sweet dreams

2010-10-06T00:19:00.008-05:00

This might be my absolute favorite Etsy treasury, EVER! I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat when I first laid eyes on all those minty greens and soft blues. I don't know what it is, but ever since I was teeny tiny I have LOVED soft colors such as these. "Seafoam Green" was the name of my favorite pastel marker...I'd beg my mom to buy the whole pack, just so I could have that one. ;)

Special thanks to Natalie for including The First Day in such a lovely collection! I will most certainly have sweet dreams tonight because of you.

orchard art house - grand opening!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I. love. fall. Fuzzy sweaters, pumpkin spice candles, hot apple cider...the list goes on and on. And what better way to kickstart the season than with a party?

This Saturday, September 25th, marks the grand opening of The Orchard Art House, Erin's labor of love and dream come true. Over the past year she and her husband, Ben, have been working tirelessly to transform what was once a guest house into an adorable cottage/studio/gallery to inspire and house Erin's fabulous work. She is a jewelry designer, fashion maven, singer, songwriter, musician...I'm convinced the girl can do anything!

The grand opening will highlight Erin's stunning jewelry line and also include work from over 15 local artists, live music, an outdoor movie, children's activities, and much more. When Erin contacted me back in February about participating, I couldn't wait...and now it's here!

When: Saturday, September 25th, 3pm - 10pm
Where: 22490 Murray Street, Excelsior, MN

Hope to see you there!

salma's wedding

Back in March I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Salma to create some postcards for her upcoming wedding. She was planning on using the postcards as a guest book, where everyone could write notes to the couple and then "mail" them via a wooden mail box handcrafted by her father. Adorable, right?

The photo above captures the finished product, and hardly scratches the surface of how stunningly creative her wedding turned out. To see the rest of Salma and Zee's wedding, visit the equally fabulous 100 Layer Cake, who did a wonderful feature.

Makes me want to get married all over again...I love it! ;)

"I had daydreams and fantasies when I was growing up. I always wanted to live in a log cabin at the foot of a mountain. I would ride my horse to town and pick up provisions. Then return to the cabin, with a big open fire, a record player and peace." - Linda McCartney

new series!

2010-08-13T09:51:00.006-05:00

(coming soon to my etsy shop)

A couple of weeks ago I had a lovely photo shoot with all of my vintage cameras. It was the first time in a long time that I had been behind the lens solely for creative purposes, and I can't even describe how I felt afterwards. Liberated, energized, alive...all understatements. How on earth have I stayed away for so long?
