Salman Khan does a cameo for Cuban Tourism commercial!

Bollywood stars are known to be endorsing Indian tourism. However, here is one actor who promoted the Cuban Tourism. Well, we are talking about Salman Khan. The actor was in Cuba, shooting for his upcoming flick ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. As per reports, in the midst of the shoot came a filmmaker, asking Sallu if he could pose a few pics for the Cuban Tourism.

The actor, known for his generous nature, immediately posed for the team and also approved the pics on the spot. Apparently, the local director approached Salman as he felt that his global appeal would be a great asset for the project.

Salman Khan readies himself for Dabangg 2

Actor Salman Khan is going to be busy as a bee... The actor is all set to embark on the shooting of Dabangg 2, and with Arbaaz Khan holding the directorial baton this time round, Salman is only going to get more involved in the making of this film.

Salman has returned to Mumbai only recently after finishing shooting for Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. He's all set to play Chulbul Pandey once again, with some hard-hitting action scenes and punchy dialogues.

Sajid Wajid are ready with a few songs for the movie already, and the makers are confident that the music will take this movie to another level altogether. If that isn't enough, Arbaaz, we hear has made some intelligent changes to the script. Though the theme will remain similar to the original, there have been a few characterisation changes: a few new characters come into play in Dabangg 2, while a few characters from the original have been axed out completely.

The crew has decided to go along with the same look of Chulbul Pandey! The rights of Dabangg 2 have been known to have fetched an offer of whopping 140 crores, however, Arbaaz, we hear isn't willing to sell them just yet!

The shooting of Dabangg 2 will begin next month. Sonkashi Sinha is very much a part of this sequel, and an item number seems to be very much on the cards for this masaaledaar flick.

Shahrukh Khan unaware of Yash Chopra's secret

Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture with superstar Shahrukh Khan and his two lovely ladies Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma is still unaware of their film's secret. Yash Chopra is playing mischievous by concealing the film's climax scene to the actors.

This will be the first time Katrina will be paired with Shahrukh and Kats is indeed SRK’s lady love in the movie. The romantic flick also stars Anushka Sharma. But a leading newspaper's report suggest that which of these actresses will finally get SRK is still unknown to all the three stars, except Yash Chopra.

Interestingly, despite Shahrukh insisting the Chopras to reveal the secret, all his efforts went to vain. Rumours suggested that the movie is a remake of the film Daag. Now, we really wonder what surprise Yash Chopra has stored in for us.

She has got the Midas touch say industrywallahs as she’s seen more hits than misses. Something not many of her contemporaries can boast of. For a slow starter, actor Katrina Kaif’s done pretty well for herself and is considered one of the most popular heroines in the country today.

This year, the actress will be seen not just with her good friend Salman Khan on the big screen, but also the other Khans —Aamir and Shah Rukh. A feat that only actor Kareena Kapoor has been able to boast of, of late.

Ask Katrina what it feels like to be working with all the three Khans and she says, “I am very fortunate that I get to work with the best film makers and actors in film industry today… It is also nice to know that my hard work and performances have been appreciated leading to some of the most exciting projects today.”

We prod her further to talk about each of them, and the one thing that she’s learned from the three Khans.

“I have worked with Salman in quite a few films and have learnt a lot from him since the beginning of my career. Aamir is known to be a perfectionist and I am looking forward to working with him in Dhoom 3,” she says. And SRK? “The film with Shah Rukh is also very special as it is not only my first film with him, but also with Mr. Yash Chopra who is the true king of romance. I admire the sheer energy, hard work and passion Shah Rukh puts in his work,” says Kat.

The actor’s song appearances are as much talked about as her flms. The most recent song that apparently had audiences dancing in the aisles of theatres is Chikni Chameli for film Agneepath.

Buzz is, the song apparently eclipsed the film’s leading lady Priyanka Chopra. Ask her about it and she’s quick to add, “I have tried to do my best for all my roles, songs and cameos; and it is nice to get appreciated for your hard work. Every actor has his/her own contribution to the film and if the film works, then it benefits all. So I don’t see any reason for this kind of tension between two professionals as everyone is clear about their parts in a project.”

How does it feel to be called one of the numero uno heroines of the industry? “I don’t believe in numbers,” dismisses Katrina. “I think to bring out the best in your work, you should compete only with yourself. I like the work I am doing whether it is my movies or endorsements. Also, the days of number one spot wars are gone; each actor manages his/her career in a different way,” she adds.

Finally, we ask her if she’s worried about the health issues plaguing her rumoured ex flame Salman, “His health issues are a matter of the past now and he has been perfectly fine for the last few months and is quite fit now,” says Kat who’s shooting with the actor in Cuba for the film Ek Tha Tiger.

It becomes really important when you are releasing a film that you utilize all modes of communication and when you have a company like Microsoft coming along with you, I think 50-60 % of the battle is won!”

He jokingly added: “I take credit for most of the Mumbai Film Industry’s computers! I have introduced them to the technology; and my kids, son and daughter, we actually spend a lot of time and I don’t want to sound that we only play games but the truth of the matter is that yes we only play games!”

Shahrukh Khan to promote West Bengal to attract investors

Bollywood 'baadshah' Shahrukh Khan has been roped in as the brand ambassador of West Bengal to promote the state and attract industrialists to invest here. According to the CM's press adviser, SRK is expected to build 'Brand Bengal' in various sectors including industry, sports, tourism, art and culture.

A positive and vibrant image of the state will be created through a series of campaigns and advertisements fronted by the 46-year-old actor, the sources said. “SRK will be the face of Bengal all over the country and even abroad. He will promote the state to bring in industrialisation and spur all-round growth," CMO sources told PTI today.

