No SEO means no visitors from search engines. If you don’t do it then search engines can’t categorise and rank your site for keywords relevant to your business.

Both on-site SEO and off-site SEO are required. You can’t achieve good results doing one without the other.

Start doing SEO now. The longer you leave it to start, the further ahead your competitors will be, and the harder it becomes to rank higher than them.

Know your competition. Find out what the sites ranking on the 1st page for the keywords that you want to rank for have done, on-site and off-site, to get there.

No two websites are the same. An SEO strategy that worked for someone else’s site isn’t guaranteed to work for yours because there are so many variables.

SEO doesn’t have to be expensive. You can get big results on a small budget if you invest time in creating good content and building online relationships.

SEO results aren’t instant. The results of SEO work done today might not become apparent, and might not be credited by search engines, for weeks, or even months.

The newer your website is, the more patient you will need to be. It takes time to build authority and trust, and until you’ve developed both, you shouldn’t expect to outrank older, more established sites.

Never consider your website to be finished. If you want your site to continue to rank higher, attract more visitors and make more sales, then you should always be adding to and improving it.

Adapt to algorithm updates. To attain and retain good rankings you need to adapt your SEO strategy as search engines evolve over time.Don’t set backlink targets. Link building should be a steady, consistent, on-going process, that doesn’t stop when you reach a certain number.

Get backlinks from relevant sources. Search engines want to display relevant results for each keyword, and links from relevant pages/sites are a strong signal to them that your site is relevant.

Get backlinks from trusted sources. Links from trustworthy sites signal to search engines that your site is trustworthy too.

Be prepared to work for high quality backlinks. Generally, the more easily you can acquire a link, the less value it will likely have.

Be wary of paying people to link to your website. Buying backlinks can, and does work, however, there’s a definite risk involved if you buy cheap ones and/or from people who openly sell them.

Don’t get involved in link networks. The benefit of getting links from networks is low, whereas the risk of being penalised and losing rankings is high.

Diversify your backlink profile. Get different types of links from a wide range of IP addresses.

Build backlinks to every page of your website that you want to rank. Get people to link to the inner-pages of your site – the ones you want to rank for specific keywords – as well as to the homepage.

Existing relationships are an instant source of backlinks. Some of your suppliers, partners and customers will link to your site if you ask them to do so.

Get the good backlinks that your competition already has. If someone has already linked to one of your competitors then there’s a reasonable chance that they’ll link to you also if you give them a good reason to.

Get some backlinks with your target keywords as the link text. This type of link is important, but should make up less than 25% of your backlink profile.

The majority of your backlinks should be branded. A backlink profile without lots of branded links (like ‘Company Name’ and ‘www.companyname.co.uk’) signals to search engines that you’ve been using manipulative link building tactics.

Know who’s linking to you. Within Google Webmaster Tools, go to ’Traffic’ and then ‘Links’ to check how many sites are linking to yours and which sites they are.

Sign up for Ahrefs, Majestic SEO or Open Site Explorer. Doing so gives you access to extensive backlink data for your site and also your competitors’ sites.

Every page of your website should be linked to from at least one other page. Search engines don’t include pages in their results that aren’t linked to either internally (from another page of the same site) or externally (from another site).

Have direct links from your homepage to your most important pages. Doing so passes authority from the homepage to your important pages and improves the rankings of those pages.

Add in-content links to other relevant pages on your website. Whilst not as valuable as external links, internal links do still pass authority and signal to search engines what pages to rank for which keywords.

Remove unnecessary outbound links. Only link to pages on other sites that you think visitors to your site would find helpful and/or interesting.

Link out to relevant websites and blogs. People generally notice if you link to them, and if you link to them, there’s a reasonable chance that they’ll link back to you if you have good site.

Leave comments on relevant websites and blogs. Doing so builds trust and relationships with people – both the site owners and visitors to those sites.

Interact with bloggers in your industry. The better people with relevant blogs know you (through social sites, forums, email, etc.) the more likely they’ll be to link to your site and to share your content.

Contact small businesses with relevant websites. A good relationship, in which you help promote each others’ sites, makes SEO simpler and cheaper for you and for them.

Write press releases to share news and opinions. This is a good way to get content on, and links from, sites outside of your industry and circle of connections.

Phone people to develop online relationships. Emails can easily be ignored or forgotten, but phone calls not so much.

Use your website to build trust and relationships. The more relationships you have, and the more people trust you, the more people will talk about you, link to you, and, ultimately, buy from you.

