Monteiths Bar in Edinburgh

Christy and I like to go out for a meal once every week if we can, and sometimes we’ll get together with friends and do something special.
Last week, Thursday July 2nd, Rob invited me out with his girlfriend Amy, and we went along with Stephen and Catherine too. Stephen also brought his cousin, who was [...]

June 2009 Earnings

June was a quiet month for me earnings wise as I have been concentrating on startup projects and not in a rush to sell anything. Adsense project me in just over $60 and I had a few quotes so we could say daily earnings we at $3.
I managed to bag a nice new name back [...]

To A Friend

I dedicate this post to my friend, Jamie Cockburn, who has sadly passed away after suffering from extremely fast acting leukemia. He continued to fight until the bitter end, surviving two leaks to the brain, nearly two weeks of chemotherapy twice a day and cardiac arrest. At 24, his life was stolen. The doctors decided [...]

Following a Strategy

I’ve never been one with patience to sit and wait, especially if I see something better come along. In business, I usually build, monetise then sell a website as the cash seem too good to pass on and I’ve spotted another idea.
I’ve said on multiple occasions that if I kept everything I’ve ever built, I’d [...]

Selling Leads

One of the ways I generated revenue with previous networks and continue to do so with my sunrooms site is by selling leads to related companies.
This game is difficult as the conversion rates can be lower than Adsense (2%) click through rates so traffic is key i.e. a good natural ranking in the SERPs.
However, there [...]

Germany Cancelled

My friends and I were supposed to go to Germany this month for the Haye vs Klitschko boxing fight, however as Haye is unable to compete due to a hand injury, the fight was cancelled.
We risk losing out on the cost of our flights and accommodation but I guess that’s a gamble you take when [...]

May 2009 Earnings

May saw little revenue (from Adsense) until the end of the month when a sale of a small network of sites was completed.
Total revenue: $1681.37
Daily Average: $54.24
Not a bad income considering little/no work has been done, hopefully I’ll sink my teeth into a new project this month and begin earning again.
Good luck with your pursuits,
Khalid.

A Little Frustrating

As you may already know, I’m quite quick at building, selling and moving on and I don’t like to hang about. I always like to move from project to project but since the last sale, I’ve yet to invest in anything else.
Whilst it is quite nice to take a break and have funds sitting in [...]

Review of BuyBlogComments.com

On April 16th I decided to test Jon Warass’ BuyBlogComments.com, part of his Developer-Hut.com network. His website certainly raves about their benefits yet I was slightly skeptical, especially as a number of people had posted negative reviews and many industry folk deemed it as grey/black hat seo.
I paid for 80 comments at a cost of [...]

Bebo Spam

I’ve been a member of Bebo.com for some time now and like my Facebook profile, it is kept private. I use it to display photos for friends to see and keep in touch with people I cannot see much.
I find it funny when spammers try to add my to Bebo to promote a sex site [...]
