Nigerian Internet Fraudster, Hushpuppi Begs For Lighter Sentence, Claims He Cleans U.S. Prison Windows, Showers Very Well

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Thu, 08 Sep 2022 13:33:00 +0000

Hushpuppi, Nigerian internet fraudster facing trial in the United States of America, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi has claimed to be one of the best cleaners in the prison where he has been remanded since his arrest in 2021.

Peoples Gazette reports that Hushpuppi’s record which was revealed as part of his memorandum countering sentencing recommendations of prosecutors showed he cleaned well and related well with other inmates.

It was learnt that his report card for Central Valley workshop for prisoners showed between July 2021 when he enrolled and November 2021 when he completed work that Hushpuppi put up “very good” in attitude, quality of work, dependability and productivity.

The internet fraudster has therefore appealed to US Judge Otis Wright to temper justice with mercy and hand him a lighter jail term after scoring high in the cleaning activities.

Hushpuppi's lawyer, Louis Shapiro wrote in the memorandum submitted on the 5th of this month that “He is currently working within his prison cleaning windows and showers—for which he has received great personal evaluations.”

It was gathered that the prosecution and defence have been arguing over the appropriate sentencing for him.

Whereas the prosecution led by assistant U.S. attorney Khaldoun Shobaki demanded 11 years in prison and $2.2 million in restitution and fines, Shapiro said his client had become a changed person in prison and should be handed a lighter sentence of about two years in prison.

Shapiro further noted Hushpuppi has three minor children in London, U.S. and Dubai to care for, as well as his ailing parents in Nigeria.

Hushpuppi was first arrested in Dubai in June 2020 and later transferred to the prison in the U.S. as his trial continued.

The presiding Judge, Wright is scheduled to hear the sentencing arguments of the prosecution and defene of Hushpuppi on September 21 before delivering his judgment in the matter.

Osinachi: Tears, as Church makes men reassure wives of love, forgiveness and understanding.

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Sun, 17 Apr 2022 19:40:00 +0000

It was Easter Sunday. However, in the wake of the circumstances that led to the death of gospel songbird, Mrs Osinachi Nwachukwu, churches preached “husbands love your

wives”.

In fact, The Covenant Nation had a post-service mini-marriage seminar, where couples sat together.

The high point of the meeting was when men were made to hold their wives, look them in the eyes and confess their love for madams.

In short, it was a recitation that drove home a single message — reassurance of love and devotion, garnished with forgiving and forgiveness.

Afterwards, a fews wives’ eyes were red, with some wiping off tears.

There’s no way of knowing how many marriages that The Covenant Nation’s 15-minute marriage seminar saved from the brink, but the concern seems general.

Tellingly, late Osinachi’s home church, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, has a programme “Men Seat Down” scheduled for April 29.

For, as Dr. Paul Enenche told his members, “some men have made themselves unapproachable… their wives’ best friend is another woman.”

Then another church in Lagos has fixed next week for a time with a marriage counsellor.

Sister Osinachi, you’re still ministering from beyond. Rest well.

Men had gone into the forest in their locality and after they had caught a lizard monitor, they did something unusual with the animal

I knew my wife was angry with me

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Sat, 16 Apr 2022 08:12:00 +0000

We were both angry with each other. From my facial expression, my wife knew I was very prepared to keep malice with her that morning. She was also angry and didn't mind playing along.

I stepped out of the house and she locked the doors and followed me behind. Since we don't have a car, we always board the same bus to work every morning and ensure we sit together- side by side on the bus.

I was to drop at Manda hill and she was to drop at zesco.

But today, I didn't want to sit close to her. So I sat at the back seat and she sat in front, just beside a good-looking Police officer. The man glanced at my wife. I saw the way he looked at her hair and face with so much admiration. Then he told her she looked beautiful. My wife smiled and told him thank you.

He asked my wife where she was going and she told him she was heading to work.

All this while, I was sitting behind and listening to their conversation.

"My name is Mwansa Mweemba. I am a police officer as you can see from my uniform. I was just posted to Lusaka a month ago. Right now I am heading to my place of assignment."

