Step 2
Add choreography and expression to your performance. Just a few hand motions or gestures along with facial expressions can make you stand out next to a person who just stands still and sings. Remember, you are there to wow the judges… and you need to give them a performance to remember. It doesn’t have to be your own routine. It’s probably better that way. You can do just as good by using a routine from a suitable music video. Remember, it is not the routine or the song that matters the most. It is the performance.

Step 3
Practice the performance singing with choreography as much as possible. Once the vocals and choreography are memorized, try to arrange at least one practice in front of an audience. Ask a few friends or family members to be your audience and or critics. A vocal coach who can give advice for any necessary improvements is ideal. Many people use Singorama to help improve thier chances at a Kpop audition.

Step 4
Choose the right outfit. The clothes should also match the genre of music or the event for which the singer is auditioning. They should be stylish, comfortable and fit well. Also, wear stylish comfortable shoes. For women, jewelry and other accessories are a plus. For men, try to wear something dapper. the pants around your ankles are on the way out. Look at CN Blue for example. They look dapper.

Step 5
Prepare a bio card and resume to give the people holding the audition. The bio card should be 5 x 7″, and have your photo, plus your age, height, eye color hair color and dress or pants size listed at the bottom. You can google this and find some examples. This is Key to have the judges remember you. You need this in addition to the written application that companies like JYP Entertainment or SM Entertainment will have you fill out.

Step 6
Have fun! Don’t stress yourself too much over the audition. It is not the end of the world if you don’t make it that time. It justmeans that you need to practice more.

Tip: Just because you think that you are a good singer does not mean that you are a good singer. Just because your friends tell you that you are a good singer, it does not mean that you are. They may not want to hurt your feeling s with the truth. If you are serious about a singing career you need to spend some money. How much does a doctor spend on medical school? A lawyer on law school? You should be no different. You MUST find a vocal coach to help you.

Your voice box is a set of 2 muscles that relax and tighten to produce sounds when air is pased in between them. Just like any muscle, they need to be excercised in order to become in shape. Anyone can excercise… and everyone can learn to sing. It just takes the right coach. Programs such as Singorama are there to help guide you sing on pithc and on key consistently. If you are serious about success… you MUST look into this program. Consider it an investment in your future.

In addition, Korean movies such as “Shiri” and “Joint Security Zones” (commonly known as “JSA”) has attracted many Japanese spectators, which has led many Koreans to be more proud of their national popular culture, because Japanese popular culture had been recognized in most Asian societies hitherto.

In the early 2000s after the Asian crisis of 1997, the Korean government began to target the export of Korean popular culture as a new economic initiative. President Kim Dae-jung (inaugurated in 1998), who was called informally the Chairman of Culture, established the Basic Law for Promoting Cultural Industries in 1999 by allocating $ 148.5 million to project.

Increasingly throughout Asia have chosen to watch Korean movies, music Korean People follow the Korean soap operas, and even travel to Korea to visit sites they have seen in their favorite Korean dramas. The sudden rise in popularity and spread of Korean pop culture across Asia is new, unprecedented, and fascinating. This cultural flows in Asia today is called the “Korean Wave.”

The Korean wave has become popular in the discourse in Asian countries and beyond. Many academics and journalists have written about in academic journals, newspaper columns and magazine articles, highlighting the reasons for the emergence of Korean popular culture as a force throughout Asia and speculating its potential influence on the future of the region. Obviously, as a similar product to consumers’ own cultural products, the Korean Wave provides Asians with the assurance that even in a world of increasingly globalized Asian identity remains strong. In Korea, as scholarly and popular articles have discussed the influence of the Korean Wave in Korean society, argued the superiority of Korean culture as compared to other Asian cultures, and noted positive reactions to Asian companies Korean popular culture in newspapers, television documentaries, and elsewhere.

