Here's an ad my assistant Del found on Craigslist the other day for a nude personal trainer… TOTALLY AWESOME… I'd love to hear what you think about this in the comment section below... check it out…

We all know the hardest thing to do is exercise… and even harder is to stick to a routine.

We also know that you don't look good, until you look good naked!

I discovered a way to motivate myself and others. I'm a certified personal trainer… nutrition expert… and somewhat of a skin care specialist.

I discovered that working out in the nude has multiple benefits… It makes workouts fun… It makes time go by faster… Plus seeing yourself naked gets you motivated to continue your workouts.

It can be weird at first because you have to just let yourself go… even if you are discusted with your body. Let it motivate you to work harder! You have to be comfortable with yourself.

Most importantly, you have to know what to do… This is where I come in. I can help put together a program that I guarantee will help you lose those pounds… I promiss that by the time I'm through with you, you'll be walking around naked all the time admiring your body and the transformation you've worked so hard to get. You may even want to show it off!

This program will be tailored to your specific needs. I have clients that prefer their sessions with me to be completely clothed while others will opt for partially clothed and still others will do the completely nude workouts. It's interesting to see some of my clients will go from completely clothed to completely naked after a few sessions.

Every session is different depending on your mood… the idea is to keep it fun and interesting while working on specific muscle groups. This can mean turning a workout from boring to erotic…

In addition to your workouts, I can also work with you on good nutrition and skin care. Good nutrition will help you achieve your goals faster… and skin care is important as you continue to lose that weight. You'll want to tighten your skin… preven stretch marks, which will happen when you lose weight and tone up… Proper skin care will also keep you looking younger too!

A lot of my clients just want me to develop a routine for them… help guide them with good nutrition and skin care… but don't care for the nude workouts (at least not while I'm there) They find that it is fun to do but are not comfortable infront of others. That is fine, it's just a way to make it fun and interesting but not necessary if you can keep up with your routine.

If you are interested, please contact me immediately. I only take on 6 clients at any given time and I have two spots open. My sessions are one hour twice a week but you are expected to add two more sessions on your own. If you are not satisfied with the results after 3 months, I will refund you every penny. All I ask is that you stick to the routine.

Thanks for reading…

In my first post I talked about how I create a team environment for my personal training clients and how with the combination of this concept and incredible systems, I have set my retention rates at close to 100%.

One of the things I touched on was using a phone script and interview process to weed out the people who were not serious and make sure that I get committed clients that will train with me for a long, long time.

You know how cool it is when you get someone who responds to your Craigslist ad, stumbles on your website in Google, or finds you from some other form of marketing that you are putting out there, right?

It's great when they email you or call you up and tell you how frustrated they are with their bodies or how excited they are to lose weight and really "work on themselves" for once....

So you tell them you are excited for them, and you set up a time for them to come in and meet with you, sort of like a sales meeting. These meetings are great because you can get into someone's real desires and find out just WHY they want to get in shape and why you should take them on as a client. The day comes and you are all set to go. You have your paperwork for them; you are waiting at the front of the gym for them....

So you tell them you are excited for them, and you set up a time for them to come in and meet with you, sort of like a sales meeting. The day comes and you are all set to go. You have your paperwork for them; you are waiting at the front of the gym for them….

…and they NEVER show up…

How annoying is that? Not so cool anymore huh?

These are the types of people that will never commit to anything and your time is WAY too valuable to just throw it away like that.

This is one of the main reasons that I implemented the phone script (similar to what Chris uses).

I had to save myself some time and not drive myself nuts with these people who just can't seem to commit, and if they do, will probably make your life a living hell once they become a client.

The phone script falls into a long list of systems that basically guides what happens is when a person calls me, emails me or approaches me at the gym.

First, I set up a time to chat with them on the phone. The call should last about 15 minutes.

At first it can be tricky because you have to be patient and really dig deep, but eventually you'll get the hang of it.

Each individual is different so the key is to ask a lot of questions, and listen.

Here are the major phases for the phone screening process…

Pain- We want to find out WHY they are calling. Everyone wants to lose weight, lose fat, blah blah blah. We want to find out the emotional reasons behind this… the REAL reason which is usually 3-5 layers deeper than the original answer they'll give you.

Investment- Find out if they can in fact invest the time, money, and personal motivation that it takes to be a great client and get into amazing shape.

Decision- You do not want a wishy-washy person here. They need to be able to make a commitment to the program and after they do the trial workout, the only reason they would not sign up is because they don't like you or the workout (which would never happen).

Here are the major points of emphasis when you get the person on the line…

As I mentioned before, it takes a lot of practice and one thing I found in the beginning was that I was not being patient enough. You have to let the people talk and the more you dig, the more they will tell you. Don't move to the next piece until you really know what's up.

Greet them enthusiastically and be sure to remember their name and say it several times throughout the call

Ask them "Why are you calling to sign up with a trainer?"

At this point you will need to probably ask 5-6 more questions to find their pain and their hot button. Use phrases like "What do you mean by that?", "How does that make you feel?", "How do you mean?" "What would it mean to you to solve that problem?"

Make sure they are invested. You will want to get a "yes" answer on each question before moving on to the next.

It's going to take 2-3 days of working with a personal trainer, is that something you can commit to?

You'll also need to have 2-3 days on your own of mostly cardio and metabolic work, which I will provide for you. Is this something you can fit into your schedule?

In order to see the results that you want, you'll have to commit to the program for at least 6 months. Is this something that you can do?

You'll need to commit to a 85% healthy nutrition plan, which I will help you with. Are you willing to change your eating habits to become healthier?

The average program prices are between $____ and $____ per month. Is that something that you can budget?

