Thanks for posting this! I have just stumbled on your blog from doing one of my routine google image searches to prepare the media for our church services this Sunday. What you have written is so true and probably more common than we know. I recently read a Mother Teresa book that echoes deeply our need for time with our Savior. Silence before God is what she says is a necessity and yet it is so hard to come by in this noisy world we live in. It is nice to know that others have the same struggles and are trying to focus on the "jellyfish" idea. Thank you for your encouragement. It's so ironic isn't it...that when you stop TRYING to impact people, you impact them in ways you never imagined! God is amazing.

It sort of acts like a binkey, too, for those of us who come to the website in a panic looking for a last minute idea. We find just what we're looking for and "Ahhhhhh!" we feel better.

Karl,
Love the new site! So much easier to navigate. Creating additional crossover for the Kidology.org and Kidologist.com is beneficial too. Great new look too.

I haven't seen the video yet. My computer here at work doesn't allow video viewing, but I will when I get home. Nonetheless, I was so moved by the beauty in the pictures. I know pictures never do it justice; so it must have truly been tremendous! We do need to really get away in order to shut out the myriad of things that creep into our minds and lives. Just a short time away, really away with God, can fill our tanks and give us the energy to run again. Thanks for sharing the photography and your thoughts.

I was directed to your site by a Children's Pastor here in the Cleveland, Ohio area. We are working together on a pilot program in family ministry. I went to seminary for a good theological background so I could be a better Christian Education Director, but God had other plans. The way I see God's plan is that I am to be a volunteer consultant for churches as I assist them to develop their own family ministry program. This FM program is created to enhance the education and ministry programs they already have in place by being more of an outreach. There will be a web site up around August 15th, and our pilot begins in the fall with the training of our first set of leadership team members. If all goes well, and since this is God's plan not mine, I fully expect they will, I will branch off and seek to help other churches. Each church will have a family ministry plan that is created around the needs of its own members. So, each will be slightly different. That is just how God designed it. It seems to be pretty consistent with God's design style.

I'll keep in touch.

Karl,

Great job on the video. I have watched it many times today. It came at a great time - during the busy week of our VBS. So many memories came back and it was nice to go back to that place, just being still in Him.

Thanks again.

Karl,
WOW, I'm sitting here in tears as all the emotion and memories from Yosemite 2009 flood back. You did an awesome job on the video and that song is perfect. (I want a copy of the song, or where to download it.)
I'm so thankful that God lade this retreat on your heart and that I was allowed to come back for 2 years. If you don't fill up next year I might have to come back for a 3rd!
IF your reading this post and feel tired, worn out, unapreciated ready to quit, this retreat in 2010 is for you! If you feel on top of the world, ministry couldn't be better, your experiencing God's blessing,.. This retreat in 2010 is for you. Where ever you are if you haven't taken a week to get away from everything, you NEED this!
Trust me, It is worth every penny!

Sigh. That boy is just so cute. Mommy took over half these pictures, lest Karl get ALL the credit...he he. Normally I wouldn't care, but I get the credit for the motorcycle in the dirt shots, because he made me stand there while he played for about 20 minutes. Ha. And I love his hand on Tricia's cheek...so sweet, he loves his cousins.

People, if you think that the flood isn't true, then how come scientists are finding fossils of fish and other ocean creatures on the tops of mountains.
If you don't add God into the story of how the flood could have happened, then the story won't make sense.

This isn't really about anything on this post, but I just wanted to say that global warming isn't going to cause a huge global flood because God promised that he would never again flood the earth. He gave us the rainbow so the we can continually be reminded of his promise.

Melissa - WOW! You are observant! I'm tempted to claim its my twin brother that mom and dad kept from you all these years, and he was the one who was mean to you as a little girl! Never me!

Seriously, you cracked me up, because after spending like 20 minutes on that on the airplane home, I noticed that I added me to the wrong photo! So I redid it, but here used the wrong one. Not sure I'll get that fixed until after camp this week, so now everyone will see photographic proof of my split personality!

WOW! Now I am really "charged" to go next year. :) We're all thankful for your safety, but maybe you should add some things to the packing list for future years, like giant rubber boots!

We just stated our puppet team in January. We've just been calling ourselves the _PC Puppet team or puppet ministry. But, just yesterday we we're discussing the fact that we need a better name. I went on line and found your post. I have posted a few times about our puppets. We have a performance tonight. I would love to be in on any puppet connections you have. Thanks My blog is juliassewsweetandspecial.blogspot.com