Add your address and phone number to every page of your website. This builds trust and improves rankings if you’re targeting keyword phrases that contain your town/city name.

Get listed in industry and local directories. Most directories are worthless, however, there should be at least 10 that are relevant to your area or industry.

Ask customers to leave reviews on Google+ and local directories. Positive reviews improve your rankings in Google’s local listings and can be accessed directly from the search results.

Be personal in a way that big businesses can’t be. Putting your individuality and personality across throughout the off-site SEO process (outreach emails, guest posts, Tweets, etc.) makes others more likely to engage with you.

Use social websites to promote other people’s content as well as your own. People generally know if you’ve taken action on social sites to help them, and if they see that you’ve helped them, the chances of them helping you out in return are much higher.

Add social sharing buttons to your website. The easier you make it for people to share your content, the more likely they will be to do so.

Social media isn’t a replacement for SEO. Your social strategy should be part of, or should run alongside, your SEO strategy.

Search engines ranks webpages, not websites. Whether or not a page ranks for a particular keyword depends largely on the quality of that individual page, and not the quality of your site as a whole.

Small businesses can rank higher than big businesses. It’s not uncommon for a page on a small business’s site to rank higher than a page on the site of a big, national company.

Know where you’re ranking. Within Google Webmaster Tools, go to ‘Traffic’ and then ‘Search Queries’ to check where your site is ranking for keywords.

Aim to be in the top 3, not just the top 10. If your site isn’t ranked in the top 3 positions for a keyword then you’ll only get a small percentage (less than 10%) of the traffic from searches for that keyword.

Rankings can be misleading. The number of 1st page rankings you have is irrelevant if those rankings don’t convert to visitor numbers and, ultimately, sales.

Don’t worry about PageRank. Sites with a low PR can, and often do, outrank sites with a high PR.

Choose between using www or not using www. Ensure that your site is set to load at either www.domainname.co.uk or domainname.co.uk – not both.

Adopt a flat website architecture. Any page of your site should be accessible within 3 clicks from your homepage.

Use a simple, clear URL structure. People should be able to guess the topic of a page by looking only at its URL.

Use header tags. Include variations of your target keyword phrases in a page’s H1 and H2 tags.

Use rich snippets. They provide additional data about your site to search engines and can improve the appearance of your site’s listing in search results.

Use 301 redirects. If you change the url of a page on your site, but don’t redirect the old url to the new one, any links pointing to the old one will be wasted.

Set-up a useful 404 error page. Linking to your best content from your 404 page means that visitors who see it are less likely to leave your site.

You don’t need to submit your website to search engines. They have evolved beyond the point of needing to be directly notified when a new website, or page on a website, is created.

Get advice directly from Google. Via their Webmaster Guidelines and Webmaster Help Videos.

Don’t risk Google penalties. As they have a significant share of the search market, a penalty from them results in a significant, and often long-term, loss of visitors to your site.

You’re ultimately responsible for all of SEO work done on your website. Search engines won’t remove a penalty on the basis that you didn’t do, and didn’t know the specifics of, the SEO work on your site.

Set-up and use Google Webmaster Tools. To find out, among other things, what keywords your site is ranking for and which other sites are linking to yours.

Set-up and use Google Analytics. To find out, among other things, how many visitors your site gets, the keywords they use to find it, and what pages they visit.

Set-up a Google+ page for your business. Doing so builds trust with Google and improves rankings for localised keywords.

Diversify your traffic sources. Google is a great source of traffic but being 100% reliant on them for visitors puts you in a vulnerable position.

Use Pay Per Click in addition to SEO. If you can afford to do both, then do both, as although PPC can be costly, you can get visitors to your site straight away for any keywords that you want.

Low quality equals high risk. Low quality backlinks and/or low quality on-site content can easily result in your site being penalised by search engines.

Create content primarily for people, not search engines. There’s no point creating content that ranks well if it doesn’t help people, interest them, or persuade them to buy from you.

Remove duplicate content. You can be penalised for having the same, or very similar, content on multiple pages of your site.

Remove, merge or add to pages with little content on them. Having lots of content-light pages, with short page view times, can result in search engines downgrading all of your site’s keyword rankings.

Don’t copy content from other websites. If search engines find that content on your site has been taken from elsewhere they may downgrade rankings for some, or even all, of your webpages.

Claim authorship of your content. Linking your Google+ account to your content improves both rankings and click-through-rate.