My wife nodded her head. When the conductor requested for my wife to pay her transport fare, the officer offered to pay. He pulled out a K50 and Said Two.

My wife thanked him and smiled.

Then the officer continued.

"So I will be dropping soon at Munali I am accommodated at Chelston Police Camp. I don't know if you can drop by someday to say hello to me. Can I have your number?"

I didn't waste any more time. I tapped my wife on her shoulders immediately.

She turned.

And then I asked her.

"Hope you remembered to put a spoon inside Kasubas lunch box? You know you always forget."

My wife was puzzled. She was probably wondering who Kasuba is, and why I had chosen to talk to her. Before she could ask any further questions I added.

"Try to pick her up from school early today. I will be coming back home late. You can cook ifinkubala for me for dinner so that when I return I will eat something before bed."

My wife was confused.

Then she glanced at the police man and returned her gaze to me. She understood what I was trying to do.

"Yes, honey." She nodded.

The police man turned and saw me. He greeted me. Then he asked my wife.

"Is that your husband?"

My wife nodded. The police man glanced at me again and again.

Then he glanced for the last time and smiled at me.

I didn't smile back.

When we got to the Chainama I dropped from the bus and dragged my wife along with me.

My wife couldn't stop laughing. While we were about to board another bus, she asked me.

"Honey, who is Kasuba?"

"Kasuba is our future daughter. Jump on the bus let us go."

My wife laughed.

We boarded another bus to and this time, we sat together. Side by side in the bus. And this time I paid for her.

When you give your partner distance, both emotionally and physically, you let the devil occupy that space. He takes your position without your permission and builds a home for himself in your place. Don't let the devil have a place in your home. Cover all grounds.

Make your presence known.

May God bless your marriage and relationship.

It’s a mark of failure for bandits to take over Buhari’s home state — PDP slams FG, Masari

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Mon, 09 Aug 2021 23:08:00 +0000

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took a swipe at the Katsina state governor, over his recent lamentations on the spate of insecurity in his state, advising the governor to be courageous enough by telling President Muhammadu Buhari that he has “failed” to protect Nigerians, contrary to his electioneering promises.

This is as the main opposition party noted that the former House of Representatives Speaker is doing a great disservice to his people, “who have fallen victims to persistent banditry, owing to President Buhari’s incompetence and inability to secure the nation, by not shading his parochial politics to join other patriotic Nigerians in voicing out to President Buhari, the truth of his failures.”

In the words of party spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, “It is indeed a distressing and colossal mark of failure that President Buhari’s home state, Katsina, is being taken over by bandits, who are now overrunning local governments, killing, raping, maiming and pillaging innocent citizens, while Mr President, who promised to lead the fight against insurgency from the fronts, continues to recede deeper into the safety and comfort of Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.”

He continued: “It is totally upsetting that while Mr President is busy with his unnecessary rhetoric in Abuja, bandits, according to Governor Masari, are having a field day in persistent attacks on 10 local government areas, killing and robbing innocent citizens on daily basis.

“While it is common knowledge that President Buhari has failed and especially, in his three-pronged focus of security, economy and anti-corruption, it is however regrettable that his administration could be so aloof, cold and unperturbed as bandits ravage our citizens in most states and particularly in Mr President’s home state. What a failure!

“President Buhari and Governor Masari must know that there is no way history will be kind to them and their party, the APC, for their incompetence, insensitivity and failure in governance, which have brought so much devastation to our dear nation.

“The PDP for the umpteenth time calls on President Buhari to wake up to the responsibilities of his office, pick himself up and lead from the front in the fight against insurgents, in line with his campaign promise. He should either shape up or ship out.“Our party, however, urges Nigerians, especially the people of Katsina state not to resign to despondency over President Buhari’s failures, while charging our gallant troops to remain strong as we work hard to rescue our nation from the misrule of the APC, which has led to the escalation of woes in our country.”

One of Nigeria’s biggest television screen, EbonyLife Studios have partner with Will Packer Productions to develop an untitled project based on the Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master” by Evan Ratliff. The rights were won after a highly contested derby by several producers and is now set up at Universal Pictures.

