Simply use android splits screen while verification... Class 0 msg will be shown in another screen so it verification will be done without any problem.. I do this everytime after changing rom..

u can activate split screen by going to recent app screen then press and hold on messaging icon on top, press on split, thanks me later.

Another Solution is to temporary Change Network mode to 2G only till Your Verification Completes...

The G2 Android smartphone from LG is just unveiled at an event, and this one is the company’s flagship device with a screen size of 5.2 inch, having a Full HD 1080p resolution. Moving away from the Optimus line, LG has removed the word and thus the “LG G2″ name is what is given for it. The smartphone is coming to 130 carriers around the world, and the timing for its launch comes quite right, to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the upcoming iPhone from Apple.

The entire smartness comes from the buttons, which are shifted from the sides to the back, as you would have the options to lock, power on/off and toggle the volumes all from the rear side below the camera. This would be the best for its one-handed operation in the easiest way. Internally, the G2 is pretty much powered with the Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, 2GB of RAM and the battery included inside the device is 3000 mAh.

As of now we got to know that the device might be coming in two variants, one with the 16GB and the other 32GB version. A different graphics RAM is integrated within the display, which the company says will reduce the energy usage by the screen. The camera’s position is not much disturbed, lying on the top center part, with the 13-megapixel lens with the Optical image stabilization, and the flash lies just beside it.

The successor to the Optimus G smartphone is in a round of rumors right now, with the South Korean electronics company LG planning to launch the Optimus G2 somewhere around in May 2013. The first gen Optimus G has been in talks always for having a limited availability, and not being shipped globally but LG has kept ignoring that and might have some other plans for the next generation of the phone which is expected to have some big upgrades and entering the 5-inch category where some beasts are competing each other (includes the HTC Droid DNA, J Butterfly,Oppo Find 5 etc.).

The actual scheduled launch of a major device from LG is somewhere in the second half of next year, but the company is rescheduling it and would launch it in the second quarter, in order to compete with the Galaxy S4 which might launch by that time, from the fierce competitor in the Android market, Samsung. Some stunning upgrades include the one in the screen and processor, with the 4.7-inch screen of Optimus G being upgraded to 5-inch with a Full HD display.

From the rumors, it has been learned that the processor could be a 2GHz quad-core Qualcomm CPU one, while it was already a quad-core processor in the Optimus G too having a speed of 1.5GHz. The shocker though is that there could be the Android Key Lime Pie operating system coming loaded in the G2, which one wouldn’t be able to confirm because its not a long time since the Android Jelly Bean and its next JB version 4.1 have been launched, and Google might be taking some time to come up with the next version, either the 4.3 or 5.0.

Apart from the devices which we mentioned above, Sony too has been working on the “Yuga” with the big display, and Samsung could be launching one of the devices with a 5-inch HD display pretty soon. Looking at the list being built quite fast, the normal standards in the coming days would be a 5-inch screens with the 1080p HD displays.
LG, just like Samsung could have an upper hand in launching the flagship devices with the new OS versions, because the company even launched the LG Nexus 4 phone with the Android 4.1 version, being the first phone in the market with that OS version.

Whatever the reasons could be, but if LG managed to launch the device somewhere around the launch of the successor of the Galaxy S3, we would see a good competition in the high-end devices market. We’d update you as soon as something interesting comes up from the manufacturers or the sources.

* Recently I came across a very useful tip. I was surprised to know it but had a doubt so I talked to one of the pump technicians and he too accepted it as a fact. I think apart from providing space for the gas generated inside the petrol tank this is yet another reason why we shouldn't fill the tank to the brim. Many of us are not aware that the petrol kiosk pump has a return pipe-line (in Pink). When the petrol tank (in the car) reaches full level, there is a mechanism to trigger off the pump latch and at the same time a return-valve is opened (at the top of the pump station) to allow excess petrol to flow back into the pump. But the return petrol has already pass through the meter, meaning you are donating the petrol back to the Oil Dealer.

* Also only fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the petrol, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your liter is not exactly a liter. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.

* A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

* When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

* One of the most important tips is to fill up when your Petrol tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more Petrol you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. petrol storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the Petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

* Another reminder, if there is a petrol truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy Petrol, DO NOT fill up; most likely the petrol is being stirred up as the Petrol is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

* To have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Petrol buyers. It's really simple to do.

* I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over Three MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

First Firefox OS phones now shipping worldwide

GeeksPhone, the Spanish manufacturer that's making the first Firefox OS phones for developers, has started accepting orders for its two phones, Keon and Peak. The company is shipping the phones, worldwide.

While Keon is available at a price of $119, the Peak smartphone has been priced at $194. At the time of writing this post, the phones are no longer in stock. We're not sure if the company plans to replenish stocks in the coming days but this indicates that there's a good developer interest in Mozilla's Firefox Mobile OS as it took only a few hours for the stocks to finish.

The Keon is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1Ghz processor, has 512MB RAM and features 4GB of internal memory. It features a 4.3-inch qHD IPS screen, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

The Peak is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and sports a 4.3-inch qHD IPS screen. It also features an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

The phones were first unveiled in January.

It's worth pointing out that these phones are targeted at developers who are working on apps for the Firefox OS and might not offer full functionality as Firefox OS is still evolving. The consumer devices running Firefox OS are expected to launch by summer in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela. Mozilla plans to reach 11 more markets by the end of the year, and the US in 2014.

Mozilla had first previewed the Firefox Mobile OS in February during the Mobile World Congress. With Firefox OS, the foundation aims to offer entry-level devices and plans to bring mobile web content directly to users with web apps. Phone makers that plan to make Firefox phones include Huawei and ZTE of China, LG of Korea and Sony. All the phones will run on chips supplied by Qualcomm.

