Whining, Crying, and Happiness.

I don't know if today is the day to write my post about Ollie's first 6 months. He just won't stop with the whining add in his brother doing the same and I want to run away. In reality there have been more good days then bad but seems to me the bad stick with you longer then the good.

It is hard to believe that he has gone from such a tiny little creature. Who was easy going and didn't know any different to the I have an opinion and I am going to let it be known dude he is today.

He can say "Hey, Mama, Dada, Bubba(this is the most recent and comical, it is always said in anger), and Abby". I don't know if I am relived that he is more interested in talking then moving. I know though that him stay in place days are numbered. By the crappy sleep we are getting here, I would imagine sometime in the next week.

Teeth, none that you can see but about 3-4 you can feel have popped through the gums. He isn't a bad teether not yet, with that one of the teeth that has started is an eye tooth. So I know he is feeling it.

His favorite toys are, the ball that GiGi got you for Christmas, Sophie the very expensive dog toy, and anything of your brothers he can get his hands on. Not that Ian likes sharing.

He loves to snuggle, and most nights around 4 am he wakes up and wants in bed with us. Unlike your brother was/is you are a snuggler. For the most part I like that, I never thought I would be a part time bed sharer. I don't even mind it.

Food, he has tried rice cereal, banana, apple (both puree and sucked on a piece), puffs (numerous flavors) he can feed these to himself, green beans, and a few other things I can't remember. He is finally really getting interested in what we are eating and wanting to eat him self. I don't know how I feel about this, it seems as if his baby hood is flying by.

I can't remember life with out him. He is the missing piece to our family puzzle.

These first six month have flown by and been field with so many emotions. I can't wait to see what the rest of his life brings.

In my mind though it was to close to The Bloggess's header. It used this photo edited differently. I have been rocking rollers since my freshman year in high school. I have been know to wear them in public more then once actually. Heck I been known to wear them to class when I need them to sit for a length of time. I doubt that friend has that header anymore but do you think it would offend The Bloggess if I used this picture?

In my birth story with Ollie, I talked about my cousin. My first best friend, Kimberly Laura. As I was going through pictures for my new header early this week. I stumbled upon the one in my header with the rollers in my hair. I was getting ready for her wedding. I love her, even when we don't like each other. Trust me those moments have been as plentiful as the good. Being that we are two years apart in age, we have had lots of good and bad.

I miss her, I don't get to see her enough. We both are married now with babies. I am grateful to have her there to call on whenever I need her.

I love the fact that she was there when Ollie was born. When I thought she wasn't going to make it I was heart broken. I knew my other cousins would be there but Kimberly and I have a special bond. One that I don't think I can or ever will be able to explain.
I miss being ten minutes from her. I miss the fact that Ian and Wyatt won't grow up as close as she and I. I don't think this post has a point, but it was on my mind. I don't know if I should publish it but I will.

I dumbly thought it was just going to miss Ollie. Boy was I wrong, he was the last to catch it and poor guy has had it the longest, he can't seem to kick it.

I am in full party planning mode over here, with Casey and Ian's birthdays just 8 days apart. I even managed to mail real paper invites for both parties in a timely manner. A first for me, my wedding invitations went out 21 days before the wedding. So there wasn't even time to worry about RSVPS for it.

So with getting invites out at all, I included information to RSVP. Today is the date I put for Ian's invite. As of yesterday I had heard from a handful of people. I am so frustrated, is the concept of the rsvp dying?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walgreens is my go to pharmacy since they have the most 24 hour pharmacies and drive thru pharmacy nationwide.

Recently Walgreens and Express Scripts cut ties, how will this effect us the consumer? After contract negotiations between Walgreens and Express Script failed. What is Walgreens doing to help us the consumer? Their answer to no longer contracting with Express Scripts is to offer us the consumer is for consumers to enroll in the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club.

Who is effected by Express Scripts and Walgreens ending their contract?