Is there anyone else that you need to speak to in order to make this decision (husband, wife, family, etc) or is this your own choice?

The next step is to schedule the trial workout. I'll give people a couple of times that I have open, with groups that I know will be really cool to a new person and make them feel welcomed. It's important for the new people to see your best clients (raving fans) and show them that they can also be a part of such a great community.

After scheduling the trial workout I tell people that at the end of the workout I'm going to ask them if they can commit to the program and they can tell me yes or no. I want to eliminate the "I have to go home and think about it" because we all know that's just a great stalling technique for the big fat N-O. I tell people it will not hurt my feelings in the least and I know that I gave them my best effort during the workout, so no hard feelings.

When you end the phone call, you'll want to reiterate all of their goals and ask them if that is correct. This will just give you another "yes" answer and we all know that the more times people say yes, the better!

Some trainers get a credit card number to hold the spot of the person. I don't go down this route but I think it could go either way. Just make sure you get the EFT set up as soon as they fill out their paperwork after the trial workout. ( I know both Chris and Zach Hunt are pretty good at getting almost everyone's credit card over the phone… but it takes a level of and ease and confidence that a lot of trainers don't have)

This phone screening process has been incredible for me because it saves so much time, it saves me from getting totally stressed out by annoying people who don't show up, and it assures me that I will have solid, long term clients because I found their hot buttons and got them to commit to a long term program.

The process is not an exact science, and you'll miss the boat on a few (I did last week), but all in all it's a great way to really get a person fired up and get them committed so they love your program and stay with you for a very long time.

Be sure to adjust to it to fit your business, training model and personality.

Two programs that helped me a lot with setting up my scripts, systems and marketing are… The Auto-Delegation Toolboox which you can started on for like a buck or something crazy like that… it actually contains a copy of Chris's exact phone script he use's where he get's the credit card and everything… just click here to access it now

And the other program is Chris's Private Coaching and Mentoring Program… I've been in the program for a while now and absolutely love it… it's paid itself off COUNTLESS times over… there's nothing like having Chris in your corner to help build your training business… it's like you have no choice but to succeed… you can click here to check out his Coaching and Mentoring Program

A Fitness Internet Marketing Post by Chris McCombs

Marketing your fitness business or fitness products on the internet comes down to TWO SIMPLE THINGS.

1. Traffic

2. Conversions

One without the other isn't gonna do you much good... you could traffic all day long, but if your offer sucks, well, I doubt you'll make many sales.

And you can have the BEST OFFER IN THE WORLD, but if you don't get any traffic, no one's gonna see it.

One of the best ways to get traffic to your website is having A TON of content on your site... the more content you have, the more there is for Google to crawl and display when someone searches.

Let's face it, you can only put so many keywords on your site if you’ve just got a few pages, but by putting up articles on your site you’re giving Google a lot more material to work with and you can squeeze more keywords onto your site in a natural way.

I like to set 500-1000 pages of content as goal for most fitness sites ( with the exception of squeeze sites and sites that you send paid traffic to directly)

I'm talking about sites that you WANT PEOPLE TO FIND when running searches in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

I like to set 500-1000 pages of content as goal for most fitness sites ( with the exception of squeeze sites and sites that you send paid traffic to directly)

I'm talking about sites that you WANT PEOPLE TO FIND when running searches in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Problem is… you’d spend every minute of your day writing if you tried to do it all yourself.

For important pages like your main sales page and your flagship blog content, you’ll probably want to write a lot of that yourself, or have some really good guest bloggers or copywriters do it… that way you can get really great content…

In fact, you may even want to start writing a few articles on your own at first too… but after a while to keep this up you’re going to want to hire somebody else to do it for you, especially for optimized blog posts that are mainly to pull in people from the search engines, as well as optimized entry-pages… these are basically mini-optimized versions of your main sales message written for all the different ways people might search for the solution you offer… typically you're gonna want hundreds of these.

Remember, one of the keys to getting clients from Google is that you want to be at the top for TONS of keyword terms… not just one or two… you want to be at the top for literally hundreds if possible ( if you train in a small rural area in the middle of nowhere, my advice is to move, but that's another blog post altogether)

I've gone over this in previous blog posts, but let me touch on it here just to make sure we're on the same page…

Here's what you do… simply combine my location ( city, county) with my service type (and similar services)

By "service type" I mean the type of service that you offer ( like "boot camp" or "personal training")

Here's some of the service type names you'll probably wanna come up for… STARTING with your most important and targeted ones first and then working your way down the list…

boot camp, boot camps, bootcamp, bootcamps

personal trainer, personal training, personal trainers

fitness trainer, fitness training, fitness trainers

weight loss, weight loss center, weight loss clinic, weight loss program

health club, health clubs

gym, gyms

fitness center, fitness studio

workout

exercise

Next, you'll wanna multiply the locations you serve by the service phrases.

So say for example you serve a large portion of the Los Angeles area and you offered personal training, boot camps and a fitness studio, you would want to come up high for…

Los Angeles boot camp, boot camps, bootcamp, bootcamps

Los Angeles personal trainer, personal training, personal trainers

Los Angeles fitness trainer, fitness training, fitness trainers

Los Angeles weight loss, weight loss center, weight loss clinic, weight loss program

Los Angeles health club, health clubs

Los Angeles gym, gyms

Los Angeles fitness center

Los Angeles workout

Los Angeles exercise

Next, you would want to include all the cities within or near Los Angeles that you serve, so for example if you serve Beverly Hills, you would have optimized pages for all you Beverly Hills terms… like…

Beverly Hills boot camp, boot camps, bootcamp, bootcamps

Beverly Hills personal trainer, personal training, personal trainers

Beverly Hills fitness trainer, fitness training, fitness trainers

Beverly Hills weight loss, weight loss center, weight loss clinic, weight loss program

