Story Of The Year have shared an official video for their song “See Through.” The track appears on the group's latest album, “A.R.S.O.N.” (“All Rage, Still Only Numb”). A press release offered more details:

“The music video for ‘See Through,’ directed by Jordan Phoenix, transports Story Of The Year to a mysterious laboratory, where frontman Dan Marsala takes on the role of a mad scientist determined to create his dream girl. But when the experiment takes an unexpected turn, his creation quickly descends into chaos. Quoting Gary Wallace in Weird Science, the band says, ‘Making a girl. Actually making a girl. Like Frankenstein…except cuter.’”

Set Your Goals’ debut album “Mutiny!” turned twenty this year and vocalist Matt Wilson is here to walk us through the record. Check it out below!

First of all, how does it feel knowing Mutiny turns 20 this year?

Recording and touring around Mutiny! feels like it all happened several lifetimes ago now (because it was), but the songs still feel familiar and have stayed fresh in the rotation of our live set. It's like revisiting an old friend :)

How did you feel when the album came out? 

I remember being with the rest of the band at the time, and our initial surprise at how much buzz the songs were getting online. We'd had our doubts because the recording process wasn't the easiest--we all got super sick in Seattle, our trailer had been stolen with everything in it, and we didn't head into the studio feeling like we were fully prepared to record our debut album. The album's reception made us feel like the struggle had all been worth it. 

Where do you think the album fits in the band's legacy? 

Personally, I see it as a fan favorite. It helped us to define our sound and has some of our most beloved songs on it. Even though we had a bigger budget and bigger sounding production on TWBTDOU and we'd honed our skills for crafting songs a bit more by then, Mutiny! represents a time and place where we were young and there were still no rules to what we were doing. For that reason, I feel it holds a great deal of sentimental value for the band and listeners alike.

How did the band approach writing? What inspired the lyrics?

We took a lot of influence from the bands we were listening to at the time, which was primarily hardcore and hardcore-influenced music. Bands like Lifetime, Reach The Sky, Saves The Day, Buried Alive, and Gorilla Biscuits. Lyrically, Jordan and I would collaborate on themes and each contribute lyrics to the melodies we'd written. We mostly took inspiration from life experiences and our frustrations with the way the world worked, i.e. growing up around organized religion ("An Old Book Misread"), processing death and grief ("Echoes"), the cutthroat nature of the music industry ("Mutiny!"), and struggles within friendships ("This Very Moment").

Do any of the themes touched on the album still hold relevance for you?

Absolutely, all of them do. We were writing from a genuine place of our perspective on the world, and that perspective hasn't changed. In many cases, it's only intensified.

What were your hopes and expectations for the record during the writing and recording process?

We honestly just hoped we could get it all done in time and have it not suck! We felt that if the bar wasn't too high and people liked the record, then it would be easy to knock the next one out of the park in terms of energy and composition haha. I feel we accomplished that. 

When was the last time you listened to the record? Are there memories and emotions that come back

Probably the day before we rehearsed for Warped Tour in Long Beach last weekend. Listening to the songs evokes many memories of the recording experience in Barrett's old studio in Seattle and the writing process around the songs before that. Some I recall more fondly than others haha

What do you remember most about making the album?

The day that Barrett came into The Laundry Room (his old studio) and told us that the building had been bought out by Taco Del Mar. The company's HQ was upstairs and he was going to have to move out. He was very upset and we really felt for him. He'd put his heart and soul into this studio and it had been ripped from his hands by some wack corporation that sold mid fish tacos.

It's funny how the first memory that sticks out about a recording experience sometimes doesn't have anything to do with the record, but still creates a ripple effect that undoubtedly impacts the vibe regardless. Boycott Taco Del Mar!

Were there any bands in particular you enjoyed playing with while touring for the record?

So many. The Warriors, Turmoil and Make Move definitely were great people to tour with and we are all still friends to this day. We actually met Audelio when he was playing with Make Move and he obviously ended up joining the band shortly thereafter. Oscar from Make Move was hanging at Warped on Sunday with his family.

Our upcoming East Coast leg of the Mutiny! 20-year anniversary tour features The Warriors playing their debut full-length War Is Hell, and they're still incredible live. Jon Gula ended up doing guest vocals for Gaia Bleeds on our next album and we're still tight with those guys too.

How did things change for the band after the album came out?