Numerous consumers including America's military families who use Tricare.

What is the cost to the consumer to become a member of the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club?

Right now during the month of January they are offering single person memberships for $5. Families can join for $10. A Family membership can include dependents up to the age of 22 and some pet medications.

What can a consumer expect from a membership with Walgreens Prescription Savings Club?

A consumer can expect discount on over 8,000 brand name and all generic medications.

Also included is discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers, and diabetic supplies.

Once a member you get bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photo finshing services.

So I hope that this information can help you understand the recent changes that Walgreens and Express Script ending their contract and what Walgreens is doing to help ease the burden.

Want to keep up with Walgreens:

	Follow them:

	Walgreens on Twitter

	Walgreens on Facebook

If you follow me on twitter you may already know that this week has been a rough one (those aren't adequate words) for two families I am close too. Both lost a son one was 3.5 months old and the other 23. So my heart has been heavy this week with worry for my boys. I want to never take them for granted, and to cherish all the moments the good and THE BAD.

I like it, the title, and so on but I got it redsigned about a year ago and I don't know how to change it something I can mess with. I am also feeling kind of trapped with the title, which I love but I feel like I can't write just to ramble like I used too. I know it is my blog, I can do what I want. I think I am at a point where I don't know what to do. Hence the quiet that has been going on. I have been writing more on Bobbi Babbles. Who knows.

On an unrelated note, we are staying here in the townhome. The owner is willing to work with us on paying the deposit out, now we have to figure out our budget but we can make this work. I have to stop stressing and give it over to the lord.

As you all know this past year hasn't been the kindest to us in the financial sense. Well today we got another lemon.

So today we were notified by the new owner of our property that we have 72 hours to decide whether or not at the end of our lease term we are renewing or moving, which is 60 days from the end of our lease term. If we decide to stay we have to come up with another $625 to add to the security deposit we paid when we moved in last year, when the property was bank owned. With everything that has happened to us in the past year the cost of moving again isn't even a possibility, but this $625 plus our rent going up every month by $75 is really scary. We just don't know how to make it all happen so please pray that we can come to some kind of peace with everything that has to happen in the next 72 hours.

SO as I just we have three days to figure out what we are gonna do. Hopefully putting this out there and giving it to the universe and god will help us find an answer.

Lots and lots of Christmas lights, everywhere from the tree to outside.

Hot Coffee and Hot Cocoa, being that I only drink these when the weather is cooler and here in Texas that doesn't happen till the Holidays are here.

Now that I have kids of my own the annual trips to visit Santa are back, and the joy those bring.

Then there are the more spiritual comforts that the holidays bring to me. Like spending lots of time with friends and family. I feel like we need to make the time for friends and family all year not just a six week time period. Then sitting down and wrapping the gifts that I have poured my thoughts and love into picking for my loved ones. Watching their face as they unwrap my gift for them, I was taught at a young age it is better to give then receive. I still feel that way, it is tough this year. I am unable to give to all that I want to, I hope that they understand. Donating my time in years past has brought me comfort knowing that those in need are getting the help that they deserve. Can't forget the smells of the season, my home smelling of the goods I am baking. I think my all time favorite is the magic that this season brings to young children, and that magic brings out the magic in nearly everyone. Along the lines of the magic, getting to be Santa is new to me but bring me so much joy and joy is a comfort to my soul.

These are just a few of the comforts the holidays bring to me, what are a yours?

Comfort is the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday gift list, so be sure to take advantage of Tempur-Pedic's Buy 2, get 1 free pillow offer! I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective.
I chose to do this post so I could buy Casey a Christmas gift he didn't pay for, know what I mean.
If you are reading this anywhere but Kid to Grownups feed, then it has been stolen. Today has been a ball of unhappy Ollie, I knew all signs led to teething. So I got brave, I have been bitten once to many times by the toddler for my liking. Stuck my finger in to investigate and what does my wandering finger feel, the start of a tooth popping through. Except it isn't where it is supposed to be, the first tooth through is normally one of the bottom front four. Now oddball Ollie decided getting his right upper canine is the way to go. Mama's back me up, I have blocked teething for the most part the canines are almost if not worse then the molars. So it has begun the dreaded teething monster has taken my sweet happy baby. On the good side, I now know what to put in Ollie's stocking.