Ensure your content is good enough to be on the 1st page. If your content isn’t better than the content already on the 1st page for a keyword then your site doesn’t deserve to rank there.

Make your content engaging for visitors. The more engaging it is, the longer people will stay on your site, and high viewing times signal to search engines that your site deserves good rankings.

Create videos. They increase the amount of time that people spend on your site and also allow you to get links from video sharing sites.

Create stats/charts/graphs/infographics. People are more likely to share and link to these types of content than plain written content.

More content equals more rankings, more visitors and more sales. Search engines reward, and visitors trust more, sites that are filled with lots of pages of good quality content.

Add a blog to your website. Doing so makes it quick and simple to add new pages of content to your site.

Create content to post on other websites and blogs. People are much more likely to link to you if you provide them with content to use on their site.

Balance creating content with marketing content. If you create content without marketing it then people will struggle to find it, and if they can’t find it they can’t link to it or share it.

Write a unique, descriptive title for every page. Within 65 characters you need to make the topic of a page clear to both humans and search engines.

Write a unique, descriptive meta description for every page. Within 160 characters you need to describe the topic of a page in a way that persuades people to click on your site instead of the other sites listed in the search results.

Research keywords before optimising for them. If you choose the wrong keywords, regardless of what you do for on-site and off-site SEO, you’ll get very few visitors and/or visitors who don’t convert into sales.

Use Google’s Keyword Tool. It provides a good list of words and phrases related to the keyword ideas that you enter into it.

Get keyword ideas from other people. They (customers, suppliers, partners, friends, etc.) see your business differently to you and may associate different words and phrases with it.

Target relevant keywords. The more relevant your keywords are, the easier and quicker it is to rank for them, and the higher the percentage of visitors who will become buyers.

Target keywords with commercial intent. You want visitors who are ready to spend money rather than those who are just looking for information.

Long-tail keywords are a great source of traffic. It’s quicker and cheaper to rank for longer, specific keyword phrases, and more than 40% of searches are comprised of four or more words.

Dedicate 1 page of your website to each keyword that you’re targeting. Doing so makes it simpler for search engines to categorise and rank your pages.

Add keywords in the right places. They’re less important than they used to be, but you should still include them in urls, page titles, meta descriptions, header tags and image alt tags.

Avoid keyword stuffing. You’re much more likely to be penalised than credited if you use a keyword phrase repeatedly on a page.

Backlinks affect rankings more than anything else. The number and quality of links pointing to your site will largely determine in what position your site ranks.

The first step once you start an search engine optimization (SEO) project is to find out how many keywords you expect to use for all your pages. The number of keywords needed for an organic SEO project depends on the business and what words would be beneficial to provide the site with acceptable traffic.
The first step is to generate an initial list of words. These keywords should be a short list of what your website is trying to promote and other words related to your industry. These words will provide the jumpstart you need to choose the right keywords for the site's organic search engine optimization campaign. Once you have the list, you'll want to read through the site to see how it has used the keywords that you have already chosen and to gather ideas for additional keywords. The keywords chosen may be broad terms which may or may not work for your particular site. The words that you need to look for are specialized words or phrases that will enable the site to have top SEO ranking and will deliver qualified traffic.
Another way to gather keywords is to see what words are being used by competitors. Enter one of your keywords into the search box of the search engine of your choice to determine the sites with the top search engine placement for this word. You are aiming for keywords that are frequently used by your target audience, but do not have many competing pages. This way, you will have a better conversion rate. View the source code of your competitor's page and check to see if they have Meta Keywords tag. This tag will look like . Look at the words within the 'content' of this tag and add relevant terms to your list of words or phrases. It is probably best that you check out the top five search engine results. Repeat this procedure with all the keywords from your initial list. Doing this SEO research allows you to decide whether these words or phrases are targeted to your website's products or services.
Once you have accumulated enough words and phrases, you will need to find out the monthly activity or popularity of each potential keyword. There are three main tools available that will perform this duty, Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery and the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Though each tool works a little differently, each one produces a list of relevant keywords based on a single keyword phrase that you provide. You can use these suggestions to add keywords to your list. To use these tools, type in the keyword that you want to research and the tools will display other relevant keywords. Obtaining more potential keywords means that you may want to repeat the process of typing these words into the search engine and reviewing the sites with top search engine ranking; you could find even more keywords and you will verify their relevancy.
After you have generated a large enough list of possible keywords, you'll need to decide which words target the website's subject the closest. You need to ask yourself, would I type this word into the search engine in the hope of locating this website or is it a relevant word to the site? If it is an appropriate word but it has not been used on the site, would we be willing to write more content on the subject? After you have gone through your list and taken off words that are not relevant or that your website does not have sufficient content for, you should have a shorter, but more relevant, list of keywords, which should have pages to support them.