Facebook releases 'home' software for Android phones

Facebook is releasing software that puts feeds from the social network on the home screen of Android phones.

The software will act like a "wrapper" for the Android operating system and become the main way to use a phone.
Notifications, images and messages will appear on the main screen of the phone instead of being accessible via a downloadable app.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said the change would put people, not apps, at the heart of the mobile experience.
Handset home
In a presentation given at Facebook's campus, Mr Zuckerberg said phone apps were a legacy of the computer world in which people clicked on an icon to start a program.
While this worked well with desktops and laptops, it made less sense with phones, he said.
"Now there's a new use case that's more and more important," he said. "We have our phones with us all the time and we want to know more what's happening to our friends."

Facebook's Home software will hide apps and instead pipe all the content and chat carried on via the social network to the home screen.

The software "wrapper" will also change the way that people swap messages or content by letting them respond by tapping on pop-up images, known as chat heads, rather than opening up apps and navigating through menus.
The software will be available via Google's Play Store as a download and will work only with phones running Android 4.0 or higher. Facebook home will be available from 12 April on six phones - three from HTC and three from Samsung. Only four of these handsets are available now. The others are set to launch alongside Facebook home.
No information was given about whether home would be re-developed to work with Apple or Microsoft phones.
Facebook said users could try the software rather than have to commit to use it all the time. Initially, the code will only be available for phones but a version for tablets is under development.
Cory Ondrejka, Facebook's head of engineering, said the company started its push to make everything it did centre on mobiles in early 2012. Figures from Facebook suggest that users spend about 25% of their time on their handsets looking at their feeds and chatting with friends.
Facebook's fourth quarter earnings revealed that about 23% of the money it made from advertising came from adverts shown to mobile users.

The home software will swap apps for a people-centred system, said Facebook

Prior to the news conference, many people speculated that Facebook would announce a branded handset. Mr Zuckerberg said the firm shied away from doing this because even the best selling phones would only reach a small percentage of its user base.
"This can start to be a change in the relationship that we have with how we use these computing devices," he said.
Jan Dawson, senior telecoms analyst at Ovum, said: "To Facebook, this is about becoming more deeply embedded in the operating system on mobile devices, and creating a broader platform.
"Since Facebook doesn't make an operating system for mobile devices, this is the next best thing," he said.
Mr Dawson added that the change would let Facebook track more of a user's behaviour on devices and to serve up ads.
"That presents the biggest obstacle to success for this experiment: Facebook's objectives and users' are once again in conflict," he said. "Users don't want more advertising or tracking, and Facebook wants to do more of both."

Bring back the classic start menu. Another common complaint about Windows 8 is the lack of the old and trustworthy Start menu button on the desktop. Fortunately there are a handful of replacements available from third-parties, including the open source Classic Shell, Stardock’s Start8, and Pokki.

Simplify search. Windows search isn't perfect. Some of us would argue it's been getting worse. Although you can't do much about this you can make results less cluttered by excluding some apps you don’t intend to use. Go to Win + I > Change PC Settings > Search to manage the search list.

Restart Explorer. If Explorer locks up for some reason, there’s no need to close the process any more. Just hit press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager, select Explorer in the list, and click Restart on the bottom-right corner of the window (or through the right-click contextual menu).

Hot corners

The Start menu is no longer there, but there's a hot corner that makes up for it (unfortunately on multiple screens it's somewhat of a pain to use).

Win + D Standard Windows desktop. Also minimizes/restores all open windows in desktop mode.
Win + Q Shows all installed apps.
Win + W Instant search for settings.

Win + I Settings sidebar (control panel, network, volume, brightness, notifications, and more).
Win + P Shows multi-monitor options, also useful for connecting an external monitor or projector.

Win + . (period) Snaps the current Metro app to the right side of the screen. Do it twice and it will snap to the left.

Obviously fans of Apple’s iOS use the iPhone and iPad devices, whereas Android lovers have a wide range of hardware to choose from due to the fact that the OS is available to multiple manufacturers.

But what happens if you are a die hard fan of iOS, or Windows Phone but you still want to sample the delights that Android Ice Cream Sandwich has to offer? I personally am an iPhone user for the last five years and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. But after recently getting my first taste of Android, I am severely tempted to shell out for a second device so I can have the benefits that both provide. For those that can’t, or won’t, purchase a second device then why not run Android 4.0 in virtualization on your desktop or laptop in order to see the Ice Cream Sandwich experience first hand?

Android 4.0 is an operating system in its own right, but instead of running on a dual boot setup, we install and run ICS within a free of charge virtualization application known as VirtualBox. VirtualBox runs like any other application or program on your machine, but offers the benefits of being able to install a secondary OS within it which can be invoked quickly by the user. For all those die hard iOS and Windows Phone fans out there, this is a perfect way to experience the delights of Android.

<1> VIRTUAL BOX OR VMPLAYER

The Very First And Very Safe Way to test android to our pc is by doing process of virtualisation..

There are many software available to do this, so find one which you like. here i m using VIRTUAL-BOX.

You can get VirtualBox here. VirtualBox is available for Windows, OS X, Linux, and Solaris.
Download the Android x86 iso image file. Choose the one which is compatible to your system. In my case, I choose android-x86-4.0-asus_laptop-20111209.iso because I'm using Asus laptop. If there is none for your system, you may choose the one which is closest to your system. For example: HP netbook can use the iso for ASUS Eee PC family. Drawback is it might not fully compatible such as wireless card might not supported but all in all your system still able to run the Android.
After downloaded, open VirtualBox and created a new virtual machine name it any name you like, select Linux as Operating System, and Other Linux as version. I allocated 512MB for Base Memory, 8GB Fixed-size storage in a vdi file.
Before installation, make sure your parameters are set as below:

Click Settings of the virtual machine, select Storage. Click Add CD/DVD Device icon next to IDE Controller to mount the downloaded iso. Then click OK.

