What is your favorite cartoon? That might seem like a weird question, but with a 3 1/2 year old in the house I’ve ended up watching a few cartoons over the past 2 years. I have to admit he’s found one that I like too. The Penguins of Madagascar is good shit.

If you don’t know – it is based on characters from the movie Madagascar. The 4 penguins live in the Central Park Zoo. Skipper is their leader. Private is the sensitive one. Kowalski is the mad scientist. Rico is the psychopath that can regurgitate weapons on command. It really is kinda wacky!

The voice of Kowalski sounds a lot like The dude that played Elaine’s boss on Seinfeld. Andy Richter does the voice of one of the lemurs and others such as Neil Patrick Harris, Wayne Knight, and Diedrich Bader have occasional appearances.

If you’ve got young children that watch shitty shows like Dragon Tales or Caillou I highly recommend that you get them some Penguins of Madagascar very soon.

Check out some “bonus scenes” of my favorite cartoon. This is way better than the crap I watched when I was young.

Making a Magic The Gathering deck for a 3 year old

Luke has decided to take a liking to Magic The Gathering. He likes to shuffle through the cards and gives me a really surprised face when he finds something he likes – and he likes a lot. Recently he’s decided he wants to play. So I gave him my Planechase deck that I wasn’t going to do anything else with. I got the black deck which is called “Zombie Empire”. So we draw 7 cards, play lands and tap them to bring out creatures. I’ve typically just ignored everything other than creatures for him. He even has a favorite card and it actually is a really good one for that deck – the Death Baron. He calls it his green guy!

I figured it might be better to build some other type of deck for him to use until he is a little bit older. I’m thinking something mono-green. Which of these is more kid friendly?

Using Windows 7

I got a new computer and have started using Windows 7 at work this week. It is going to take some getting used to that new taskbar. What are your impressions of Windows 7?

I have a hard time believing the commercials they put on TV for Windows 7. They have some random person talking usually about how Windows 7 was their idea because XP or Vista was too complicated and didn’t work very well for them. I always imagine them just saying “ahhh this windows sucks – make it better and easier to use”.

I’ll probably upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 when I can get my hands on a cheap copy, but I’m not paying $270 for it…

What I really wanna do is put Windows 7 on a small MacBook Pro. Anyone got a cheap 13 MacBook Pro for sale – or loan?

What did you think of Food, Inc.?

I watched Food, Inc. tonight. It was amazing. I don’t feel like eating after seeing it but dammit my drug dealer says I have to have some food with my pills.

So what did you think about this show if you’ve seen it? Will it change the way you buy food?

I hope they don’t ever make “Beer, Inc.”, and if they do, I won’t watch it…

I am a secret shopper!

I am a secret shopper according to two of the bums hanging out at SunMart today just before noon!

I decided to go to SunMart and then home for 2nd meal today because I was really craving some pineapple juice. I picked up a few other items along the way as well. The last thing on my list was hot salsa. I had to backtrack through the store twice while looking for the salsa. As I rolled into the salsa aisle I passed these 2 bums that were just kinda hanging out there.

“Secret shoopers [lol] they’re so easy to spot, back and forth with the same basket of stuff” one of these bums says to the other one right as I’m walking in between the two. There was almost no one else in the entire store at the time so I know they were talking about me.

These 2 ended up in the checkout line right behind me, along with the crackhead girlfriend they probably share.

Maybe these guys weren’t bums and maybe they didn’t share a crackhead for a girlfriend. But their observations about me were quite wrong so I’m allowing myself some freedom in my observations of them.
