This is quite a big topic but I will try and be as brief as possible. I hope everyone will get the idea.

Now, what is a blog and what is blogging all about?

A Blog is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Its usually owned by an individual or group of people who act as the administrator/s of the blog.

Blogging on the other hand is the act of recording your thoughts, opinions, or experiences on the internet for other people to read.

So, why do People really go into blogging???

People go into blogging in order to;

1. To Express Thoughts and Opinions:

You have something to say, and blogs provide a place to say it and be heard.

2. To Market or Promote Something:

Blogging is a great way to help market or promote yourself or your business, product or service.

3. To Help People:

Many blogs are written to help people who may be going through similar situations that the blogger has experienced. Many parenting and health-related blogs are written for this purpose.

4. To Establish Yourself as an Expert:

Blogs are wonderful tools to help bloggers establish themselves as experts in a field or topic. For example, if you're trying to get a job in a specific field or hoping to publish a book on a specific topic.

5. To Stay Active or Knowledgeable in a Field or Topic:

Blogging helps one to be knowledgeable in a particular niche or field he/she has great interest in.

--To kick off, there re lots of platforms where you can set up Ur blog. And did I also mention. These platforms re totally free. So, you don't really need much capital to own a blog. Just Ur modem and Ur laptop can do. The 2 most popular platforms are:

1. www.blogger.com

2. www.WordPress.com

We will pay attention to blogger blogs.

So, you want to own a blogger blog.. but you need a blog address. A blogger blog address ends with ".blogspot.com" *nothing is free after all*.. in choosing a blog address.. you need to make it precise and short. so that Ur visitors can easily remember it. eg; www.yourname.blogspot.com

I won't go deep into setting up a blog. Its quite easy but might take a lot of time if I start dissecting everything u need to know ranging from setup and design proper.

Let me just give a little intro.

blogger.com is owned by Google. so once you have a gmail account then you re gud to go. Just go to blogger.com and log in with Ur gmail log in details. and automatically u will be taken to the dashboard (the background of the blog you are about to create)

STEPS

1. Click the "New Blog" button to Create Your Blog Now.

2. Type in the name of your blog in the Blog Title field.

3. Enter your Blogger URL into the Blog Address (URL) field and click the Check Availability link.

This is a mandatory step. Try to choose a short URL that is close to your blog name. (Remember, later you should set up your own domain name, if you wish to. You can set up custom domain. With that you can have something like eg; yourname.com instead of yourname.blogspot.com)

If the URL is already taken, Google will suggest alternate URLs that are available.

4. If the Blogger URL (yourname .blogspot.com) is available, click the Continue button.

5. Choose a starter template.

Choose a template that is closest to what you want your blog to look like.

6. You can start posting by clicking the Start Blogging button, or continue working on your template by clicking the Customize How Your Blog Looks link.

It doesn’t matter which one you do first — just explore and play around with it. With more visits and consistency and researching more on how to improve, your blog will make it to limelight.

HOW TO USE THE SPY WATCH.

The watch can be used for 3 different functions which includes; capturing pictures (photo), capturing videos, and recording audio.

1. To capture Pictures (photos): when you hold down the “the spy feature, video record, lower function button” for 3seconds, it turns on the spy features. Then quick press the “upper function button” The LED will turn red and then turn back to blue to show that the picture has been taken.

2. To capture Videos: To turn the video functionality on, tap the lower function button when the LED changes colour, let go and afterwards it will turn to solid blue (this is stand-by mode). To record video, just quick press the lower function button. The blue LED light will blink 3 times and then go out. You are now recording video with audio. You can easily tell if its still recording by quickly pressing the lower function button and the blue light will blink 3 times and go out. To manually stop recording video, you just hold down the lower function button till the red LED blinks 3 times and out. This saves file and powers down the watch.

3. To record Audio: Just hold down the upper function button for couple of seconds till the red LED light blinks 3 times and then goes out. You are now recording audio. To stop recording, just quickly press the button again.

