Self-empowerment is a hot topic right now, as many people are seeking ways to become more confident and feel a greater sense of purpose in their daily life.

Here are 3 tips to becoming self-empowered that you can start implementing right away:

1.  Train your mind to stay neutralize resistance: If you think about it, the number one factor that perpetuates any pain, mediocrity, or inner conflict is resisting or judging what is taking place in the current moment.  Self-empowerment is a direct result of training your mind to let go of the compulsive need to wish things were different than they are right now.  By relaxing the mind into reality as it is, we open ourselves up to increasingly liberating and powerful energies within ourselves.

2.  Give yourself permission to go into the discomfort of your life: So much of the self-help movement is focused around feeling good and visualizing what you want.  In my experience, a major block to actualizing what we want is habitually avoiding what we don’t want.  Many people use the law of attraction as a way to turn their backs on the dimensions of life that cause pain.  For instance, if you hate paying the bills and therefore do anything possible to avoid them, visualizing being financially free will be useless to you… until you can go into the discomfort of paying bills and reclaim your power from whatever fear or block is there for you.  Our daily life offers us constant opportunity to go into discomfort; the more you can lean into it, the more you will reclaim your power.  It’s as simple as that.

3.  Recognize the open nature of who you are and reality itself: Many of the ancient spiritual traditions agree that life is ultimately an illusion, that there is no solid reality to the conventional world.  We are conditioned to be terrified of the vast and empty nature of who we are, yet this is exactly where we can discover the most profound form of liberation.  Be willing to suspend who you think you are and what life is about.  The more you can hang out in the mystery, the more you will naturally experience a state of power and flow to your life.

When we search for MLM businesses online, we come across a large number of them flashing right in front of us.   There’s a lot to choose from. Then we so get excited to join one. We read through testimonies, money-making opportunities, and the financial freedom that it can bring us.

True enough, there are great opportunities that MLM businesses can offer but there’s one element that is crucial to your success– if you don’t have it, there’s just no way you will prosper:  MLM Leadership. In order to achieve success in your MLM business, you have to be effective and efficient as a leader to your downline.  In the same way, you will need effective leadership and guidance as you are starting out in your opportunity.

Most people join network marketing opportunities with high hopes and little commitment.  They are looking for the ‘next big thing’ that will make them rich with little to no effort.  If that is your motivation, I will save you a lot of time, money, and frustration when I offer the following advice:  Just quit now.

The people who truly prosper in MLM are leaders.  They want to guide others to success; they love helping people reach their goals.  They are not just in it for themselves; they want to make a real difference in the world.  Sure, generating passive income is a fantastic thing.  But the true success in MLM comes from the fulfillment one gets from helping others reach their goals of life and financial freedom.

In this sense, you want to position yourself as a trusted leader and resource whose main goal is to help as many people as possible.  If you are out there spamming your biz opp all over Twitter and Facebook, or you are aggressively trying to recruit your friends and family, I invite you to consider another path.

You don’t want to appear as desperate, aggressive, or tactless in your approach.  These qualities convey the antithesis of leadership.  Your main objective should be to team up with a mastermind of entrepreneurs who are committed to personal and financial development through integrity.

That is the only way I have ever found to achieving true wealth.  Sure, you can make some short-term money in this indsutry if you’re just in it for yourself, but that money will not last, nor will you be internally fulfilled through the process.

The negative perception that so many have of network marketing is entirely due to people being greedy and selfish in their motivations.  This is a beautiful, abundant, and incredibly industry to be a part of when you are surrounded by the right team, you have the right leadership, and you have the right intentions.

Become an MLM leader.  Put that goal before making money and see what happens.  People will be way more attracted to you and your company.

Back in the day, when the existence of the internet was not yet available to mankind, everything was going at a much slower pace.  A good salesman would go door to door to introduce and sell his product and get a commission. A lot of hard work just for the money. Today, the majority of the world’s population turn to the internet to get a grasp of the newest trends.

If you have been searching for business opportunities lately, most probably you have come across things like residual income or residual income business opportunities. Many times too, you may have thought and  read about it but you just never decided to go into it because you are not so sure if it will bring you the financial freedom it guarantees. To tell you the truth, I too did have some second thoughts. There’s a lot of information available right in front of us that we just don’t know what to believe in anymore. It’s always safer to ask around than to assume before making any decisions.

