Back with another food review, this is another one of my favourite places whenever I am craving some Dosas.

Nandus Dosa and Diner – Food Review – Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali (West)

Nandus Dosa is another one of my comfort food, whenever I am craving for some dosas. This is a go-to place if you are a lover of Dosas, the place is a small joint so don’t expect a fancy dining experience but the food will blow your mind.
Some of my recommendations –
Nandus Special Dosa – 5/5 – This is my go-to Dosa, its spicy, its savoury and everything in between. The bhaji is a blast of flavours.
Khakhra Dosa – 100/5 – This is something we discovered much later and boy did we miss it !!! As the name suggests, the dosa is literally like Khakhras (Gujju Snack), extremely crispy. Everyone I have taken to this place be it kids or elders they have loved it, must try.
Paneer Chilli Dosa – 4/5 – Another good one, this is not Chinese dosa but the filling is of Paneer and decently spicy. For me, the spiciest dosa is Nandus Special out of all the ones I have tried.
Paneer Makhani Dosa – 4/5 – Creamier take on paneer bhaji and this one was flavorful and interesting, much better than what we had expected, and not at all sweet so that was a plus.
Special Manchurian Dosa – 4/5 – This is definitely the Chinese take on the Dosa, It is extremely flavorful and spicy. An Indian-style Chinese take on Dosa and we loved it.
Jini Dosa – 4/5 – Another classic combination, we normally have standing Jini dosa however it’s comparatively mild in flavours, so good to have when you have something light in terms of flavours.
Open Pizza Dosa – 4/5 – Dosa served as a pizza where instead of pizza you get dosa as a base. Another mild dosa and is perfect for kids and people who don’t prefer spicy or flavorful food.
Steam Idli – 4/5 – They provide good and soft idlis, definitely good but personally not one of my favourites as I am here for flavours.
Veg Grill Sandwich – They also serve good sandwiches if you are a sandwich lover and would like to give them a try. They also serve good Pizzas.
However, we are always here mostly for Dosas and boy do they deliver always
This is a place where I would suggest don’t go for takeaway rather go there and eat, and see the difference in the texture. Dosa is an item which needs to be eaten as soon as it’s made and that makes all the difference.

Cremaliaa Shakes and More Review

This place is a fairly new spot, earlier called Frullato but now a different name. Their menu has a lot of options and huge range of shakes. I have been to this place twice and we have tried their more traditional options like –
Motichur Shake – 5/5
Gulabjamun Shaker – 4/5
Kitkat Shake – 5/5
Ferro Rocher Shake – 5/5
Brownie on the rocks – 5/5

Definitely worth the price and is quiet heavy. I am yet to try their melt category of product but would definitely try soon

Red Indian Sizzler Restaurant Food Review

No matter how many fancy restaurants you go to there is some magical pull when it comes to your favourite comfort food restaurant and Red Indian Sizzler is exactly that for me.
I have been visiting this place for more than 15 years now, the place has amazing food and the number of reviews speaks for itself, if not the waiting definitely will
So this year we went on a Tuesday night, when we reached there which was approximately 8:45 pm we were able to get a table however post 9 pm their waiting had started, just something to be aware of if you are planning to come here with your loved ones.
Now this place has one of the biggest Veg sizzler options you will ever find anywhere in Mumbai and that includes Yoko. This place gave me my first sizzler and my first sizzling brownie and after so many years I still come back to it, it’s that good !!!
We have tried so many things over the number of years here are some of my favourites –
Manchow Soup – 4/5 – If you want something which is like a street-style Indian version of Manchow soup which is the heart and reaches the right notes to your food buds, this place is to be. Their soup is not too spicy and has a perfect amount of flavour for me.

Plain Cheese Nachos – 4/5 – Now I am not a lover of beans and hence I prefer plain cheese nachos here, it comes with their own specialized version of Salsa which is creamy and different from the regular version that you get everywhere and is a must try.
Their Nachos i think are homemade or locally sourced at least and hence very different from the packet nachos that you get in many eateries (which I feel is simply lazy). If you are a person who likes a little bit of heat and spice then definitely top it up with some Tobasco sauce which they give you if you ask and dig in.

Pink Sauce Pasta – 4/5 – Now just like many Indians out there I don’t like the sweetish tangy spicy red sauce and neither the creamy White Sauce pasta (I know what a crime really :P), I prefer to have the best of both the worlds and this is where their pasta comes, again in the menu for ages and the taste has remained consistent over the years.
Any of their Veg sizzlers are amazing, however, my personal fav –
Veg Exotica sizzler – 100000/5 – Now if you love sizzlers then this is a must try, I think the sauce is a barbeque sauce or a pepper sauce, not sure may need to ask them the next time I go, however, I you enjoy the sizzler forget the details. One thing about their sizzlers are they are well-sized and will easily be enough for two people so order accordingly, they also serve half sizzler if you wanna go on a date with your own self
Now with Sizzlers, they give you the option to have Rice, Noodles or Both, we have tried all 3 options and all of them rock so you cannot go wrong. It comes with a good quantity of veggies, fries, small smiley aloo tikki on topping and lastly loaded with a generous amount of sauce. Now I had asked them for some extra sauce a couple of times when I was craving to eat their sauce, and unlike other places, they provide them to you without any issues or charging you anything extra.

