There is a full-color teacher’s training manual, a student field manual and associated resources. The curriculum can be taught as a 12-week curriculum, or taught as a VBS or single weekend prayer summit. There are prayer activities for each lesson and take-home assignments that the children (soldiers) can do with their parents.

The curriculum may be purchased in electronic or print format. The electronic format will include the curriculum resources in a folder along with the manuals (in one zipped file). The print version will come with a Resource CD, along with the curriculum.

Worship Series: What God Needs Most

The foundation of prayer is a RELATIONSHIP with God. Prayer is not just lists of things we pray about, or something we do to be powerful Christians. We can get a thousand prayers answered and we can become powerful leaders but if we don’t really KNOW God in a personal way, then prayer is nothing more than things about US and what we can get done. Jesus wants to KNOW us—that person that’s deep down inside. He wants us to talk to Him like we talk to our BFFs. He wants to be our soul mate.

When we go to bad times, the only thing that will keep us is our RELATIONSHIP. It won’t matter if we won a thousand souls or laid hands on people and they were healed. What matters is that we know who to go to that will ALWAYS be there for us.

Use the following lesson with your children to discuss the way we understand love and how to love God the way He desires.

Worship & Praise Wall

Since worship and praise are essential in prayer we want to make it a regular part of our time training children to pray.Children by nature are egocentric and may need a little help in this area since it doesn’t focus on their needs. Here’s a great and fun way for children to integrate worship during your prayer meetings:

1. Teach your children about worship in general – what is it, how is it different than praise, why do we do it, etc.

2. Create a wall in your room that can be written on. This may be a wall that’s covered in butcher paper, construction paper, or you may use a blackboard or caulk board squares.

3. At the start of your kid prayer meeting room (as soon as the kids enter) or at the start of your prayer time at home, have them write a praise or worship word or phrase on the wall.

This gets them used to putting God first, and gets them thinking about how great He is and how they can express that in their own words. Occasionally take a picture of your wall for a keepsake or to share.

Holiday of Healing: Those in Despair

Millions of people are in despair everyday. They live lives full of anxiety and hopelessness. Issues of sickness, economic hardships, job loss, loss of a loved one and more plague their mind until all they feel is the heavy weight of depression. Holiday seasons can make this issue even worse. Those who live with despair and depression have little ability to pull themselves out of their black hole and often need the assistance of others to help them. Many of them take medications to help fight their situation, but the only true solution, is God.

Pray for God to:

Give hope to those who may be in despair today.
Show those in despair the peace of trusting in Your Name.
Strengthen those who are weak and despressed.
Heal the hurt in the heart of those who have lost a loved one.
Refresh us with new insight from your Holy Word. When there seems to be no hope, show us what You see, Lord.
Give them hope greater than their fear. Don’t let them give up hope.
Replace feelings of futility with positive thoughts of victory.
Make the Source of Hope plain to them. Flood their life with Your joy.
Show them your love in a special way today.
Expand their capacity for joy.
Give them victory today.
Deliver them who are captive to their unbelief.
Brighten their day through encouragement.
Show them hope in the dark.

What can you do?

1. Pray for those in despair and depression.

2. Give a word of kindness and encouragement to them.

3. Do something with the person to get their minds off of their situation.

4. Invite them over for fellowship. Spend time with them.

5. Talk about good memories they’ve had. Focus on the positive.

Holiday of Healing: Schools

The education system of today has drastically changed. Many schools today are filled with violence, guns, drugs, and fear. It used to be that metal detectors were only found in high-security buildings but now they are common in inner-city schools. School and college shootings are on the rise as students take out their fear, aggression and voice on their peers. Prayer in schools has been banned where it used to be the norm. Bullying has claimed lives of countless youth. NOn-biblical teaching are being integrated into classes and schoolbooks. This the environment that our children go to school in everyday.

Pray for God:

Keep those of bad influence from teaching in our schools.
Give our kids a heart for God.
Build strong character in our school kids.
Teach our children character as much as knowledge.
Return educators to moral principles, rejecting political pressure not to do it.
Turn back the secular worldview focus.
Help them make godly choices.
Return a spirit of integrity to our schools.
Protect the halls and keep those who walk there safe.
Convict those who try to revise history to their liking. Bring them truth and understanding from God’s Word.
Cause those who push drugs and alcohol in schools to be caught.
Take away distractions that separate students from You.
May the curriculum being used be one promoting virtue.
Guard over those who wait for buses.
Give the staff wisdom to deal with disobedience.
Weed out ungodly influence and replace it with Your Word and prayer.
Make it a safe place for students and students.

What can you do?

1. Pray for our school systems.

2. If you are a parent, pray over your child before they go to school each day. Pray God’s spiritual armor on them.

3. Be aware of what activities and issues are going on in the schools in your area.

4. Stay in contact with the teachers; they can give insight on many things that you can pray for.

Holiday of Healing: Natural Disaster Victims

The 2011 year has been filled with major natural disasters across our world including earthquakes, floods, tornados, tsunamis, mud slides, volcanos, wild fires, hurricanes, typhoons, and more. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost, which means even more families and cities and towns have been impacted. Each natural disaster brings economic hardship to the affected areas with loss of businesses, homes, schools and churches. The effects of natural disasters are immediate, as well as long lasting. It takes substantial amounts of time to recover and for families to start over.