Make sure VirtualBox will boot CD rom first.

Click Start, and hit Installation - Install Android-x86 to harddisk. (You may choose Live CD - Run Android-x86 without installation, it direct enters Android OS but all save changes you made in Android will lost after rebooted the system because it is for Live Demo purpose)

In Partitioning Tool, select Create/Modify partitions.

Highlight the Free Space, and use arrow keys to select New, select Primary, use all partition size for sda1 (or your preferred size). For your information, 1GB equals 1024MB.
Select Beginning, select Bootable, select Write, and type yes to comfirm. After that, select Quit.
Now you're back to the Partitioning Tool with a new option, select sda1 and choose OK.

Format sda1 as ext3 and OK to format the partition.

Select Yes to install boot loader GRUB.
Select Yes to install /system directory as read-write. The installation will begin.
After the installation completed, select Create a fake SD card. Creating a fake SD card will enables you to launch Gallery, Music Player, etc in Android. Set the fake SD card size as many your want but maximum value is 2047MB.

Finally, the fake SD card has created. Before reboot, remember that you still have an Android installation iso image loaded as virtual boot CD-rom. So you have to click Settings of your virtual machine in VirtualBox, select Storage to remove the Android iso image file. Or, simply uncheck the CD/DVD-ROM box and make boot Hard Disk first.

Now select Reboot.
After reboot, GRUB loader screen will appear. Choose Android-x86 2011-12-09.

Voila, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running on you computer. One more thing, click Machine to Disable Mouse Integration which should be already as default. Click any part in Android screen to allow it capture your mouse pointer. To regain mouse control outside virtual Android, simply press right ctrl.

Enjoy the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Create a Virtual Machine

In VirtualBox, create a new machine for Android.

Machine Name: "Android ICS" (you can name it anything you want)
Machine Type: "Linux 2.6"
Memory: I gave my VM 1024MB of memory.
Hard Disk: I created a new 16GB VDI image that dynamically expands.

All the default settings worked fine for me. Here's what the defaults were on my system:

Networking:
- Type: NAT
- Adaptor: "Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)"
Audio: Intel AC'97
Storage Layout:
- IDE Controller:
  - CD Device
- SATA Controller:
  - Hard Disk

Installation

Make sure the VM boots from the ISO image.

On the boot screen, select "Installation - Install Android-x86 to harddisk"
Choose "Create/Modify Partitions". This takes you into cfdisk.
1. Choose "[New]"
2. Choose "[Primary]"
3. Press enter to accept the default partition size (mine was 17174.38)
4. Choose "[Bootable]"
5. Choose "[Write]"
6. Type "yes" to confirm writing.
7. Choose "[Quit]"
Choose to install on the sda1 device (Linux VBOX HARDDISK)
Choose to format the drive "ext3"
Pick "Yes" to confirm formatting.
Pick "Yes" when it asks to install the GRUB bootloader.
Pick "Yes" when it asks to mount /system as read-write (this will be important later to install the Google apps).
Create a fake SD card when it prompts. I made mine 2047MB (the maximum allowed).
Choose "<Reboot>"

Make sure you detach the ISO image from the virtual machine so that it will boot into the installed OS. If you see the "Installation" option again, it means you're booting from the ISO still!

Tips for Running Android

You'll want to disable mouse integration to be able to interact with the GUI at all. This can be done from choosing the "Machine" menu in the VM window and clicking "Disable Mouse Integration" -- or pressing HostKey+I. The Escape key on your keyboard corresponds to the Back key in Android. The context menu key on your keyboard corresponds to the Menu button in Android (the context menu key is usually next to the right Windows key).
To power off the VM, press HostKey+H. This will cause Android to pop up the shutdown dialog that you'd expect on a real phone. You can also use the "Machine->Send Shutdown Signal" to do the same.

Install the Google Apps

You may notice that this Android VM doesn't include the Android Market, GMail, or Google Maps. These are some of the Google Apps and due to some licensing restrictions Android-x86 doesn't include them "out of the box". On a real Android device that's been rooted and flashed with a custom ROM, you'd install the Google apps by flashing them in recovery mode. But you can't get into recovery mode on VirtualBox. Thus, the method for installing the Google Apps is kinda sketchy, but it works (and if you know of a better way, feel free to tell me).
You'll need a file with a name like "gapps-ics-20120304-signed.zip". These are the Google apps (the date part might be different). You can Google them, but I have a copy of them here to download too.
You don't really need the entire Google Apps file, actually. Just the "system" folder inside the zip file. Create a new tar file of the "system" folder so that it will be easy to get it into your Android device. I have a prepared "system.tar.gz" for you if you just want to use mine.

The steps to install the Google Apps are as follows:

Download system.tar.gz to your Android VM somehow. I used the Web Browser app and downloaded it there. You could probably also use the Email app, or if you're really Android savvy, push it with the Android Debugger.
- If Android tells you that there is no SD card so it can't download the Google Apps, that's because you skipped that step while first installing your Android system. The very last step of the installer asks if you'd like to create a virtual SD card partition, and you should've had it do that. If you didn't, the only easy solution I know of is to reinstall the OS.
Open the "Terminal Emulator" app in Android.
Enter these commands (note: don't type the $ or # symbols at the beginning of these lines. These symbols indicate the prompt.)