PROS AND CONS OF THE INNJOO LEAP 4 TABLET

The Innjoo Tablet is quite amazing and nice but it has some pros and cons which I will highlight as follows:

PROS

Ø It works like a PC

Ø It has a nice battery life: It can last up to 6hrs and still counting.

Ø You can easily use it for office publications and editing.

Ø It can serve as an alternate to your pc in editing and powerpoint presentation

Ø You can easily upgrade to the latest windows out there.

Ø You have access to about 100gb free space on MSN cloud platform to back up your files.

CONS

Ø It has very little space just 10gb of internal memory. This makes it impossible for you to install lots of softwares.

Ø You must buy an external sd card (memory card) which you can only use for storing files and folders because you cant be able to install files into it. I bought a 64gb sd card and ended up using it to store only movies, music and files… quite annoying. Atimes the sd card will need to be reformatted before you can add more files to it, else the files will be corrupted.

Ø The tablet is equipped with an otg port but you have to buy either a multipurpose flash or an otg wire before you can be able to use it in transferring files from PC to the tablet.

If you are the type software freak or game freak please do not go for this tablet because you wont enjoy it. But if you just want to use it for minor projects like word processing, movies and music entertainment, low memory games like chess, scrabble, etc then this tablet is for you.

This will be a short tutorial, I guess most of you must have known this feature before now. Well for those that don’t, Snipping tool is one of the nice applications that accompanies the windows operating system. Starting from windows 7 and above,.. sorry but if you are using windows 7 Starter version, this feature is not there. So what’s the snipping tool all about? Well most times I find out that in order to capture an information in a particular environment in their PC or take snapshots in their PC, they usually use the “print screen” option in their keyboard. Well the difference between the print screen option and the snipping tool is that the print screen takes a snapshot of all that is in the screen without taking note of a particular area user might want to use and buttress his point. Snipping tool gives you a tool you can use to capture only the particular area you which to talk about.

HOW TO USE THE SNIPPING TOOL

Go to your start menu and type in snipping tool in the search box. When it brings up the snipping tool option, select it.

It will open up in a new window, when it does, click on new.

It will bring up a + sign,.. now that’s the tool you will use to select the particular area you want to snap or capture.

Usually once you click and drag to a certain spot it will capture the area then click on save in the new windown that will pop out and choose the file name u which to save it with.

Microsoft Powerpoint is a nice presentation tool that is mainly being used in the corporate world for presentation. And most times you find out that presenters might be running out of time to be able to showcase some images to support whatever proposal he has in mind. I guess that the reason why Microsoft decided to incorporate an important tool bar in its most recent Microsoft powerpoint of 2010 and 2013 versions. This tab is known as ‘Remove Background’

Removing Backgrounds Using PowerPoint

I will take a presentation I have and insert any picture right in it.

After inserting the picture, we will go to the Format Picture tab and click on Remove Background.

Notice that PowerPoint makes a good job depending on the picture to recognize the background and paint it in purple.

If your image, like mine, needs a little more editing, you can click on Mark Areas to Remove and select the areas that are still left to being removed in your picture using straight lines, notice how powerpoint mark out areas with same background making the work easier for you.

When you have finally ended selecting/editing your picture, just click on Keep changes and you will notice the background will be entirely removed.

You can now even select a different background for your picture.

This is handy but certainly not as professional as editing with Photoshop, but for a presentation, this could do the trick. So here you go, in case if you are running out of time and need to remove some nasty backgrounds.

If you're a business owner and want to add a listing for a single business location, read the instructions below. You can add up to 100 single listings; if you have more than 10, you'll need to add the listings as a bulk upload.

