Our technical support team is currently investigating the root cause for these issues. We will provide an update once more information becomes avialable.

The KIT Social Platform has been upgraded to accommodate the recent Facebook change to JavascriptSDK (as noted below).  Users should be able to enable Facebook Connect by using the documentation as outlined here: http://www.kickapps.com/documentation/index.php/Facebook_Connect_and_KickApps

You may have recently received an email from Facebook indicating that an app running within your KIT Social community will require an upgrade to JavascriptSDK by February 1, 2012.

The following is an excerpt from Facebook’s recent alert e-mail;

We currently detect that your app is using the old JavaScript SDK (FeatureLoader.js). This library will no longer work for authentication on February 1st, 2012 since it does not support OAuth 2.0. In May, we announced that all apps on Facebook need to support OAuth 2.0 by October 1st, 2011. Please upgrade to the new JavaScript SDK by February 1st, 2012 to avoid any disruption of service to your app.

In order to ensure that your app will continue to work on Facebook after their upcoming update, there are some minor edits that need to be made to your KIT Social Community and Facebook Fan Page:

•    Our engineering team is planning some modifications to the KIT Social Platform that will accommodate this upgrade to JavascriptSDK. These modifications are scheduled to go live today (Monday, January 30th).  Please keep an eye on the notification section of our site in order to see when these changes have been made - http://www.kickapps.com/category/updates/
•    We also require that affected customers make a few simple modifications to the GPT (Global Page Template) within your community.  A member of our team is available to assist you in making these changes: Please respond to this email directly for assistance.
•    You will also need to establish a new “app id” within Facebook. To accomplish this, we recommend creating a new app in Facebook, based on the steps available here;  http://www.kickapps.com/documentation/index.php/Facebook_Connect_and_KickApps

Once you have this app id, please reach out to our team, and we will assist in updating your community to accommodate this new change.

Earlier this morning several reports involving video transcoding issues and problems related to videos playing within KA communities were reported to our team.

These issues have been resolved and all videos should be transcoding and playing properly now.  Clients using RTMP, custom cdn’s & custom workflows were not affected by these problems.

Code is being deployed into production now which should correct the issue with FF9, noted blow.

3:30pm EST – 1/24/2012

A release is planned for the early morning hours on 1/25 to address some changes that Mozilla has made in Firefox version 9.0.

Specifically, these changes were recently impacting the ability for Webmasters/ Admins and Editors to categorize and/or re categorize media items from within the control panel.

This release will correct this concern.

1.    API > Get All Comment > Deleted comment (Group and Profile) is not displaying in payload response when user delete that comment via API as well as hosted platform.
-    Fixed payload response to accurately reflect deleted comment

5.    Custom Pages > Page Settings > Enable HTTPS mode for FB  (currently pending as part of release)
Custom pages will now have an option in the Page Settings tab that allows the user to select HTTPS mode; enables publishing customer pages as tabs in a Facebook app.
When selected, the URL displayed will have “https://” instead of “http://”

6.    SSO > signInRegister, updateUser tags do not get saved
Tags field wasn’t there for the following SSO calls:

• signInRegisterUser

• updateUserProfile

Added the new param named “tags” to these calls and the validation to the Tags field are:

• tags cannot be more than 255 chars

• And the other validations are as we have in platform for Tags.

Platform maintenance for CMS clients will be performed at approximately 10am EST on Thursday December 29th. There may be a short period (approx 1 min) of reduced performance or site unavailable messages as a side-effect of this maintenance.

In our continuing effort to improve our hosting platform we will be performing a migration of services over the next few weeks from our current infrastructure to an upgraded infrastructure.  In the first step of this process a network configuration change will be required that should have no impact to your applications.  This change is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11/1/2011 between the times of 9pm and midnight EST.  After this change is made we will begin migrating applications one at a time.
