Perodua has introduced their new limited edition Perodua Myvi Limited Edition (Myvi LE) which has been launched recently. The new LE version will come in three colors, ivory white, ebony black and dazzling red.

This new Perodua Myvi LE is obviously targeted on ladies since it come with pink. Other specification will be as normal as regular one, with automatic transmission, 1.3 liter standard engine with additional trim equipped, including vanity mirrors. Other modification are such new trim color and fabric, door inner and outer handle, “LE” carpet mat, cubic printing on dashboard center cluster, and door trim armrests. You may also find dual airbags for people who sit in front. Audio playerhas been added with USB and bluetooth connectivity also.

Perodua Myvi LE also fitted with smoked clear rear lamps, which appear equal to the Myvi SE, with side door moldings. This is enough to say additional accessory package fit into standard model since Myvi LE is RM1,700 higher over the standard one. Myvi LE is priced at RM48,600.

Other than that, Perodua also intended to sell another 4 accessories which pushed with LE model separately for those who own the previous model Myvi, which are chrome door handle, tinted film, car seat organizer, and blue lighting set for floor and luggage area.

Modified and roaming the streets but no action taken

THERE are cars that have been modified excessively, changing the shape of the original make, and the noise generated by these vehicles is well beyond the sound limit allowed and yet it appears that the authorities are not acting against the drivers.

The modifications made to the cars include the body kit, exhaust pipe, engine, front lights using high voltage (xenon lights), “recycled” body parts, shorter shock absorbers, excessive tint and the use of logo of a different make.

The modified exhaust pipes contribute to noise pollution and the xenon lights can temporarily blind drivers of oncoming cars.

According to an expert on modified cars, Lawrence Simon of Linerz motorsports based in Subang and Sunway, it is not dangerous as long as it is done following JPJ guidelines.

Simon said Linerz motorsports cars that were highly modified could not be used on the normal highway as they could pose a danger to other road users.

“These cars are usually towed to the car show venues. Again it all depends on how low the chassis is modified as they may not be able to go over a hump and need to move over it in a “crab-like movement” so as not to damage the skirtings,’’ added Simon.

He said the public see owners of modified cars as people who race, endanger the public and make a nuisance of themselves.

He added that a Proton Waja was modified to look like a Mitsubishi-make and Perodua Myvi to look like a Toyota Passo TRD.

For those planning to buy the Myvi, there is a TRD bodykit for the Toyota equivalent which is the Toyota Passo.

One can modify their cars with front spoiler skirts to rear valence and side skirt packages and in some cases the aerodynamics of the car.

Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan said there were rules on car modifications listed on the JPJ website but that despite this, car enthusiasts were running foul of the law.

Daihatsu launches the Partially Redesigned Myvi
DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD. (Daihatsu) and Perodua, Daihatsu’s joint venture vehicle manufacture and sales company in Selangor, Malaysia, today announced the minor redesign of a compact car, the Myvi. An event to mark the launch of the new vehicle was held in Kuala Lumpur on the evening of August 22.
The Myvi was developed jointly by Perodua and Daihatsu in May 2005. Since then the vehicle has been a top-selling model, with cumulative sales exceeding 252,000 units, and has been well-received by a wide range of users across generational lines. Both the interior and the exterior of the vehicle have been redesigned. The annual sales target is 7,000 units and the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices range between 39,500 MYR and 49,700 MYR (approximately 1.20 to 1.53 million yen).
The new Myvi (standard grade) offers the following features:

Highly refined sporty styling
New seat cover and instrument panel color to enhance the soothing feel of the cabin space
Advanced features such as a car audio system that can be connected to digital media and UV cut glass that reduces the penetration of UV rays

It seems that more and more people are deciding to make the transition from the 9-5 grind to the freedom that comes with working from home. The internet affords hundreds of thousands of people the opportunity to work online from the comforts of their own homes. The massive use of popular social media networks and tools has made working from home more possible than ever.