I won't let you win this time, I lived with you and the dark cloud for too long after Ian. If it would not have been for my amazing husband, Gabe, Abby, Sarah, and Dustin. Ian and I might not be standing here on the other side. This time the beast did not show up nearly as quickly this time. Just a few weeks ago, I was telling Abby how great I was feeling this time. I hadn't had any of the crazy thoughts overwhelming my mind like last time. Then they start creeping in, it started with the thought of Ollie and I falling down the stairs and one or the other dying. Then Ian started this bird like screech that is mind melting to hear.
Any advice?

The weekends leading up to Halloween and Halloween where busy here. The festivities kicked off with a our friends annual Halloween party. Then there was a showing of one of my favorite movies at Mockingbird Station hosted by the Angelika. Where there was a costume contest, sadly not many people showed up in costumes but the winner was very creative. The judges were from the Dallas Children's Theater and they were dressed as characters from The Wiz.

The Winner

The Judges

The best part of the movie event was Mockingbird Station had hired The Circus Freaks to perform before the movie. The stilt walker Tree could hula hoop and still look graceful on her stilts.

Our Halloween Festivities drew to a close with Trick or Treating in Abby's parents neighborhood, Ollie was a monster who stayed with Gigi (that is what Ian decided to call Abby's mom when he was around a year old) and John helping pass out candy. Ian the Farmer rode in his wagon and went trick or treating.

All in all it was a great time for us.
Shutterfly has thousands of options, I just spent over an hour going through them all. How is it picking that perfect card to send out to all your friends and family so hard? I mean I don't remember my mom stressing over Holiday cards. After narrowing down my options, I then had to decide what pictures to use. Overall I have to say the whole process was pretty simple. The only thing I wish Shutterfly had was an import from other sites option. Otherwise though I give the whole process a 8 out of 10. The site is easy to navigate, lots of design choices, and easy ordering process.
Holy hell, where did my sweet Ollie go? He has been replaced by a non-napping, screaming, cranky bub. Yes he has always had a need for me, but last night Casey couldn't even hold him with out him melting down. I wonder if part of the reason yesterday evening was so rough is he didn't nap all afternoon. Well that theory got shot in the foot when he woke up in the same mood. This was after him sleeping beside me all night, even if I waited till he was fully asleep and tried to place him in his bed. It failed miserably. This mama was ready to pull her hair out, so I broke out the moby and decided we were going on a family walk. I went out to set up the jogging stroller to push Ian, and what do I find? It has 2 flats, I about cried. We pulled out our umbrella stroller and decided to go anyways, wow is all I can say. It isn't meant for neighborhood style walking. We came back in and start the smurf dvd at Ian's request for the second time. While I prepared lunch, to the music of a crying baby. We got lunch served for all of us, clean diapers, and then they went to their beds. So far everyone has quieted down, strike that Ian is singing. lets hope for a better evening.

This new momma needed a break, and when the invite to a happy hour hosted by 3 Musketeers at The W Hotel. I jumped at the chance and evening out with no kids add in chocolate and drinks it was pretty close to perfect. Knowing that I would be seeing blogging friends was icing on the cake. So Casey (not my husband) and I hit the road, it was nice to know that I would have a couple of hours where no one asked me to get them anything.

It was so nice to catch up with old friends and meet some amazing new social media influences. I also got a chance to try the new more chocolatey 3 Musketeers, and in my humble opinion bring back the old less chocolatey flavor.

I am in love with the art and decor of The W, I want the above pictured couch for my home.