Writer discussions are ongoing and progressing quickly. The globetrotting action thriller project is said to be a hybrid of ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and ‘Usual Suspects’. Mo Abudu will produce for EbonyLife Studios and Will Packer and James Lopez will produce through their Will Packer Productions.

Commenting on this feat, CEO of EbonyLife Studios, Mo Abudu said: “EbonyLife is uniquely positioned to ensure the depth and authenticity of this film. This is why we needed to partner with a major Hollywood producer like Will Packer Productions – they are equally invested in telling stories that resonate with our audiences. We understand the environment of poverty and deprivation that breeds highly talented and fundamentally flawed characters like Hushpuppi, and WPP knows how to create stories with global appeal.

Will Packer, founder of Will Packer Productions and Will Packer Media also said “Ten months ago Mo pitched us a rich and entertaining concept steeped in Nigerian culture that can only be told with the help of her unique perspective.

Together we knew Evan’s work was the definitive telling and the perfect anchor of this saga.”

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Sat, 24 Jul 2021 07:28:00 +0000

Driven by passion for excellence inspired by the creative ingenious works of famous humanitarians and celebrities, beautiful Zambian Actress and community development benefactor, Matildah Muchindu shared captivating stories of her journey to greatness.

In his interesting story, ‘beckoned by destiny”, Matildah explained

her family background, philosophy of life, Movie industry and her intention to establish a Non-Governmental organizationto give back to her community through sustainable development of both human and infrastructures excerpts:

“As an author, it has been my dream to tell my life’s story. With mixed reactions, I was pushed by my friends and step brothers also jokingly nicknamed me a “witch” with strong advice to meet top Nigerian actress, Patience Ọzọkwo, popularly known in the movie industry as Mama Gee.

During that confronting times, I had no idea that it was a dream come true. So, when I started writing my books, I realized that its important that I should enroll in a film school, particularly for acting in Brisbane, Australia. I was offered admission but left unceremoniously due to lack of understanding, script analysis etc; but the zeal never faded.

I am a strong person because of my polygamous background, so, I never gave up when the institution suspended me, at the school of filming. Though, I was supposed to finish Diploma in filming within 4months after spending 1 year, 6-months. Fortunately, I earned certificate in filming as I passed the rest of the subjects.

Amazed by the stage name “Maddie Mitchell, sincerely, I was inspired by the joke or bullying to the next level of becoming an Actress, film producer and author.

As a mother, it’s joyful to narrate my story in a stylish way, by turning my memoire and family book into a blockbuster movie. As destiny preludes, my book was scripted into a movie because I had to accommodate fans and viewers that cannot read but can comfortably understand and relate with my movie; thus get inspired.

Its my dream to work with two top actress in my forthcoming project, because mama Sola Sobowale inspires me a lot she brings joy and laughter in people’s lives. I admire her a lot. Just like the way I fell in love with Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama Gee, having worked in two movies with her. Working with Mama Sola Sobowale would be a dream come true.

As an actress, working with Oghenekaro Itene on a great movie would be wonderful given that she inspires me especially when I feel like quitting.

It is my determination as a real strong African woman who has faced many obstacles in my quest to achieve my dreams and inspire millions of particularly, women of African descent. Yes, I am true, committed to my vision to herald a new narrative in my beloved Zambia, Africa, in globally.

I have discovered that the internet is a huge and lucrative part of the movie industry with so many platforms, especially with Covid-19 outbreak. Corona virus has helped many to either work from home, meetings and for some people isolation and just staying connected is very important. However, without the internet, there cannot be movies during the outbreak as the impact on our movie industry is unprecedented.

By providing a developmental school, as my vision in education is for people especially women and children acquire better education unlike me that never had the opportunity to fulfill my academic goals.

Giving back to my community is by telling my story hoping to inspire people and educate them through my struggled experience for a better society, especially young women all over the world not just my country.

Life is in phases and it is my dream to create job opportunities, assist widows, youths to discover themselves and achieve financial freedom in different ways particular to them.

The film industry in Africa is booming and I intend to support and invest in the sector to maximize the potentials which will improve revenue in the continent.

I strongly believe that rise by lifting others as my mantra in human capacity development and infrastructural provision for a peaceful, viable, healthy and safer world.

