The Wedding Photography Course in Edinburgh from Keystone Photography will teach you how to create beautiful wedding images – and make money doing it.

At the end of the two-day course, you’ll have in-depth knowledge of every aspect of wedding photography, from choosing equipment and planning the shoot through to selecting locations, getting the right poses and dealing with low light. You’ll be ready to manage every aspect of a wedding shoot and achieve exactly the image style that the happy couple are looking for.

An optional third day provides even more detail, with an overview of running a wedding photography business and a detailed look at digital workflow and post-production, with a particular emphasis on wedding images.

Base camp: how to find and choose the right premises
Selling yourself: how to market your services, including creating a website and using other marketing channels

Part 2 is a detailed look at digital workflow and post-production.

Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3: how to use these industry-standard image optimisation and editing packages. Including: exposure corrections, curves and levels, retouching techniques, layers and masks, colour corrections, mono conversions, and other techniques to take your photography to the next level.
Real life: the actual processes used by a working wedding photographer to enhance his pictures.
Saving time: how to use batch processing and other shortcuts to speed up the post-production workflow.

At the end of Day 3, you’ll understand the key requirements of setting up and running a wedding photography business. You’ll also have gained many valuable tips and tricks for getting the most out of image processing software, so every one of your shots fulfils its potential.

The fireworks extravaganza on the evening of Sunday 4^th Aug 2011 marked the end of the Edinburgh Festival and Keystone was there to capture it for the enjoyment of others at Edinburgh Princes Street Gardens.

The Edinburgh Festival Fireworks is one of the largest firework concerts in the world and this year was spectacular as always, lighting up the Edinburgh skyline to the tune of Tchaikovsky and Borodin from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. It was borderline rain towards the end when it started to spit but the Scottish weather held up to the delight of everybody and the concert ended with a mighty bang!

The day started with guests arriving at Loretto & St Michael Church Musselburgh in East Lothian. As the couple are from Norway guests came from many places outside of Scotland. The groom and best man greeted the wedding guests on arrival.

The latest wedding was from an Asian couple who got married in Musselburgh at Carberry Tower and had their wedding reception at The Quay Complex. Coming from Indian heritage myself I understand how important it is to be familiar with the many Asian customs and traditions that there are. With my background and experience in this area rest assured you are in the safest hands possible.

The big day started with photography of the bride getting ready at a hotel in Edinburgh, capturing the dress and detail shots as the bride got her hair and makeup done. I also made time to capture guests that were up from England who were also staying at the hotel. Afterwards I made my way to Carberry Tower in Musselburgh.

Carberry Tower is a great wedding venue for photographers and very popular for its architectural diversity and surrounding gardens. It was very well suited to this particular Indian wedding, and I photographed guests as they arrived to be greeted by the groom and best man.

This happy couple got married at Morningside Parish Church and the wedding reception was held at the historic Edinburgh City Chambers on the Royal Mile.

The photography started with bridal preparations with the brides close family. They got ready at a hotel in the Royal Mile around the corner from the Edinburgh City Chambers. I produced a balanced mix of colour and black and white reportage images of the hair and makeup getting done and also of all the lovely details.

After the ceremony there was traditional confetti shot but the wind was against us! I made use of the colourful spring grounds and blossom tree which was in full bloom for photos of the newly married couple and of guests.

The drinks reception followed at the Edinburgh City Chambers. The prestigious venue is a feast for the eyes with its many opulent furnished rooms and historical paintings throughout. As a photographer the City Chambers architecture is a great backdrop for weddings and I have been lucky to photograph there several times. I took plenty more photos of the bride and groom around the venue and in the Royal Mile.

A couple from Essex were looking to hire a professional wedding photographer to photograph their special occasion that was being hosted at the Dalmahoy Marriot Hotel and Country Club at Kirknewton in Edinburgh. The Dalmahoy is a splendid venue with its famous stone staircase and set in one thousand acres of parkland which incorporates its renowned golf course. Any wedding photographer would jump at the opportunity to photograph here.

The wedding day started with photos of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready in the bride’s room at the Dalmahoy Hotel. Hair, makeup, detail shots, and natural light portraits of the bride in her dress were all captured. With my unobtrusive reportage style of photography I did not get in the way and everyone was relaxed with me photographing in the background.

The arrival of guests was captured downstairs in the bar area, and I also had time to take some contemporary portraits of the groom, best man, and groomsmen outside before the ceremony.

I took reportage of the ceremony and the drinks reception was next. I used the stairway to capture photos which would have otherwise not been possible to do. I also took advantage of the amazing surroundings to produce a well rounded album full of various contemporary images.

The evening ended with a ceiledh band and more creative night photography followed as they danced the night away.