Beverly Hills health club, health clubs

Beverly Hills gym, gyms

Beverly Hills fitness center

Beverly Hills workout

Beverly Hills exercise

(Also, be sure to include the appropriate zip codes to the appropriate pages)

Now, keep in mind… these can't all be on the same page… you need to have a whole bunch of different pages on your site for all these different terms... one for each of your main kw phrase combination's… for example, one for all the combination's of 'Beverly Hills personal trainer, personal training, personal trainers' and so on, the combinations might look like this…

Beverly Hills personal trainer

Beverly Hills personal training

Beverly Hills personal trainers

Beverly Hills in personal trainer

personal training in Beverly Hills

personal trainers in Beverly Hills

I would also work-in the following words…

CA

California

Find

Best

Fitness

As there's a good chance those words might show up in people searches…

So that's for one page, your optimized "Beverly Hills Personal Trainer" entry page with all it's variations… unless you live out in the sticks, you can see how you can easily end up with hundreds of pages pretty quick.

I usually structure my optimized sales sites like this…

Home page > Site map listing your optimized entry pages > Optimized entry pages

Basically it's a three tier structure, and one that seems to work pretty well with Google algorithms.

You can refer to this fitness leads on autopilot post for a little more in-depth details on your entry pages

Once you have some examples up of your main sales message, understand the process and have you keyword lists, you’ll figure wanna hire someone for a few dollars a page to write the articles for you, it’s gonna free up your time for more important things that you CAN’T outsource to other people… like strategy, building win/win relationships and overseeing all your direct response style marketing.

You’ll actually end up making more money having somebody else do it.

You’ll want these articles to be optimized keyword content for your site to raise your rankings in Google, but they don’t have to be as good as your main salescopy or regular blog content… in fact, if you have a video that contains the meat of your main sale message, sticking that video on all your optimized entry pages can help a ton, especially since the content of the pages probably won't be as good.

Refer to this fitness video marketing post to see how you can make your main in sales message in a video

You will want some top notch blog content to link to for link building campaigns, but you can’t really start an effective link building campaign until you have something on your site that Google can search. So it’s good to start getting some content up even if it’s not a masterpiece.

A super easy way to do this is to post ads on CL under services or gigs.

Don’t go into a ton of detail, just let them know that you’re looking to have some short articles written for you (500-600 words) and that you’re either trading training or paying them X amount per article.

Once they respond assign them a simple task, but don’t bother explaining a lot of the SEO stuff or they won’t understand and might get intimidated and disappear. Just generally explain that you need some articles written, how often you would need articles, how they’d be paid, etc.

If they’re still interested assign them a simple article and ask them to do 4-5 SPECIFIC things. Like, use the keyword 8 times EXACTLY, or write four paragraphs, etc. Those things really don’t matter, it’s just to make sure that they can follow instruction, kinda a simple test of how well they pay attention.

Now, you will have to give a little more explanation on how you want the articles than 4-5 instructions, so what is easiest is usually to make a video or write something up explaining in detail how to write an article.

The format that you want, good headline examples, and how many keywords on average should be in the article. Let them know to watch or read it a few times to make sure they’re not calling you with a bunch of questions that they missed the first time.

The goal here is to do this as inexpensively as possible, so you don’t want to have to personally teach each person everything because if they leave you just wasted all your time.

There’s also a bunch of freelance sites like elance.com or guru.com where you can hire people to write articles for $4-5 per article. You can register for these sites and do search to see how much people charge, and check out their profile to see pretty quickly whether they do the type of writing you need.

You’ll get a bunch of results from the search, so do the same simple project assignment IF you think they could work out. Sometimes you’ll get responses that are BARELY English as it is, so you can pretty well tell that any article they write is not going to sound remotely natural.

So there is some work to get it set up, but once it is ready you’ll get a lot of content coming in that will help you a lot. Google wants to see your site being updated, so if you haven’t added content in years it’s going to effect your rankings. You don’t have to do crazy updates, but as long as you add content every now and then it’ll help you a lot… and this is a great and easy way to do it.

One thing that's important to do is to make sure the articles aren't plagiarized… here's how you do it, take a strand of text ( about 8 words) and throw quotes around it… then search this strand of text with the quotes around it in Google, repeat 2-3 times grabbing different strands and searching in Google, if anything comes up, check it out, your article may have been plagiarized.

Here's what I mean by searching with quotes…

I had one article writer do blocks of 10-20 articles for me at a time, with no problems, but as soon as I ordered a hundred, many came back as plagiarized, so it's important not to skip this step. Plagiarized articles can really hurt you in Google due to duplicate content issues.

It's also important to give writers strict time-lines, cuz if you don't, someone else probably will, and your stuff might get pushed down the line a bit… be the one handing out deadlines, not the one sitting around wondering when will your articles be done.

Hope you find this strategy as useful as I have.

Did you know you only have about 5 to 6 seconds before people decide to leave or stay when they first visit your site?

Some say you only have 2-3 seconds to grab a viewer's interest or they'll never return - it's friggin' harsh, but at the end of the day there will always be a fine line between a sale and no response at all.

Let's say you paid Google $100 to advertise your site. The ad brings 100 people to your site, and 1 person signs up ("1% traffic conversion").

Do you have any idea how to improve it?

Online experts have been putting more and more emphasis on improving traffic conversion rate, but how exactly you make the improvement has not been made clear and a lot of web designers, even those who know the ropes, fail to give a site what is needed to really help your online sales.

As the founder of SZ Creative Solutions and Director of Operations at Fitness Website Formula ( where I work with Chris and Bedros) I have helped hundreds of websites succeed online, and have I found again and again that these simple conversion principles work...