Everything kicked into high gear. We had to figure out a plan for how to tour full time. We had booking agents and managers flying out to our shows, our first overseas tours, and offers to play with some of our favorite bands across the world. It was an exciting time.

Do you remember what you were listening to at the time?

We were listening to a pretty wide range of bands we'd toured with and grown up listening to. Here are a few favorites I remember having heavy rotation in the van:

Do you think of the album any differently now than you did when you recorded it?

The only thing that's changed is probably my standard for production quality. Growing up listening to a lot of hardcore and punk, terrible recordings were the norm. Now I've grown to appreciate when something sounds sonically pleasing.

I think the recording could sound better, and our performances could too--as we've naturally leveled up our skill set with time--but that's also a part of what makes it special. It represents a certain time and place in our lives, and I appreciate that for what it is. 

Did you ever expect the album to have the influence it did?

We knew at the time that the energy around the record was so electric that it would be a big deal, but it's honestly amazing that people still listen and remember it 20 years down the road. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to play these songs two decades later.

Glasswaves have shared a new track called “SCARed.” That song will appear on their new album, “while (True),” which will be out on October 23. Vocalist Noah Rich said the following:

“‘SCARed‘ captures that moment when your thoughts turn to static, and you can’t tell what’s real, what’s memory, or what’s just yourself unraveling. From the moment Owen, our producer, and I got in the room with this song, we knew it was something special.”

Clutch have premiered a new video for their new single “Wasted Lands.” That song serves as the title track of their new album, which will be out on January 27.

Frontman Neil Fallon said the following:

“The inspiration for the lyrics in ‘Wasted Lands’ came about when it was brought to my attention that someone had been dragging my name on FaceBook (weird, right?). Apparently, I had reneged on a free t-shirt and dinner. I think it was a prize in a pay to play contest. Not to overstate the obvious, but it was a load of horse hockey. Many people tried to explain to this person that it was not me and that they had been hustled. But they simply would not believe it. So I thought, screw it, no half-measures. You want a monster? Let’s give you one.”

Drummer Jean-Paul Gaster continued:

“There’s a part where Neil says, ‘Vegetable, mineral, man, or beast. ‘And I put a bass drum on, ‘man or beast, ‘ and Machine thought that was kind of weird. He was like, ‘Man, you’re covering up the vocal!’ And I said, ‘No, that bass drum is gonna make the crowd go nuts, I guarantee it. ‘ And it does, because there’s nothing more exciting than having a big bass drum slam through a PA, and Neil singing a vocal on top of it. I mean, I get goosebumps from that, you know?”

The band also commented on the album:

“Exploded monuments, haunted coal towns, robber barons, time cops, a chestburster, fifteen tons of antimatter and a creature called Neil Patrick Fallon. ‘Wasted Lands’ came from one clear intention: write a great rock record that will make fans go nuts when they hear these songs live, while leaving enough space in the creative process to follow the unexpected turns that keep Clutch exciting to us and our fans after thirty-five years together.”

Vocalist/guitarist Justin Broadrick said the following:

“Music for me, is rarely complete, but it has to reach a point where enough is enough. Creatively, there has to be self-discipline. One has to end it.

‘Decay‘ was born from the same sessions as ‘Purge‘. It was one huge pool of songs. I picked what I felt was appropriate for what I wanted to achieve with ‘Purge‘, with the intention of releasing the songs that didn’t fit as a new album within a year of ‘Purge‘ being released. Unfortunately, two years passed whilst considering external labels, so that I didn’t have to self-release Godflesh anymore, but it took an awful lot of time to establish a comfortable home for me. The recordings were done, but as usual for me, I did change a lot of stuff once I came back to it.

Fortunately, all of the recordings for ‘Decay‘ were completed long before the surgery, vocals included… although the back end of a couple of songs were recorded with the hernia itself, and that was a struggle. I was already aware that the Godflesh shout, so to speak, was exacerbating the hernia greatly, as was every Godflesh performance in the lead-up to the surgery once the hernia appeared, and the hernia was mostly caused by year upon year of shouting in Godflesh. The album was mixed post-surgery, and while I was still in some pain and considerable discomfort, but fortunately Godflesh is generally me expressing my pain, albeit [usually] mental, philosophical and existential, whereas this was physical pain.

It expresses my pain, and I’ve put my body and soul into this expression for the majority of my existence. I feel quite lucky, because Godflesh is now physically impossible for me, rendering it useless. I now wish to move out of its constraints, move on creatively with heavy/ugly music to new ground.”

