Then I had 2 in the basement to be replaced.  The first one went pretty smoothly.  The 2nd one was a light that we had probably never actually seen on since we bought the house.  I replaced everything and turned the power back on and it actually worked.  Flipped the switch and it still worked.  Now I’ve got one light in the basement that is just permanently on.

A week ago (almost exactly) I was camping.  Chances are you were there if you are reading this.  For some crazy reason I decided that my check card deserved to burn, so I tossed it into the fire.  I’m not exactly sure why I did that.  The card was due to expire in 9/10.  It had just turned to 8/10.  Maybe the booze was telling me its time was up, who knows?

So now I come back to real life without a check card.  Wednesday of this week I happen to be at Microsoft for a thing.  While there I get a card that will allow me to purchase up to $200 of software at the MS store at MS employee prices (which are HUGE discounts).  I had no check card so I couldn’t buy anything right then.

After reading the card I decided to grab an empty check and head back to the MS store a few days later.  The card I had did list “check” as one of the payment methods accepted.  It should be obvious where this story is going.  I got down there to find out they don’t accept checks.  The guy I was with offered to pay with his credit card but they need the credit card name to match the name on the gift card or whatever it was that had my name on it.  They really didn’t want to take my money.

Eventually I went to the bank and got the cash and bought the software.  Now I can finally get rid of Windows Vista!

Moral of the story: don’t toss your check card into the fire no matter how good of an idea it sounds in your head at the time.

But do put your horribly uncomfortable folding chair in the fire the next night.  That bitch deserved to burn!

I’m picking the challenger here only because I’m not sure if the champion still knows how to fight based on his last couple of fights. Chael Sonnen takes trash talking to a new level and that has to be worth something!

Fitch is one of my favorite fighters and I have a hard time picking anyone to beat him. I believe GSP is the only one to do so.

The Carpenter will fight through anything and probably fight through dos Anjos tomorrow night.

I thought Matt Hughes retired two years ago.  Is this his comeback fight?

Junior Dos Santos vs. Roy Nelson

I hate to pick against Big Country but JDS is nothing but very very impressing. I don’t think an extra Whopper will be enough to beat JDS.

If you don’t know – it is based on characters from the movie Madagascar. The 4 penguins live in the Central Park Zoo. Skipper is their leader. Private is the sensitive one. Kowalski is the mad scientist. Rico is the psychopath that can regurgitate weapons on command. It really is kinda wacky!

The voice of Kowalski sounds a lot like The dude that played Elaine’s boss on Seinfeld. Andy Richter does the voice of one of the lemurs and others such as Neil Patrick Harris, Wayne Knight, and Diedrich Bader have occasional appearances.

If you’ve got young children that watch shitty shows like Dragon Tales or Caillou I highly recommend that you get them some Penguins of Madagascar very soon.

Check out some “bonus scenes” of my favorite cartoon. This is way better than the crap I watched when I was young.

I have a hard time believing the commercials they put on TV for Windows 7. They have some random person talking usually about how Windows 7 was their idea because XP or Vista was too complicated and didn’t work very well for them. I always imagine them just saying “ahhh this windows sucks – make it better and easier to use”.

I’ll probably upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 when I can get my hands on a cheap copy, but I’m not paying $270 for it…

What I really wanna do is put Windows 7 on a small MacBook Pro. Anyone got a cheap 13 MacBook Pro for sale – or loan?
