Underoath have debuted a new live video for “Breathing In A New Mentality.” The clip was recorded during the 2026 Vans Warped Tour event in Long Beach, CA. Guitarist Tim McTague said the following:

“Playing Warped Tour is nostalgic for all of us to say the least, but Underoath has never phoned anything in and when we thought about how to introduce ourselves to whatever the new warp tour crowd is, we thought breathing in a new mentality was a pretty good statement to kick the night off. It worked.”

La Dispute recently took part in an interview and in-studio performance for Audiotree’s “From Nothing” series. You can watch that episode below. The group have also shared some thoughts regarding the first anniversary of “No One Was Driving The Car”:

“One year now since ‘No One‘ came out, and no further along understanding how to feel or talk about it. The longer we’ve done this, the more convinced I’ve become that songs and albums don’t solely capture the experiences and perspectives contained within but grow along the way, well after release, and so much so over time it’s become clearer and clearer those initial ideas for this record or any other were just that—seeds.

These seeds sunk into earth years ago, then broke the surface of the soil last September and I don’t think stopped growing, at least not for us. To step back periodically and watch new leaves sprout has been, and will continue to be, a phenomenally enriching experience for each of us, on this first anniversary and whenever we find the space to pause and do so going forward.”

156/Silence have debuted a music video for “From A Distance” featuring Alex Reade (Make Them Suffer). The single serves as the title track of the band's newly released album. The group commented:

“Love. Love is the most important thing in the world no matter what. Through all the bad and evil, there will always be more good. Even if it’s from a distance, the love we share is worth more than anything.”

Wage War have premiered a new single titled “Landfall.” That song serves as the title track of their new album, which will be available on October 9. The band said the following:

“‘Landfall‘ is a song about imminent danger and the realization that we aren’t in control. Referencing our Florida roots, the hurricane imagery became a way of talking about that feeling of being completely at the mercy of something bigger than yourself. Musically, we wanted the verses to feel heavy and threatening, with the chorus being somber and inevitable.”

Novelists have shared an official video for their new single “Ravage.” The band said the following about that:

“‘Ravage’ was never meant to play it safe. We kept pushing the track further: Heavier, more melodic, wilder… until a baroque cello somehow felt like the most natural thing in the world. The video came from exactly the same impulse. We had the budget to make life easier and hand the project over to a big production company, but we chose to produce most of it ourselves, to make that budget go as far as possible, and achieve the most ambitious result we could. There’s something very Novelists about doing everything ourselves, even when it makes our lives unnecessarily complicated, simply because we’re obsessed with bringing what’s in our heads to life exactly as we imagine it.”

Emma Ruth Rundle has debuted a music video for “God’s Picture” off her new album “These Killing Times” (out September 18). She said the following about that:

“‘God’s Picture’ is a meditation on the state of the world, particularly climate disaster, global conflict and class. Musically this song feels like a segue from ‘Engine of Hell,’ with its gentle piano and guitar, to ‘These Killing Times,’ with its more lush arrangements and message. This song is also a plea for the demolition of western hegemony. Accompanied by a music video collaboration with many friends and for which I painstakingly constructed the sets for in the winter of 2025/26, ‘God’s Picture’ is the thesis statement at the core of my new album ‘These Killing Times.’ The characters in ‘God’s Picture’ provide a way both to play and lightly explore the power structures and politics and themes of this time.”

The initial lineup has been revealed for the 2027 Fire In The Mountains Festival. The event will be held at the Red Eagle Campground in Blackfeet Nation, MT on July 22-25 and it will feature: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Nevermore, Russian Circles, Stormkeep, Invunche, Rwake, and Buffalo Nichols.

Organizers commented:

“While we are still processing the immense experience that was Fire In The Mountains 2026 at Red Eagle Campground, we are excited to peel back some of what we have been working on for 2027, which has revealed itself as the Year Of The Eagle. We have quite a special edition in the works for this coming year, featuring bands with a legendary command of soundscapes and artistry, to returning fast riffing metal legends, post metal icons, symphonic black metal rippers, musical purveyors of Chilean mythology, American sludge darkness, and blues laden storytelling. We already look forward to joining you once again at the Backbone of The World next Summer— and cannot WAIT to share what else we have in store.”

Nails have inked a new deal with Closed Casket Activities. The band's first release through the label is a new EP titled “Fear Based Life.” That effort includes the title track and “Dollar Bin Generation.” The EP is currently available digitally and will receive a vinyl release on October 9.

Nails commented:

“NAILS has been very fortunate to work with great labels. All throughout the band’s existence, there’s not a bad label that the band have worked with. In fact, they’ve all been great. A look into the backend of Nails, I’ve been working with Justin Louden of Closed Casket Activities since 2011. All NAILS decisions regarding tour decisions, business decisions….all the behind the scenes stuff…. we conferred with him to help with perspective and insight regarding how we made our moves and executed the vision for NAILS. There hasn’t been a more instrumental asset to NAILS than Closed Casket Activities in the past 15 years. Signing a record deal with Closed Casket Activities is the best move for NAILS and we know this is going to serve NAILS the best for the band’s needs. “NAILS put these 2 songs together November/December 2025. Writing them was a true collaborative effort between the 3 of us. The layout and text was completed by our friend Martin Stuart. The Ocean's new lineup, guitarist/vocalist Robin Staps, bassist Mattias Hägerstrand, drummer Jordi Farré, vocalist Enrico Tiberi, vocalist Lane Shi, guitarist Emmanuel Jessua, and guitarist Marco Gennaro, have shared an official video for “Ultima Esperanza, Pt. I.” That track will appear on their new album, “Solaris,” which will be out on September 25. The band said the following:

“‘Ultima Esperanza‘ explores the intrinsically human notion of hope as the driving force behind all explorative endeavours, and loss thereof. It is a reflection on mental resilience, tracing the different stages of losing hope and the mind’s remarkable tendency to keep projecting it even onto the most dire realities, as an instinctive means of survival.”

