Kore Philosophy

Episode News:
We’re really excited to be able to release this episode finally. The original recording had more than 20 hours of footage across two separate days when we were still learning. You will notice a hiss in the background. This was our first recording with a mixer instead of splicing 1/8? jacks together, so not only were we still learning how to use the mixer, we didn’t realize that it sucked. We’ve since purchased a better mixer, so when we’re not recording over Skype, we’re sounding much better.

This show was edited down to < 2 hours and bloopers are placed on the end of the episode. We don’t see the need for the extras feed, so it may podfade, but it’ll stay where it is because new listeners may show up in a month or year and want to hear the extras.

Part of the edit down to < 2 hours involved cutting all but the introduction and topic segments. This was edited in the fashion that all future Kore Philosophy episodes will be edited.

Thanks for coming back and downloading episode 2! The quality improved a bit but when the conversation was levelated, it offered an annoying buzz in the background, you may hear it a bit in this unlevelated version. Walt caught the problem and is recording differently for episode 3 in effort to make the quality better.

You can look forward to hearing Curt “The Camera Guy” Arndt in some future episodes if a few technical hurdles can be figured out, but in this episode’s show notes, you’ll see a very lengthy and well-written letter Curt wrote to us with some great points. We’re really looking forward to him lending his voice to Kore Philosophy, making our show even better!

We introduce Ben in this episode, a great friend of Walt and Jonsey’s. Ben has a background in broadcast, just like Walt and it really shows in this episode.

Welcome to Kore New Media’s first podcast, Kore Philosophy! Thanks for downloading episode 1! Forgive the quality as we learn about recording & podcasting. This episode was recorded over Skype, so the quality wasn’t all that impressive to us, but we’ve purchased new equipment (mixer, mics, etc.) and the quality will improve over the next couple episodes.

Edit 2008 May 21: When Kore Philosophy first started, it didn’t have a proper direction. As this particular show evolved, it became topic only, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the first few episodes where you’ll see where we got the start for many of our other shows!