During this holiday season think of these vast numbers of people and don’t just be thankful if it wasn’t you, but pray for them, as if it were. Bring them hope, and healing.

Pray:

that God would meet the needs of those who have experienced these disasters.
that disaster areas would be able to recover quickly and rebuild areas that were damaged or destroyed, including homes and businesses.
that people would not become bitter at God for the disaster but rather come to the understanding that we are not in charge and that God is our help in time of trouble.
that people would turn their hearts to God and realize what is most important during these times.
that city and government leaders would have wisdom to make wise choices when these disasters happen that would most benefit the people and their nation’s land.
that God would give peace to victims and those who have lost their families and friends during these times.
that God would provide godly homes for children who were orphaned because of the disaster.
that funds would be donated to assist the victims.
that insurance companies would quickly provide payment for damages on homes and businesses.

What can you do?

1. Pray for disaster victims.

2. Donate items to organizations who take relief aid to the areas of the world where these disasters happen.

3. Volunteer to help in your area so when a disaster hits close to you, you can be there as a support.

Holiday of Healing: Imprisoned Christians

In some of these nations it is illegal to own a Bible, to share your faith Christ, change your faith or teach your children about Jesus. Those who boldly follow Christ—in spite of government edict or radical opposition—can face harassment, arrest, torture and even death. Yet Christians continue to meet for worship and to witness for Christ, and the church in restricted nations is growing.” – PrisonerAlert.com

Christians who are imprisoned for their faith in Jesus Christ face horrible conditions each day. They are tortured, sleep-deprived, starved, worked excessive hours, live in horrid cells and rooms and given to no outside interaction. They worry for their families who are often harassed and in some cases, killed. They face little hope of freedom, and yet… many continue to serve God in spite of their conditions. Many will die for the cause of Christ, while many more will spend the rest of their lives in a jail cell in pain from daily tortures. Their joy is knowing that their reward is in heaven, not on this earth – they put God first, above their own safety and families, to bring Him glory worldwide.

Pray:

That they will continue to have strength to stand for God despite their abuse and pain
That they will have peace in their spirit, knowing that they will be rewarded in heaven for everything they endure
That God will protect their families and they will not have to fear about them
That they will forgive those who have imprisoned and tortured them
For protection in prison and favor with the guards – many of whom get converted by the testimonies and forgiveness of these imprisoned Christians
For food, clothing and that their needs would be met
For encouragement, prayers, and support from those who are free
That their situation would bring awareness in their areas and worldwide, bringing God glory and people to Him
That leaders in those nations would be converted and change the laws that allow imprisonment of Christians because of their belief in God

What can you do?

1. Pray for them.

2. Be an advocate for imprisoned Christians around the world. Bring awareness to this issue in your area.

3. Join a cause and support ministries geared to help those who are imprisoned.

Holiday of Healing: Hurting Children

“Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Too often young children are considered insignificant and unimportant when it comes to spiritual matters. When this nonchalant attitude toward young children exists, they are neglected in prayer. If we choose to follow the example of Jesus, children will be an extremely vital part of our prayers. Jesus pressed little children and infants close to His heart. He prayed for them and blessed them. When He was criticized for this action, He was moved with indignation and emphatically declared, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

Across our world are millions of hurting children. In areas of the 10/40 Window there are children enslaved, those who are forced to fight in wars before they are even teenagers, those who are trafficked for money and perverted pleasures, those who are orphaned due to war, disease and famine, those who are homeless, and those who are just plain neglected. Many of these children deal with physical problems as well as emotional problems of abandonment, bitterness, low self-worth, anxiety, fear, and more. They become products of their surroundings, which often is filled with violence and sin.

Children cannot reconcile matters like adults; they need prayer, and help from Christian people and God. Take today and pray for children all over the world.

Pray that God will raise up children to a great work for him
Pray for the innocent children born into families where the parents are unsaved and involved in ungodly behavior.
Pray for the children who live in nations where there is war or famine.
Pray for the Lord to send laborers into these places to bring the good news of the power of God to deliver from sin and fill these lost souls with His Holy Spirit.
Pray for the children around the world who are mistreated, abused, and taught false doctrine that will cause them to be lost
Pray for physical healing for children who have AIDS, disease, disabilities and malnutrition.
Pray for emotional healing for children who have been abandoned, abused or neglected.

Your friends
Kids in your neighborhood
The neighborhood bully and children who get in trouble a lot.

The prayers of the righteous avail much! Thousands of tons of snow have been known to thunder down a mountainside because one skier shouted a few words. The snow was ready to move. It only needed a small disturbance. So it is with prayer when it moves the Holy Spirit into action. A few words, focused, fervently and fitly spoken in prayer with faith in the name of Jesus, can set off an avalanche of God’s power in the lives of children throughout the world.

What can you do?

1. Pray for children

2. Befriend and encourage children who are in bad home situations. Pray for their emotional and physical healing.

3. Visit orphanages and children’s hospitals. Bring some smiles to those who are lonely and hurting.

4. Donate clothes, shoes, toys, books and food to those who are poor. Instead of giving away your stuff to thrift stores, find a donation project or center that focuses on the needs of children across the world.

5. Go on a missions trip to another nation and visit those who are in need. Get to know your world so you can better pray for them.

6. Instead of giving extra gifts to your own children or your families’ children, donate a child’s gift to a needy family.