You can also join  online group forums for residual income business opportunities so in that way you may be able to see how things are working for them. In these forums, both positive and negative aspects are expressed and discussions and group sharing can be a helpful way of influencing your decision to join the residual income business opportunity band wagon. But then again, you must be able to weigh the opinions of others.

Remember, the success of the business does not entirely rely on the structure alone; it depends on how dedicated the individual is to reach his goal of success. Dedication and hard work is vital.

Learn what attracts them and what does not. If you’ve mastered your MLM business in and out, it’s safe to say that by then you’re knowledgeable of the things that you’ll be needing.

Make use of online Marketing resources on the internet.  This would definitely put you in touch with techniques, strategies, or secrets of some experts who have seen the light of day when it comes to marketing their MLM business online and how to make money in MLM.  Soak up some helpful training before you do anything.  Remember, nobody fools the informed. When we talk about increasing our MLM network business,  the next question that comes to mind is, how  are we going to do it? There are a lot of  MLM network marketing training programs out there and everybody who has patterned their approach to this and that, claims it worked wonders for them. Sure, that’s possible but it depends. What has worked for them may not work for you at all.

Let me tell you this– in order for you to succeed in the network marketing industry, on top of everything else, its very crucial that for one, you will be able to find the effective MLM network marketing training for your business. A lot of people nowadays just jump into network marketing without doing a bit of research before taking the plunge. Training is very important in order to gain success in this industry. You’ve heard the stories of the people who through good fortune aligned themselves with a brand spanking new MLM company in a prelaunch phase. Because of their favorable position in the company, they go on to rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing little to no work.

Are these stories real? Sure they are, but they are very rare. I see a lot of network marketers chasing after brand new MLM opportunities because they believe that their success boils down to their position with the company. They cross their fingers that the company does well so they can sit back and soak up the profits.

If you are trying to build your MLM in this fashion, just know that this is not that different from playing the lottery. Your chances of any lasting success are very, very low.

Now, don’t get me wrong–it is great if you can get in with a promising company in a prelaunch phase. I would NOT, however, put all of your eggs in this basket. What is far more important than the positioning you have within your company is the level of skill and knowledge you have developed when it comes to marketing and prospecting.

You can still do very, very well in a more established company IF you understand marketing and prospecting and you take consistent action. That is why there are still people who swear by companies like Usana and Amway. These companies have good reputations and there are indeed many people who create financial independence through these opportunities (although the vast majority do not).

The main factor in your success really boils down to how well-developed you are as an entrepreneur, both in terms of your mindset and your marketing systems. Most network marketers take these factors for granted and they give a lot of their power to their outer circumstances.

I would rather join a company I was truly passionate about and that I could market with 100% integrity than one whose only positive is that they are brand new to the marketplace. Learn to market your opportunity, regardless of whether you are with an established company or one in prelaunch.

Now, the ideal combination of factors is when the company is relatively new AND you are truly passionate about the product/service you are promoting. This is exceptionally rare in this industry. I spent 7 years searching for it and did not find it until quite recently. Be well, learn to market, and develop yourself on a personal level.. this advice is far more important than how new your company is.

What I am about to share with you has taken me YEARS to really understand, implement, and respect as a universal law of business success.  What I have discovered is that there is absolutely no way we can enjoy infinite success as a business owner if we don’t strike a very conscious balance between the two qualities I am about to share.

From what I have witnessed, I would estimate that only about 5% of us are naturally endowed with equal strengths in both of these qualities.  The vast majority of us are MUCH stronger at one than the other.  This is the exact reason why so many entrepreneurs struggle to really achieve the results they are looking for.

What is boils down to is this:

In order to create a business model that is liberating, scalable, purposeful, financially rewarding, and highly leveraging of our time, we absolutely must have 2 qualities— a BIG vision and a consistent, daily systems.

1.  Vision– Believe it or not, I believe this is the quality that most people are lacking.  Our modern world has largely forgotten how to dream.  We are complacent.  We have been taught to settle for a mere fraction of what we are capable of achieving.  It almost sounds burdensome to consider going for more than we have.

