Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is confident the launch special edition model Myvi New (SE) Special Edition / Edition Sports featuring new features and capture more robust before the end of this year, could strengthen its position sebgai local automotive leader.

Based on reports Automotive Association of Malaysia (MAA) recently, sales of Kia vehicles in Pakistan ahead of January to June 2008, ie 83.588 units with 32.9 percent market share.

Managing Director, Datuk Syed Abdul Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar, said the special edition model is likely to be introduced to the market after Hari Raya.

He said the proposed issue special edition model is made based on the encouraging response to Myvi model which contributes 50 percent to annual sales performance of Perodua.

Myvi special edition model is expected to show features more attractive and modern as well as a more aerodynamic improvements.
"We believe that production of this special edition will be well received customer, coupled with the launch of the new Myvi model, recently," he said this.

Last month, Perodua Myvi launched in the market that show streamlined several improvements to the design of internal and external.

Asked about the production of Myvi sedan, he said, although demand for sedan cars developed following the introduction of the new Proton Saga Proton issued recently, Kia will remain focused on production of compact cars.

"We will focus on production as existing compact cars such as the Myvi and Viva.

"We will focus on compact cars with smaller engine capacity but to save fuel," he said.

Perodua myvi which usually occurs in the way of Malaysia. This is similar to the Daihatsu Sirion / Toyota Passo in Japan. Since its launch, thousands of units were sold, making it one of the best-selling vehicles in Malaysia. My review unit is ezi 1.3L version with ABS, EBD and airbags.

Exterior & Design: Functional and cute seem to mind when I think the myvi. Cape short front and a large cabin and cold. Appear side by side on the mirror as standard repeaters. A roof wing that was added in version ezi to be sportier. Ezi version that comes with 14-inch alloy wheels.

Interior: myvi manage to produce a great effect inner space in a small part. This is on the roof of a high quality and careful design and easy. Dashboard is a basic and easy to control. An integrated FM radio with CD changer standard. Slightly higher seating position and all controls are within reach of the driver. It is easy to obtain, in and out of the myvi. The space behind the trunk of a good and relatively large for such a small car. Space for luggage is not infinite, with folding rear seat.

Headmaster Lai Kum Ming, who won a Perodua Myvi SE in the week’s Power of 9 contest, will have an extra special 25th year wedding anniversary celebration with his wife, whom he believes brought him luck in winning the prize.

The 53-year-old said his wife, Lim Bee Hong, 47, a lecturer, was the best thing that has ever happened to him and calls her his lucky charm for bringing a lot of happiness in his life.

“I believe that she brought me good luck in this contest as well, because she buys The Star newspaper for me everyday,” he said when met at the 1 Utama shopping mall here yesterday.

Lai won the car when he entered the contest which required participants to answer “true or false’’ questions on the Star media group and Perodua. The tie breaker is determined by the participant signing The Star in the most creative way.
Jubilation: Lai jumping up for joy upon receiving the mock key to a Perodua Myvi SE at the 1 Utama shopping mall Sunday. Cheering him on is Lim.

“Our silver jubilee anniversary this year is made even more joyous because of this prize,” he said, adding that the new car would be given to one of his two daughters when they start working.

“I’ve been reading The Star since the mid-70s. I think I would be lost if I didn’t have a copy to read,” he said.

The nine-week competition which started on July 13 will enter its final week today. For the last week, eight winners will receive RM3,999 each, with the grand prize winner walking away with a Perodua Myvi SE.

GSC cinema vouchers worth RM80 each will also be given away to 90 winners every week.

Perodua MyVi
The Perodua Myvi is a supermini/ subcompact car launched in 2005 by Malaysian car maker Perodua. The Myvi was the result of Perodua's collaboration with Toyota and Daihatsu. Based on the second generation Daihatsu Sirion/Boon, the MyVi is also similar in design as the Toyota Passo.

The 1 liter Myvi which is the Perodua Myvi 1.0SR will be using the EJ-VE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC engine, an upgraded version of the EJ-DE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC found in the Kenari/Kelisa.