The Korean Wave is a subject of debate and doubt from many angles. Many observers believe he can not sustain its popularity and insist that the producers and artists will not be able to meet demand for innovative products necessary to continue to attract an Asian public. Indeed, some argue that its popularity is already melted and no more Asian fans as much interest. Some decry the quality of Korean popular culture, which, they spread only as a replacement affordable products for the Japanese pop culture after the sudden economic collapse of 1990.

Although there have been discussions pessimistic about the Korean Wave in Asian countries, the presence of Korean popular culture has become increasingly evident in Taiwan and among Asians living abroad. During several visits to Taiwan between 1999 and 2006, I saw dramatic changes in people’s attitudes toward Korean popular culture and the increasing presence of Korean popular culture in Taiwan.

In addition, as a Korean living in Europe, I often notice the growing consumption of Korean popular culture among Asians abroad. There are active exchanges of Korean popular culture, such as sharing DVDs Korean TV series and purchase many DVDs Korean abroad whenever Asians returning to their countries of origin. In this essay, I discuss how the Korean Wave has started and why it spread in contemporary Asian society.

This document is mainly based on the research I did in Taipei, Taiwan and Vienna, Austria since 2001. My analysis is based on opinions expressed by Asians in Taiwan and abroad, including Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and the Philippines, through interviews and research on new pages Web and academic journals.

1. you need to sing and dance as large as those of Korean idol groups today ..

2. You must also have very nice and most importantly, a good attitude and perseverance.

3. Of course, you enter the Korean industry .. pop and you must be good at speaking Korean .. much better if you know other languages like English in particular, Chinese, Japanese. For example, U-KISS Xander does not speak Korean very well because he grew up in other countries, but he knows seven languages, .. which is a factor for him .. Knowing lots of language.

4. Well anyway be linguistic case does not work more. As long as you have talent .. go!

They have a contract. Sometimes, most of them are not allowed to have girlfriends and buddies under the contract. Well, expect that you will be really famous among the community kpop!

Well regarding the studies, of course you need to know the Korean language, or at least know how the conversation .. Korean, which means that you CAN talk to a Korean. Can we really speak of a language with Korean Korean right? Well, if yes .. good for you. But if youre just not good enough. You can take courses Korean there. Over the past decade, J-pop has steadily gained fans worldwide through video games and anime. Many video game fans to import games from Japan, well before they are released in their respective countries. The theme songs and soundtracks of the games and anime can be a gateway to more interest in the kinds of J-pop and other Japanese music. His single “Easy Breezy” was also used to promote the Nintendo DS. The Ouendan series and Brothers Band for DS both function of many songs from J-Pop. Pop duo Puffy, a Japanese acts who have put their equipment on the market of the United States, had their own animated series on Cartoon Network, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, which premiered in 2004 and lasted three seasons. Before that, the duo had recorded the theme song to the other comics of the same channel, Teen Titans. Due to the success of their show clips Puffy, who are known as Puffy AmiYumi in the U.S. have repeatedly shown during programming of the channel.

The origin of the modern J-pop is said to be the Japanese rock inspired by The Beatles. Kay?kyoku Unlike the Japanese genre of music called J-pop uses a particular type of pronunciation, which is similar to the English language. The South Korean pop music scene soon had several genres: Boy or girl bands whose appeal lay mostly in their appearance; a technically difficult, older genre that had its roots in the colonial period and was popular with older Koreans; and the often amateur acoustic guitar singer-songwriters, who became popular in the 1960s and sang in a simple vocal style. In 1970s, rock music was introduced into South Korea, mainly popularized by Cho Yong Pil. Trot, pop music inspired by Japanese-styled music, also became a main genre in pop music.

