More than two years ago, I quit my day job. But not seeing my “berks” (close friends) didn’t stop us from communicating with each other thru email, text messages or even a phone call. I don’t know how the four of us clicked together for we are from different departments. They have their own cliques before I joined URC and months after working with many unhappy, overbearing people, I woke up one day realizing that I gained 3 loyal and true friends…oh, 4 actually, including my dependable Nurse Assistant!

Standing against all odds is my flight in a one-man department in the plant. I am a fighter, I can even dare to disagree and question the plant manager and other managers but the pressure working with unhappy, critical, and hypocrite people is too much that my berks served as my absorber. I am too thankful that they’ve been supportive of all the HR initiatives without too much fuss.

Anyway, one year after my resignation, I got a call from one of my “berks”. She came in choppy at first (obviously they need a cell phone signal booster inside the building and I remember discussing about it with one of the representatives of Digitel before I resigned) but when I told her we will meet for a buffet dinner, she heard me right clearly!LOL. That is one of the favorite bonding time during my URC days…E-A-T-I-N-G.

That same evening, we met. We had dinner and endless catching up with each other.

me, Mama Nancy, Ate Elvie, Rose, Mama Juliet

Then we decided to visit People’s Park which is two blocks away from where we had dinner

Hmmm….excuse the uniform pants. That’s what we call “many forms”.LOL. Mama Juliet is in her new prescribed office uniform while Ate Elvie and Mama Nancy are in their operations uniform. I can’t recall who among the two are wearing the correct pants that time.

Now it’s been more than a year since I have seen them all. It’s high time once again to meet-up and update each other with plant happenings and with each other’s personal lives. Can’t wait to see my “berks” again!

Whew! Post marathon early in the morning! I wasn’t able to work on it last night so I am making up for my absence. Need to do as much as I can because of this…

and this…

A few more weeks and I’ll get my hands on those loots.

Photos are grabbed from Faye’s flickr® but not everybody could see her stream now so if you wanna reward yourself from working hard, check out Faye’s blog. Shopping again? My Coach bag is late birthday gift, the DKNY watch is a late Holiday gift and the Lacoste beach bag is a late Valentine gift.hahaha. Is that enough justification?

Since we’re done with shopping for our clothes late last year, it’s accessories this time. Of course I don’t wanna go out and look like a person from the cave – without an eye for fashion like wearing floral capri and stipes top or checkered bermuda shorts and stripes top (both in dark colors that doesn’t complement with each other) with printed bag in bold colors. Ewww! Where did the basic in dressing up that is taught in Home Economics during 5th or 6th grade go? Regardless if we don’t have lots of money, even if we don’t have insurances like disability insurance and the like, as long as I and Ace does not look like a WALKING RUG (imagine the rug made of scrap cloth in different colors), we’re fine. It’s looking good and feeling good that matters regardless if it’s branded or brand-less (though I prefer those with brands now because of its quality and it is not overly mass produced).

Despite of the handful of tasks that I should finish yesterday, we still went to my sister’s place late afternoon and arrived home around 10PM…safe and sound. Thanks God for the safe drive. I am sure Ace would complain I am not an easy passenger because I kept on looking at the odometer and when I feel we’re going fast and the odometer registers we’re at around 40kph, I reprimand him to slow down. I am not used at riding road bike in the city where there’s a lot of wreckless and undisciplined drivers so I am just nervous. The entire trip, I kept on uttering a prayer to keep us safe.LOL. Maybe if we drive more often I will learn to relax.

When we arrived there, my sister’s hand painted personalized gifts such as pillows and scrolls she’s making are all over their living area. Her items will be sold in Crafts Corner in Gaisano Mall and that explains why my laptop sleeve isn’t done yet. I was planning to take a photo of the pillows and decorative scrolls while I was holding Eman and as soon as my hands are free, I forgot to take out the camera. I’ll take photos next time or maybe later because we’re planning to go there so we could take a bath. We don’t have water here since last night (when we arrived) until 4PM today that I was so pissed because water district isn’t efficient (as always) in disseminating the information to the affected concessionaires. They posted the announcement in their website and maybe had their public information officer guested in the local morning show where not everyone with TV were able to watch. They should have public service ads running during primetime when everybody’s hooked in front of the TV. I still have lots to do today but I might push it aside so we could go to my sister’s place and have a refreshing bath. We don’t have water hence we cannot take a bath and cook.

My sister Carol is selling her handcrafted baby sling and cloth diapers for months and she has served a lot of happy customers already. That made her very busy that I cannot ask her to sew window curtains and pillow cases for me because I don’t know how to sew. I wanna learn actually and I am planning to borrow her sewing machine months ago. But since she started her small business, the sewing machine has been very busy that I just cannot borrow it for a week – enough for me to learn the basics of sewing.