We'll give you all the details you need about adding your local business listing, but keep in mind that there are three general steps before the listing for your business will appear on Google:

1. Submit your information, from basic contact info to photos and video.

2. Verify the listing by phone or postcard.

3. Wait for the listing to appear on Google. Verification will take up to two weeks.

1. Visit Google Places.

Sometimes when you verify a listing, it is possible that Google will show data from another user who has also verified the listing. If the information in the listing for your business is wrong even after you have verified the listing, you can send a report through the Report a problem link.

Multi-Language Locations

BlackBerry is reportedly thinking about bringing its popular BlackBerry Messenger service, known as BBM, from mobile devices onto desktop computers.

BlackBerry chief executive John Chen said in an interview with Reuters that the move would allow employees of big companies and government agencies to begin group chats on their PCs and then switch over to mobile phones when they leave the office, without skipping a beat.

"We are certainly going to take a very serious look at putting BBM on the desktop," he told the news agency.

BBM was originally exclusive to BlackBerry smartphones, but last year the company took the bold move of making it available to users of iPhones and Android devices. It now plans to make BBM available on Microsoft's Windows Phone and the upcoming Nokia X platforms as well.

BBM has over 80 million users, but user growth has failed to keep pace with that of WhatsApp and other competitors. WhatsApp was bought by Facebook last month for $19 billion (£11bn), highlighting the potential value of a messaging platform.

PROTECTING YOUR COMPUTER AGAINST AUTORUN INFECTIONS WITH USB IMMUNIZER

USB flash drives are, undoubtedly, amazing tools that improve our portability and allow us to easily transfer files from one computer to another. With an ever-growing popularity, they are used by everyone and are becoming a preferred target for hackers and other cyber criminals to plant viruses and other harmful code.

But how exactly do these infections work, anyway? They take advantage of a feature implemented by Windows developers over time: Autorun. Even though this feature is somewhat handy, since it runs the media we insert in our computer automatically, these infections are placed alongside the autorun instructions so that whenever the device is autorun, those instructions will also be run, infecting the whole machine. Given that flash drives are meant to be portable and used in a lot of different computers, it is quite easy to understand how big of a problem these infections can be.

Like you should always do online, be careful with the sites you visit and the files you download and place on your USB sticks. USB Immunizer is a small piece of software that just silently sits on your taskbar and acts when needed, that is, when you plug in a USB stick. The program’s action is simply to stop the triggering of autorun of USB flash drives. It also has an action to “immunize” them.

But what does this “immunization” consist of? Usually, the autorun information is stored inside a file named autorun.inf, which is hidden. This file can contain harmless information such as the drive’s name or icon, but it can also be used to place a harmful piece of coding in order to spread viruses, malware and other infections. USB Imunnizer’s immunization process securely replaces the autorun.inf file by a clean one (also hidden) which, due to some technical tricks, Windows cannot mess with – it cannot be deleted or overwritten, unless the drive is formatted or accessed outside Windows. As it turns out, there can only be a single autorun.inf inside a drive, which means that there really is no way that Windows creates another autorun.inf file.

A federal judge just brought the hammer down on Jeremy Hammond, a prominent Anonymous and LulzSec hacker. Hammond was sentenced to a decade in prison by by Chief US District Judge Loretta A. Preska, who punished Hammond for his computer hacking guilty plea with the maximum sentence permissible under the law.

Hammond was caught hacking into and stealing information from Strategic Forecasting, a global intelligence firm, which “Provides strategic intelligence on global business, economic, security and geopolitical affairs” according to its website. Hammond’s defense claims that the information leaked as a result of his hacking efforts revealed that the U.S. government hired Strategic Forecasting to spy on activists. However, Hammond and those associated with him ended up publishing email addresses and credit card numbers. The credit card numbers were used to make illegal purchases worth $700,000.

The ten year sentence that Hammond will now serves is one of the strongest sentences issued to any hacktivist. It will be interesting to see whether Preska’s ruling will result in a decrease in such activity on the part of Anonymous and LulzSec. However, it’s worth noting that the death penalty is hardly a deterrent against crime. Prohibition also didn’t stop the flow of alcohol either.
