It’s been a very long time since I last took out the 4rth part of this Series,But now, I have decided to blog more related to this series only. Thanks to everyone who waited patiently for this part to come out.

• A Go-To Posts link which has options to redirect you to Overview, Posts,Pages,Comments etc.,
• and finally, A “view blog” button which opens your blog in a new tab.

So, you can now see a plethora of options available on the top which are quite easy-to-understand, and most notably The full page editing feature is the best of all. Switching between HTML and Visual modes is now more of a pleasure than the plight earlier. Most of the options are the general ones which one can easily understand if has a little knowledge about writing text onscreen using MS-word or other software. For the beginner’s, there is a great to know about in blogging. When you are writing a post in normal text or visual way, the Editor itself creates its HTML version, and you can tweak both simultaneously without any quality loss in your composition. So in a way, it’s more like a HTML editor but has a visual mode and is also very appealing to use. These editors are termed as WYSIWYG Editors. WYSIWYG is an Acronym for “What You See Is What You Get”. So you might get a hint from that name itself? There are a few more things to take care of like

• Labels : These are the categories under which you can categorize your articles. Labels allow you to organize your articles in a Orderly fashion, enabling easy navigation and search for your users. You can use atmost 20 Labels per Post and 2000 Labels per Blog in total. So a wise selection from start will help you stay within your designated limits.
• Schedule : This feature enables you to schedule the Publishing of your Post. You can either Publish immediately or else set a time and date for the same to happen.
• Location : You can let your Readers know about the location from where you would be posting your articles. It’s a handy feature for Bloggers who travel a lot.
• Options : there are a few more options required for editing which allows/doesn’t allow Readers to comment on your blog, a HTML Visibility Option, and a option to include Line breaks.

For using Images on your blog you need to click the “Insert Image” button on the top menu (shown as a photo frame). You can either upload the image from your computer or else link the URL of the image already present on the web. Follow the same for Videos too. All the images that you upload will be stored in your PicasaWeb account.

3. What else do you need to blog?

Just an Imaginative brain and knowledge of language. As a blogger, one never need to worry about the technical aspects of blogging since there are many technical blogs like Knolzone and others where you can keep discovering new techniques to improve your blog’s outreach. A fresh and innovative article is always welcome by readers and will generate interest in your readers. Always remember never to copy content from other sources/blogs. If it’s a review, opine yourself bravely. If it’s a news, present the fact. People nowadays depend more on the internet than TV to get the latest updates and Blogs are the biggest beacons of light in this Direction.

So, the Possibilities and stories are many to write, and as long bloggers keep writing, Internet would keep buzzing!!

Well, There are many ways to publish code in your blog posts. I’d like to tell you the best, easy and most intelligent way of doing it and others in the next series.

You might have already googled about “How to publish you code in blog” or “syntax highlighter”.. But I can tell you, most of you might have not read about this method. Although few programmers who tend to blog would present it as a tip. In this article, I’ll tell you how to use GitHub to publish your code.

Well, If you are not aware of GitHub, GitHub is a social coding community. GIT is a version control system developed by Linus Torvalds.

How to publish your Code:

Go to GitHub and register yourself. Although you don’t have to register to put your code but by registering, you’ll have control over previously written scripts.

1. Click on Gist, mentioned in your Dashboard or on the home page or else click here, Gist:GitHub
2. Now you’ll find a Editor there
3. Mention Description, FileName (with Extension) etc
4. Write the Code
5. Click “Create Public Gist”
6. Now, click “Embed” option mentioned in the editor (you’ll find after saving) and copy that.
7. Paste the embed script in your blog post and publish.
8. Your Job is done. Enjoy!

Advantages :

•  No matter which in which language you write, your code’s syntax will be highlighted. 
• Though, there might be some exceptions, it will work for all most all languages. Unlike other methods ex: Alexgorbatchev Syntax Highlighter or any other one, you don’t have to worry about ” < ” and ” > ” tags.
• People can download it as a file or see it as raw text.
• You embed your code anywhere and any number of times and still can edit all of them at once using your GitHub Account.
• The most important Advantage over all of these is that, Your code is published in Google Code Search. Where as in other methods, it doesn’t. Your code is seen by many programmers in GitHub and thus your code and your site may become popular.

There another most popular method, Alexgorbatchev Syntax Highlighter. I’d explain about it in other article and link it back here. In this method, We use some JavaScript’s developed by Alexgorbatchev. Although syntax of your code will be highlighted but “>” and “<” tags are not displayed. for that you need to use certain translators.

So, Guys don’t worry about it and start using GitHub now!

Recently, I found out more about Branding RSS Feeds and the best part of it was, that the entire process was absolutely free and the system was maintained by none other than the Internet Giant Google via FeedBurner.

I have incorporated these into my blog and enabled my readers to subscribe to specific Channels of news rather than the entire blog to avoid accumulation of their inbox. This “Free” services works only for users with a Self-Hosted Domain, and not the free hosting packages. You need to have a control over your CNAME Servers

Outdoing the earlier expectations of Knolzone, Apple has decided in going ahead with it’s plans of launching its most anticipated gadget of the year : iPad 3.