Secession: Yoruba group seeks DSS, Police’s clampdown on Igboho, other agitators

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Fri, 07 May 2021 18:57:00 +0000

A Yoruba organisation, Yoruba Appraisal Forum (YAF), has faulted the agitation by a group led by Mr Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, that Yorubaland should secede from Nigeria, describing such move as treasonable and unpatriotic

The group also lampooned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for allegedly spearheading arson attacks and killings under the guise of secession in the Southeast.

YAF advised that Yoruba should resist the IPOB and their agents from brainwashing and infiltrating their ranks.

Speaking at a protest held in Ado Ekiti on Thursday to condemn the agitators, the group’s National Coordinator, Adeshina Animashaun, regretted the spate of violence in the southwest and southeast in recent times leading to loss of lives and property.

The rally, comprising Okada riders, different youth groups, and driver unions, moved from the Fajuyi Park and danced round Ado Ekiti, the capital city.

The proponents also despatched letters of protest to Governor Kayode Fayemi, the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and security agencies.

They flaunted placards with the inscriptions: ‘One Nigeria is Paramount’, ‘Stand Together and Love One Another’, ‘There is No Way We can Survive as a Nation And in The World Without Unity’, ‘Individually We are One Drop, Together we are An Ocean’, among others.

While lampooning Igboho and his ilk, Animashaun said: “Nigeria should not go the way of Somalia. Somalia is no longer the same today, because of war.

“I don’t want to even witness war throughout my lifetime, because we knew what we lost in Yoruba race during the 2020 #EndSARS protest.

“On our part as YAF members, we want to warn sternly that we won’t allow any group or individual to turn the Southwest into a theatre of war.

“Our Yoruba brothers involved in this evil enterprise or plot to destabilise the Yoruba race should retrace their steps to avoid dire consequences.

“We recorded huge losses in the southwest during the #EndSARS protest in terms of burnt property worth trillions of naira, not to talk of valuable human lives destroyed due to the violence that followed the EndSARS.

“The federal government, police, and men of the Nigerian army and other security agencies should take urgent steps to stop the Yoruba independence agitators and freedom fighters before they set the entire country ablaze”.

Animashaun urged the federal government to display its political will by propelling the Department of State Services, military, and the police to activate their machinery against these elements in the southwest before the situation escalates.

He said if actions are not taken swiftly to checkmate the rising violent tendencies of the agitators, the southwest will be immersed into unprecedented cataclysm.

Animashaun added that; “These agitators were being emboldened by the recent spate of attacks on security infrastructure and personnel in the Southeast, especially the attacks on police stations and killings of innocent policemen.

“It is very clear that the masterminds of this violence are bent on throwing Nigeria into chaos to put governments at both state and federal levels into violence to enable them execute their respective evil plans for Nigeria.

“We learnt that these elements have begun to mobilise their members in the southwest for the next phase of their so-called agitation for Yoruba indepedence and self determination by engaging in more violent protests and bloody confrontations with government.

“But should they refuse to take our modest advice to desist from their devilish plans and unpatriotic activities in Yorubaland, they should be prepared to face dire consequences as we would no longer fold our arms and allow them destroy our peace, economy and social wellbeing”, the YAF boss stated.

Buhari's aide Femi Adesina sinks to new low, calls Nigeria ram's testicles, woman's breasts

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Fri, 07 May 2021 09:30:00 +0000

In one of the most demeaning manners and language, President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina Adesina, has described the world’s most populous black

nation Nigeria as the dangling testicles of a ram or a pair of breasts of a running woman.

“As I often say, this country is like the testicles of a ram, which gyrates from side to side, as the animal runs,” he analysed.

Arguing further, he asserted, “However fast the speed of the ram, have you ever seen the testicles fall off? Or, when a woman runs, holds her breasts, is it for fear that those tender parts will fall off? It never happens.”

Mr Adesina’s discourteous comparison of a dangling pair of the sexual organs of an animal and a woman may be seen by many people as a display of the Presidency’s flagrant disregard for Nigerians’ suffering.