$ cd /sdcard/Download
$ tar -xzvf system.tar.gz
$ su
# cd /sdcard/Download
# cp -rf system/* /system/
```
Pay special attention to the cp -rf command. Make sure the slashes and *'s are in the right places.
Reboot the phone.

You should now see the Market app, GMail and the others in your app menu. Note: in my experience, the Market app will be somewhat unstable. When you start the app, it will Force Quit after 10 or 15 seconds. However, if you're fast enough you should be able to quickly search for a specific app you'd like and begin the download process before Market crashes, and the app will continue to download and install regardless.
I imagine that the unorthodox way of installing the Google Apps might be partly to blame for the Market being unstable. The other Google apps seem to work fine though.

Custom Screen Resolutions

This is a tip I discovered somewhere a while back for getting custom resolutions to work in your Android VM (for example, to mimic the screen dimensions of the Galaxy Nexus phone, or just to run the VM at a higher resolution like 1024x768). I've found that you can use just about any arbitrary resolution you want, but when the resolution isn't a standard 4:3 one (like 1024x768), the VM seems to get somewhat laggy. The general steps are as follows. Substitute 1024x768 with whatever resolution you want. You can add multiple video modes by changing "CustomVideoMode1" to be "CustomVideoMode2", etc.

In your Terminal or Command Prompt window on the host system, run this command:
VBoxManage setextradata "Android ICS" "CustomVideoMode1" "1024x768x32"
Substitute "Android ICS" with the name of your VM (but keep the quotes).
Start your Android VM, and when you see the bootloader screen:
1. Press the "e" key to edit the boot arguments
2. Press "e" again to edit the kernel boot line
3. Add UVESA_MODE=1024x768 to the end of the boot arguments (make sure to hit Space first), and press Enter.
4. Press "b" to boot.

There should theoretically be a way to edit the GRUB config file and add more boot options that have the custom resolutions already configured, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.

No Warranty

Android is primarily an ARM architecture operating system and the x86 version isn't supported by Google. While a lot of apps will work in Android-x86, some may crash in weird ways. If you're an Android developer though, this can be pretty useful because Android-x86 will run a lot faster on your hardware than the standard emulator from the SDK does, so you can test your apps much more rapidly (the Android-x86 site has some documentation on how to connect ADB to your virtual machine). Your mileage may vary.

Updates

To answer common questions that come up in the comments...

Adobe Flash, Netflix, others... -- these apps won't work in Android-x86, because they aren't pure Java. They include C code that's compiled for the ARM processor found in most Android devices. They won't run on x86 processors.
Apps that rotate your screen... -- apps that force the orientation into portrait mode (thus turning your screen sideways) can be dealt with by changing your VM's screen resolution to be taller than it is wide (i.e. 800x1280). The app will recognize the portrait resolution and not rotate. However, your VM may be laggy when it's not in a standard 4:3 resolution. Alternatively, find an app that forces/locks your orientation to one direction or another -- however, some apps misbehave when forced to use the wrong resolution and may not be usable.
Don't expect a lot of apps to work -- for various reasons, apps that work on real Android devices may not function properly on Android-x86.
Text messaging and phone calls won't work -- Your virtual machine is not a phone. It doesn't have a cellular connection to AT&T or Verizon or anybody. The standard texting apps like Messaging and Handcent SMS are useless on an Android VM (this also goes for most Android tablets that don't have cell connections). If you want to text from your VM, you might try using the Tablet Talk app, connect it with your actual cell phone, and text through that app. If you want to make phone calls, you might have luck with a Voice over IP app -- however, I can't guarantee your microphone and such will work with the VM, as I haven't tested it.

<2> INSTALL ANDROID ON USB

Things need to prepare for installation:
UNetbootin, Android-x86 4.0, 2 thumb drives (1 as bootable Live USB drive, another 1 for Android installation).

Let's get it started:

Download UNetbootin.
Download Android-x86 4.0 ISO file.
Insert a thumb drive into USB port.
Open UNetbootin, choose Diskimage, select the Android-x86 ISO file, and select your target USB drive.

Click OK. Then UNetbootin will create your thumb drive to a bootable Live USB.

After UNetbootin is done, insert another thumb drive (or SD card/external hard drive if you wish to install it there)
Click Reboot Now to restart computer.

While starting computer, press appropriate keyboard button (Mine is F2 but may vary depending on laptop manufacturer) to get to BIOS boot menu and select USB drives to boot first before HDD or CD/DVD rom. Save and Exit.
Your computer will restart again and boot your Android x86 thumb drive. Select Install Android-x86 to harddisk.
When you in Choose Partition page, select your target thumb drive (usually in sdc1) to install.
Format your thumb drive as FAT32.
Select Yes to install boot loader GRUB.
Select Yes to install /system directory as read-write.
If asked you to create user data image, make it 512MB (you can customize the value if you want).
After the installation completed, choose Create a fake SD card. Creating a fake SD card enables extra features in Android such as Gallery, Music Player, etc. I make it 2047MB, you can lower the value if you want.
When it is done, remove your bootable Live USB thumb drive and hit Reboot and enter BIOS boot menu again and make sure the Android thumb drive is in first boot order.
You have done it! The Android x86 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is installed in your thumb drive and ready to rock!

<3> INSTALL ANDROID ON YOUR HDD USING LIVE CD

Burn the iso image to cdrom, or create a bootable USB disk (recommended). See the Advanced section for details.

Boot from the Android-x86 installation CD/USB, choose the 'Install Android to harddisk' item, as show below

After seconds of booting, you will see a partition selection dialog. You can choose an existing partition to install Android-x86, or you can create or modify partitions by choosing 'Create/Modify partitions'. Note you can install Android-x86 to an external disk like USB drive. If the target drive is not shown, try 'Detect devices'.

