my new favorite etsy shop is Matte Stephens. it combines so many of my favorite things: pretty birds,  muted earth tones, hand drawn art and puns (best. shopname.ever.). my bedroom will soon be getting an overhaul and i am in serious need of some art, but i need to grab these quick next time! the top drawing sold while i was posting this! (tear.)

kale + green apple juice. yum!

last night i tweeted about how much i wish i had a juicer. little did i know that my boyfriend owns one! it’s been in the basement the entire time we’ve been on cresson street. who knew? i am giddy with excitement.

fresh juice is my newest favorite thing. i work with some lovely ladies who are in the midst of a juice cleanse, so there has been a ton of yummy juice in the breakroom every day. kale+green apple and beet+carrot are super tasty and nutrient dense. i’m sure there will be plenty of trial and error, but i am going to pick up some fresh fruits and veggies for juicing this weekend!

i love that there are always new and interesting things to do in this city. dinner at the dandelion, dessert at yogorino and some live theater at plays and players.

oh philadelphia, who could possibly want anything more.

second time’s the charm.
after a terrible attempt with frozen peaches and spelt flour turned out tasteless and chewy, i found this recipe and gave it another whirl. my worst critic just gobbled one down and loved them. success.

I am currently having a love affair with Etsy. I can not get enough. Everything you could possibly want, Etsy has.

I’m not even sure how I found Claudia Varosio’s adorable Etsy shop, but I am so happy I did. Dozens of wonderful prints and postcards with retro images from your favorite films. I think Claudia would get along famously with my boyfriend, because all of his favorite films are represented. A few of my favorites are: 1. Before Sunset, 2. Bottle Rocket, 3. Mad Men and 4. The Royal Tenenbaums. I loved the adorable Margo Tenenbaum paper doll print so much I just bought it for myself!

After weeks of lusting after olive military jackets at Madewell and J.Crew, you would not believe the embarrassing gasp that escaped my lips when I walked past the H&M store this weekend and saw this jacket in the window. It was everything I had been lusting after, with none of the credit card debt. But alas, they didn’t have my size. I was so incredibly  sad. I went home and immediately tried to find the jacket online. Got me again, H&M. No online shopping. Now I was determined. I called two other Philadelphia stores, and bless Bridget at the Chestnut Street store for understanding my frantic description of the jacket and holding my size until I could come scoop it up. I will be wearing this baby well into spring. Super cute and a fraction of the cost.

i have a terrible time finding jewelry i love enough to wear every day. my jewelry box consists of polar opposites: a few nice, fancy pieces that i save for special occasions and accessories (ie. trendy, cheap, statement jewels more suited for a night out than daytime wear.) i have nothing suited for day-to-day sparkle, which is why i was so happy to find these lovely rings by catbird. tiny, sweet and gold, they fulfill my wish for something that’s both high in quality and on trend without breaking the bank. i ordered the heart ring pictured above, and i can’t wait until it’s on my finger.
