Emma's Baptism.

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 09 Jun 2015 00:31:00 +0000

Emma on her Baptism Day.

Emma was surrounded by the love of her family on her special day. She is a wonderful example to her siblings AND parents of obedience and faith.

Emma was baptised Saturday, May 31, 2015 at the Leesburg Ward Building. It was a beautiful, sunny day and family and ward friends came to support Emma on her big day. Kent performed the baptism and the confirmation. The spirit was so strong as she prepared for her Baptism with the songs and talks prepared by Grandma Shirley and Mawmaw. Emma is now officially a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We also went to Temple Hall Farms to say hi to the animals and jump on the pillow. Benson thought the pigs were horribly stinky!

I walked by the girls rooms to find them reading and snuggling so sweetly. I am a blessed mama! What sweet little children I have and what a blessing they are to eachother. I'm so happy they will always have one another and I'm so pleased to see them bonding and making memories. Home, truly is where the heart is!

Swimming!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Thu, 14 May 2015 01:08:00 +0000

Benson is a water baby!!! We went to Lancaster last weekend for a fun weekend of swimming and Mother's Day - it was so much fun! We arrived early Saturday morning and spent the early afternon swimming with the kids. We bought the kids these new floaty life jackets and they were a big hit. Camilla was swimming with them immediately and Benson was excited to be in the water but a little nervous if I let go. Flora still refused to swim, she prefers the shallow sandbar. That afternoon Ainsley and MacGregor watched all the kids so that my parents, Dan and Brittney, Kent and I could go to dinner together. Sunday, after church we had a quiet afternoon at my parents just talking and sitting on their patio - we went to the Henrichsen's later in the day for a Mother's Day BBQ. Monday afternoon Ainsley and Piper had a half day of school and joined us in the pool for a couple of hours of swimming before we hit the road before returned home. Benson really took to swimming and didn't want to be held anymore! It was so exciting to see him swimming and loving it. :)

National Zoo!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 05 May 2015 17:40:00 +0000

I took the kids to the National Zoo in Washington DC last Wednesday. It was a beautiful day, but a little too hot! We walked and walked and walked.... :) It was fun to see the animals, we especially loved the pandas and the cheetah!

Happy 8th Birthday, Emma!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 05 May 2015 17:37:00 +0000

This sweet girl turned 8 on April 30th! If you know Emma, you know that she is the essence of kindness, gentleness, consideration, helpful, charitable, happy, funny, creative and loving. Emma's sweet personality brightens our day and her friendship is extended to EVERYONE. She is in fact the kindness person I know. I learn from her example daily. Emma is fun loving and enjoys making people laugh. She loves to "create" and spends a lot of her free time drawing, writing stories, along with making cards and crafts. Emma has also found a passion for playing the piano and has really applied herself this winter and enjoys practising. She is my little helper in the kitchen and in the home. She appreciates cleanliness and order and helps me to get our house in order and clean up. Emma has a wonderful appetite and appreciates good food! She eats a lot and is growing to be surprisingly tall, taking more after her daddy! However, she does NOT like chocolate.... hmmm... she may look like me, but she didn't get this from me! I love this beautiful girl who radiates goodness inside and out. She is a friend to me and a wonderful companion. She is a wonderful big sister and a true friend to all those who know her.

Emma, I love you more than words can tell! Happy 8th Birthday!

Temple Hall Farm.

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 05 May 2015 17:05:00 +0000

I took the crew to Temple Hall Farms last Saturday. We had such a fun day! They have peacocks and all sorts of farm animals. The kids really enjoyed the fresh farm air and I enjoyed taking photos of them. My friend introduced me to this local gem last month. The farm was donated to Virginia Regional Parks and is preserved and run locally. It has a lot of attractions in the fall for families and have a playground and jump pillows in the summer.

These kids are so cute!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 05 May 2015 16:57:00 +0000

Five months since our sweet baby Boyd was born have come and gone. We celebrated his 5 month birthday at this grave last Sunday, April 26, 2015. The kids brought roses and cards and we spent a beautiful afternoon outside as a family.

Boyd, we love you so much.

Kent and I took the kids with us to Reading to visit Michael and Annalily. It was a beautiful spring day and we had such a great time cathing up! The kids LOVED Michael and Annalily and have been begging to go to their house. Benson has been asking for "Uncle" all weekend :)

The park, Happy Hollow was just recently updated and has such fun playground equipment. Kent and Michel were having just as much fun as the kids!

Farm life!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 21 Apr 2015 20:24:00 +0000

The kids and I went to a local farm last week with some friends. It was a BEAUTIFUL spring day and it was so fun to see all the animals. They had peacocks which were absolutely GROGEOUS!

They had a big shed of dried corn cobs so we could feed the chickens and goats.

There were 44 new pigs! They were so adorable!

We were able to tour the farm on a wagon ride and play on their playground. It was a fun day!

High tea.

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Thu, 02 Apr 2015 21:09:00 +0000

There have been lots of fancy tea parties around here. The girls love to get skirts on, put their hair in top buns and get out their tea sets. It make for a very fancy afternoon break! :)

Camilla loves...

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Thu, 02 Apr 2015 19:58:00 +0000

Camilla is my sweet, gentle baby and puppy lover. She is drawn to all things little and cute! She says that she can't handle their cuteness! She dotes over Benson and thinks he is so cute and wishes she could be his mommy. She loves to help him, snuggle him and play with him.

Second to babies, Camilla loves small dogs! Our friends who live a couple houses down have a small dog named Charlie who Camilla loves to visit. She will tell me she needs to get her "Charlie fix". :) I'm so proud of this kind and loving girl, she brings joy to us all!

Grandpa Bob!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 24 Mar 2015 22:36:00 +0000

Look who came to visit! Grandpa Bob! YAY! It was so fun to have him here and we just loved every minute. He was a great sport and spent time with us at the park, at Chick-fil-A and then even treated us to Cheesecake Factory! We watched "Singing in the Rain" and now we are all singing the theme songs throughout the day. We drove Grandpa Bob down to Portsmouth, VA to spend time with the Muldowney's and had a fun time there as well.

Kent and his kids. What a good dad he is! We sure love him!

Flora and Grandad.

Camilla and her Daddy.

These two are so cute! He loves her and she loves him! I love them both!

Benson was licking the pad of butter and enjoying it so much he closed his eyes to really savor each lick.

Benson insisted on the teacup... much to Kent's chagrin. ;)

Camilla riding like a little lady!

Flora rode the horse this time and was soooo HAPPY!

St. Patrick's Day in Portsmouth!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Tue, 24 Mar 2015 22:23:00 +0000

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with the Muldowney cousins! It was warm enough to play outside and the kids loved playing tag and throwing balls.

Ann put together a really cute scavenger hunt and they found the rainbow!

The kids painted with Q-tips and were all very proud of their work!

one happy guy!

noreply@blogger.com (Brinn Rogers) — Wed, 11 Mar 2015 21:21:00 +0000

Sadly, I wasn't able to capture the pure joy Benson feels when he's flying in the air. He LOVES this swing. I think he sat in it for almost an hour today. He looked about ready to fall asleep at the end so I had to force him out, but I think he would have happily taken a nap swinging.
