Meet Miss Mercedes…aka…Sadie! I had so much fun with this girl! It seems like yesterday when I was in high school and felt so confident and beautiful! Umm, yeah, I didn’t feel like that in high school! However, the confidence and beauty was just bounding out of her! She was game for anything I suggested, and was just all around fun to be around! When I found out that she played the guitar, well I was overjoyed to include that in her session! She even serenaded me with a few songs! Yep, she totally rocked it!

Then the other day, I got the sweetest email from her mom. Here it is:

The pictures are beautiful. Thank you! It was so much fun. We also loved working with you. You bring so much talent and you put Sadie at ease. At first, she was not a fan of having her pictures taken. At the end, she couldn’t wait to see the pictures! Thank you again.

Okay, so stuff like this just reaffirms that I have the greatest clients! This is why I love this job and especially love photographing seniors!

Thank you Miss Sadie and I wish you all the best in college and with pursuing a degree in political science!

Meet the Coppage Family! I had a great time chasing these two little boys around! I miss the times when my kids would run around like this! They were all so sweet! This is a great reminder that kids aren’t always perfect little models, but it’s them being themselves that helps to capture those great candid moments!

I have been telling myself and my son for a while now, that I need to photograph him while he is still toothless! Finally got it done!

But there is a problem, when he smiles normally, you can’t actually see his teeth that well! So he gave me this…..

and then this….

and then I found myself thinking…. oh how I love these freckles……

and how I never want to forget these eyes…

or these amazingly long lashes….

So happy that I took 5 minutes, to remember my son and this beautiful stage in his life! Toothless, chapped lips, freckled-faced beautiful boy!

belly laughs/week 2/ a project 52 by evoking you

Well I am attempting this project 52! One photo a week for 52 weeks, with a new theme each week! This weeks them is belly laugh! Well, my little guy has the best belly laugh, but I couldn’t quite get him to laugh. Nothing like holding him down and tickling him to force it! It was quite difficult to tickle him with my foot and hold the camera steady to get a good composition and a clear photo, but I managed alright. I love that it was while he is missing his two top teeth!

Oh, and I’m starting a week late because I was out of town last week !

GORGEOUS! Here is my best friend Adriane and her beautiful family! We almost couldn’t get our crazy busy schedules to match up to get these photos done this year! I’m so glad we did though!

We have been through so much together these past few years, so when Adriane told me this past year that she was moving across town, my heart literally shattered! It has been a huge adjustment for both of us and our families. We went from seeing each other almost daily to not even seeing each other once a week sometimes! No matter how far away she is, though, she will always be super special to me. She knows me like many people do not! She knows that I am super psycho when it comes to certain things. If I tell her that I will be somewhere at 4pm, she knows that I will really be there at 3:45pm. She also knows that if I am running late, which is really “on-time” to the rest of the world, that I am probably in my car speeding and having a panic attack! She knows that I am a very quiet and shy person, which the rest of the world sometimes mistakes for snobbery. She knows that my love for Starbucks goes beyond addiction. She knows that I am a crier…whether happy, mad or frustrated.

I know that she is one of the best mother’s I have ever seen, an amazing wife, an amazing cook, and a great friend. I also know that she doesn’t like to ask people for help, but if you ask her for anything, she is there in an instant. She spent all last fall babysitting for me, while I was building my photography business. She was the one that showed up with a ton of groceries for my family when I was in the hospital. She also listened to my nonstop complaining for almost a year of being sick, without telling me to shut up already! She was there when I found out that my mom had cancer, and she knew exactly what I was going through because she had just gone through it with her dad. She also is the only person on this earth that knows that she could buy me wrinkle cream for my birthday and I wouldn’t be offended!

She always knows what to say, and she will also tell me what I need to hear, even if it’s not what I want to hear. That is a true friend! If it were not for her, I would probably not be blogging here today. She was the one that pushed me to believe in myself. Still to this day, when I am feeling lacking in my ability, she is there lifting me up and pushing me forward. I only hope that I have been half the friend to her that she has been to me. Love you girly!

I LOVE this family! They are seriously so gorgeous and I feel so lucky to have been able to photograph them again! I adore watching the kids grow personally and in front of my lens! Susie is one of my dearest friends and her daughter and mine are equally close! But on another note…Susie you are seriously one of my biggest fans and you give me the self-confidence that is usually lacking in myself. You have been there from the beginning, always pushing me to believe in myself and to strive higher! I love you for that and everything else that you are to me! Caden..my, my how you are growing into such a beautiful, confident young lady! I love watching you “work it” for me! Cassie…sweet Cassie…I loved watching you get more comfortable with me. I loved watching you have more fun with it! Ashton…oh those eyes that I love! Thanks for dealing with my every request! Lance…Thanks for being such a good sport! I love you all!

Meet the Escobedo Family. I met this family earlier this month for the first time at our session. They were so much fun, and I just really felt “at home” with them! Take a look at these two cute kids! Poor Miss K was not feeling that well, but she was such a good sport to brave the heat and have her photos taken! And Mr. R has the biggest smile I have ever seen! Every time he smiled, it made me smile and laugh! It was just so contagious!

Morgan…Senior Session 2012

There is so much I could say about this gorgeous young lady, but words would not suffice! Morgan flew all the way from NEW YORK so that I could be the one to do her senior photos! Seriously, talk about feeling honored to photograph this gorgeous girl!

I like to refer to Morgan, or “Morgie” as my kids have always called her, as my “adoptive daughter”. She holds a special place in my heart and my kids love her to pieces! They always get so excited when they hear she is coming to visit! Morgan…. I am so very happy that we took that very first vacation together! You will forever be a part of my family!

Shoot for the moon, and you will land among the stars! I hope you have an amazing SENIOR YEAR! I love you to pieces!
