The home of good albums, Sub Pop, are just about to release an album from a group of self-proclaimed hard-hitting hippies, namely Rose Windows and their debut LP The Sun Dogs.

South African adventurer, seeker of truth and purveyor of fine tales (and dashing good looks) Ian McNaught-Davis has returned from a trip to India.

He had this to say:

I recently took leave from work and spent some time in India where I worked on a photo project documenting the daily life of Tibetans who’ve escaped the (alarmingly unreported) incidents of Chinese oppression in their by fleeing through the Himalayas and are living in exile in Northern India in a town called Dharamsala.

I’m currently working on a photo essay of the experience, but in the meanwhile here’s a video with scenes and portraits from the trip, including some time I spent in Varanasi and New Delhi.

Today sees the release of Vampire9000′s fresh EP entitled Honesty – a collection of 4 upbeat, dreamy tracks that have found their release to the world on the wonderfully independent South African label  So Many Animal Calls.

This fan-made documentary provides for some interesting back stories and interview snippets from West and co. dating back to  before College Dropout and running up until My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

The man has had a vision and it is driven by an undying passion and dedication. This video will be of interest to anyone with the slightest desire to be an artist in this modern age – Kanye outlook and attitude are quite inspiring.

Oszvald picked up a camera  only about 18 months ago, however, boasts a seemingly preternatural ability to create and edit beautiful images.

Earl Sweatshirt releases the 2nd track from his forthcoming LP Doris.

This track features Mac Miller, who says of the collab, ”We’re definitely kind of pretty similar people. We’re both very nice. We’re trying to do good things, but also we try to be assholes at the same time.”

La Danza de la Realidad (The Dance of Reality) is a new film from filmmaker, playwright, actor, author, musician, comics writer and spiritual guru Alejandro Jodorowsky. The film is based on Jodorowsky’s autobiography of the same title, and follows his childhood in Chile.

British producer Slugabed has released his new track called Bom Bok, and the accompanying video is quite incredible – easily the most fascinating video we’ve seen in a long while.

Now bom bok means something along the lines of fucked up, crappy or shit in colloquial Turkish. I can imagine how there are people who might think that the music video for this track is a load of bom bok, and I can understand why – I mean its a video of a fat dude who arises out of the beach sand, swims in the ocean and morphs into a god of sorts, and then is meet by his loyal devotees who welcome him by gorging themselves on colourful food before things appear to go wrong and they die around a fire while fat gold god dances and laughs and then disappears back into the ocean.

This may very well be a very well constructed and depiction of life for humans – I think we’re at the portion after the food party and about to follow the fat gold god to the fire…

The video is directed by The Great Nordic Sword Fights, an experiment director duo who are “always hanging between the polar realms of fantasy and reality.”