As the founder of SZ Creative Solutions and Director of Operations at Fitness Website Formula ( where I work with Chris and Bedros) I have helped hundreds of websites succeed online, and have I found again and again that these simple conversion principles work…

Impression - Immediately capture and build up the audience's interest

Connection - Create an emotional connection with the audience and make it super easy for them to take action

Here are 3 little ways you can "tweak" your site to get more people to stay and gain more business leads from your site…

1. Design Your Site Header with Purpose

A header is one of the most important elements of your site. It's like the front of your house - communicating to your visitors about your identity, character, and purpose. This is especially important for first-time site visitors.

Have your designer model your header after headers like these below: Make 3 to 4 variations and show them to all of your clients and colleagues and get feedback on it. It takes a good understanding of your market and consumer psychology to come up with a professional header that leaves a good impression on the audience.

Keep it short and clear when you state what your site is all about: For a blog, keep your header short because your repeat visitors want to dive right into the content. And for a regular site or salescopy site, keep it as short as possible and include a call to action like this below:

2. Make Your Copy Shine

You probably already know the importance of having killer copy that pulls in the audience's heart and soul… there are several ways to make your precious copy standout and build excitement towards your objective (sales).

Here's some tips…

Work on your attention grabbing headline and make it prominent at the top of your site.

Create an emotional connection with effective use of graphic images.

Did the picture of a woman with guns above grab your first attention? In a similar way, gorgeous before and after client pictures and high-energy workout video/action photos can really "validate" your copy into the audience's minds.

Here's a simple one… A good contrast between the foreground of your page (white) and the background of your site (dark blue or black) will keep the audience focused on your copy.

3. Emphasize a Single AT (Action Trigger)

On your sales pages are you giving too much information and asking too much of your audience - leaving them overwhelmed and not knowing what to do (i.e too many links, confusing layout, etc)?

If possible, build your page based on a single primary purpose - clearly state exactly what you want your prospect to do.

You'd need a clear and strong call to action (sign up message, order button, etc) and an effective method(s) to capture your audience's information.

Quick Test

If you want to know your site really sucks or rocks, try a test like this to a group of people:

1. Give a hypothetical case:

"You're looking for a personal trainer online, but you're not sure who comes recommended. What do you think about this trainer?"

2. Show your site or sign up page for 5- 8 sec and immediately close it.

3. Ask these questions:

A. "What is the most important information on this page?"

B. "What is the page about?"

C. "What is the page asking you to do?"

When the quality of your site is good, it will fire more neurons in their brain and it leaves a strong impression, registering in your prospect's memory that much longer.

You must convert your audience to make a sale - don't spend a lot of money and time on getting traffic to your site and not improve your traffic conversion.

The best approach I know to display a product or service and crank up your conversion is a style called "Direct response website".

Live Examples

Dan Go's salescopy site makes the audience want to read how they can benefit from bootcamp and contact him:

http://www.gogirlbootcamps.com/

He went from getting 1-2 leads a month to 2-3 leads a day through his site almost immediately after we helped him.

And check out Jonas's queeze page… it makes it enticing for people to give an email address and learn more about his services:

http://www.neworleansfatloss.com/

In 7 months, he got 300 subscribers from traffic JUST from a few little facebook ads.

His stats are…

Avg. monthly subscribers: 37.5
Conversion: 4.26% (industry avg. 2%)

Even if your homepage serves multiple tasks, you can incorporate direct response to a certain degree, but that's a little more advanced.

Think about that for a second; and as you do, think about the message you are sending to your clients, and to your prospects.

- How do you sit, when sitting across from a prospect?
- What are your eyes doing?
- Are you really present and listening to them, or are you off with the fairies?

I remember a crazy Ex of mine that had a habit of freaking out... like really losing it at the most ridiculous things.

Usually it involved members of her family, her brother as an example.

One time he ate the last 2 pieces of pineapple in the fridge and she flipped... totally tearing him to shreds about how he had no respect, no consideration, ignorant, you never learn, blah blah blah... and his response?

He flipped out too and began to belittle her in her quest to become super fit and healthy.

This pattern continued and one day instead of her brother copping it, it was me. Rather than freaking out, I simply smiled and walked away. (I was still sending a message; I was using that 55% of communication known as physiology)

Saying nothing is still a form of communication and as a result, sends a message to the person standing before you.

How they interpret that message is a whole different kettle of fish.

2. You have all the resources you need to achieve your desired outcomes

How often have you heard (or told yourself) the story that "If only I had THIS, THEN I would be able to do THIS... or "If only I had THAT... THEN my business would be booming"

It's all too common and can happen to the best of us.

1. You cannot NOT communicate

Communication is made up of the following:-

7% Words
28% Tonality
55% Physiology

Think about that for a second; and as you do, think about the message you are sending to your clients, and to your prospects.

How they interpret that message is a whole different kettle of fish.

2. You have all the resources you need to achieve your desired outcomes

How often have you heard (or told yourself) the story that "If only I had THIS, THEN I would be able to do THIS… or "If only I had THAT… THEN my business would be booming"

It's all too common and can happen to the best of us.

This takes me back to a trainer I worked with in the early naughties - he was always comparing himself to the trainer/bodybuilder who had Titanic Triceps and was constantly booked up with clients. His line was "If only I was a Bodybuilder/had arms like that, THEN I would have enough clients"

From all reports the guy still has noodles for arms and keeps a second job to supplement what little he makes from PT.

Here's the thing about resources. They can be Internal Beliefs, Energy, Personal skills as well as people, possessions and money.

Ask yourself this question - Do I need more resources or do I need to be more resourceful?

