More at 2kewl4u.com - District 9 (D9) is a rare movie I watched without knowing much beyond its basic premise and cryptic / lame print ad campaign (didn't see any trailer). All I had was the word of mouth of a couple of friends. Well let me sum it up here: do not find out what the movie is about, simply go see it as soon as possible

The problem with the modern movie experience is the abundance of media coverage: the trailers you see over and over, the so called viral campaigns and the Internet gushing or bashing. Another big one is overselling it which sets up impossible expectations (and I suppose this post does little to help)

This movie was very surprising, thoughtful, fulfilling and left me with questions after the credits rolled which is more than anything else I've seen this year or in recent memory. In other words District 9 is not boring

If you check these things, D9 currently has a rating of 8.7 at imdb, 87% at rotten tomatoes and 81 metacritic. There's also a wonderful review with the nyt but again I must encourage you to go watch D9 without further readings and dicussions. Wouldn't you rather be amazed? Sure disappointment is possible and people's taste differ but the alternative is really an exciting thought

More at 2kewl4u.com - Listia (listia.com) is a web site my good friends Gee & James created and it launched officially today

In a nutshell, it's like craigslist where you list stuff you want to get rid off but people bid on them, like an auction: "auctions for free stuff"

You bid with points (aka credits you get for joining, listing, and referrals) and the idea is the person who wants it most will get the item. I like that you list your stuff and only have to deal with one winner. And who knows, with the points you get you might even consider finding something you want. It's like the circle of life

How does Listia make money? Say you want something really bad and you run out of points: you can purchase them (example: 50 for $5, thru Paypal)

For those who want to do good, you can even set your proceeds to be given to charity

I listed a bunch of books and cds etc, it was really easy and it's cool that they are going to someone who wants them. Auctions last a week and you can have them get relisted automatically if there were no bids. You enter it once and you are done

Congratulations again dudes, check out some fun profile pics, you kids are pro