Veg Sizzler with Garlic Sauce – 5/5 — This is another favourite of mine, if you are a person who doesn’t like a lot of spicy food but still enjoys good and strong flavours then this is a must-try sizzler for you, you can, of course, ask them to give you the sizzler with paneer etc, they have same sauces being served with different items like vegetables, paneer etc depending on your liking.
Sandwiches —
We have tried their Sandwiches also and they are also good.
Mexican Rice –
We have tried their Mexican Rice as well and they are also nice and flavorful.
Sizzling Brownie – 10/5 – As I said this place introduced me to sizzling brownie, and boy what a love it has been. Now what I love about this place is since it is a pure veg place this is one of the few places which serve eggless brownies. Their brownie is perfect, a not very soft but still good, generous amount of ice cream on top and served with a lot of hot chocolate on a sizzling platter causing it to sizzle.

Drinks – 5/5 – They have cold coffee, mojitos etc which you can select and cannot go wrong as all of them are nice. I personally am so engrossed in food, that I don’t tend to take drinks But they are all good and you cannot go wrong with your choice.

Love and Cheesecake Review –

Now this is not the first time I have had cake from here, In fact, I love their cheesecakes and had been buying them from this place even before cheesecakes were a viral or Instagramable thing.
So it was my birthday a couple of days back and my friend ordered this beautiful Red Velvet cheesecake which is one of my favourite flavours of theirs.

The taste of this cake was amazing, ingredients were fresh. The cake was the perfect amount of soft and smooth texture when cut into and the taste was just yummy and amazing.

If you are trying this for the first time would definitely suggest going with half a kg cake rather than bigger sizes as cheesecake is not for everyone, especially people who love their traditional cake taste and flavours. Also, with cheesecake the cake should be fresh or it will taste a bit weird and the cheese flavour may overpower your cake flavour. Also, one more tip try Red Velvet Cheesecake this is one of the safest option to try if you are trying it for the first time and is also one of the most popular flavour so the chances are you will always get a fresh cheesecake.

So recently I went to this newly opened restaurant named Bustle situated nearby my place, it’s located in Borivali West. It’s a rooftop restaurant and has a lot of options in terms of Food. It’s a Pure veg restaurant with a lot of Jain options and not a kid-friendly place and they do serve Alcohol.

So here is my review

This place is a new addition to rooftops in Borivali West, based on our resarch this place was earlier 90 feet above and the new place is by the same owners.
This place is located on the top floor or either rooftop of the building, I would suggest do prior bookings so that there are no issues later on as it was quite crowded even though we went on a Tuesday Night. Personally, I would suggest going on a weekday night rather than a weekend night when it will be too crowded.
This place has a beautiful ambience both in the open area and closed area and it has a very much boho vibe to it with the macrame pillows to cane furniture, especially in the open area, while the closed area is more of the fine dining carrying the same boho vibe in terms of decor.
It’s a good place to take your date if you are in the area, especially if you are an 80s – 90s kid you will enjoy the English songs that they play.
Now this place does NOT allow kids post 7 pm so something to keep in mind for those parents with kids planning to dine here.
Now on to the food, between 4 of us, we ordered items as below –
Malibu Sunset
Tequila Sunrise
Sex on the Beach
Kiwi Virgin Mohito
Some Mango based chilli mocktail

Verdict – the drinks were decent and quite refreshing albeit some of them were a bit on the sweeter end for us.

For food, we had –
Potato Skins with Thecha Aioli – 4/5 – Good starter or chakna item to pass the time, nothing great about the dip yes it was thecha flavoured but was very mild in flavour and hence the thecha effect was missing.
Avocado, Jalapeno, Cream Cheese and Cucumber Sushi – 3/5 – I will be honest I have never been a sushi lover but I really wanted to try this combination and it was much better than other places where I have had sushi and as the name suggests was quiet flavorful when it came to feeling the flavours of Avocado, Cream Cheese and Cucumber, however for me Jalapeno flavour was missing which would have made this dish for me. Again wasabi sauce was not very potent, which it normally is in an authentic sushi place so was definitely not impressed even though the ingredients looks great as a combo and the presentation of the dish was awesome.
Peshawari Paneer Tikka with Spiced Mint Chutney – 4/5 – Nothing out of the box here, but it was a nice flavour and perfect presentation. The paneer was soft and coated well with marinade.
Pesto Pasta – 3.5/5 – It felt more like it was toned down for masses as it felt very creamy to me and the pesto flavour did not have that impact. Felt like I was eating a combination of Pesto and White Sauce Pasta.
Mexican Rice – 2/5 – This particular one was the biggest disappointment of all as it did not do anything for me in terms of flavors.

