The Tamworth 10k was voted 4th best 10k in the UK by Runners World in 2013 as its scenic but mainly flat 5k loop course takes in some of the town’s best scenery with its start and finish set in the popular Castle Grounds leisure facility with its gardens, sports amenities, walkways, and café.

Directions…

• Tamworth Castle Pleasure Grounds: The Holloway, Lady Bank, Tamworth B79 7NA, GB from M42 Junction 10 (Tamworth Services) take the A5 North to Tamworth A51 Junction. At Ventura retail Park go straight on at the roundabout towards the town centre and Follow the event signs. From the A38 take the A5 South to Tamworth A51 Junction. At Ventura Retail Park go straight on at the first roundabout and follow event signs.
• Public Transportation: Nearest railway station – Tamworth. Tamworth station is well served by trains from London and the north-west with London Midland. Book online at http://www.londonmidland.com and you’ll pay no booking fees or postage. The station is just a 10-minute walk from the castle.
• Parking: There are a number of car parks in Tamworth town centre. The brown Tamworth castle signs direct drivers to the Jolly Sailor car park. This is a large long stay car park with coach park facilities. It is a short 5-7 minute walk through the castle grounds to the castle. The short stay Holloway car park is a smaller car park but closer to the castle, it is located on Silver Street. Please use these car parks and do not park on the local streets. Some parking is free and some is pay and display so the advice is check the signage before you leave your car!!!

Thank you to all runners that took part in the 27th Florette Fradley 10k. We had perfect running weather to start the morning for our 27th anniversary race (first held in 1999). An incredible turnout of over 1150 runners since for this ever popular 10k road race.

It was lovely to see great spectator numbers from friends, family and villagers alike. We had an especially good turnout from Fradley village residents.

A big Thank You for the support from Fradley Parish Council.

In perfect running conditions, and with the rain staying away as the winner and 1st Male, Thomas Aldridge of Rugeley Runners crossed the finish line in a time of 32.27, closely followed by Bruce McLaren of Black Pear Joggers in 2nd place in a time of 32.50 and Brychan Price Davies in 3rd place with a time of 33.13.

The first female across the line was Hayley Mortiboys from Tipton Harriers in a time of 36.38 and with an overall finish position of 26th, next was Chloe Richardson in 38.36, and in 3rd place was Olivia Harris in a time of 39.38.

Thank you to all our runners you’re amazing, and a special thank you to our wonderful sponsor at Florette for their support again this year, and the best goody bags KP events and runners alike have ever seen. Great to see Team Florette runners having a great morning.

2.5K Festive Fun Run — walk, stroll, skip or dash!

We’ve got a special surprise guest star joining us to open the Dash – someone children and families will love!

Everyone taking part will receive a Santa hat – and in the spirit of kindness, we’re asking each participant to bring a woolly hat, scarf or gloves.

All donated items will go to Crisis and local projects that support people and families living with disadvantage or homelessness in our community this Christmas.

Proudly organised by The Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation in partnership with Liberty Jamboree – helping to spread kindness across Lichfield and beyond.