3. Every behavior has a positive intent

This assumption applies to all behavior; good, bad or otherwise.

A friend of mine (smoker) once mentioned to me about the possibility of "giving up the ciggies" There I stood thinking "yeah, yeah I have heard that one before" and so as time went on she "tried" but unfortunately wasn't too successful; not long term success. At the time I figured she was just making excuses but then I came across NLP and something called The Secondary Gain

You see, my friend used to be a fellow KFC Manager and every chance she could get she would step outside in the dock area and light up. Now as we all do, she knew the dangers of smoking and quite frankly how disgusting it really is, yet she could not give it up (in her mind anyway)

The question lies in The Secondary Gain; and the secondary gain is the "positive intent" which in her case was the little smoke break allowed her to step out of the madness that existed behind the counter and have 3 minutes of peace to herself to clear her head before stepping back inside.

For her, this secondary gain was strong enough to overpower her will to quit.

4. People are much more than their behavior

My mum is a big wrestling fan; and by wrestling I mean the "Sports Entertainment" style. You know, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Andre the Giant etc. Oh let's not forget Bret "Hitman" Hart - her favorite. Now, can you guess who also became a fan?

I have to admit I still am.

And YES… I know it is "fake", I heard that countless times as a kid from my fellow school friends. However fake it may be, those members of the WWE have ridiculous schedules, on the road up to 300 days a year, no off season and suffer some crazy injuries. It's a tough gig no doubt.

Now, before the cat was let out of the bag, the fans new who was the good guy and who was the bad guy. In fact, after reading some of the autobiographies of former stars, people that went to see these guys and gals in action would very often spit, throw garbage and even threaten to kill the "bad guys"

At the time, they had no idea that the "bad guy" was in fact just a character and his real nature is nowhere near what is portrayed.

Here's the real kicker

People do this every single day of their lives. They demonstrate a side of them that isn't really who they are at the deepest level. (I learned this well before NLP with my family, forgiving them for their behaviors that really hurt me at the time. To forgive is to heal)

Maybe it's a friend of yours who turns to alcohol or decides to tear shreds off you for absolutely nothing at all.

Here's a secret - It's not you… AND it's not really who they are. It's the behavior they are projecting; it isn't who they really are at their core.

This can be one of the most difficult presuppositions to live by. If you are going to study and practice NLP effectively you must be able to master this presupposition.

You cannot help anyone if you are judging them. Your vision will always be clouded. Same goes if you react in a negative way towards their behavior. It will only further strengthen the behavior they are projecting and condition it even more.

5. The mind and body are interlinked and affect each other

Scientists have proven that the link between the mind and body is indeed very real. What you do with your mind affects your body and what you do with your body certainly affects your mind. When you get depressed or feel defeated you say certain things in your head and you hold your body a certain way as is true if you are feeling determined or elated.

Try it on if you will - Remember a time when you felt sad (you need to do this to experience it)

- Where were you when you were sad?
- How was your posture?
- Were your eyes up or down?
- Were your shoulders up and back or stooped and towards the ground?
- What were you saying to yourself?
- What words did you use?

This also has a dramatic effect on your clients' lives for example when they "Binge" - it can almost always be attributed to what is going on with them emotionally at that very point. Chances are they don't even realize what they are eating (or how much) because they are too focused on being sad or frustrated in that moment.

6. Having choice is better than not having choice

"I have no choice. I have to do this!"

Have you ever said that to yourself? Maybe you have heard someone else say it; not only say it but really believe it in their body and their spirit. The truth is you always have a choice in every situation that you experience in life, business or otherwise. That's not to say you can control every situation that comes along because we all know that isn't possible. What is though is how you respond as we previously discussed.

Be aware of where you are making your choices from. Now, what do I mean by that?

Back when I was about 10 years old I remember the latest, greatest, whiz bang fan dangle super game console the "Super Nintendo" had recently been released and I was DYING to have one. I was told that I might get one for Christmas and a few months before hand I heard on the Tele (Aussie for TV) that stock was running out and they may be sold out before Xmas. Well…. Didn't I have a FIT!!! Mum was hit with a relentless sales pitch which included something along the lines of "We Have NO CHOICE" and so after draining every ounce of energy out of her I closed the deal and FINALLY had my grubby hands on the SNES.

Soon after Christmas the stores advertising was at its peak "January Sale: get the SNES now $50 off and an extra controller. Needless to say my mum wasn't too impressed and at the time I was far too distracted to catch on to the sneaky marketing tactics that totally had me hung like Ned Kelly only a couple of months before hand.

Isn't funny that sometimes even though we age we still feel like we have no choice or that we may miss out only to find out later on how wrong we were?

7. Modeling successful performance leads to excellence

This presupposition is really what NLP is based on; that being modeling. This is the type of modeling you won't see on any catwalk. You do see it every day however. It is how you learned as a child; some might call it imitating. A word we often use for someone we want to model is mentor.

The premise of modeling is to take someone who is outstanding (at whatever it is they are outstanding in) and model exactly what they do; paying close attention to how he/she operates and what he/she does when being outstanding. How they breathe, their behavior, their values, their beliefs, their rules etc.

In order to model someone successfully we need to know everything that is going on within them when they are at this level known as outstanding. Drs Richard Bandler and John Grinder (NLP Founders) ultimately used this method to create almost all of what we call NLP.

Take Chris McCombs for example. Here's a guy who has dominated a niche and created a pretty darn amazing life for himself and his family. There are thousands of trainers on his list and yet only a small percent of people have been able to hop aboard that same train.

Why?

They haven't modeled effectively; all the information on this blog is useless unless you use it in the way Chris tells you to use it… and he does that for a reason, because it works/has worked.