From Ashes To New have shared an official video for “Love Me” off the new deluxe edition of “Reflections.” That expanded effort will be out on November 13. Vocalist Matt Brandberry said the following:

“‘Love Me’ is about that person who was supposed to be there for you, but they completely vanish, essentially becoming a ghost. You still vividly remember how it felt when they were actually around, to the point where you can still feel their breath on your skin, even though no one is there. This track creates a heavy, haunting atmosphere that mirrors that exact feeling of reaching out for a presence right next to you, only to grasp at empty air. It captures the sheer desperation of watching your own memories turn into a cage that feels impossible to break out of.”

Motörhead will be releasing a remixed 40th anniversary edition of “Orgasmatron” on November 6. The following was said about that in a press release:

“Released in 1986, Orgasmatron featured the line-up of Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel and Pete Gill. It marked a new chapter for the band, pushing further into heavier territory while retaining the speed, aggression and raw energy that had defined Motörhead from the beginning.

The album’s production was the subject of much discussion among the band and their fans, but beneath it was a formidable collection of songs. “Orgasmatron”, “Deaf Forever” and “Built For Speed” became key parts of the Motörhead live repertoire, while the album’s combination of hard rock, heavy metal and punk influences gave it a character all of its own. Four decades on, Orgasmatron has taken its place as one of the most distinctive and respected records in the Motörhead catalogue.

Now, 40 years after its original release, Orgasmatron is revisited in a new anniversary edition that explores both the album itself and the story behind its creation. The original studio recordings have been remastered for the anniversary and cut at half speed from the original tapes, while longtime Motörhead collaborator Cameron Webb has created a brand-new remix and remaster from the original stems.

The Motörhead team explain: “Orgasmatron is a special album. Part of that is down to the stylized production of Bill Laswell, who approached the work from a unique perspective. Bill’s work stands in its own right as something special in the Motörhead library, and Orgasmatron stands as one hell of an album. However, there was some controversy in the sense that both Lemmy and Phil Campbell felt that some of the power, bite and energy had been lost in Laswell’s final delivery.

“As old-school Motörhead fans, we found ourselves sitting around the coffee table one night several months ago, drinks in hand, pondering what Orgasmatron would sound like if it were to be remixed by Motörhead’s longtime producer, Cameron Webb. Cameron helmed six studio albums, and it’s fair to say he had the trust, love — and grumbles too! — of Lem, Phil and Mikkey. Would it be ‘right’ to ask him if he wanted a crack at remixing Orgasmatron? Would it be disrespecting the original album if we were to offer such a thing alongside Bill’s original work? We concluded a big fat ‘no’! It would be an added adventure if people wanted to take it. So we asked Cameron if he was up for it. And he screamed a rather enthusiastic ‘yes’!”

For Cameron, the opportunity was particularly personal:

“My brother introduced me to Orgasmatron when I was 14 years old. I heard the song and thought, ‘Is this even music?’ It was like the devil coming through my cassette tape. And I loved it. That record and Rock ’N’ Roll were my Motörhead records, so being asked to work on this is incredibly special to me. I honestly don’t know anyone in the world who would be more excited than me to do it.”

At the same time, Webb was keen to preserve the character of the original recording and acknowledge the work of producer Bill Laswell and engineer Jason Corsaro:

“I love the fact that the original is wild and a little messy. I wanted to be respectful to what Jason Corsaro and Bill Laswell created, rather than simply trying to make it sound like a modern heavy metal record. When we opened up the original 24-track tapes, you could really hear how creative they were with the sounds, particularly the drums. There’s so much character in that recording, and I wanted to preserve that.”

With the original mix in mind, Webb also approached the remix by considering what Lemmy and Phil might have wanted to hear:

“Lemmy and Phil both said they didn’t like the original mix, so I thought about what they might have asked me to do if they were sitting next to me. I tried to channel what I knew about them and their approach to recording — bringing out the bass here, defining the guitars there — while still respecting what was already there. The aim was never to replace the original, but to reveal more of what was inside it.”

The Orgasmatron 40th Anniversary Edition will be available as a deluxe 3LP bookpack and 2CD, featuring the remastered original mix, the Cameron Webb Remix, additional studio rehearsals and outtakes recorded in 1985, and the complete BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show session from 1986, capturing the band during the Orgasmatron era. The 40th anniversary edition is also available as a 1LP pressing on transparent violet vinyl, featuring the original studio album.”