Android-x86 can co-exist with other operating system or data in the chosen partition. If the partition is formatted, you may choose 'Do not format' to keep existing data. Otherwise, choose a filesystem type to format. Note the type you chosen must match the partition id, or the boot loader will fail to boot.

Also note if you choose to format to fat32, you will see a warning that android cannot save data to fat32. You can still proceed to install, but the installed android system will work like a live cd system. That is, all data will lose after power off. Therefore we do not recommend to install Android-x86 to a fat32 partition.

Next question is whether to install boot loader Grub. Usually you should answer yes, unless you want to install boot loader by hand yourself. Note the installer only creates boot items for Android-x86. If you hope to boot other operating systems, you need to add the item to `/grub/menu.lst` manually. See the Advanced section for how to do this.

If you are lucky, the installation will begin, and you will see the progress bar.

If you see this screen, the installation is complete. Congratulations! Now you can run Andrond-x86 directly, or you can reboot and run it.

Multi-boot

To boot other operating systems, you have to add items for them to /grub/menu.lst. For example, to boot Windows, add the following:

title Windows
    rootnoverify (hd0,0)
    chainloader +1

This assumes the Windows is installed to the first partition of the first hard disk. Or you need to change rootnoverify to the appropriate value. See Grub manual for details.
Updated (2010-10): Since froyo-x86, if there is an NTFS partition in the installed disk, the installer will ask if you want to create a boot item for Windows, as show below

You have to change your virtual disk type to be IDE because the default type in VMware is SCSI, and Android-x86 kernel is not configured to support SCSI. You can follow these steps:

Create a virtual machine.

Edit virtual machine settings after the virtual machine created.

Choose the hard disk and remove it.

Add a hard disk to create a new virtual disk, then you can choose IDE as your virtual disk type.

When finished, you can install android-x86 normally.

If you can download and install a Windows program, you can have an Android 2.1-update 1 virtual machine running on your desktop in just a few minutes. All without ever touching the SDK or Sun's JDK. As a bonus, the Window it runs in has a really easy method of installing third party apps from free Android applications stores, as well as apps downloaded to your PC.

It's not without its flaws, and there are no Google applications of course (yet), but it's just as easy to uninstall if it's not for you. Grab the program from the source link, and hit the break for an installation and quick breakdown video to get you started.

Run Android in Windows like it was any other application

WindowsAndroid is a very cool tool from the Beijing-based startup SocketeQ that lets you run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) as a native application on your on Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 machine. The creators tell us they have a deep background in virtualization, operating system, and graphics technologies, and have been working on the project for years.
Essentially, WindowsAndroid allows you not only to execute Android apps on your Windows computer, but also use the browser, not to mention every other component of the operating system. In other words, this goes above and beyond BlueStacks, a Silicon Valley company that enables Android apps to run on PCs and Macs.

To get an early release of WindowsAndroid, you first have to fill out the download form (make sure to provide a valid email address) and grab the hefty 64.8MB installer via the download link you receive in your inbox. WindowsAndroid takes up about 300MB and comes with a cute Android robot icon. Firing it up presents you with a command prompt that loads all the components and then this familiar screen:

The whole process of signing up, downloading, and installing should take you less than 15 minutes. If you don’t have a touchscreen, you can use your mouse to navigate the interface. The first thing I did was fire up the browser, used my keyboard to type in “thenextweb.com,” and hit enter. Not all the images loaded, but you get the idea:

At this point I got curious about how all this was working. A quick look at the basic documentation (PDF) showed me this was an ongoing project with the goal of porting Android completely over to Windows, leveraging the Dalvik virtual machine to run Android apps. The other goal is to obtain high performance thanks to the Windows operating system and PC components, including hardware acceleration and media codecs.
Here’s the official feature list, typos and all:

What this list doesn’t mention is that you can side-load apps by placing APK files in the windowsandroid_root\data\app directory and then restarting WindowsAndroid. This app is naturally still a work in progress, but I would imagine that the developers will figure out a way to get the Google Play Store working properly in the application (right now there are incompatibility issues given that Google doesn’t recognize the hardware in question).
The developers tell TNW the project began in 2010 “as something fun” with the porting of Android 2.1 (Éclair) and then later Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), mainly to test “the feasibility of our strategy.” It wasn’t only until last year that they made the effort to port Android 4.0.3. They used their old porting codebase and performed multiple rewrites with three main goals: full support of an original Android version, as efficient as possible, and easy to synchronize with Google’s canonical codebase (for future releases).
Speaking of the future, SocketeQ tells TNW that the software “is still in early development status” and that the startup is working on “integrating more features like full app running support, media playback and whole OpenGL ES emulation based on Desktop OpenGL.” Again, this is just an experiment right now. Expect major bugs and crashes. Still, it’s a very ambitious project, and one that we’ll be keeping a close eye on.

Smart keywords are an easy way to search specific websites directly from the Firefox Location bar. Instead of going to the targeted website, finding the search function, and executing the search, you can search the website using Firefox, while you are at any website.
For example, suppose you search The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) on a regular basis. You can define a smart keyword to enable searching IMDB through your browser. To search IMDB for information on William Shatner, you would enter the following in the Firefox Location bar:

To create a smart keyword:

Visit the page on the target website that has the search field that you would normally use to search the site.
Right-click on the search field. Select Add a Keyword for this Search....