In order to really get to the same level you need to model the behavior, the values, the rules, the musts, the beliefs or simply follow the exact recipe for success that he lays out in the Market Annihilator for example.

So what can you do right now with all of this info?

Answer these following questions; not just in your head but write your answers out on a piece of paper and get a good look at what's really going on. (Replace You with I)

1. What might you be communicating unintentionally?

2. Think of something you are striving to achieve and note the resources you already have, being sure to list your personal qualities that serve you well.

3. Write down a "bad behavior" you have, and ask "What is the positive intent"?

4. What judgments do you make/have you made about other people?

5. Go back and do the exercise for the "mind and body interlinked" presupposition.

6. If you feel limited in your choices in any area of your life, write what areas they are and then ask yourself "What are my options/choices really" and "What other choices could I make if I wanted to"

7. Who has special qualities you can model? What about them you can model?

One final thought about NLP Presuppositions; they are just that, presuppositions.

They are not the be all and end all, but they are convenient beliefs and assumptions that can have a dramatically positive effect on your life and the lives of those around you.

Even if you have your bootcamp business or personal training biz humming, you still probably feel like you don’t have enough time to start an online web biz.

Well, I’m going to show you how to get more done by making more time in your life

One of the big things you need to know is how to start making the progression from training all the time to spending more time working on your Internet business.

Eventually you just have to cut out some training and commit a block of time to working on your ebook and website projects.

I started with Thursday afternoons. No more clients. Then I cut all clients from Thursday mornings. Then all day Tuesday as well. And so it went, eliminating chunks of time as my online business grew.

Do baby steps at first...you might be terrified, but when you see how much work you can get done working on your e-book for 6 hours straight compared to 1 hour for 6 days straight, you'll know you've made the right decision.

But even after you’ve freed up that time, you still have to find a way to GSD (get stuff done). I still get a lot of people asking me how I do it...how do I get so much done?

A lot of it is energy management. Something that is practically impossible when you are training people all day, trading time for money.

Energy management means working on the right tasks at the right time.

Specifically, working on creative tasks when you are most creative. However, for most trainers in the gym, they are often most creative when they are stuck training people for 4 hours in a row.

But when they finally get in front of a computer, it seems like their brain has gone into shutdown mode. I know, I've been there.

So if you are stuck in that position, here's one tip...

Specifically, working on creative tasks when you are most creative. However, for most trainers in the gym, they are often most creative when they are stuck training people for 4 hours in a row.

But when they finally get in front of a computer, it seems like their brain has gone into shutdown mode. I know, I've been there.

So if you are stuck in that position, here's one tip…

Get up 10 minutes earlier and at least do 10 minutes of work on your project.

Yes, I know you are getting up early already. I've been there. I hated the alarm clock more than you ever could.

But I remember getting up at 4:30am (yes, 4:30am) to write for 10-15 minutes and then drag myself away from the computer and onto my day.

Short term pain for long term gain – that’s what you have to remember.

Getting up 10 minutes earlier and working on a project can mean the difference between getting stuck in the dollars for hours revolving door or living the Internet lifestyle.

Here's another tip…

Always be working on something. Always have reading material. Whether you are between clients, at the dentist, on the bus, or eating lunch, you should always have educational material in front of you and helping you plot and
scheme your way out of the personal training prison.

I made a lot of money from ideas I wrote down on a notepad while riding the subway to and from the gym. I was always taking notes from books I was reading or preparing my next Turbulence Training program (another tip -
always be thinking about "What's next" in your business).

Next, make sure you are minimizing email.

Start by setting designated times when you check your email. I know you’ve heard that a million times, but are you sticking to it?

To motivate yourself to stick to that schedule, create a punishment fund that you contribute $5to each time you break your email rule. Give that money to a homeless guy or something.

It’s also critical to avoid checking your email first thing upon sitting down to your computer. Before you open up your email, make sure you get at least one project done. Hopefully more.

NOTE: The email I’m referring to is non-client email. Make sure you set up one email that only your clients can contact you on. After all, its free to set up email, so you should have separate emails for clients and for yourinfo business.

Back to not checking your email…

Why shouldn't you check your email first thing in the morning or right after you are done training clients?

1) You'll get so much more done if you start working on projects with a fresh mind, rather than getting sucked into problems waiting in your inbox.

Take a deep breath and relax, and get some work done instead.

2) Chances are there will be an email in your inbox that will get stuck in your head like a catchy tune. It might be an upset customer, a refund, or any number of negative-type messages far too common today. But it will gnaw on your mind while you try and do something more productive. It will crush your ability to get anything done.

Don't let negative influences get into your head until you've got something accomplished.

Every morning, fight the habit to check your email. Every minute you hold out is a victory won. You will triple your productivity, if not more.

Finally, the last big lesson that we all need to remember is to follow the 80-20 principle… that approximately 80% of our progress will come from 20% of our efforts. It might even be 95% of our progress comes from 5% of our efforts.

In a fitness Internet business, that means 80% of your sales and traffic will come from a few main sources. I know this is true in my business, because I measure it all the time (with google analytics).

So I know where to focus my marketing efforts.

Do you? If not, you need to track and focus on what is most productive for you, and then you can cut unproductive behaviors and spend more time doing other things (business or pleasure).

Bottom line:

Make sure you are spending your time on being productive, not just being busy. That's a big mistake so many trainers make.

And outsource any activity not worthy of your time. For example, you shouldn't be spending any time on customer service for your Internet business. Customer service email will kill your business momentum.

You must have a system in place for someone else to deal with it. You can get a bootcamp client or find someone on Craig’s list. There are lots of good people looking for work these days.