Apple announced its plans of flying iPad 3 from its shelves in India from April 27,2012.

Knolzone Predicted a good two years before iPad 3 debuting in India. Even 4G was anticipated to be a pipedream, but fortunately, April 2012 turned out to be otherwise.

iPad 3 Pricing Details | Competitively priced

Apple had brought a welcome but really unexpected move in India. With the formal launch of 4G services in India, Apple can go forward with its tablet. Surely, Its going to be Airtel, who would be keen on launching iPad 3 in India. Whether the decision of launching iPad 3 in India was the primary move or the launch of 4G, both were simultaneously required for Airtel and Apple, a Strategic partnership in India.

The Dilemma | Apple cuts the prices of iPad 2

With a view to launch the new iPad, Apple has reduced the prices of its former tab iPad 2 by a good 17%. Maybe,  sharp criticism from Indian bloggers or the monstrous tablet market in India had worked wonders.

The real issue lies here. Apple iPad 3 is technically great, but economically no good to splurge an additional 6000 bucks. Most of the work we do can be easily done on a iPad 2. We had also criticized the new iPad to be a dumb tablet, in one of our earlier posts.

Also, without 4G across the whole of the Nation, it wouldn’t be a pleasure holding one without running in it’s full capacity. Even High Definition Content at 1536p isn’t available in India. Also the Initial 4G cost will still be a tad too high owning to the billions that the telecom operators pumped in getting their licences registered.

Similarly, in iPad 3 has problems in connecting to 4G also, Not technical but geographical. Currently only US spectrum of 4G is supported. Australia has Nation-wide 4G and is also sold there, but the devices do not tether to the existing networks. If that’s the case with developed countries, imagine the plight of Indian consumer.

The Verdict | Its a  matter of choice. You can vary. 

For the first timer/Tight Budget : Go for iPad 2 (Wi-fi only) , and later upgrade to iPad 4 (when 4G becomes widespread in India). It makes sense to buy the lower end so that by the time, the next version of iPad is out, there would be a good choice of options to choose from.

New iPad is no doubt better, but waiting for next version of  iPad will be better. Make use of existing 3G technology at the cheapest price now. It can’t get more cheaper than this.

Go for iPad 2 (wi-fi+3G) rather than iPad 3(wi-fi+4G), because of lack of 4G and cheaper costs.

Overall, buying iPad 2 makes more sense economically and if you a die-hard fan of Apple or want to be the first to hold the device, then you are most welcome to do so.

If you haven’t tried 3G yet, Then forget it. with the launch of 4G in India, It can now boast of being at par with some of the best networks in the world. India is one of the few countries to make the fastest transition from 3G to 4G.

The Start | Kolkata

Airtel began rolling out 4G services from The City of Joy, Kolkata. Its one of the  four Telecom Circles acquired by it during the recent Spectrum sale. It paid about INR3314 Crores for the Licence to Thrill. Airtel will soon begin 4G in Punjab, Maharashtra and Karnataka too.

How Fast | 5-10 times faster than 3G

At speeds of upto 40-60 Mbps for downloads on the move for a wireless service, It can be called Fiercely fast.

Devices | Few Mobiles are present but Datacards are now for sale.

4G-compatible handsets are currently not available in the market yet, Airtel will be offering LTE compatible wireless devices including multi-mode USB dongles (Huawei E392) and a Indoor Wireless gateway (Huawei B593). The USB dongle is priced at Rs 7,999 and will feature a USIM card slot, a Micro SD card slot and a USB 2.0 connector while the Indoor wireless gateway is priced at Rs 7,750 and will convert the LTE connection to Wi-Fi network which can then be shared across multiple devices. It also features multiple user access support, multi screen video chat, a built-in DHCP server and NAT and a web-based management system.

Samsung Nexus S 4G, Galaxy S 4G, Exhibit 4G, Epic are currently in sale from Stables of Samsung. HTC has Sensation, Inspire, Evo and Thunderbolt. LG has Thrill 4G. More details on these phones will be published soon.

Samsung, HTC and LG have let already launched 4G phones in the market before the actual launch of 4G. Other’s have some  following to do.

Tariffs | as usual, on the higher side.

Airtel 4G will be available in both in prepaid and postpaid. It will be offering three different 4G plans namely breakfree, breakfree max and breakfree ultra. Breakfree will offer 6GB data for a monthly rental of Rs 999, followed by breakfree max which will offer 9GB data for a monthly rental of Rs 1399 and breakfree ultra which will offer 18GB data for a monthly rental of Rs 1999. After the usage of free data, the 4G speeds will throttle down to 128kbps across all plans.

As an introductory offer, Airtel informed that postpaid customers will receive bill discounts. The customers on Rs 999 plans will receive discounts worth one month’s rent spread across the first six bill cycles i.e. they will receive a bill discount of Rs 167 per bill for the first six bills and the customers on the Rs 1399 plan and Rs 1999 plan will receive discounts worth two month’s rent spread across the first six bill cycles which essentially means that customers on Rs 1399 plan will receive a bill discount of Rs.466/ bill for the first six bills and customers on Rs 1999 plan will receive a bill discount of Rs 666 / bill for the first six bills.

