Well 2012 is shaping up to be a good year – just one problem however, the Mayans and a few other cultures are predicting that it is all coming to an end!  Well, I got news for you and a bold BOLD prediction, the world will not end in 2012!

So, Week 13 or should we say Weak 13 looks a little, well let’s say – weak.  There are no marquee match-ups!  The games you thought would be good – say the Pats and the colts – well the only thing that is good about this game is the Colts are one step closer to landing Luck.

Or say the winning record teams – the Texans *my super bowl pick* and the Falcons… well this is going to be nothing more than a boring run fest as the Texans have a great running team and a 3rd string rookie QB in Yates… but isn’t there another 5th string draft choice that is starting today – hmmmm Brady any one? Yates, is this going to be the start of something special?  I doubt it but we will see…

The Saints and the Lions is probably the best match-up, but without Suh do you think the Lions really stand a chance – the only way to beat the Saints is with a brutal pass rush and without Suh – that hurts…

So, I guess Koozie time on monday will really be about printing custom koozies.

Have you ever compared a College Football player’s performance with that of an NFL player’s? This question actually sparks a universe of conversation amongst football fans all over the world. True Football fans can tell the difference, and this is a topic of some very heated discussions between fans, which is why I’ve taken the liberty to publicly display my personal opinion on this matter.

You see, in our great nation The United States of America, we’re all raised to be Football crazed since we’re toddlers. This frenzy has driven Football to be the #1 sport in the country along with Baseball (which in my opinion, is too slow a sport). From Pee Wee (Pop Warner) Football to the NFL, it’s part of our lives since we can remember. But when it comes down to pondering when our athletes perform their best, I’d have to say it’s during the college years. If you’re great in college and enrolled in a Division I College Program, you’re almost guaranteed draft to the NFL before you even graduate. It’s what we call a ‘stepping stone’ into the big leagues, where everyone makes the big bucks. Similarly, when in high school, getting a full scholarship to any major university or college in the country would be considered a stepping stone. Take a look at the Philadelphia Eagles back-up QB Vince Young, for instance. Vince Young studied at Madison High School in Houston, TX, which is a 5A Division Football Program, the highest level of high school performance in the state Texas. He received a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, during a time of great pride for their Football Program. Ranked in the BCS Top 25 all four years under his leadership and Mack Brown’s coaching, they went on to beat the University of Southern California for the National Championship in 2005, where Vince scored the winning Touchdown with few seconds remaining on the clock. If you ever watch the last two minutes of that game, you will see the ambition and determination of this young athlete to win the Title, while remaining in awe.

Since being drafted to the NFL, Young’s career has quieted down and his popularity diminished to mediocrity practically. His performance shows caution and lack of ambition, which he once showed in college. This is due to the fact that once in the NFL, players in general, wish to stay there and will do almost anything to keep it that way for as long as humanly possible. This is understandable, considering the fact they’re getting paid millions of dollars in contract to play Football. Young’s case is a perfect example; how does a National Champion lose the starting position at QB after every single fan in the league expected him to be great? You can answer by stating he’s a ‘Washed-Up QB’, which we all know is probably the greatest truth of all. In my opinion, Young figured now that he’s in the NFL making millions, why should he bust his rear trying to win the Super Bowl? My answer is, “Because it’s what separates good players from Legends!”

In the NCAA, players perform their best in order to get scouts and teams interested in them, so hopefully one day they’ll get drafted into the National Football League and help their families economically. Once the goal is achieved, there’s no need to work as hard. This is a bit sad, considering every child in our nation has a favorite NFL player. Yet, every once in a while you find a player with the ambition to go the distance and become a Legend, but this very rare. Truth of the matter is, most professional football athletes had their best performance during college because they wanted to make it in life, life in the NFL.

Now that you know what I think of about College & NFL players, I’ll go ahead and watch NFL Sunday with my buddies and drink beer, while handing out Koozies of my favorite team, the Houston Texans.