Markers –
Drinks and Food – 3/5 – If you love food and are craving for some really good food this may not be the place to visit that day.
Service – 4/5 – Service is slow however if you go to such places you are not expecting quick service and quick exit, you want to sit chill and enjoy the vibe of the place and that is what you get. Our server was kind enough to ask us for feedback after every dish which was something different. Once placed order they were delivered to our table in 15 to 30 mins depending on the dish which is a fair time according to me.
Ambience – 4/5 – This place is definitely a place to be if you are looking for a nice vibe to take your family or your partner to. Just pre-book beforehand, take your partner, order some food and wine, sit back and relax.
One of the things I love about this place is they are providing things like sushi etc with a Jain option which is amazing because being a vegetarian I have always had restrictions in many places where I wanted to eat let’s say a good sushi brownie etc, and getting these options in Jain is like mindblowing to me. So kudos to the menu curators for it.

Overall I will definitely be going to this place again with my family, friends and better half soon even though the food is not great, because sometimes it’s about the ambience and that is where this place delivers and is different from its competitors.

I am back again with another flipthrough of a mini album I created a few months back.This is a foldable mini album for baby girl which is pink and white in color. This foldable album contains 9 flaps, each flap can easily accomodate 2 4by6 inch photo or 4 3by4 inch photographs. It can accommodate 9 – 12 4by6 photographs and 6 – 8 3by4 inch photographs. It contains a belly band closure which contains pink colored baby embellishments perfect for baby girl album.

Its a perfect DIY to add those little personalized touches to your home especially for those people out there like me who live in a rental and cant make any permanent changes to the house. This is Khyati here and today I want to share with you details on my first try with Decoupage. Before getting in to, did you check out the latest Craftangles release of Decoupage papers, let me tell you mind blowing is the word for it.. So do check it out

Well here is a sneak peak of my project –

Detailed steps and how I did it is as below –

Some of the items you will need for the project are –

I had some MDF coasters in stash, what I did was I primed them with some Gesso. Once it was dry, i applied a very thin layer of Modpodge (you can also try with fevicol, I still have to try it. Will be doing it soon)

Once I laid the layer of paper and then pressed it flatly to the MDF coaster. Then I cut it as close to the edge as possible. See the below pic –

I let that dry for 20 – 30 mins. What I did later was sanded the sides of the paper with fine grain sanding paper (180 no) which you easily get in your local hardware store. Once I sanded the edge I distressed it with some Memento Dye ink (You can use any dye ink. I tried to avoid water soluble ink as I dint want the ink to spread once I applied varnish.)

When it was completely dry, make sure that paper is properly adhered to MDF. Once done, you can add another coat of Modpodge. I did not add it as I added multiple coats of varnish. I have used varnish from Asian paints seen as below –

Varnish takes quiet sometime to dry. I generally kept an interval of a day before I applied another coat of vanish. Here is the final look of the tea coasters –

I did not want the back side of the tea coaster to be blank. So at the back I added a complementing paper. This time I used a grungy masculine decoupage paper from Craftangles by CraftAdda. I have used I travel the world decoupage paper pack which is very colorful and grungy. Here are the images of the same –

I am quiet inspired with DIY projects these days and looking for some ways through which I can use them in my daily life.. From the moment I had seen these glittered shoe post here I was inspired to try something of my own. So here is my take on Glittered shoes

Now on how I did it and some more closeups –

My inspiration for this post was whimseybox.. She had used ceramic tiles which I did not have handy.. Hence I am improvised and used air dry clay.. Since its air dry clay you need to work fairly quickly with it.. You approximately have an hour to work with shaping it and than it starts hardening.. I kneaded clay a bit and than rolled it out using a rolling pan.. I have used Fast track watches lid as my cookie cutter to cut the shape..  Once the shape was cut out you let it dry.. One tip while drying see to it that you coasters don’t start being, straighten them out in regular periods.. I let the dry for 2 – 3 days before working on them.. Once they were completely dry I used another one of my favorite product these days The paint markers to doodle or whatever the design you want to.. I decided to go with the words and I have used black paint marker to write them down.. The sides are colored using gold paint marker.. I have than added coats of marine fevicol to protect the coasters from water (the marine fevicol provides a good and cheap alternative to Mod podge if you have patience for the fevicol to dry).. It takes 2 -3 days for fevicol to dry which also adds glossy look to the coasters .. Once dry add some foam sheets on the behind to provide a flat base to the coasters.. I have used glitter foams as I had them handy .. So here are some more pics of the same –