3. The Add Bookmark dialog appears. Enter an appropriate name for the bookmark (e.g. "The Internet Movie Database"). Create a keyword (e.g. "imdb").

Select the bookmark folder to contain the smart keyword. Click OK.

How to turn your Windows 8 PC into a Wi-Fi hot spot

In Windows 8, Microsoft quietly removed a useful networking feature: ad-hoc networks.
In Windows 7 (and previous OSes), the tool could turn your PC into a Wi-Fi hot spot, allowing it to share its Ethernet or other Internet connection with other devices by broadcasting its own network.
So, if you paid for Internet access at a cafe, or you're at work, and want to share your PC's Internet with your phone or tablet, this feature would let you do that.

It is very possible to do this in Windows 8, but the built-in method requires fiddling with the command prompt. And for some of us, walking into that black abyss is daunting.
Instead, check out Virtual Router Plus. It's a free, open-source program that does the geek work for you, allowing you to quickly fire up an ad-hoc network whenever you need one.

Once you've downloaded the file, extract it, and launch the VirtualRouterPlus file within that folder. There's no real installation here -- the program will simply launch.
At this point, setup is easy. Enter a name for your network, then choose a secure password with at least eight characters. Finally, choose the connection you want to share (there will most likely only be one choice), and click Start.
To test it out, grab your phone or tablet and connect to your newly created Wi-Fi network. If it doesn't show up, stop the connection on your computer, and hit Start again.
Also remember that your computer needs to stay awake and running to keep its ad-hoc network alive. So, tweak your power settings if need be.

How to Change the Start Screen Background in Windows 8

Windows 8’s new Start screen has been hotly debated since the operating system launched in preview mode earlier this year. Acknowledged by some as a bold step into the tablet market, and criticized by many others who prefer the familiar desktop experience, the new 'Modern UI Style' home is here to stay. But beyond not offering a way to bypass this screen (not without the help of third-party utilities), surprisingly Microsoft is also limiting your options when it comes to customizing the Start screen's appearance. You can choose from a couple color schemes and 10 stock background images, but that's about it.

We've seen some workarounds before but they require firing up the HEX editor to modify system files, and you are still limited to 256-color background images in a handful of specific sizes. That’s more work than most people are probably willing to bother with and as you can imagine the results are not quite optimal.
Enter Decor8. Stardock’s latest Windows 8 customization app removes this limitation by giving users the ability to pick any picture they want, regardless of size or color range, as the Start screen background.

The program is pretty straightforward to use. Upon launching Decor8, you’ll be presented with a set of background images to choose from, including the start screen and desktop background images that Windows 8 ships with and also a set of wallpapers that Stardock ships with the app. You get the usual fill, fit, tile and center options available in the classic desktop, and the program will automatically create a color scheme to match each of your background images -- or you can manually customize the color scheme if you’re so inclined.
You can add folders to the program to use your own photos and images as background. There’s also the option to select multiple background images by holding down the Ctrl key, and have them rotate on a set time interval, as well as the option to fade background images against the start screen color for a subtle effect.

Sadly, Decor8 is not free. Stardock offers a free 30-day trial but otherwise asks a modest $4.99 for the app. It’s a little unnerving to pay for such basic functionality but if you wish to customize the Windows 8 Start screen beyond what Microsoft offers this is the easiest-to-use tool we’ve found. It does one thing and it does it well.

If you are ever unsure about anything, simply scroll down and find that specific word, then read the definition.

Anything includes: Abbreviations, Phrases, Words, and Techniques.

The list is in alphabetical order for convenience!

Abbreviations

★ DDoS =

Distributed Denial of Service

★ DrDoS =

Distributed Reflected Denial of Service Attack, uses a list of reflection servers or other methods such as DNS to spoof an attack to look like it's coming from multiple ips. Amplification of power in the attack COULD occur.

★ FTP =

File Transfer Protocol. Used for transferring files over an FTP server.

★ FUD =

Fully Undetectable

★ Hex =

In computer science, hexadecimal refers to base-16 numbers. These are numbers that use digits in the range: 0123456789ABCDEF. In the C programming language (as well as Java, JavaScript, C++, and other places), hexadecimal numbers are prefixed by a 0x. In this manner, one can tell that the number 0x80 is equivalent to 128 decimal, not 80 decimal.

★ HTTP =

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. The foundation of data communication for the World Wide Web.

★ IRC =

Internet Relay Chat. Transmiting text messages in real time between online users.

★ JDB =

Java drive-by, a very commonly used web-based exploit which allows an attacker to download and execute malicious code locally on a slave's machine through a widely known java vulnerability.

★ Malware =

Malicious Software

★ Nix =

Unix based operating system, usually refered to here when refering to DoS'ing.

★ POP3 =

This is the most popular protocol for picking up e-mail from a server.

★ R.A.T = Remote Administration Tool

★ SDB =

Silent drive-by, using a zero day web-based exploit to hiddenly and un-detectably download and execute malicious code on a slave's system. (similar to a JDB however no notification or warning is given to the user)

★ SE =

Social Engineering

★ Skid =

Script Kid/Script Kiddie

★ SMTP =

A TCP/IP protocol used in sending and receiving e-mail.

★ SQL =

Structured Query Language. It's a programming language, that used to communicate with databases and DBMS. Can go along with a word after it, such as "SQL Injection."

★ SSH =

Secure Shell, used to connect to Virtual Private Servers.

★ TCP =

Transmission Control Protocol, creates connections and exchanges packets of data.

★ UDP =

User Datagram Protocol, An alternative data transport to TCP used for DNS, Voice over IP, and file sharing.

★ VPN =

Virtual Private Network

★ VPS =

Virtual Private Server

★ XSS (CSS) =

Cross Site Scripting

Words

Algorithm =

A series of steps specifying which actions to take in which order.