Folks, Thanksgiving came and Thanksgiving went!  Did it not just fly by?  It seems like just yesterday Kooziez.com was helping people prepare for the 4th of July and now we are shoveling snow!  Crazy how time flies by when you are having fun – huh?

Well – people often say custom koozies are only for summer time parties and holidays – well guess what folks you are wrong.  Just like a koozie can keep your beverage cold it can also keep your beverage warm – eggnog anyone?

So – before you count out kooziez.com until next spring – take a second and browse around Koozies are for all seasons – not just Summer time!  Even though a cold beer on a warm summer day does sound very tempting right now.

There really are no surprises as the NFL Season is going into the last quarter.  Unfortunately my Super Bowl picks look to be in trouble.  See comments below.

1. The Packers just find ways to win and it they do it against other Teams best. I do not think they will go undefeated – but I am not sure who is going to beat them.

2. My picks are in trouble.  I have the Lions and the Texans in the Superbowl.  Suh is going to be suspended for at least 2 games and the Teams are on there third string quarterback… Not good – but I guess that is how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

3. The Ravens and the 49ers defense are for real – but they are going to have to jump start their horrible offensives if they want to make a play-off run.

4. Koozies are still the best thing to put on your beer when you are watching the big game.

Last Night – John Stewart of the infamous daily show – gave it to Herman Cain.  Cain, after starting fast with his 9-9-9 plan has begun to fail and fail hard.  He has been accused of sexual assault by at least 5 women – it might be more now, but last I checked it was 5 women.

And then came the most recent gaffe (which I am sure Rick Perry is happy with as it draws attention off him) whereby you basically proved you did not know what was going on in Libya – not even people who print koozies are that ignorant – like me .  For those who live under a rock and read absolutely no source of news then you may not know Libya had a civil uprising where they ousted their dictator and beat him mercilessly on youtube… but those running for president should know this.  Cain – Buddy, no one wants Mitt – all you need to do is not mess it up… Stop and or Start talking!!!

Guys, it is a slow news cycle when you see me writing about Kris and Kim Humphries… I mean, do we not have something better to write about?  Like say a diet plan designed by Kris…

Well, since I really do not want to write about Herman Cain and his sexual conquests, or should I say alleged sexual conquests, and I do not want to write about football (because even I get tired of football every now and then), so it is literally down to koozies, diet plans, and celebrity divorces… May God help me, or better said, may God help us all.

On another note, I watched Wolverine for the first time last night, I must say it was rather interesting and I did enjoy Hugh Jackman and the character he played.  I am generally not into the superhero comic book thing but all in all – I have to give it at least one thumb up…

Week 9 Comes to an End – The NFL Playoff Picture is Beginning to Take Shape

So, How about them apples?

Yep as usual, as the NFL season goes deeper – the drama gets better.  The NFL playoff picture is beginning to take shape and I have a few comments.

1.. The Packers will not win the superbowl… I am telling everyone this right now – right it down, take it to the bank, do whatever you want to with them information.  They will run into a team in the playoffs that actually plays defense and get lit up.  Wait and see what the Lions have in store for them…

2.  The Bengals will not make the play-offs. I know everyone is on the Andy Dalton train – but that train is going to get a rude awakening when the play the Ravens and Steelers in the coming weeks.  They will finish 8-8 but still better than anyone would have thought.

3.  The Raiders will rebound.  Give them time, let McFadden come back and they will be up in there like koozies.

4. The Pats will lose a wild card game.

5. The Jets will choke -

6. The Texans or Ravens will represent the AFC.

Every now and then even I get tired of printing koozies… I know it is hard to believe as I am a Koozie lover that loves my job, my customers, my koozies, and my fans but yep – I am sometimes of work.  So what are my escapes – well a simple one is to sit down on the couch crack a cold one, put on the game and enjoy my cold beer with my custom koozie.

The other way is a little more complex but nevertheless an important one – often the most important one if you want a complete recharge.  That is to take a trip, leave the city, forget about the office, try a new beer and turn off the cell phone.  I am about to go on one of these trips and cannot wait – I am so excited to escape, even if it is just for a little while…