The debut of the group Seo Taiji and Boys in 1992 marked a turning point in South Korean popular music, as the group incorporated elements of American popular musical genres such as rap, rock, and techno into its music, which brought a decrease in the popularity of trot. The tremendous success of Seo Taiji and Boys in South Korea and other experimental groups, such as Panic, set the trend for the present generation of K-pop groups and artists. Dance-oriented acts became dominant in the South Korean popular music scene of the early 90s including the legendary hip hop duo Deux. The mid-90′s marked the emergence of teen idol groups, creating a different trend in the music scenes. Groups such as H.O.T., Sechs Kies, Shinhwa, S.E.S., g.o.d. and Fin.K.L became extremely popular, having strong fanbases and high-selling albums (with some groups having a “million seller”, an album selling over one million copies). Starting with the break-up of Sechs Kies in 2000, however, most of these groups have since disbanded. Although some artists have continued their successes in the following decade, new groups have since taken their places.

Currently, in the 2000s, pop groups are still very popular although there has been an emergence of South Korean R&B and Hip-Hop: artists such as MC Mong, 1TYM, Jinusean, and Epik High have proven successful. Underground artists such as Drunken Tiger, Tasha (Yoon Mi Rae) have also helped hip-Hop become mainstream. Recently, rock music has become noticed by the public, with acts such as the Yoon Do Hyun Band and Seo Taiji gaining national recognition. In addition, there are also popular techno/dance artists such as Lee Jung Hyun, Kim Hyun Jung, and Yoo Seung Jun, whom all had very long careers while remaining firmly entrenched in their genre of music. Just as well, ballads and R&B have remained popular, as singers such as Baek Ji Young and KCM, in addition to SG Wannabe, have continued their success for many years.

There are also many artists who have had international success as well. BoA has become the highest-selling international artist from South Korea, due to her strength in the J-pop market[citation needed]; this was in part due to Lee Soo Man’s adaptation of the Blue Ocean Strategy. Since then, artists such as Rain and Se7en have also released albums outside of South Korea, becoming well-known throughout Eastern Asia. Rain has also had his international Rainy Day 2005 Tour, having tour dates at Madison Square Garden, the first South Korean star to do so. He has been recently featured two Hollywood films, Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin. He was also voted “Your #1 Influential Person in the World 2007″ by a TIME Magazine online survey.

Kim Bum Soo is the first South Korean artist to reach the U.S. Billboard chart and ranked as 51 on the Hot 100 chart in 2001.[citation needed] After that, solo female artist, mink and Korean-American group, S.Blush also reached the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts, where they ranked #1 in 2006 and #2 in 2007 respectively. Skull, a Korean reggae artist from YG Entertainment also ranked as #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales and #14 Hot Singles Sales in 2007. Se7en who is also from YG Entertainment, BoA from SM Entertainment and Rain from JYP Entertainment are all currently concentrating on their U.S. debuts. Although Wonder Girls became first K-pop artist to have a song reach the Billboard Hot 100, there has yet to be a prominent, successful K-pop artist in the American music industry

K-pop is similar to American pop music, with R&B, dance, and hip-hop being very popular genres in the 2000s. However, unlike American pop music, which had most of its boy bands and girl groups either break up or informally disband, bubblegum pop is still very popular in South Korea. Groups such as TVXQ,Big Bang, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, SS501, Girls’ Generation, 2PM and continue to be top sellers in K-pop, and artists like Ahyoomee and LPG have released novelty songs, to varying degrees of success. However, the 2000s has seen the rise of R&B vocal groups, such as SG Wannabe, Davichi and SeeYa having success with their albums. Ballads are also very popular, as 2006 has seen the release of ballad singles by non-ballad artists, including Shinhwa and Baek Ji Young. In addition, trot music has made a comeback in mainstream K-pop as well, mostly due to the success of Jang Yoon Jung and Park Hyun Bin. The year 2007 was marked with the release of numerous girl and boy bands, though only a few managed to top the charts. Despite new bands debuting, physical sales for CDs have become increasingly low, due to the stagnation of the K-pop industry. The highest selling album of 2007 did not even reach the 200,000 mark with only 190,998 copies sold.

