Rocky Run Family Activity Day

Let's spend Saturday afternoons with our Rocky Run family! We are now offering FREE Family Activity Days at the Y each month. We invite the whole family to join us for a fun afternoon. Each Saturday will have a new themed craft or activity.

These events are free, but registration is required. Events are open to members only.

Family Explorers Tyler Arboretum

Connect your family with the outdoors on this fun, interactive nature exploration designed to spark curiosity and wonder. Using simple tools like magnifying glasses, you will uncover the Arboretum’s plants, animals, and other seasonal highlights that bring the woodland trails to life.

PEEPS in the Village

This spring, Peddler’s Village presents the 3rd Annual PEEPS® in the Village, on display from Friday, March 9 through Sunday, April 12. The colorful display will include more than 90 creations of wall art, dioramas, and sculpture, featuring the popular Pennsylvania-made bunnies and chicks, and carefully handmade and contributed by Philly-area residents and organizations. Admission to the display is free. Guests are invited to vote for their favorite entries. Housed in the new Visitor & Event Center, located off Street Road and Peddler’s Lane.

Linvilla Orchard's famous Hayrides to Bunnyland is a hayride thru the woods to visit the Easter Bunnies' house, the Easter Bunny visits with everyone on the ride and gives them each a treat. Bring your camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny!

The Music Room hosts a special, themed holiday display. Kids of all ages will delight in a miniature Garden Railway decked out for the holidays. Thousands of poinsettias accented with amaryllis, artemisia, begonias, cyclamen, hybrid lilies, kalanchoes, paperwhites, red-berried plants, etc other flowers flourish inside acres of heated glass conservatories. Living wreaths, swags, and live floral trees adorn rooms throughout the Conservatory. Included in Gardens admission.

Come enjoy our FREE Holiday Lights Display from dusk to dawn (5pm-7am). Drive through our corporate campus and over 600,000 dazzling lights. We ask that all visitors stay in their cars for everyone’s safety.

The lights will start on Thanksgiving night (November 23). We will run through at least January 1, 2024. We look forward to seeing everyone and have some exciting new stuff planned for this year. We will also accept letters to Santa again this year.

We invite you to walk around and view our display. We, please, ask that you pull over and park next to our home. Please respect our neighbor's properties. Please do not park in front of our neighbor's homes, and please do not turn around in their driveways. There is a mailbox located at the front of the house for your letters to Santa. Don't forget to tune your radio to 87.9, so you can hear all the Christmas music and movie clips on the big screen.

Join us on Saturday, December 6th as we kick off a full day of festive fun at the Broomall Fire Company. This year, we’re excited to welcome Santa Claus and host a pancake breakfast prepared by the Broomall Fire Company Auxiliary!

Santa Visit (10:00am–1:00pm):

Santa will be stopping by the Broomall Fire Company (1 N. Malin Rd) to meet with families, take photos, and spread some holiday cheer with the Marple Township community. While this event is free to the public, pancakes will be hot off the griddle and for sale!

Want to catch Santa as he rides through town? Make sure to wave as he travels across Marple Township with a firetruck escort! Welcome the holiday season with Christmas in Wayne! Friday evening, enjoy carriage rides, arts and crafts at the Fire House, carolers, tree lighting, and Santa's Arrival. The event is from 5:30 - 8 pm.
Saturday, it is the Radnor Memorial Library Elves for Shelves Fun Run and 5 k at 8 am and the Santa Parade with Santa Pictures at 10 am.

Narberth Dickens Festival

The Narberth Dickens Festival is a free family event held each December on the streets of downtown Narberth. It draws thousands to this little borough every year, and it has become the fastest-growing holiday festival in the Philadelphia area. In this Dickens-themed event, the town of Narberth is transformed into 1840's London, as Ebenezer Scrooge and all the characters from A Christmas Carol roam the streets for an afternoon.

This is an early-access event, in which you will be admitted into the Train Gallery before the museum opens. Museum doors will open beginning at 8:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., the museum will open, and other visitors may begin to visit the Train Gallery. A holiday favorite since 1972, the Brandywine Railroad features trains running on 2,000 feet of track. It contains more than 1,000 pieces, including locomotives, passenger and freight trains, and trolleys that pass through a small village, a farm, factories, a drive-in movie theater, and even a carnival.

A dazzling array of both toy and scale model trains can be seen chugging through the varied scenery, including those made by Lionel, Williams, Atlas, Mike’s Train House, K-line, and others. Interactive components are also incorporated into the display to enhance engagement.

Saturday, it is the Radnor Memorial Library Elves for Shelves Fun Run and 5 k at 8 am and the Santa Parade with Santa Pictures at 10 am.

Narberth Dickens Festival
Sunday, December 7th Noon – 4 pm

The Narberth Dickens Festival is a free, family-friendly event held each December in downtown Narberth. It draws thousands to this little borough each year and has become the fastest-growing holiday festival in the Philadelphia area. In this Dickens-themed event, the town of Narberth is transformed into 1840s London, as Ebenezer Scrooge and all the characters from A Christmas Carol roam the streets for an afternoon.

As a special treat, children ages 11 and under will receive a gift from Santa and his helper during this nostalgic 45-minute steam train ride.

Along with delicious treats from the trucks make sure you grab a beer in the Beer Garden! The atmosphere will be filled with music and fun for the whole family! You won't want to miss it!

Not only will we have a great selection of trucks your family can enjoy all the fun Linvilla has to offer by going on a hayride*, a train ride* get your faces painted and the kids can even go on a pony ride! We look forward to you joining us for a fun filled day!

Lego Build Event at Barnes & Noble

Join us in store for a LEGO snowman holiday themed build event! This event is perfect for LEGO enthusiasts that are 10 and older but all are welcome.

Fall Harvest Hayrides at Linvilla Orchards

Enjoy views of the farm on a 15-minute ride through our fields on a Harvest Hayride! This hayride departs from Pumpkinland. Timed tickets are required.

Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards

An annual trip to Pumpkinland has been a family tradition for generations of Delaware Valley Residents. During the months of September and October, Pumpkinland takes center stage at Linvilla Orchards. Larger-than-life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, local history, and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.

Enjoy a brisk fall afternoon along the picturesque Chester Creek Valley from our train as we take you on a 90-minute journey back in time to the village of Glen Mills and return.