Finally, follow this rule and you will succeed online:

"Every day, do ONE thing that moves your online business closer to your goals".

That might mean…

a) Writing a headline for your website
b) Telling a story in a newsletter that creates trust and a relationship
between you and your readers
c) Designing another 4-week workout for your manual
d) Taking some photos for your e-book
e) Contacting a Joint-Venture partner
f) Submitting an article to another website to get a link back to your site

So even if you were "busy" training people today, you still have time tonight to be "productive" in your online business. Get going.

And there are dozens of other things you could be doing that you’ll learn in my Online Second Paycheck System. It’s the perfect place for you to get started making money on the Internet.

************************************************************************************************************************

Alright, I'll let Zach take it from here…

Craigslist is one of my favorite free marketing methods for my fitness training business. Not only is it free (a HUGE plus), it also works really well, if you know the tried and true tactics for CL obliteration =)

The only issue with craigslist marketing is most people are far too submissive when formulating their posting schedule. I was like that myself when I first started, posting 1 or maybe 2 ads a day in like the general section or the services section.

While it worked to some extent, certainly not to the level it does now, and it’s wasn’t near as fun, you'll see what I mean

Here's Part One my top 9 tips to top notch Craigslist postings, and when I say aggressive check this out…

1. Don’t be afraid of posting too much

As long as you follow the strategies and tactics I outline here, posting too much is never an issue.

Keep in mind, you may have people flaming you and cc’ing you to craigslist abuse… its part of the fun =) And while it shouldn’t be a goal, it’s certainly not something that should bother you.

I’ve gotten over a dozen web submissions with cussing and bad mouthing my name (check the image to the right), and well I just find it entertaining. I know it’s from a craigslist enemy because he uses the same terminology as he emails me on responding directly to the post. I find it kinda of entertaining myself.

Who knows if it’s just some high school kid wasting time, some competing personal training studio, or maybe someone is just having a bad day (their wife burnt their toast that morning).

Really, this shouldn’t be much of a problem, but if you do encounter things like this… mostly inevitable when you post as much as I recommend, just realize you did nothing wrong. And it won’t hurt you one bit.

I have between 10-20 posts going up each day, in a bunch of different categories.

2. Some of your posts should have a hidden identity

One way to get around posting a lot on craigslist is to not have your brand / name in the subject or even the copy of the post.

Just present a solution. Basically having the solution with emotional stirring copy pointing back to an unbranded web domain.

It’s real simple to get multiple domains. I have around 50 with the word Spokane, in them for all sorts of purposes, craigslist being one of them.

Yes, some of your best posts will obviously not have your identity in them, this will make sure that people seeing this ad will not relate it back to your company and all the other posts you are doing.

They don’t care if they see fitness posts, but if it’s related to your business all the time, then that may anger some people and cause them to flag.

Some people are regular visitors to the site, and will notice your themes.

Which brings up another important point, to use different keywords and themes in your unbranded ads. Meanings don’t use the same slogan or sales copy. Make sure every ad has unique copy and unique wording.

Another great tactic is to tailor the posts to the category you post in. Meaning if you post in the vacation category have the post mention how to get in shape for your summer vacation, or for your cruise, or for beach season, or whatever, you get the picture.

If it’s in the groups section, mention something to the fact that here’s an exercise / accountability group that’s new to the area. New being relative, “newish”, in the past 5-10 years =)

So some of the postings will be like the following…

==================================================

Title: How to Get Real, Visible & Lasting Fitness Results (W/ 100% Certainty)

Body Copy:

Spokane, WA - You want to get rid of the fat, lose the weight and have a great body so you look great and feel great. Like most, you’ve probably tried some things and they haven’t worked. WHY?

Because you are being lied to.

Like everything worthwhile in life, health and fitness results take effort. And cookie-cutter ‘secret’ solutions don’t work. You know that already. (But are you willing to admit it?)

If you want real results, as quickly as possible, with 100% certainty, there is only ONE solution that works every time. What is it???

Just go to this page to find out…

Click Here to See Fitness Myths Exposed

==================================================

This is an example I've used in the past and have variations of it now.

3. Have multiple Craigslist accounts

There’s no way to properly do this strategy using just one craigslist account, you’re gonna have a way overloaded account, which will be flagged by their system and likely get you banned within a weeks, if not sooner. The solution is to simply have multiple accounts, not 2, 3 or even 4, but 10 or even 20.

It’s not hard either. All you need for each craigslist account is a unique email address and a phone number. You can use your own phone number, house number, assistant’s phone number, and multiple Google voice numbers and so on. I got by with mostly just that. And by the way, if you haven’t checked out 'Google Voice' it’s pretty cool, I believe they are open for registration now.

So you just register those accounts, even if just 7 of them.

Then when you do your postings use a different account for each day of the week or every other week if you have say 14 accounts. And if possible, if you know the technical side of things, do it from a different IP address each day, or even different computer.

It’s possible to change your IP on the same computer if you know the technical side of things, although not really that hard.

So in a way creating a posting calendar, to where which posts go to what categories on what days. This should be one massive document that encompasses all your craigslist posts and strategy.

4. Have someone else do the posts for you

One reason Craigslist is so effective is because it’s always going on and new people are constantly searching for things to take up their time and money. Meaning you need to do your posts consistently each and every week.

So, optimally like the subject says, you should have someone else doing the craigslist postings for you, rather than doing them yourself. This can save you 20 to 40 minutes a day. This is one of the easiest things you can delegate out, cause it’s pretty easy to do.

Just make sure you keep whoever is doing the posts accountable to doing the posts. I’ve had assistants / helpers in the past who I gave them the project and find out a week later they were doing any of the posts.

