Sony electronics won’t be letting the cloud based music revolution pass it by. “At the IFA consumer electronics show Sony announced that it will launch a streaming music service by the end of the year. Called Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity users will be able to access millions of songs.”-networkworld

Keep Your Goals To Yourself If You Want To Achieve Them

As an undergrad in art school I remember being chastised by my professor for being too cerebral. She wanted me to put all my ideas down on paper and I felt they were better off in my head, where I could ponder them further. Being that I was in a design class I had to give in an draw out everything I intended to do. This tendency to keep ideas and new concepts to my self did not die in that class however. I’m still quite secretive to this day. In his TED talk Derek Sivers founder and former president of CD Baby an online CD store for independent musicians details why he believes it is best to keep your ideas to yourself in order to improve the chance of achieving them. Turns out I was right all along.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Android Tablet Hands On Video Review

Hot on the heels of Apple’s media briefing and announcements of an all new iPod line up, comes the debut of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. Their first entry into the tablet form factor market. The 7″ tablet addresses one of the main gripe early adopters had with the iPad, the lack of cameras to allow for video conferencing. Samsung goes above and beyond with the Galaxy Tab by including both a front and back facing camera ala the iPhone 4G and an led flash. The device interface is also blazing fast due to a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird mobile processor and a custom build of the latest Google Android OS (Froyo). To make this a true contender to the iPad Samsung has enlisted the support of several top media companies to bring newspapers, books, music, and video to the device.

Reddit Has Taken Over Digg

The Digg staff must be going absolutely mad today. After launching the much anticipated version 4 of Digg.com last week, the site has experienced a fair share of bugs. This is understandable though due to the sheer volume of visitors the site experienced during the relaunch. Long time user of the site have also revolted over the fact that publishers are allowed to post their RSS feeds directly to the site. Thus taking away the crowd sourced nature of the site. Which leads us to today’s latest mishap, Digg clone and longtime rival Reddit has taken over the front page of Digg by gaming the new algorithm that allows RSS feed posting. The front page of the site is now predominantly Reddit news. This is a PR disaster, and major engineering fail. Welcome to the new Reddit.

The Ringling College of Art + Design has been on a roll of late with the quality of their student projects. Animators Brendan Carroll & lighting artist Francesco Giroldini look to continue that proud heritage with their brilliant animated short film, The Monk & The Monkey.

A determined young boy, Ragu, is sent by his master on his final quest to become a monk. A seemingly simple task becomes an unexpected challenge for Ragu as he discovers the real value of his quest.