The beginning of 2008 saw the rise of electronica dominance in the K-pop scene, influenced by the release of Big Bang’s mini-album Always, which heavily featured the genre.Other artists also followed the trend, such as Jewelry for their song “One More Time” and Brown Eyed Girls for “L.O.V.E.” Even artists that release music in other genres have released electronica-influenced albums to suit the current trends, including Epik High, Gummy, Clazziquai, and Lee Seung-cheol.

Don’t get me wrong, autotune is cool if you want to sound like T-Pain. However, it should not dominiate the song.

I have to admit, thier song “Good Girl Bad Girl” is quite catchy. We should see much more of them in the near future as they make thier rounds to the rest of the music shows, drama’s, variety shows… and all of the commercials that the kpop idols do.

On various online community sites, a recent photo was posted of of solo singer and former member of legendary K-pop group H.O.T, Tony An. The photo shows his current state while serving in the army and it’s garnering a lot of attention.

With only 80 days left until Tony An’s serving time in the army reaches an end, this photo portrayed him looking rather cute and young-looking despite his age of 32.

Netizens have responded:

“He’s still cool nonetheless”

In 2008, Tony An entered the ChoongNam NonSan military training center, and after serving there for 5 weeks, he has been serving in celebrity military affairs.

With BoA’s teaser for Woo Weekend being released a couple weeks ago, the full music video was released recently through MTV Japan.

The theme focuses on a retro-style based from the 80’s, and was created for the 25th anniversary of “Disney on Ice” in Japan. BoA can be seen dancing to a clean, unique choreography that really fits with the song.

The boys of Super Junior have just released their 4th repackaged album and here’s some goodies from the album.

The MV for No Other should be out soon so keep an eye out for it and the boys will be performing on the July 2nd edition of Music Bank.

2PM’s Ok Taecyeon transformed into ‘Ok Dooly‘?

For those of you who are wondering who Dooly is, he’s a cute green dinosaur created by Soo Jung Kim from the popular Korean cartoon Bo-Mool Sum (Treasure Island).

Taecyeon posted a photo onto his Twitter of his selca while strolling along the streets and striking the Dooly trademark expression with his puffed up cheeks and unevenly opened eyes, further expressing his face in response to the intense hot weather.

Along with the photo, he put up the words, “I was taking a stroll, it’s finally summer now~ I’ll be careful not to suffer from the heat!”

Still dorky as ever. Netizens have commented, “Cute~”, “Be careful of the heat”, “You were like that on the street?”

2AM’s Jo Kwon recently posted two photos onto his mini homepage taken with 2PM’s Junho!

In the first photo, their masculinity and charismatic and electrifying stares are left untouched. However, the second photo does a total 180 degrees turn as Junho suddenly has entire left harm up and in locked position to flick Jo Kwon’s forehead, while Jo Kwon is trying to lean away from Junho.

Along with the latter photo, Jo Kwon added some more fun to this comical photo with the face off comment, “?? (What do you think you’re doing?).”

Netizens have humorously commented, “What does he think he’s doing? Junho, put your hand down”, “Jo Kwon flinched”, “Jo Kwon do the same thing as Junho.”

Actress Goo Hye Sun recently posted a photo on her mini homepage and it’s sparking a lot of laughs.

The photo shows her current condition as she posed with her mouth open and her tongue sticking out, portraying a weary look. Along with the photo, Goo Hye Sun didn’t forget to publicize the movie that she personally directed, Magic, and expressed, “I’m in slight pain. Huff huff.”

Having been busy lately filming and publicizing the movie, her schedule has been packed thus making her very exhausted and her current condition clearly shows in this photo albeit with a comical expression on her face.

Having revealed their faces earlier this month, it was revealed that the newest boy group, Teen Top will be making their official debut in July, with their title track, Clap.