Most entrepreneurs decide they want to tread their own path in life because they get hit with a flicker of light, a passion or an ideal for something WAY BEYOND the life they are currently living.  Yet all too often, this inner light gets obscured as they are faced with the obstacles of running their own business.  That voice of doubt, guilt or shame all too easily creeps in and undermines their vision for what they KNOW to be true.

Business success always starts with a powerful idea… a kind of inner knowing that we have something of great value to offer others.. an often irrational voice of courage and power that wants to assert itself and make a profound mark on this world.

The thing is, this inner knowing needs to be refreshed every single day.  Great entrepreneurs create success rituals in their daily life that keep this voice of excitement and vision with them at all times, especially when obstacles arise.

Let me ask you right now, are you 100% clear on the vision of your ideal life, your ideal business, the value you undoubtedly have to offer this world, the unique purpose that has brought you here in the first place?  Do you hold this vision with you at all times?  Does this vision feel much bigger than just you as a separate self?  Does it produce a sense of awe within you?

If you are able to answer ‘yes’ to each of these questions, then you have an absolutely unshakable foundation of strength and prosperity to draw from that nothing outside of you can ever take away.  The honest truth is that most of us have some inner work to do in this regard.  After all, this vision is the root of our success.  If we try to become wealthy or free without this inner clarity, there will be no real foundation upon which to build.

2.  Consistent systems–  This is where I got stuck for a long time.  I had the vision– I could feel, touch, taste, and see outrageous success.  I knew that I was destined for something far greater than mediocrity.  The problem is that I totally lacked the consistent daily systems and action steps that would ultimately lead to my BIG goals.

A lot of visionaries are guilty of this–and it is the exact cause of all of their confusion and struggle.  You see, if you aren’t consistent, organized, methodical, and detail-oriented, you will CRUMBLE as an entrepreneur.  Vision can only take you so far.  The rest of your success is totally dependent on how you manage the daily details of your life and business.

I don’t care what business you are in, if any of the following systems are not being acknowledged consistently, the business will suffer:

• bookkeeping/money management systems
• paying bills on time
• following up with customers on time
• marketing strategies that produce consistent exposure and leads
• customer reactivation systems
• word-of-mouth referral systems
• debt repayment systems
• customer prospecting and networking systems

Now, here’s the thing:  If you have a really clear and strong vision for what you want to see happen in your business AND you marry that with daily attention to the above-mentioned systems, there is absolutely no way you can fail as an entrepreneur.

Think about that.  You are guaranteed success if you have all of this in place.  So I ask you, what is your weak link?  Are you lacking vision or systems?  Or perhaps both?  Can you see where you are constraining your attempts at success?

Whatever your business challenges are, see if you can keep it really simple and narrow it down to a lack of vision or a lack of systems.

Once you are clear on your weak link, you then need to figure out what to do about it.  If you lack vision, you need a visionary on your team who can help you.  (Email me on this and we can set up a coaching session–this is my specialty).

If you lack systems, you need to do what I did and get a team of people around you who can are are exceptional at implementing the right actions steps on a daily basis.

Don’t spend too much time trying to fix your weaknesses.  Instead, delegate the things you struggle with to someone who makes it look easy.  Focus on your strengths and keep building them.  This will gather momentum and create more confidence and power in your actions.

Several years ago when I graduated from high school, I remember the declaration I made to myself. I was going to enter college with a completely fresh and optimistic attitude. I was going to work really hard and do whatever it took to get a 4.0 grade point average.

I knew that my purpose in life at that time was to tap into a new level of my potential so I could truly excel for the first time ever. I was excited and hopeful.

In my first semester, I put every ounce of will power I had into the process and forced myself to conform to the expectation I had of myself. I did get a 4.0– but at my core I hated every minute of it. After that semester, I just could not sustain the will power and I started to ‘check out’ of the college learning environment altogether.

I actually endured 3 long years of this until one day I knew that I could not stand it for another minute. I spontaneously dropped out and applied to Naropa University which is a very liberal, private college focusing on Buddhist studies in Boulder, Colorado.

This opened some incredible new doors in my life and gave me my first real taste of freedom in the educational setting.