This post will more then likely be long, picture heavy, a bit rambly and emotional for me. I make no promises that it will make any sense.

I went on sunday night to start it all, Casey took me while Ian hung out with his Papaw. We got to the hospital and were put into what I thought was going to be my room, while the nurses were looking over my birth wishes. They came in and said that they were going to move me to the corner room to be sure that there was going to be enough room for everyone I wanted present, this is were I have to say all but one nurse at my hospital were amazing. They moved me instead of telling me that my family couldn't be with me, I was put in a corner room that was huge. I told them they didn't have to and they said no they didn't but they wanted me to have a great birth. So after I got settled in, got everything signed, sealed, and almost delivered. Casey went home, I love him but a hospital room isn't a comfy place to sleep. So I was left alone with my thoughts, were I wondered how the next day was going to go. One sleeping pill later and I was relaxed enough to be able to get some rest before the big show.

The nurses came in at 6:30 and asked me if I wanted to shower before we started the pit. I jumped on the chance, knowing full well that it would be relaxing. Until I got in and even on the hottest setting the water was cold. Why is the water on the Labor and Delivery floor always so cold?

Around 8 the nurse came in and started my PIT, I knew from my labor with Ian that this wasn't going to be fun. This time though I wanted to go longer or maybe the whole time with our pain medication. Not 10 minutes later my OB came in and wanted to break my water. I told him no, that I was only 2cm and had just started the PIT it wasn't necessary. I was hoping they would break on it's own. After he left, I asked if I could get on my birthball. As soon as I sat down on it, I realized how much more comfortable it was then that damn bed. At this point my 2 of my Aunt's, Mama, Daddy, and Casey all arrived. My Wishes was to be surrounded by family at all times. At 9:30 my OB came in and again asked to break my waters and to check me, I knew that to get him off my back I need to give to get. So I let him check me and I was at a 3, at this point with Ian my water had already broken. So I let him break my water, holy hell it was a horrible experience. The pain of it and how violated I felt. I got back on the birthball, which helped the pressure on my hips. At this point my Cousin Kimberly called at said she didn't know if she was gonna make it. I broke down at that point all I wanted was my Laura Jean, I can imagine my husband was feeling really loved at the moment. My Aunt Doll (her mom) was on the phone with her as I was crying and she was saying she was gonna try to make it. The next phone call was my Cousin Brandi telling me I hadn't invited her mom, but she was on her way. For the record I had invite my Aunt Cindy, she had told me no. She was also telling me she was waiting on my Cousin Candi and they would be on their way. While waiting for them get there, my Aunt Bonnie proceeded to get my mind off having a baby by asking me about my make up, hair, and whatever popped into her mind. All this time I was pretty much being left alone by amazing nurse. Heck she wasn't even coming to adjust the PIT very often at all. After about 4 hours on the ball, I was beginning to hurt and they were having trouble keeping on the Ollie on the monitor.

I decided to switch between standing/leaning on the bed and the rocking chair. At this point my amazing nurse had to go into surgery and she was replaced with the bitch of a nurse. Her first interaction with me was to come in and try to adjust my PIT level with even saying a word to me. I stopped her asked her what she was doing, she told me. When I asked her if she had read my birth wishes she said yes, I said did the part about not doing anything with out telling me slip your mind. She said no but what she was doing was procedure, I said not to me. She stomped out, she was very pissed. At that point my cousins arrived, all of them including Kimberly with our other Cousin Tasha. I was so happy, that they were all there.

I was beginning to feel exhausted from the pain, it was going on one pm. So when the bitch nurse came in to adjust my pit, I asked what had to happen to some iv pain meds? I knew the answer before I asked, I knew it was gonna be get checked and get in bed and stay in bed. I knew that I need to take the edge off, I know my limits and I was reaching them. So I got checked and was only at 4, as I got medicated I felt some relief. I became loopy and was making my family crack up. At that point I asked where Dr. FeelGood was, they told me he was going into surgery and he would be at least an hour. So my family went to grab something to eat, all except my Aunt Doll and Kimberly Laura they stayed with me.