We Came As Romans have debuted a music video for “BORN FROM NOTHING” from their “ALL IS BEAUTIFUL… BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED: CIRCULARITY” release. That effort will be out on November 6.

The band said the following:

“’CIRCULARITY’ isn’t just a deluxe edition with more songs. It’s a bigger version of the album that brings it back to where it started. Each original song was the call, and each collaboration became the response, turning what was a straight line into a loop. We sent these songs out into the world, they connected us with people who have become part of our lives, and they came back to us changed, carrying another voice. The features aren’t guests so much as our circle: the people, places, and influences that were always part of this story, now visible in the tracklist. What you create doesn’t stay yours. It travels, it changes, and it returns different.

The new songs explore the other side of that circle: what we carry forward, what we have to leave behind, and what it costs to keep repeating the past. ‘BORN FROM NOTHING’ sits at the center of that. It’s about being trapped in the same cycles and realizing that constantly moving isn’t the same as moving forward. Sometimes it’s easier to stay in motion than to be still long enough to face your past, your mistakes, or the ways you’ve stood in your own way. The song captures that moment of surrender, when you stop circling who you used to be and ask for the chance to begin again. To me, ‘CIRCULARITY’ completes the cycle while also starting a new one.”

Windwaker have shared an official video for their new song “dna.” That track will appear on their new album, “smile, you’re on camera,” which will be out on October 23. The band said the following:

“‘dna’ explores a deeply internal struggle with identity, self-worth, and the feeling of being trapped by one’s own nature. The song reflects on emotional instability and the pressure of living up to expectations, while battling impulses, ego, and the fear of never truly changing. There’s a recurring tension between wanting growth and feeling stuck in destructive patterns, as if these flaws are hardwired into their ‘DNA.’ Another key theme here which is explored over the album is authenticity. References to ‘doing it for the likes’ and people ‘switching sides’ highlights disillusionment with superficial validation and fake personas, while the protagonist in this song tries to strip away ego and confront their true self.”

King Diamond has announced a new “Halloween” picture disc. The reissue will be out on October 23 and it can be pre-ordered HERE. The frontman offered more information:

“Our three-track ‘Halloween’ picture disc, originally released in 1986, will return worldwide on October 23rd through Metal Blade Records with new artwork by Mario Lopez. The release features ‘Halloween’ and ‘The Candle’ from ‘Fatal Portrait,’ along with ‘The Lake,’ which was recorded during the same era but never included on the original album.”

Sleeping With Sirens have shared an updated version of “I’m Coming Home (Big Gulps).” You can find that reprise of the single below. Vocalist Kellin Quinn said the following:

“’Big Gulps’ was the very first Sleeping With Sirens song ever written, so it’s pretty amazing to see our fans digging through our old content on YouTube and watching it take off on TikTok. That said, the original recording was literally recorded on a MacBook back in 2009. So, I wanted to get back into the studio and properly rerecord a new acoustic version of the song. Thank you for being such incredible fans for so long and we hope you enjoy this new version of ‘Big Gulps.’”

Satanic Planet, who are composed of Justin Pearson (Dead Cross, The Locust, etc.), Dave Lombardo (Dead Cross, ex-Slayer, etc.), Luke Henshaw (Planet B, etc.), and The Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves, have shared an official video for their new song “Church Burning.” That track will appear on the group's new album, “Dead Deities, ” which will be out on October 30. Greaves said the following:

“[In 2022] a man wearing a tshirt with ‘GOD’ printed across the chest set fire to The Satanic Temple headquarters, a legally recognized church, in Salem. This is a song about the hypocrisy of religious violence and how our opposition destroy their own ethical credibility every time they have attacked us with arson, bombs, and violent assaults. We will always rebuild. It is their own church they burn.”

Wednesday 13 has shared footage of “I Walked With A Zombie” from his set at the 2025 Pol’and’Rock Festival in Czaplinek, Poland. That show will be available as a new live album, titled “Un-Alive From Pol’and’Rock 2025,” on September 25. The frontman said the following:

“It all started 21 years ago with my first single, ‘I Walked With A Zombie,’ and it has stood the test of time. This song has become a fan favorite live and always gets the audience singing along to every word. I wrote this song with a live audience in mind so to hear it in front of thousands of people singing it back is such a thrill.”