By focusing on the uniqueness and rich legacy of the state, services of the 'Don' star will be used to build 'Brand Bengal' in various sectors including industry, sports, tourism, art and culture. "We are discussing things at a preliminary level at present. We will soon come up with a detailed plan," CM's press adviser Rhitobrata Bhattacharya said.

Even though cash-strapped, the state government has been trying hard through a series of initiatives to rope in industrial investment. "West Bengal is my second home," Khan had proudly written to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while accepting her proposal to become brand ambassador of the state recently.

Ever since Shahrukh Khan bought the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008, he has been taking special interest in the metropolis and never misses any opportunity to fly down here. He is already a brand ambassador to a number of Kolkata-based companies like Emami and Concast Group.

During the inaugural function of the 17th Kolkata Film Festival here on November 10 last year, the chief minister had requested the superstar during a tete-e-tete to be the face of West Bengal, to which he had immediately agreed. SRK had addressed Banerjee as 'Didi', who reciprocated with a smile and called him her brother.

The trend of having celebrities as brand ambassadors of states has caught up in the last few years. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has lent his support for the promotion and development of Gujarat, while Aamir Khan is promoting Indian tourism through his 'Incredible India' campaign.

Salman gets too interfering for Kabir Khan?

It seems the actor compelled his director Kabir Khan to re-write an action scene in the film and refused to shoot otherwise...

It looks like Salman is going to be the next Aamir Khan in the industry. After delivering box office hits in last few years, Salman Khan doesn't want to go wrong when it comes to any of his roles in upcoming films.

According to a unit hand from the sets of his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger, the actor doesn't shy away from giving his suggestions and opinions to director Kabir Khan. Very recently, the actor went on to direct an action sequence too.

"There was an action sequence where the actor had to chase villains and beat them up, but Salman suggested that instead him chasing them, villains should run to him and he will beat them up smartly," revealed a unit hand.

Director Kabir Khan tried to convince him otherwise but Salman refused to do the scene. He asked the director to rewrite the scene. Finally the director had no option but to change the action sequence according to Salman.

The scene was shot according to Salman's suggestion and apparently has turned out perfectly. It is believed that everyone including the director loved it. We hope Salman won't get infamous like Aamir among his directors for being one interfering soul.

Salman Khan's friend Zarine turns down item number

Zarine Khan started her career with 'Yuvraaj' opposite Salman Khan and considers the actor as his mentor. Salman launched Zarine and also helped her to understand the ropes in Bollywood.

There were rumours that the two could be more than just friends, but of course like all link-ups in Salman's life this too has faded away. But Zarine still remains faithful to her friend.

Zarine has been wanting to do an item number since she delivered the hit 'Character Dheela Hai'. The actress also got many offers but nothing clicked for her. Finally, she got a good offer in Sanjay Dutt’s 'Zilla Ghaziabad' with a decent remuneration of 30 lacs.

Zarine was very happy with this development until she learnt that the song also has Vivek Oberoi. The actress immediately backed out and gave the reason that by working with Vivek she would upset Salman.

It is understood that this girl would never want to upset her mentor with any wrong moves. When Zarine came to know about Vivek, she got scared and knew that she owed her career to Salman as he has helped her in a big way in entering the industry.

It is well known in the industry that Salman doesn't like Vivek Oberoi. Salman and Vivek got into tiff over his then-girl-friend, Aishwarya Rai and the situation has remained so despite many apology statements conferred by Vivek.

Zarine had this well understood that when Salman is not ready to forgive then how can she ditch her mentor by stepping into the puddle and making things turn ugly for her. Salman still hold grudge against Vivek and Zarine obviously doesn't want to be Salman's next victim.

Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Among Stars Mourning Whitney Houston?

The shock of Whitney Houston's untimely death is being felt as far away as India. Bollywood's top stars, including Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Akshay Kumar took to the microblogging site Twitter to express their grief and surprise at the pop icon's passing.

Shahrukh implored his fans to not dwell on life's inconsequential matters and instead to live life to its fullest: "and v waste so much time on inconsequential aspects of life. criticism..cynicism...voyeuristic.live ur life so u don't miss it.whitney r.i.p"

Priyanka Chopra, who is on her way to Los Angeles where she has been invited to attend tonight's Grammy Awards, mourned Whitney Houston as her inspiration: "LA bound..the Grammys will be sad.. Such a tremendous loss to the world." "Bitter sweet..memories..that is all..I'm taking..with me..so goodbye..pls don't cry"RIP Whitney..u made me believe in magic and dreams."

Other stars were equally grief-stricken. AR Rahman, India's music maestro who is as beloved (and award-winning) in India as Whitney was in the US, paid his respects to the singer: "Another shining star of the music world gone too soon...! We will miss you, Whitney... Respect and prayers for you!"

Akshay Kumar responded poignantly to the singer's death: "The loss of one of the greatest voices of all time!! R.I.P. Whitney Houston. I will always love you." He was one of the millions of fans who honored Whitney with the phrase "I will always love you," the title of her mega-hit ballad from the soundtrack of her film The Bodyguard.

Joining Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, AR Rahman, and Akshay Kumar in expressing their condolances were Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Siddharth, Bipasha Basu, Shreya Ghoshal, and Sunidhi Chauhan (the latter two being among India's most popular playback singers and recording artists).

It's a testament to Whitney Houston's amazing voice and beautiful talent that superstars like Shahrukh Khan, who works in an industry to which Houston had absolutely no connection, are not just mourning her, but doing so publicly and with so much passion.