My nurse came in and asked me if I still wanted an epi, if so Dr Feelgood is available but I needed to be checked. At this point it was around 1:30 and when checked I was still a 4. I said yes to the drugs, hope that I could at least get some rest. He came in and placed it and something wasn't right, I could still feel everything on my left side. He came adjust the med level and I felt relief for about 90 minutes where I got a nap in and it was amazing.

I woke up from that nap, to feeling everything my epi wasn't working and I wanted it fixed. Well they came in and checked me told me I was only at a 6. At that point Dr not so feel good, came in and said everything was in place and should be working. At this point, I just wanted to be through so I agreed to hospital procedure for pit. Which is uping it every 15 mins, it was horrid. I was crying out in pain, I felt like my right hip was going to break. Ollie's head was hitting it so hard.

Turns out all the pain I was feeling must have been transition, I went from a 6 to ready to push in about an hour and 15 minutes. I was very vocal during this time, so vocal that my pain made my normal calm and level headed Aunt cry. During all this the nurse was trying to tell me that I wasn't contracting enough to be in that much pain, well at that point the amazing nurse from the morning comes in and realizes that the thing placed on my belly wasn't working. So they placed an internal probe for contractions only, nothing was placed on Ollie.

I knew when it was time to start pushing, they came in and Ollie wasn't taking it so well. It also turned out that he had pooped since they had broke my water. I knew from listening to my Aunts that Ollie really wasn't doing well, so I pushed until I couldn't anymore. I pushed for around 15-20 minutes and Ollie was born at 5:27pm.

After he was born my family who had all been present, as I had wanted attention shifted to Ollie. All except my Aunt Doll who stayed with me as I hemorrhaged and the nurse kept working on me. They finally got in under control and I was able to hold Ollie. .

While I was waiting to hold Ollie, after they finally got the bleeding slowed. My Cousin Kimberly made sure that she wiped my tears.

My family all loved on our newest member and chatted, while we waited for big brother Ian to arrive with his Aunt Abby. I was so exhausted, over come with joy and so hungry.

After everyone had left and I had gotten a chance to get up. Casey went and got me some panda express and that was the best meal ever. There was something going on the postpartum floor so it was taking along time for us to transfer. I was okay with this since I got to spent lots of time with my new baby.

I am posting this with out going back through and rereading as I am crying again. So please forgive any mistakes.

It has been just me and the boys. It has been an interesting transition, not rough. I hadn't really been alone yet with the boys since Ollie had been born.

There has been a few tears on all of our parts.

Monday was tough, Ollie was looking for Casey all day. He was whiny and clingy, as soon as Casey got home he perked right up. Ian hasn't seemed to be phased by Casey being gone. I on the other hand miss him. Unlike previous times, I have enjoyed getting to spend so much time with my husband.

Now don't get me wrong it wasn't all wine and roses. This was a tough time for us but I realized that if we can come through all that life has thrown at us in our short time together. We can make it through anything.

Slowly but surely though I am getting my SAHM legs back. I think we seem to be settling into a nice little routine. I hope we can keep it up. I am one lucky lady, to get to stay home with my boys.

If you are reading this anywhere but Kid to Grownups feed, then it has been stolen. I love fall, the cooler weather, friday night lights, etc. Most of all I love me some halloween, I was the quirk kid whose costumes never really made sense to anyone but her. I usually made them from things I had around the house. No this post isn't about the boys and my costumes which for the record, I need to get going on and will me awesome. It is about painting pumpkins with Ian. It didn't go how I imagined, he was very wary of sticking his fingers in the paint I had out. He wanted to squeeze the paint directly on his pumpkin and then put his fingers in it. I think he got more paint on him then his pumpkin. All in all though it was a fun adventure.