Today i have got some pictures and i think it is now buzzing around in the internet. There are now much of aftermarket part for MYVI i we think it is not going to make any huge impact. But it is still kinda nice.

A facelift Perodua Myvi SE will be launch on the 10th October 2008. Eventhough it is not yet officially launched, the new Myvi has been available in showrooms the past week now.
I got to see on the road yesterday, notice the front design is a bit small with a large wheel base at the bottom. Other specifications new front and rear bumper, sideskirts, rear spoiler, new sports rims, blue outlined Optitron meter panel, chromed muffler tip, leather seats, and silver trim for center console.

On the interior, we can see that certain models have had their integrated stereo system replaced with a 2-DIN slot, filled with a 2-DIN player that is likely MP3 capable as a USB slot for thumbdrives or other USB-capable MP3 players can be seen. There is also a shot of a dashboard which shows a 6,800rpm redline: a new engine option?

Perodua has launched a facelifted Perodua Myvi SE 2008 on the 10th of October 2008. Check out full details, photos and prices via the linked text.
Perodua has released a new special edition variant of the hugely successful Perodua Myvi called the Perodua Myvi Special Edition, or the Perodua Myvi SE for short. These photos are courtesy of reader Rufus King who snapped them while he was sending his Perodua in for service.
Basically, it’s a Perodua Myvi fitted with the sporty bodykit that’s found on the Perodua Myvi Sports that was showed at the KLIMS last year, also the same one as the Toyota Passo TRD bodykit, and the Daihatsu Boon X4, without the hood scoop for the Boon X4′s intercooler of course.
I would think a hood scoop would look weird with the current curve of the Perodua Myvi SE‘s bonnet anyway. There’s also the odd position of the front number plate – it’s slightly to the left.
Headlamps and bonnet are the same, but we’re not here to see what’s the same as the standard issue Perodua Myvi, we want to know what’s changed! Here are the changes in point form for easy reading:

Not sure how much the price for this 2007 Perodua Myvi Special Edition, so I’ll be heading into the showrooms tomorrow to find out… this post will be updated with new info then.

The premium model Perodua Myvi comes with a 1.3 DVVT DOHC engine designated the K3-VE. This same engine is used in most 1.3 Daihatsus like the Daihatsu YRV, and of course the Toyota Avanza and the Perodua Kembara DVVT.

To make the Daihatsu YRV go even faster, Daihatsu added a turbocharger with an intercooler to it’s already powerful K3-VE engine. This makes the engine have one of the highest output and torque for an engine of it’s class. The turbocharger kicks in from low-boost RPMs to provide excellent driveability. The DVVT mechanism continuously adjusts the valve timing according to engine speed.

This makes the K3-VET a formidable performance engine. You can enjoy thrilling power at high-end RPMs and hard weight-pulling torque at low RPM.

A K3-VET in a Perodua Myvi will be FAST! The Myvi is only 953kg, and the K3-VET puts out 140ps. That’s some crazy power-to-weight ratio. The downside is YRV half-cuts only come in 4-speed automatic. Manual fanboys will have to find some other alternative.

These photos are from the media review and test drive track session held by Perodua at the Sepang International Circuit. So here’s the Myvi rainbow, there are 7 colours. Not the same as the colours of the rainbow of course. Your choices are Ebony Black, Klasik Gold, Glittering Silver, Mocca Silver, Ozzy Orange, Mistik Red and Olive Green.

I personally dig the Mistik Red and Ebony Black ones… they look absolutely hot! Just imagine a black Myvi, polished nicely to a blinding shine, full side skirts and front lip, nice sports rims, coming around the corner with HID lights… absolutely delicious!

For all you people who are planning to buy the Perodua Myvi, there’s a TRD bodykit out there for the Toyota equivalent which is the Toyota Passo. Can’t wait to see Myvis on the road with this kit slapped on. Looks darn good.