In his use of the imageries, Mr Adesina attempted to browbeat his principal, Mr Buhari’s critics, which he said included religious and political leaders.

“These political, religious and ethnic leaders should please get their knees off the necks of Nigerians, and they should let us breathe,” said Mr Adesina.

He added, “Nigeria is bigger than them, and the country will survive.”

In his weekly article posted on Facebook on Thursday, the media aide claimed that politicians and other Nigerians who lost in the 2019 presidential election were bent on tarnishing Mr Buhari’s image.

“Incidentally, while combating insecurity, and myriads of other challenges, President Buhari is making conquests on other fronts, particularly infrastructure. Roads, bridges, rail network, airports, gas pipelines, other massive projects are ongoing.

“And they are telling themselves: unless we stop this man, he will still become the authentic Nigerian hero. So they are throwing everything against him, including the kitchen sink,” Mr Adesina claimed.
To him, the nationwide insecurity mattered little, insisting that those against Mr Buhari are using the chaos just to “bad-mouth” his boss.

“What they lost through the ballot box, they have been plotting to get through the back door. Bad-mouth the man, paint him black, portray him as incompetent, and turn the people against him.

“And they have found a smokescreen in the security challenges the country is facing. They have crept under it, to show their hidden, hostile hands,” he wrote

This is Arun Kumar, born with four legs and two pelvises

noreply@blogger.com (Kemyife.blogspot.com) — Wed, 27 May 2020 19:09:00 +0000

Arun Kumar, 22, was born with two extra legs growing from his lower back - one underdeveloped and the other permanently bent at the knee.

After living for 15 years without any kind of treatment, Arun, from Uttar Pradesh, India, appealed through social media for medical help to remove his extra legs. A team of specialists at Fortis

Hospital in Delhi responded to Arun’s plea for help and organised a series of tests to find out how the legs are attached and if he can be treated.

Despite not being able to move his extra legs, Arun does have feeling in them and carrying the weight on his back is damaging his posture and ability to walk. When Arun was born his parents took him to hospitals and sought treatment in cities across India.

Arun’s mother Kokila Devi said: “During childbirth he got stuck and didn’t come out without pain. And when he came out, all his limbs were the same size.
The doctors at Farrukhabad deemed Arun’s extra legs too risky to operate on - especially on such a young baby - and the family were sent home.

Despite Arun’s parents travelling all over the country for five years to get the help their first son needed, the family were forced to return to their village and learn to live with Arun’s condition.
After a successful social media appeal, Arun was contacted by specialists at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Delhi for an assessment, and a series of scans and medical tests to see if he can have surgery.

Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Hermant Sharma, who examined Arun, discovered he also has a second pelvis, and arranged a series of tests, including MRI and CT scans, x-rays and echocardiograms, to find out how the extra legs are connected and how they are affecting his body.
A new series follows Arun as he journeys to Delhi for treatment and finds out whether he can undergo the surgery which will transform his life.

An Osun High Court on Wednesday sentenced two persons to death by hanging for armed robbery and conspiracy.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Jide Falola, had ordered that the convicts be hanged due to the magnitude of the offense committed. The convicts are facing a five-count charge bordering on armed

robbery, conspiracy and theft preferred against them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the judgement was delivered at the Ilesa Correctional Center during the Prison visit of the Osun Chief Judge, Justice Adeleke Ojo. Falola had earlier found the convicts guilty of the five-count charges after thorough judicial proceeding and arguments from the counsel.

The State Prosecution Counsel, Mr Muyiwa Ogunleye, had told the court that the convicts committed the offense on April 14, 2016 at Oke-Ola area, at about 8pm. He said the convicts conspired among themselves with others, now at large, to rob Muideen Owonifari, Clement Taiwo and Olubunmi of their property and money.

The convicts who had a list of their targets normally tick the list once their target is taken off from investigation. They robbed, assaulted and also stole some valuables and huge amount of money belonging to the complainants at gun point,” he said.

The prosecution counsel said the offense contravened sections 1 (1)(2)(a) robbery and firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R 11 laws of Nigeria, 2004. The defense counsel, Mr L. S Bello, had earlier prayed the court to tamper justice with mercy in sentencing the accused.