Now, here is the first lesson I learned from this experience:

I spent 3 loooong years using will power and force to do something that was not in accordance with my higher calling on this planet. That is 3 years of fighting against universal law… all because I had an internal voice of expectation telling me what I ’should’ do.

Most of us end up wasting a lot of time because we listen to that voice. We stay in jobs we dislike; we whither away in marriages that no longer serve us; we hold onto houses or possessions that clutter our lives.

And the only reason we do this is because we don’t really question our assumptions. We think, ‘that’s just the way it is.’ Our minds become convinced that we do not have a choice in the situation.

Life purpose comes to us when we have the courage and the honesty to face reality as it is without excuses or justifications for why we are stuck. We always, always have a choice in each moment… and the fundamental choice we make is to open or close, to embrace or postpone reality, to identify with love or fear.

In my book the Purpose Principle, I talk a lot about getting it in a whisper. This means that we can acknowledge the red flags that show up early on when we are disconnected from our purpose.

In my experience, this is one of the most important skills we can develop in life.  In our modern world, we are deeply conditioned tolerate mediocre, substandard circumstances.  We are taught that it’s actually a responsible way to live to buy into our limiting beliefs and to settle for a life that is way below the standard of our true life’s purpose.

What I am suggesting is that you stop doing this–and you make your real purpose the absolute #1 priority on this planet.

When things aren’t going the way you want, it does not mean that the universe is punishing you or that you should use it as further evidence for the fact that you can’t be, do, or have anything you truly desire.  All that’s happening is that the universe is trying to wake you up!

In fact, the harder things get, the more life seems to be unraveling in front of you, the more opportunity you have to awaken to your life’s purpose.

Remember, the biggest danger we all face is that we tolerate mediocrity for far too long.  We convince ourselves that this is just how we are supposed to live–that we are holding up our end of the bargain.  We believe this because we see so many people around us doing the same thing.

Be one of the few (maybe 1%) who chooses to get it in a whisper.  Be one of the few who decides to awaken in this very moment. By doing this, you will tap into a higher dimension of reality that everyone is silently longing for, yet few actualize.

Some people say the network marketing industry is a thing of the past.  I would take the exact opposite stance and say that network marketing is the wave of the future.

I am really encouraged by many of the trends I am seeing the network marketing industry.  More entrepreneurs are realizing that the only way to really succeed in this industry is to help others, be authentic, and share a lot of value.  With the incredible power of the internet, this can be done on a truly massive scale.

It used to be that you had to limit your marketing to the people in your warm market including your friends, family, and co-workers.  This is one of the main reasons why many people HATE network marketing and swear it off for the rest of their lives.  This really is a tragedy, as pitching your biz opp to aunt Patty is no longer necessary (or recommended for that matter).

My family members and most of my friends have no idea I am even involved in network marketing.  I leave them alone because they are NOT my market.  Who is?  The millions of people on the internet who are looking for solutions to their problems, which include:

• a lack of marketing expertise or knowledge
• a need to boost their self-esteem and perceived value
• poorly organized marketing systems which don’t generate consistent leads
• weak sales skills

There are countless people out there looking for help in these areas.  I recommend that you position yourself in front of them if you really want to create incredible success in this industry.

You can use entirely free marketing strategies to build your relationships on the social media sites.  You can do this in a way that literally attracts people to you who are already interested in what you have to offer.  It used to be that you had to force yourself to take uncomfortable steps to start building a strong business.

These days, you just need to understand and apply the principle of attraction marketing.  You can use a funded proposal system that you can plug your personal info into and start generating leads very quickly from people all over the world.

I know what it’s like to fail in network marketing.  In my first company, I tried everything to be successful–but none of the marketing I did worked.  It was painful and felt forced to me.  I poured my heart and soul into that business and could only recruit 2 people.

Now that I know how to market online, it’s a completely different story.  I am enjoying a lot more success and having a lot more fun this time around.   This is all due to the internet.

Network marketing is STILL the best business model to create long-term residual income that will totally set you free on a financial level.  There is no other way to leverage the efforts of other in such a powerful way.

Now that there are automated lead generation systems that help you build authentic relationships, it is clear that network marketing is the way to go.