BABYMETAL will be featured on a limited edition variant cover of the “Marvel Zombies: War Zone” (2026) #1 comic. The book includes art from Phil Noto and is available for pre-order in the U.S. Japanese pre-orders will follow on September 7. A standard version of the comic will hit stores on September 2. The band said the following:

Fake Names (Minor Threat, Refused, etc.) have premiered a new song titled "Until It’s Normal.” That track will appear on their new album, “Punk Ruins,” which will be out on October 23. Guitarist Brian Baker said the following about the record:

“We recorded twelve songs in five days, and all of them are on the album. One of the advantages of us all working at home is there’s plenty of time to figure out what you’re going to do. I know what the guitar solo is going to be because I’ve already done it at home and sent it to Michael [Hampton] to tweak it. It’s not as hard as you think. This album is a collective expression and a lot of the fun is seeing how the hell it is going to turn out.”

Fear Factory have debuted a music video for “Roboticist,” their first single with singer Milo Silvestro. Guitarist Dino Cazares said the following about that track:

“The future isn’t coming. It’s already here, ‘Roboticist’ is the next evolution of Fear Factory. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of Fear Factory.”

Bad Wolves have paid tribute to Dolly Parton with a cover of her hit song “Jolene.” The late country singer originally intended to guest on the single prior to her passing.

Drummer John Boecklin commented:

“Our singer is a big fan of Dolly and has posted a bunch of videos of her covering ‘Jolene.’ So, we decided to make a rock cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished record to Dolly’s manager, Danny Nozell, with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly, and that Dolly loved our version, and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon. We then sent over the stems for Dolly’s studio engineers to work with. Like everyone, we were devastated by last week’s news of Dolly’s passing.

We will honor Dolly’s incredible legacy by donating proceeds from ‘Jolene’ to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We know that we can contribute to Dolly’s vision of giving access to books and improving literacy.”

Danny Nozell, Dolly Parton’s manager, added:

“Dolly was a champion of artists pushing musical boundaries. She listened to the Bad Wolves arrangement of ‘Jolene’ weeks ago, gave it her full blessing, and was incredibly excited to collaborate on it. Releasing this track on Monday as a tribute—with proceeds directly supporting her beloved Imagination Library—is exactly what Dolly and her team wanted.”

Don Burton, husband and manager of the late Dolores O’Riordan, also voiced support for Bad Wolves after seeing how they handled the release of their cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie”:

“When Dolores died, prior to recording with Bad Wolves on ‘Zombie,’ Better Noise Music’s Allen Kovac and Dan Waite reached out say that with our blessing they would like to continue with their plans to release ‘Zombie’, but wanted to donate the proceeds to Dolores’ children.

As a parent, I was touched, and also very surprised when the label and band were true to their word and presented our kids (aged 12, 16, 20, 27 at the time with hundreds of thousands of dollars. A very gracious gesture, which helped with their college costs, and we will always remember the band’s kindness in honouring their pledge and Dolores’ memory.

The similarities here with Dolly Parton loving Bad Wolves version of ‘Jolene’, and sadly passing before recording, is tragic, but once again the Bad Wolves have agreed to donate their proceeds to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and based on the ‘Zombie’ track record, this could provide a lot of books for young children around the world.”

Entheos have shared an official video for their new song “Undone.” That track will appear on the group's new album, “Empty On The Inside,” which will be out on October 23. Vocalist Chaney Crabb said the following:

“‘Undone’ is a dark, visceral song that’s about the confrontation of the guilt that you’ve become the person you always feared you’d be. It’s the grief of realizing that you cannot turn back time and change the things you’ve destroyed. Lyrically, it’s incredibly raw and we feel that musically, it matches the lyrical content perfectly. We’ve wanted to experiment with more of an industrial sound for a long time and writing this song came incredibly naturally to us. Though it may be one that surprises people who listen to our band, it’s one of the most ‘true to ourselves’ songs we’ve ever written. We can’t wait to expand even more in this sonic territory.”

Underoath have debuted a new live video for “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door.” The clip was recorded during the 2026 Vans Warped Tour event in Long Beach, CA. Keyboardist Chris Dudley said the following:

“We were on ‘Warped‘ when ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety‘ came out. This album and this song were born here. Playing ‘Dangerous Business‘ at ‘Warped‘ will always be a highlight for us.”

Clutch have released a new single titled “The Drifter Returns.” A lyric video for the track is available below:

Coldrain have teamed up with Bert McCracken (The Used) for a new song titled “Poison.” That track will appear on the group's new album, “Optimize = Optdemise,” which will be out on September 25. Vocalist Masato said the following:

“‘Poison’ is a song about love and desire—about how something, or someone, you love can become so addictive that it’s easy to lose yourself in it. Trying to find the right dosage of that love—enough to satisfy you without letting it consume you—feels like one of the most human struggles there is. The song also features killer vocals from the one and only Bert McCracken of The Used, one of our all-time favorite singers. His signature voice brings a rawness and emotional intensity to the track that makes ‘Poison’ feel like a timeless emo masterpiece.”
