I came across some interesting videos showing James White talk through a pro-KJV video given by Kent Hovind. I'm surprised at some of the factual errors and ignorance displayed by Kent Hovind. Many KJV Only advocates or TR Only advocates would be alarmed too. So, while you may not agree with James White's answers, he does at least have evidence and facts to support his claims.

Check out the videos here.

So How Do We Respond to New Manuscript Finds?

Recently, several new manuscripts were found at the national archive in Albania. Anywhere from 17 to 34 manuscripts were unearthed that were previously unknown to Western scholars.

The discovery was made by the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) whose mission is to preserve all the New Testament manuscripts by means of high resolution digital pictures. Christianity Today (CT), interviews Dan Wallace, the director of CSNTM, about the discorery here.

At the conclusion of the interview CT links to a helpful article by J.I. Packer. The article answers this question: "How can I reconcile my belief in the inerrancy of Scripture with
comments in Bible translations that state that a particular verse is
not 'in better manuscripts'?"

For my part, I think Packer's answer is helpful. What do you think?

Reader Interaction Welcomed

Hey everybody. I recently redesigned and moved this site, and now I can offer some great user-driven functionality.

I've added a contact form on the Questions and Feedback page. And I have also added a site discussion forums. You can now post questions or comments on the debate in several different forums and topics. If you have a specific question regarding a verse (i.e. Does anyone have the manuscript support for this KJV reading? or I think this verse is a clear error/mistake in this particular version) you can post it. If you have a question or claim about something else, you can share it.

It's up to you. You can use the site and discuss, and create a forum of searching minds. Or you can ignore that feature until an urgent question comes to mind.

I'd love more interaction, and so I hope these tools help facilitate that.

Testimonies from Former KJV Only Advocates

I recently stumbled across a list of "Noteworthy KJVO Conversion Stories". The list was compiled by Phil (aka Readmore) of Phil's Mind Map (which seems to morph everytime I visit it lately!). He included my story in his list of interesting stories.

I took the time to read through all of them (I had read Fred Butler's story before) and I recommend them to you. Not all of them conclude as I do. A few of them still are very King James Preferred. Still the reasoning and thoughts provided are worth consideration. Many highlight specific books which proved helpful to them.

As for Phil, he is also a former KJV-Only, but he maintains a high level of respect for the position, and still attends a KJV Only IFB church, if I have it right.

Check out some of Phil's thoughts on the subject as well. (Note to self: take the time to add a testimonial section on this site, and list these and other personal stories with regard to this issue.)

I'll close by encouraging you to go to Phil's post where he compiles the list of 10 (working) links.

Welcome to My New KJV Blog (& Site)

Howdy, folks!

This site (The King James Only Research Center), has been around for a while. It started in the spring of 2006 as a Blogger blog. Then, when I migrated my main blog (Fundamentally Reformed) to Wordpress.com, I eventually migrated this site as well.

With Wordpress, I modified the site and turned it into more of a user-friendly collection of pages. But the blogging software hindered what I could do.

Recently, I tried moving it to Google Pages, but then I found freewebs. And FreeWebs beats Google Pages, hands down. I am so excited about the new site, and the design that I pieced together from a few HTML editors on my own.

I love the fact that a blog integrates with the site. So with new features and a cleaner, sharper design, I hope to attract more traffic, and to finally get around to finishing some of the content-related work that needs doing with this site.

Drop me a note, if you want. I hope you enjoy the new blog.