The way I’ve done it is having all the confirmation emails forwarded from all their accounts to my email account. Then 8those emails are auto-filtered into a separate label in my Gmail.

You can use folders or whatever you have depending on your email program. I can then check on that label and see all the confirmation emails for that week / day and so on.

Only takes seconds to do, and it’s not like I check this every day, more likely on a weekly basis. But most of all I have a great person that helps me out with this and can trust her to keep on top of this.

Stay tuned for Part Two of the 9 Aggressive Craigslist Marketing Tactics and my best 5 methods for blowing up your Craigslist marketing efforts.

Hey there, it's Chris... hope you're doing awesome... I want to let you in on an email I got the other day... it's by a fitness trainer named David Eagleton and it has some pretty cool ways to get clients... one is very similar to something my friend Steve Hochman does with his Foot Soldier Method but with a few tweaks, and the other is TOTALLY out-of-the-box... enjoy... (it's been slightly edited for brevity)

Here's the email from David:

Chris, I just love creative thinking and helping people. Honestly I feel fortunate. When I graduated college I had no clue what I wanted to do so I became a bartender ( I know right a bartender who just blew $120k of mom and dads money on a private business school).

Needless to say they weren't too happy so I moved to Denver from Boston to "run away"... and I started making some really bad choices in life.

Well over the last 3 years I went from training part time in a corporate gym and doing some things I'm not proud of ... to wanting to give up on everything.

I was sick of the corporate world and even more my own life. My best friend dragged me to go to church with him on a Friday night and it changed my life.

Fast forward I have stepped away from the bad decisions I was making and became business partners with this same friend.

We agreed that he would do all the boot camp training and I would handle the marketing and business side ( finally used the skills from a private business college).

I am now happy to say that we have 100 clients paying $180 a month and we split it down the middle. I can't believe how much my life has changed.

What I did with my friend opened my eyes and made me realize I could grab any trainer from the corporate world and (save their life) by helping them make a ton of money. I truly believe "he who waters others will himself be watered" -Proverbs 11:25

Ok, check this out Chris, here's is an idea I woke up with one morning... I experimented with it and it turned out to be AWESOME!

Here is how you do it...

Needless to say they weren't too happy so I moved to Denver from Boston to "run away"… and I started making some really bad choices in life.

Well over the last 3 years I went from training part time in a corporate gym and doing some things I'm not proud of … to wanting to give up on everything.

Ok, check this out Chris, here's is an idea I woke up with one morning… I experimented with it and it turned out to be AWESOME!

Here is how you do it…

Client Getting Strategy Number One

NOT your average Craigslist strategy…

Post an AD on Craigslist under 'Gigs'

Title of your post: 'I want to hire someone'

Then in the body I typed: 'Looking for someone with a gym membership that wants to make some extra money while they are working out. Send me an email if you are interested.'

Then email them one by one with this response:

"Thanks for your interest. The program works like this: I own a fitness boot camp company in Northglenn and I have a sweet idea that will help me and YOU out. All you have to do is talk about my boot camp while you are working out at your gym and get someone to check us out. If they sign up you get $100 cash in your pocket the very next day. It's a great way for you to make extra money and for me to build my business because most likely they will stay for many future months to come. Basically I have an indoor facility that specializes in cardio strength training, proven to burn 7x more fat than traditional cardio.

You can visit my website and check out some of our videos. We use tractor tires, sandbags, ropes, plyo boxes, TRX bands, and lots other fun stuff. We never do the same workout twice and the group holds people accountable.

So I would like to invite you to one of our workouts for FREE so you can get a better idea of what we are about and will be able to describe it better at the gym. My website is www.fitsoldiers.com Let me know if you are interested and we can schedule you for one of our classes. Thanks again for your interest and looking forward to hearing back." - David Eagleton

Now it turns out that when these people show up to your boot camp session to "try it out" so they can describe it better, it actually turned 90% of them on to want to join at my regular price.

So I actually get new clients out of the deal AND they are recruiting people at their gyms for $100 cash.

And that $100 cash costs me nothing because I charge $120-$180 to join for the month so I just pay them from the sign up fee. Then the next month I have them for full price on a reoccurring basis.

So there's one tactic that works great for me

Client Getting Strategy Number Two

Here's another idea I came up with literally turning my cell phone into a vibrating lead machine…

I honestly love the feeling of having my cell phone vibrate in my pocket KNOWING that it was a personal training lead.

Here's how I did it:

I was dead broke at the time so even though now this against my beliefs and bad business practice, my mindset was survival of the fittest lol.

So I drove around and grabbed every vinyl sign I could find and tossed it in my trunk. I got about 20 signs and then went to Home Depot and bought white paint and black decal lettering.

I got home and put 2 coats of paint on every sign. Then I lettered word for word " Win a personal Trainer. Text your goals to 720-XXX-XXXX".

And that's it…

You see, I think people don't like to be given anything free anymore. They think it's a scam or they will get ripped off but they LOVE to win lol.

Then I placed them at every major intersection Friday night (after the city dept gets off work for the weekend). And left them up til Sunday night.

During the weekend my phone vibrated out of my pocket. I would get over 50 leads in a weekend!

I would then go home at the end of the day and load every single phone number and their goal into an Excel spreadsheet and wait a couple days to call them personally (to build the excitement and not sound desperate).

Then I would call and say. "Congratulations you won a free month of boot camp with Denver's top personal trainer. Can I put you down for mornings or evenings?"

I flipped 9 out of 10 into EFT for ongoing boot camp after their first month!

I hope you like it I have a million ideas. My friends call me a marketing rebel. My mind doesn't stop cranking. (Must be from all those bad decisions I made when I was younger lol)

Take care Chris let me know what you think.