ANSI Bomb =

ANSI.SYS key-remapping commands consist of cryptic-looking text that specifies, using ansi numeric codes to redefine keys.

Back Door =

Something a hacker leaves behind on a system in order to be able to get back in at a later time.

Binary =

A numbering system in which there are only two possible values for each digit: 0 and 1.

Black Hat =

A hacker who performs illegal actions to do with hacking online. (Bad guy, per se)

Blue Hat =

A blue hat hacker is someone outside computer security consulting firms who is used to bug test a system prior to its launch, looking for exploits so they can be closed. Microsoft also uses the term BlueHat to represent a series of security briefing events.

Bot =

A piece of malware that connects computer to an attacker commonly using the HTTP or IRC protocal to await malicous instructions.

Botnet =

Computers infected by worms or Trojans and taken over by hackers and brought into networks to send spam, more viruses, or launch denial of service attacks.

Buffer Overflow =

A classic exploit that sends more data than a programmer expects to receive. Buffer overflows are one of the most common programming errors, and the ones most likely to slip through quality assurance testing.

Cracker =

A specific type of hacker who decrypts passwords or breaks software copy protection schemes.

DDoS =

Distributed denial of service. Flooding someones connection with packets. Servers or web-hosted shells can send packets to a connection on a website usually from a booter.

Deface =

A website deface is an attack on a site that changes the appearance of the site or a certain webpage on the site.

Dictionary Attack =

A dictionary attack is an attack in which a cyber criminal can attempt to gain your account password. The attack uses a dictionary file, a simple list of possible passwords, and a program which fills them in. The program just fills in every single possible password on the list, untill it has found the correct one. Dictionary files usually contain the most common used passwords.

DOX =

Personal information about someone on the Internet usualy contains real name, address, phone number, SSN, credit card number, etc.

E-Whore =

A person who manipulates other people to believe that he/she is a beautiful girl doing cam shows or selling sexual pictures to make money.

Encryption = I

n cryptography, encryption applies mathematical operations to data in order to render it incomprehensible. The only way to read the data is apply the reverse mathematical operations. In technical speak, encryption is applies mathematical algorithms with a key that converts plaintext to ciphertext. Only someone in possession of the key can decrypt the message.

Exploit =

A way of breaking into a system. An exploit takes advantage of a weakness in a system in order to hack it.

FUD =

Fully undetectable, can be used in many terms. Generally in combination with crypters, or when trying to infect someone.

Grey Hat =

A grey hat hacker is a combination of a Black Hat and a White Hat Hacker. A Grey Hat Hacker may surf the internet and hack into a computer system for the sole purpose of notifying the administrator that their system has been hacked, for example. Then they may offer to repair their system for a small fee.

Hacker (definition is widely disputed among people...) = A hacker is someone who is able to manipulate the inner workings of computers, information, and technology to work in his/her favor.

Hacktivist =

A hacktivist is a hacker who utilizes technology to announce a social, ideological, religious, or political message. In general, most hacktivism involves website defacement or denial-of-service attacks.

IP Address =

On the Internet, your IP address is the unique number that others use to send you traffic.

IP Grabber =

A link that grabs someone's IP when they visit it.

Keylogger =

A software program that records all keystrokes on a computer's keyboard, used as a surveillance tool or covertly as spyware.

Leach = A cultural term in the warez community referring to people who download lots of stuff but never give back to the community.

LOIC/HOIC =

Tool(s) used by many anonymous members to conduct DDoS attacks. It is not recommended to use these under any circumstances.

Malware =

Software designed to do all kinds of evil stuff like stealing identity information, running DDoS attacks, or soliciting money from the slave.

Neophyte =

A neophyte, "n00b", or "newbie" is someone who is new to hacking or phreaking and has almost no knowledge or experience of the workings of technology, and hacking.

smith =

Somebody new to a forum/game.

OldFag =

Somebody who's been around a forum/game for a long time.

Packet =

Data that is sent across the Internet is broken up into packets, sent individually across the network, and reassembled back into the original data at the other end.

Phreak =

Phone Freaks. Hackers who hack cell phones for free calling. Free Long distance calling. Etc.

Phreaking =

The art and science of cracking the phone network.

Proxy =

A proxy is something that acts as a server, but when given requests from clients, acts itself as a client to the real servers.

Rainbow Table =

A rainbow table is a table of possible passwords and their hashes. It is way faster to crack a password using rainbow tables then using a dictionary attack (Bruteforce).

Remote Administration Tool =

A tool which is used to remotely control (an)other machine(s). These can be used for monitoring user actions, but often misused by cyber criminals as malware, to get their hands on valuable information, such as log in credentials.

Resolver =

Software created to get an IP address through IM (instant messenger, like Skype/MSN) programs.

Reverse Engineering =

A technique whereby the hacker attempts to discover secrets about a program. Often used by crackers, and in direct modifications to a process/application.

Root =

Highest permission level on a computer, able to modify anything on the system without restriction.

Rootkit (ring3 ring0) =

A powerful exploit used by malware to conceal all traces that it exists. Ring3 - Can be removed easily without booting in safemode. Ring0 - Very hard to remove and very rare in the wild, these can require you to format, it's very hard to remove certain ring0 rootkits without safemode.

Script Kiddie =

A script kid, or skid is a term used to describe those who use scripts created by others to hack computer systems and websites. Used as an insult, meaning that they know nothing about hacking.

Shell =

The common meaning here is a hacked web server with a DoS script uploaded to conduct DDoS attacks via a booter. OR A shell is an script-executing unit - Something you'd stick somewhere in order to execute commands of your choice.

Social Engineer =