A while ago I discussed how you could manually evaluate your competition by comparing the key phrase inachor: and intitle: results. Today I’ll add a few online tools that can also be very helpful in measuring your SERPs competition.

1. Nichewatch (free) looks into top 10 Google results for a given phrase and lets you compare them by letting you compare:

their backlinks to the domain in Yahoo;
backlinks to the webpage in Yahoo;
Goolge PR of a domain and a page (both currently broken);
keyphrase occurrences on web page;
pages indexed of domain in Yahoo;
their rankings for allinanchor: Google rank;
rankings for allintitle: Google rank;
rankings for allintext: Google rank.

2. Keyword difficulty tool (for SEOmoz premium members) will estimate the level of competition by looking into (for both Yahoo and Google):

page strength (calculated by another cool SEOmoz tool);
page backlinks;
domain backlinks;
domain age;
number of .edu and .gov links;
Alexa Rank
internal link ratio;
Del.icio.us links;
Technorati links;
DMOZ links;
Wiki. links;
Google PR.

3. Compete.com (paid with several free searches) will also list your direct competitors for a certain keyword and some interesting additional info you will like:

site share – i.e. how much the site traffic relies on this keyword referral traffic;
the site average monthly search referrals.

What Is The Best Title Tag For Google?

Title Tag Best Practices
The page title tag (or HTML Title Element) is arguably the most important on page seo factor. Keywords in page titles can HELP your pages rank higher in Google results pages (SERPS). The page title is also often used by Google as the title of a search snippet link in search engine results pages.
For me, a perfect title tag in Google is dependant on a number of factors;

The page title is highly relevant to the page it refers to, it will probably be displayed in a web browsers window title bar, and the clickable search snippet link in Google, Bing & other search engines. The title is the “crown” of a keyword targeted article with important keyword featuring AT LEAST ONCE, as all search engines place a lot of weight in what words are contained within this html element. A good page title is made up of keyword phrases of value and/or high search volumes.
Google displays as many characters as it can fit into ”a block element that’s 512px wide and doesn’t exceed 1 line of text”. So – THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS any seo can lay down as exact best practice to GUARANTEE your title will display, in full in Google, at least. Ultimately – only the characters and words you use will determine if your entire page title will be seen in a Google search snippet. Google used to count 70 characters in a title – but that changed in 2011/2012. If you want to ENSURE your full title tag shows in Google SERPS, stick to about 65 characters. I have seen ‘up-to’ 69 characters (in 2012) – but as I said – it depends on the characters you use.
Google will INDEX perhaps 1000s of characters in a title… but no-one knows exactly how many characters or words Google will actually count AS a TITLE when determining relevance for ranking purposes. It is a very hard thing to try to isolate accurately. I have had ranking success with longer titles – much longer titles – Google certainly reads ALL the words in your page title (unless you are spamming it silly, of course).
You can probably include up to 12 words that will be counted as part of a page title, and consider using your important keywords in the first 8 words.
Some page titles do better with a call to action – one which reflects exactly a searcher’s intent (e.g. to learn something, or buy something, or hire something. Remember this is your hook in search engines, if Google chooses to use your page title in its search snippet, and there is now a lot of competing pages out there!
When optimising a title, you are looking to rank for as many terms as possible, without keyword stuffing your title. Often, the best bet is to optimise for a particular phrase (or phrases) – and take a more long-tail approach. Yes – that does mean more pages on your site – that’s the reality in 2014. Content. Content. Content.
The perfect title tag on a page is unique to other pages on the site. In light of Google Panda, an algorithm that looks for a ‘quality’ in sites, you REALLY need to make your page titles UNIQUE, and minimise any duplication, especially on larger sites.
I like to make sure my keywords feature as early as possible in a title tag but the important thing is to have important keywords and key phrases in your page title tag SOMEWHERE.
For me, when SEO is more important than branding, the company name goes at the end of the tag, and I use a variety of dividers to separate as no one way performs best. If you have a recognisable brand – then there is an argument for putting this at the front of titles.
I like to think I write titles for search engines AND humans.
Know that Google tweaks everything regularly – why not what the perfect title keys off? So MIX it up…
Don’t obsess! Natural is probably better, and will only get better as engines evolve. As I said – these days – I optimise for key-phrases, rather than just keywords.
Generally speaking, the more domain trust/authority your SITE has in Google, the easier it is for a new page to rank for something. So bear that in mind. THere is only so much you can do with your page titles – your websites rankings in Google are a LOT more to do with OFFSITE factors than ONSITE ones.
Also bear in mind, in 2014, the html title element you choose for your page, may not be what Google chooses to include in your SERP snippet. The search snippet title and description is very much QUERY dependant these days. Google often chooses what it thinks is the most relevant title for your search snippet, and it can use information from your page, or in links to that page, to create a very different SERP snippet title.
Click through rate is something that is likely measured by Google when ranking pages (Bing say they use it too, and they now power Yahoo), so it is really worth considering whether you are best optimising your page titles for click-through rate or optimising for more search engine rankings.
Google has been recorded recently discussing an ‘over-optimisation’ penalty. I would imagine keyword stuffing your page titles could be one area they look at.
Remember….think ‘keyword phrase‘ rather than ‘keyword‘, ‘keyword‘ ,’keyword‘…
Google will select the best title it wants for your search snippet – and it will take that information from multiple sources, NOT just your page title element. A small title is often appended with more information about the domain. Sometimes, if Google is confident in the BRAND name, it will replace it with that (often adding it to the beginning of your title with a a colon, or sometimes appending the end of your snippet title with the actual domain the page is on.

