The film is slated to open in nearly 200 screens worldwide. It was earlier scheduled torelease for Christmas and then February middle.

The King and Commissioner has Mammootty and Suresh Gopi in lead roles and is asaid to be a sequel to The King (1995) and Commissioner (1994).

However, director Shaji Kailas reportedly said that the film features a new story in a new background where the lead characters of his and Renji Panicker’s films (Joseph Alex IAS & BharathChandran IPS) are coming together.

The film has a strong supporting cast of  Jagathy,Ganesh Kumar, Nedumudi Venu, Samvrutha Sunil, Sanjana, Salim Kumar and others. It is said to be an action packed thriller based on recent political events in Kerala.

Featuring Mammootty, Prithviraj and Shriya Saran in the lead roles, the Tamil version of the movie will be titled as ‘Raaja Pokkiriraja’. Directed by Vysakh in the scripts of the Sibi K Thomas- Udhay Krishna, the movie was the biggest hit for the year roping in 18 crores from theater collections alone.

After being in a realistic role in RGV’s ‘Rakthacharithra’, she will be seen in the new Hindi movie opposite Rithesh Deshmukh. To be directed by Chandrakanth Singh, this National Award winning actress   is also considered for many other Bollywood projects in pipeline.  Priyamanis new film in Mollywood includes Superstar Mohanlal‘s ‘Grandmaster’ directed by B Unnikrishnan.

The film would be scripted by directors Rafi and Mecartin. This was a film that had been in the planning for quite a while now.Its learned that the shoot of ‘Mumbai Dost’ would commence at Kochi in April.

Ananya would be the heroine. Narein, Baburaj, Shankar, Mohini and several other actors would offer support.

Houli Pottoor would produce the film under the banner of Dreamteam Productions.

The original version had Vijay Menon and Shanthi Krishna in the lead. According to Siddharth, “this turbulent love story of a couple has been set in the current times.”

Jishnu, who was launched in films along with Siddharth by Kamal in his Nammal is doing an important role in Nidra. Sameer C Thahir, who recently directed Chappa Kurishu is the cinematographer. The music director is Jassie Gift.

“Nidra finds relevance even now and that is the reason why I decided to remake the film,” says Siddharth.

‘Raasaleela’ had an awesome musical score, thanks to the magical combination of Salil Chaudhary, Vayalar and K J Yesudas.

One would never be able to forget songs like ‘Aayilyam Paadathe Penne…’, ‘Manaykale Thathe…’ and ‘Nishasurabhikal…’ that were huge hits indeed.

The remake would mark the coming together of the next generation of artistes – Sanjay Chaudhary (son of Salil Chaudhary), Vayalar Sharath and Vijay Yesudas.

The new version would be directed by Majeed Maranchery, and would have newcomers Darshan and Prathishta doing the lead roles.

I am trying to do that roles and films that i would like to watch in theatres as a viewer. That is why i am demanding full scripts of a movie, before finalising any project. explains Asif about his mechanism of selecting roles.

Commending on the complaints about him not attending phones, Asif answers that he likes to be a loner when away from a film and its promotions.”More over i like to start preparing myself for the next good project on the pipeline, than to  answer all the calls on phone”.Asif also maintains that if some errors had occurred from his part, it is all due to him being a fresher in the industry.

Meanwhile, Asif is not having a good year at the Box Office with two of his films ‘Asuravithu’ and ‘Unnam‘ failing to excite the viewers.

On interrogation Anjaneyan agreed that he was married and when the marriage turned bitter, he filed for a divorce and that the case is impending in a Kozhikode civil court. Anjaneyan is said to have entered wedlock in 2008 and filed for a divorce in 2009.

Regional Malayalam channels are working overtime and have it that Ananya was well aware of Anjaneyan’s first marriage and is madly in love with this businessman, who is an ardent fan of hers. They also further express that Ananya is currently house arrested by her parents who do not want their daughter to meet Anjaneyan.

Ananya has rubbished these as baseless rumours but as the old adage goes, there’s no smoke without fire. Ananya currently has five promising projects in Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.

The film would be directed by Aji John, and would be scripted by Jayan Sunoj. Ratheesh Vegha would compose the music.‘Namukku Paarkkaan’ would be produced by Joy Thomas Shakthikulangara under the banner of Jithin Arts.

Anoop Menon and Remya Nambeeshan were named the best supporting stars while Vijayaraghavan got the award for the best villain(Vencile Vyapari). Babauraj was for the first time named as the best comedy actor.

While Vijay Yesudas was named the best playback singer for his ‘Ee Puzhayam’ from Indian rupee, Manjari will receive the award for her rendition of ‘Chimmi Chimmi’ from ‘Urumi‘.O N V Kurup was named the best lyricist while Bijibal will receive the award for the best music director.Unni mukundan and Karthika were selected as the best promising faces of the year .

The awards were selected after counting the two lakh Gallup poll nominations sent via Manorama online, Vanitha and Manorama newspaper and polling booths. The awards will be given away shortly in a colourful function attended by industry stalwarts.