Even before their debut, they’ve been garnering attention from many for starring in their own reality show airing on MTV called Vice Guide to Everything. The program will chart the boys in-depth training program and will give an in depth look into the Korean system of grooming their idol groups. The program was recorded in April and is scheduled for broadcast this September.

In addition, one of the 6 members who are all in their teens was discovered to have starred in Seo Taiji’s Human Dream MV in 2008 and is called Ricky.

Yet another lawsuit was filed by three members of TVXQ. This time it is worth ~$25 million.

It has been reported that three members of TVXQ (Hero Jae-Joong, Micky Yoo-Chun, Xiah Jun-Soo) filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment. The members claimed that SM Entertainment profited off from their exclusive contracts that were illegal and therefore had to return all of their profits that SM had received during the contract term. The members are suing SM Entertainment for total of ~$25 million in damage.

Last December, there were hundreds of news articles in Korea all claiming that actor So Ji-Sub and actress Han Ji-Min will soon be married. So far, the marriage has not had happened and  So Ji-Sub had finally decided to speak regarding the rumor, after six months since beginning of the rumor.

So Ji-Sub said, “I was both surprised and shocked by the rumor. I didn’t know where the rumor had started and didn’t know how to response. I think it was worse for Han Ji-Min because she was an actress. I was close with Han Ji-Min before but now we don’t keep contact with each other.”

So Ji-Sub continued, “My last love was right after I had finished my military service. After it, there were temporary ones but quickly went away because I was so busy with work. I want to love with passion as my charater did in the drama Road Number One.”

Jang Geun-Suk and Park Shin-Hye were part of successful fan meetings held at Japan Shibuya on June 26th. The fan meetings were held at 2PM and 6PM and they were sponsored by AVEX. It has been told that all 4,000 tickets were sold out 5 minutes after it began selling its tickets and many fans had to look for secondary ticket sellers to buy the tickets, demonstrating how popular the drama You’re Beautiful was in Japan.

Here is a dirty little anecdote for you if you get caught hit-and-run in Korea: run, run, and run!

The police on June 26th revealed that Kwon Sang-Woo will not be charged with hit-and-run suspicion. That is because there wasn’t any damage conflicted to a human. The police stated that in Korea, hit-and-run is only charged when there is damage done to other people and Kwon Sang-Woo only did damage to non-human objects.

Also, Kwon Sang-Woo initially claimed that his manager was the one who was driving but at the final testimony revealed that he was the one who was driving, and therefore he will not be charged with lying either.

Many netizens are outraged by police’s decision saying that next time you get caught hit-and-run, you should run. However, it has been told that the Korean police is not giving him special privilege in this case and Kwon Sang-Woo just simply found a loophole.

As each day goes by, we get closer to the release of Big Bang’s Taeyang upcoming first full length SOLAR album. YG Entertainment plans to release minute long audio samples of Taeyang’s tracks for six days until the 30th, with the album dropping on July 1st.

South Korea’s second largest conglomerate, LG, recently released a new android powered smart phone called the LG Optimus GT540. This new phone was recently introduced to Singapore and popular actor Lee Minho has signed up to be an endorser for the phone.

Lee Minho is scheduled to be in Singapore on July 31st for a special fan meeting at the new $5.7 billion Marina Bay Sands resort, a place befitting for someone like Goo Jun Pyo. The first 1,500 purchasers of the LG Optimus GT540 will receive two tickets to this special event. If you’re lucky, Singaporeans may even get a chance to see Lee Minho swimming at the amazing infinity pool.

Ironically, Lee Minho’s on-screen girlfriend Goo Hye Sun from Boys Over Flowers is endorsing an android device herself.

On the recent episode of Fantasy Match – Love Class, Super Junior’s Sungmin appeared where it was revealed that it’s difficult for him to get a girlfriend because of his one piece dress. That thought is a bit feminine but Sungmin redeemed himself with masculinity by turning into Donatello and showing off his martial arts skill with the bo (staff).