Social engineering is a form of hacking that targets people's minds rather than their computers. A typical example is sending out snail mail marketing materials with the words "You may already have won" emblazoned across the outside of the letter. As you can see, social engineering is not unique to hackers; it's main practitioners are the marketing departments of corporations.

Spoof =

The word spoof generally means the act of forging your identity. More specifically, it refers to forging the sender's IP address (IP spoofing). (Spoofing an extension for a RAT to change it from .exe to .jpg, etc.)

SQL Injection =

An SQL injection is a method often used to hack SQL databases via a website, and gain admin control (sometimes) of the site. You can attack programs with SQLi too.

Trojan =

A Trojan is a type of malware that masquerades as a legitimate file or helpful program with the ultimate purpose of granting a hacker unauthorized access to a computer.

VPS =

The term is used for emphasizing that the virtual machine, although running in software on the same physical computer as other customers' virtual machines, is in many respects functionally

equivalent to a separate physical computer, is dedicated to the individual customer's needs, has the privacy of a separate physical computer, and can be configured to run server software.

Warez =

Software piracy

White Hat =

A "white hat" refers to an ethical hacker, or a computer security expert, who specializes in penetration testing and in other testing methods to ensure the security of a businesses information systems. (Good guy, per se)

Worm =

Software designed to spread malware with little to no human interaction.

Zero Day Exploit =

An attack that exploits a previously unknown vulnerability in a computer application, meaning that the attack occurs on "day zero" of awareness of the vulnerability. This means that the developers have had zero days to address and patch the vulnerability.

This is a must read post for the beginners and newbies who have just started exploring hacking and for laymen who aren't interested in learning hacking but needs somebody's account password anyhow. I want you to aware about common misconceptions regarding Email/Social Networking Sites accounts hacking...
Otherwise those thoughts/misconceptions can seriously put you in trouble.
We usually start like googling this, "how to hack gmail" , "
softwares for hacking orkut","how to hack facebook" etc
but unfortunately reach some malicious websites,
follow stupid instructions and our own accounts get compromised.

Yes I wasn't any different and had been a foolish when I was a beginner

Okay talking in general ,
suppose you just have signed up for an account(gmail,yahoo or any other reputed website)
Your password is stored only at two places

1. In website's database
2. In your mind
(Dont say a stupid thing that it is also saved in a text file on your
PC or in your girlfriend's mind etc)

Fetching your credentials (Id/password) from website's database is almost impossible.
They are paynig million of dollars for securing their systems.
Here I should remind you that, I am talking only about the reputed companies like microsoft,google,facebook etc.
Hard Core hackers might get success in compromising their systems.

Now talking about your mind, its might be really very simple to do this. Shocked ?
At this ponit,
I must say that hacking an email account depends strongly on carelessness/foolishness of victim.

FAQs or misconceptions regarding the same:-

Does any free/paid software/program/cracker exist to hack such accounts ?

No .You might get numberless free or preminum softwares which claim to crack email accounts.
The softwares just ask you to enter victim's email and start cracking/generating password.
I have already told you about two places where one's password is. From where the hell ,these softwares would bring passwords for you ? .

This kind of stuff is undoubtedly scam/rubbish....

Is there any free/premium online service to hack such accounts ?

No.You might have logged on to many websites that claim to crack any
email account for some amount of money.
They are completely fraud and be aware of them. Dont lose your money there ...

An Other type of fraud- You might have come across many tutorials/videos that instruct you
to compose an email to something@something.com.
You are asked to write victim's email ID, your
email ID, your password and are assured that you would get requested password within 24 hours.
Needless to say, it is an idea of befooling innocent people .
Ofcourse,your own account gets compromised...
Beleive me , you cant imagine the number of people who become victim of such rubbish things
They
lose their money,time,accounts but get nothing in return. So take care.

How to hack these accounts ?

Every method directly/indirectly involve victim's carelessness/lack of knowledge.

Non-Technical-
While signing up for an account, we are asked to set a security question like our nickname,
birthday place etc so that we could recover our account in case we forget our password.
Many innocent people sets the correct asnwer which they are not supposed to do.
Gather some information about victim and try to guess the answer of security question.

Technical-

1. Phishing- The most common way of hacking them is phishing.
The common type of phishing is Fake Login Page.
The victim is anyhow anyway made to enter his credentials in fake login page which resembles the genuine login page and gets hacked.
2.Malicious files- The victim is given a malicious file.
It could be binded with or hidden behind a genuine file.
It is usually a keylogger or trojan.
A keylogger secretly records everything you type and sends to attacker.
Obviously records your passwords too.
3.Stealing Sessions- Talking in simple language, whenever we sign into an account it generates a unique piece of string.
One copy is saved on server and other in our browser as cookie.
Both are matched everytime we do anything in our account.
This piece of string or login session is destroyed when we click on 'Sign Out' option.
An attacker can steal that session by convincing victim to run a piece of code in browser.
Attacker can use that stolen session to login into victim's account without providing any username/password. This attack is very uncommon because when the victim clicks 'Sign out' ,
session gets destroyed and attacker too also gets signed out.

Note-You might be thinking that one could sniff the credentials sitting in same network.
But I should remind you that,
they would be encrypted ones and cracking the SSL encryption is almost impossible.

Conclusion-

Sign up for an account at gmail/yahoo/facebook/orkut/hotmail....
Now forget its password and recovery options
Never login into it ...

Can anyhow the password be cracked/hacked.??
Answer is big NO...
