Happy [belated] Valentine’s Day <3 I hope the gifts for him and her had you inspired to get out and be creative with your gifts this year.

If you are curious, we bought each other the monogrammed mugs from Anthropologie — but I have my eyes on the jewelry frame. Gotta make it soon.

I’ve been reading so many marriage proposal stories and recaps recently and it makes me think about our story. For long time readers, you might have read about our love story. We aired our dirty laundry with stories on eloping, discussion on love & arranged marriage, post marriage realizations etc.

Hello! I’ve been slacking in this department for quite some time now and there’s no excuse. Well, there’s tons if it involves dirtying my hands, kitchen and dishes over at my foodblog. What can I say? I eat to blog, and sadly my waist is not forgiving me either.

And nope, I don’t intend to emphasize this post about my waist, coz it’s just a waste of your time. And I am hanging onto any shards of dignity left in me. Thankyouverymuch.

What I do intend to show you is how I find inspiration all over the Internet. Yeah, I do take good advantage of Internet, ya know. When I first arrived in the States, it was so surreal. I was new to everything and had to learn the way of lives from scratch. It was totally different from where we hailed.

This was the country where dreams came true — a country filled with opportunities.

The thing that bugs me the most, even till date, is the idea of taking a loan just over the phone. That scares me, too much. I’ll explain.

With a finance background, I had a lot of experience dealing with banks and money market in a very regulated environment. There’s no way a single transaction could escape suspicion or investigation without proper filing with our Central Bank of Malaysia. I won’t bore you further.

Happy Martin Luther King Day :)

So, I’ve finally taken the bullet – figuratively of course. Being ill for far too long really got me thinking of my lifestyle and the changes that I must incorporate soon. I’ve been drinking boat load of fluids, getting way too much sleep (not enough), lethargic and deprived of mom’s cooking nourishment.

Above all, I’ve used this time to seriously ponder over how much time I am spending in blogging etc. It’s a huge commitment, requires a lot of hard work with NO pay whatsoever. But it’s my baby and I love doing what I do — sharing this space with each and every one of you.
