The views from our room were simply breath taking.

The rooms are spacious, luxurious and cosy!

It’s always nice to see a hotel taking part in conservation. If you’re staying more than a few days, instead of staff washing and changing your linen daily, which you can do, leave this “refresh me” bundle on your bed when you really need linen changed.

While staying at the Cape Grace you have to pop into their gorgeous spa. As you lie and fill in your forms on arrival, sip tea and get up close and personal with the beautiful Table Mountain View.

I experienced the Khalahari Rolling Sands Massage a while ago which is a delightful sensory journey as it is relaxing!

CAPE GRACE DINING:

The Library or Conservatory serves a delicious selection of teas and cakes from 12-6pm. I loved the selection of teas and made sure I didn’t eat lunch before arriving at afternoon tea around 3. I was so glad I hadn’t eaten, as the mouth watering plates of eats had me happily grazing while staring at an incredible view of the Marina and Table Mountain.

If you’ve not got the space or time to leisurely devour plates of treats, you can also grab a slice of cake while enjoying a quick cappuccino.

Sundowner time calls for The Bascule Whisky and Wine Bar, a great place for locals to meet for a drink after work. Now if you’re a whisky drinker, this is a MUST for you! Even if you’re more into bubbles and wine like me, I love the cosy-ness of this bar! On a hot summers day, sit outside on the water’s edge and experience this world class marina and spectacular views.

Bradley who will conduct your whisky tasting was super knowledgeable! We certainly learnt a lot, and Bradley was so good in fact, that he even got me tasting whisky, and I don’t do whisky!

Above, the silver cup that whisky was traditionally drunk from. It was a sign of “friendship” as both hands held the cup, taking ones hand off your sword and blocking your view as you drank. In the background, well … glasses as we do it today

It was really fascinating doing a food pairing bringing out the different salty or sweet flavours of the whisky.

Next, dinner time . . . .

The Signal Restaurant was one of my highlights of our stay. Our waitress Zita made our experienced relaxed and she was just charming. The décor is grand, yet I think the friendly nature of the staff make for a really relaxed atmosphere. No “stuffiness”, airs or graces.

Delicious Pork Belly.

The Signal Restaurant is where you’ll also enjoy your complimentary breakfast. Choose from a continental buffet with a glass of bubbly and/or a hot meal a la carte. I loved the corn fritters with guacamole and crispy bacon! The buffet has a wide selection of cereals, meats, cheeses and breads that’s lavish yet not OTT.

I’d love to go back!
