The collectionsin the first four days surpassed all recent box office records of any moviewith newcomers in the lead.  The film gota distributor’s share of Rs 55 lakhs from releasing stations in its four daysand is expected to go strong for at least one more week.

‘Velayudham‘ starring Vijay, Genelia D’ Souza, Hansika Motwani was a Diwali release and had the protagonist, Vijay, don the mask of a superhero due to circumstances that push him into it. Taking a dig on a social issue, the film was welcomed with open arms by his fans and family audience in the urban and rural centers.

The film was helmed by Jayam Raja and had music by Vijay Antony. It was a clean package with a good dosage of action, drama and comedy.

It may be mentioned, Vijay’s latest offering, ‘Nanban’, is also seeing a good run in theatres. He’s currently working on ‘Thupaki’ with AR Murugadoss.