Don’t Spam Title Tags
When you write a page title, you have a chance right at the beginning of the page to tell Google (and other search engines) if this is a spam site or a quality site – such as – have you repeated the keyword 4 times or only once? I think title tags, like everything else, should probably be as simple as possible, with the keyword once and perhaps a related term if possible.
I always aim to keep my html page title elements relatively simple, and looking as human-generated and unique, as possible, although it is easy to end up stuffing keywords in there.
Dynamic Titles In Google SERP Snippet
Google works VERY differently since the days I started publishing results on such seo tests. (I kept some of the information below on this page to show how SEO learned what Google seemed to like, and how you tested such a thing, in case anyone is interested in the future).
With DYNAMIC page titles - Google is free to ignore the page title you use – and will choose the best title for your search snippet, based on what it thinks, is the most relevant text, to a search query. It is now VERY COMMON for Google to create it’s own search snippet title, all but effectively ignoring the title you specified for the page.
I witnessed this tested for months if not for over a year (usually to help repair malformed titles or pages with the same title ‘tag’ as some call it, for instance), but it became very widespread, even for well formed pages too.

On-site optimisation refers to the process of making your website appeal to both search engines and users. It reviews and improves both the public face of your website and the behind the scenes coding and technical set-up that only search engines see.
A search engine evaluates a website differently to a human visitor. A search engine can’t evaluate how nicely your website is designed, how well your content is written or how much value your products/services provide. It has to judge a website from a technical point of view.
On-site optimisation is the foundation on which the off-site optimisation process builds upon. Without it, off-site optimisation efforts can go largely to waste. The process is wide ranging, and will vary slightly from website to website, but these are some of the main factors that form the on-site optimisation process:

Add keywords to urls, title tags, meta descriptions, header tags and alt tags.
Ensure each page has a unique and descriptive title and description.
Assign existing, or create new, pages for each keyword.
Improve content to match/better content on competitor websites.
Assess existing and potential keyword targets.
Remove, merge or add to pages that have little useful content on them.
Check the site loads properly in different web browsers and screen resolutions.
Analyse inbound link profile.
Ensure call to actions are located in prominent positions.
Link to important pages from the homepage and/or main navigation area.
Improve the readability and formatting of written content.
Check for and fix broken links.
Add structured data mark-up code.
Claim authorship of content.
Fix duplicate content issues.
Add in-content links where appropriate.
Remove unnecessary outbound links.
Create a user-friendly 404 error page.
Assess and improve page loading times.
Add social media sharing buttons.
Create and submit an XML sitemap.
Set-up Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.

Some of these factors only ever need to be dealt with once, whereas others need to be regularly reviewed to see what further improvements can be made. Unless a professional SEO consultant has worked on your website, it’s highly unlikely that your website will be at all optimised for search engines, as on-site optimisation is something that web design companies rarely pay any attention to.

It is a combo of three indivual iquery plugins that is search box,subscription box,playlist box.
Where with the use of search box plugin you can have search of your favourite chanels on youtube by filling the box with your favourite chanel name.
And also we provided subscription box to subscribe the channel from your website only.