Other Services | Airtel offerings

Along with data, Airtel will also be offering various services like Airtel Movies (powered by BigFlix), Airtel Games (powered by IndiaGames), Airtel live devotion (also known as Airtel iDivine) and Broadband TV. Airtel had previously tied up with Reliance ADA group owned online streaming and DVD/VCD rental service BigFlix to launch Airtel Movies, offering live streaming of 500 movies, 100 TV shows, 100 Trailers and 100 music videos. It had also partnered with Disney’s Indiagames to power its gaming platform on Airtel Digital TV and offer a Games on Demand service on Airtel Broadband. Earlier this month, Airtel had launched a new interactive service called iDivine which offered live and recorded video darshans of temples, Dargahs, Gurudwaras and churches.

The Future | Looks great but few doubts remain

Mukesh Ambani has the Licence to thrill the whole Nation. He has 4G licence across 22 circles. So the Businessman should have a  more better trick up his sleeve to cater people across the whole nation. It is a little intriguing that state-Owned BSNL did not launch 4G before private operators like in 3G. But let’s keep our fingers crossed. Spread of 4G across nation can take years, but some tactful strategies can make us the best consumers of 4G networks. It’s a welcome move by Airtel.

State-owned BSNL did not launch 4G unlike it did during 3G. Mukesh Ambani has 4G licence across all the  22 circles of India. So, more action is yet to begin now.

It’s a nostalgic moment when you read the fact “IIT-JEE is now History“.

It’s finally ending after screwing students for over 6 decades. It still sends a shiver down my spine when I remember the day before giving my Exam. I was restless and reluctant. Its two years since I cleared the Exam, but the nightmares of my days of preparation still haunt me today, and to know of the demise of the exam that gave me a great life today is really saddening.

IIT-JEE, The Joint Entrance Exam for selection into 15 Indian Institutes of Technology, termed the Toughest Exam on planet, has never been physically strong in existence. It has always been a target for the politicians and civilians alike. From the days of Subjective entrance exams spanning over months like its UPSC counterpart, to the Objective pattern in 2006, where only a single day could decide your fate, It has taken a number of blows. Despite its autonomous nature,it had to bow down to the bureaucratic pressures with time.

Despite getting hit in many ways, IIT’s never compromised in rigidity of selection nor reduced its rejection rate. It is still a “dream” for many.

The Blows | from Pattern changes to the Exam itself!

The first major blow which I presume might be the Mandal Commission Report, which brought the most hotly debated reservation into IIT’s and other Major Institutes. Quality of students took a nose dive. The Exam was then cut down to a One Day Match with two innings. Then came the Expansion mode of existing Super Seven IIT’s to a Fat Fifteen Club. The setbacks started mostly from the nineties, after India opened up. The reputation of the Institutes was such.

The latest blow being the Exam itself, ISEET is being proposed over JEE, to make it easier for students to enter. Well, that’s the latest trick up their sleeves!

The Answer | Never-Say-Die, the spirit of IIT’s

The IIT’s never gave up. from time to time, new methods were being devised by the shrewd Professors to keep a check on the quality of inflow into their Sprawling Campuses. If the people think IIT’s have died or declined, I ask you to think otherwise. It’s an important fact  to know that IIT’s and its compact environment is the country’s best, and trying to break it or making a dent into it only increases its immunity. The exams and its pattern have loosened, but students across the country still whack their heads to get a solution. A sprawling Multi-Billion Dollar coaching industry thrives on IIT-JEE. If it wasn’t for the quality, there wouldn’t have been anything.

It’s Still too tough to enter, my dear people.

50% reservation, 8 new IIT’s, Easier exam (or so called), then why the cut-off scores of exams are still way below the expected levels? Students have to think, innovate and strategize instead of taking upon the Institutes by the backdoor.

People and Politicians need to rethink. Backdoor politics worked way back in uneducated India. Times have changed. So have the strategies.

Some real Screwing Stats : 

Over 1.2 Crore students have tried to get into these elite Institutions in India over past 6 decades, taking an average of 2 Lakh per year. Currently, over 5.2 Lakh students have tested their fortunes in 2012.

Out of those approx 1.2 Crore ( 12 million) applicants, around 3 Lakh (0.3 million) have been deemed to be called themselves as a part of this elite club. Thats a rough acceptance ratio of 2.5%, or the Rejection rate of the Exam is a whopping 97.5%. Well, I am fortunate enough to make it into the club, which gave me the strength to analyse the scenario in the first place.

Some 3 Lakh IITians from 1.2 crore plus aspirants in 57 years. That’s like picking a village from the whole of India!! 2.5 % has been the selection until now.

Enter the Dragon | Future Aspects

Bidding Adieu seems fun for some, but get ready for some real action. ISEET (or some proposed silly test), isn’t going to be easy. Now, the aspirants have to be tight on their toes in School as well. Two Exams – Main and Advanced, in which IIT’s will screen students in all its entirety, will give some tough time for students to fiddle out solutions. Well, JEE 2012 has just concluded, and I am waiting for the freshers to arrive!!