Now she’s into another sewing project that would be very useful for laptops, notebooks and netbooks owners. She’s now figuring out how to sew sleeves! She asked me one time how many I would order from her because she’ll start making one. I only need one, actually because I am not going out bringing with me my laptop. Hope the laptop sleeve will be out in the market soon so I can brag about it in my blogs.LOL

Ace is bugging me to get a new phone. My phone is still working but it is far outdated! We’re actually laughing at the fact that there’s a Nokia 2003 model (I don’t even know what particular model it is) inside my Satchy when we go out. I don’t have issues in using my phone before but lately I realized my phone is really outdated and I need a new one because it’s not that presentable now. I’m torn between an iPhone and Nokia (I can’t even remember it but it costs like a Blackberry) because I want something that is internet ready so I can still go online even if I am not at home. Not only that it is internet reay. I want a phone that goes with an unlimited access to the internet for free! Is there something like that in here? With the scheduled daily power interruption lately, I really wish I have now my dream cellphone so I can browse the net or even blog even if it’s brownout or a Bell internet errr Bell mobile internet that I could plug in the laptop so I could still go online. I just wish!

Sometimes I wish Ace is home all-the-time. It’s crazy being alone whole day…with just the cat and the dogs to accompany me. It’s been so quiet! Thanks goodness the TV has been repaired (after 2 months of waiting) at least there’s something that could keep me company when I wanted to stay away from the computer. I even came to a point of considering to adopt a baby and Ace is amenable with it. We’re not just lucky because the DSWD adoption help desk in SM isn’t there anymore last weekend. Sometimes I silently pray that somebody will leave a baby in our gate and we will surely accept it.

Anyway, sometimes Ace wishes he’s working from home too. He might be tired of being a corporate slave (oh well, I am still a corporate slave but not in the office setting). I told him to start blogging as his sideline just to have a feel of the online world. Who knows he might find an online job in the long run. Now we’re in the dilemma of thinking for a domain name so he could also start blogging. It’s been weeks since we’re brainstorming for a nice and catchy domain name. I want a domain that speaks of itself, I mean with just the domain name, one would know what the site is all about like www.jointsupplementreviews.net. Hope we could think of a nice name soon before Ace will lost his interest in blogging.

My worst fear in getting a road bike just happened. It’s an SOP that Ace would call me when he arrives at work every morning to tell me how his driving went. One morning last week, he called and my worst fear has happened. He met an accident. It wasn’t actually his fault but I can’t help but tell him “I told you so…”. Nothing serious happened and the the road bike just had a scratch that doesn’t need a repair. Otherwise I would have a heart attack if Ace is hurt or there’s major damage in the road bike because we might not afford to have it repaired though it might probably cost much lesser compared to rv repair. Glad he wasn’t hurt but I wanna kick myself for giving in to his want of getting a road bike. Oh well, I can’t do anything about it. It’s an accident and he never wanted it to happen so I told myself to calm down. Afterall, nobody’s hurt and no major damages. Thanks to HIM for keeping Ace safe.

One of my best buddies during HS whom I have last seen during my wedding more than two years ago.

It was so nice to see Verj during Gizelle’s wedding. Though we haven’t seen each other for years, seems nothing has changed, seems it was just yesterday when we last met.

It’s been a while since I played with our toy (our Canon 400D) so I considered playing it with water and light. I was challenged to try it since I saw a photo in flickr. I love taking photos with slow shutter for I am a fan of angel hair effect of the water. Hence this is my first time to try taking a photo of flowing water with a flash. Quite interesting!

Wish our faucet is one of the Toto sink faucets so it’s more presentable (well, at least for me because I want everything to look nice and presentable. Thanks to my late mother for that trait.). If this is our own home, then I would have asked Ace to install Toto faucets and Toto toilets instead of those cheapo ones. Hmmm…then I’ll wait for that time when we have full control over our place.

For more than 3 years I was wanting to have a taste of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Since I heard about it from colleagues who are based in the country’s capital, I always dreamt to have a bite of that doughnut. But I’ve got no chance of buying it since there’s no Krispy Kreme outlet here in Davao and I am loyal with Hotloops Doughnuts (URC’s doughnuts) when I was still working.

Due to so much craving of Krispy Kreme, I made sure we will bring home Krispy Kreme from our Manila getaway last year. Hence, before heading to the airport to catch our flight to Davao, we dropped by SM Mall of Asia to buy my most sought-after doughnuts and we brought home not one but 5 dozens of it!

We love the original glazed more than the filled and other variants. So yummy! Would you believe we consumed 3 and a half dozen of those doughnuts? That’s what you call doughnut overload!