Here’s the next newcomer to the Malaysian automobile market – the Perodua MyVI. It’s based on a Daihatsu Boon. Rumours say that it will come with a 1.3 liter DVVT engine and 1.0 DVVT models. The 1.3 should be the same K3-VE found in the Kembara DVVT and the Toyota Avanza, and the 1.0 should be just a smaller displacement version of it. Prices will be between 42,000 ringgit to 52,000 ringgit.

This is the original Daihatsu Boon. It’s available in 1 liter 2WD and 4WD configurations and 1.3 liter 2WD configuration.

Why Myvi? I’ve heard someone say the My means Malaysia and the VI represents the sixth car that Perodua has come up with. Kancil, Rusa, Kembara, Kelisa, Kenari… yup. The Myvi is the sixth. There are also other explanations to what MyVI means, such as Malaysian Vision, My Vision and My Vehicle.

I’ll predict that Daihatsu YRV turbo halfcuts will be even more in demand now

For a limited period, Perodua customers – especially ladies – who want a more ‘personalised’ Myvi can choose the new LE version, available Ivory White, Ebony Black and a new colour, Dazzling Red.

“This new version sports a gorgeous makeover on the interior and the cheery exterior to appeal to the young and hip ladies who want to make a statement with a car that matches their lifestyle,” Perodua Managing Director Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

“We are confident that the 1.3-litre Myvi LE will appeal to the young and urban female buyers. We also understand that lady drivers place great importance on having the vanity mirror in their car, hence the inclusion of a vanity mirror on the driver’s side as well,” he added

The Myvi LE, available only with automatic transmission, comes with additional features. The interior has new trim colours, seat fabric, door inner handles, exclusive carpet mats and decorative cubic printing on the centre cluster as well as the door trim armrests.

Also included are dual airbags for the driver and front passenger, along with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Apart from the new body colour, the exterior of the Myvi LE is fitted with smoke-coloured clear rear combination lamps and side door mouldings. A ‘Limited Edition’ badge identifies this exclusive version as well.

“All these features come for just an additional RM1,700 compared with the 1.3 Standard AT version of the Myvi,” En Aminar said. This means it has a pricetag of RM48,600 (metallic finish, RM500 less for non-metallic). The Perodua Myvi is a supermini/subcompact hatchback manufactured by Malaysian car maker Perodua since 2005. Based on the second generation Daihatsu Sirion/Boon and Toyota Passo, the Myvi is the result of Perodua's collaboration with both Toyota and Daihatsu. The Myvi is the best selling car for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in Malaysia.

The Myvi boasts either one of two water-cooled, four-stroke engines derived from the first generation Daihatsu Sirion: A 1.0 litre EJ-VE engine with three in-line cylinders, or the Toyota Passo: 1.3 litre K3-VE engine with four in-line cylinders; both engines employ Dynamic Variable Valve Timing (DVVT) systems and conventional electronic fuel injection (EFI).

In addition to raw performance, features previously uncommon on Perodua cars were inherited from the Sirion to the Myvi. Among them are 4-hole injectors, foamed urethane injected to the A-pillar, centre pillar and B-pillar for noised insulation, immobiliser systems and pedestrian injury reduction body construction. Other notable features include underbody air flow regulating items, resin intake manifolds and cylinder headcovers integrated with air cleaner cases (for 1.0 engines) and flexible flywheels for reduced vibration during running (for manual transmission).

Reception

The launch of the Perodua Myvi was significant as it marked first time Perodua competed head-to-head with Proton, the first Malaysian national car maker, which would release a similarly classed Proton Savvy.

The Myvi 1.3 beat its rival, the Proton Savvy 1.2, as the "Car of the Year 2005/2006" by Autocar ASEAN, a magazine for car buyers in Malaysia. The Edge Daily, a local financial news media reported that Myvi sales have far surpassed its initial expectations and has been selling extremely well since its rollout in April.

Proton's Savvy, available to the market a few months after the launch of the Myvi, had not affected Myvi sales. Observing the strong demand for the Myvi, it boosted sales of vehicles in the country and Perodua's market share in 2006.
