Google is in mood to provide us show timings of movies in theater near by you. Major of Indian cities are covered.

You can have movie show timings for today, tomorrow, Friday  and Saturday. In example Ahmedabad movies show timings are shown.

You can short theater/movie by Cinema distance – Film popularity – Film rating – Film title.

Google Movies can be accessed by: http://www.google.co.in/movies

Hope in near feature we will be able to check movie seats availability and ticket booking too. Great going Google !

You can use same logic as below in any programming language but here I am explaining it for VB .Net

Big softwares use own update server because they have users like 100k or more. For smaller software we will just use a PHP file or simple text file.

Basically what we will do is we will put a text or php file on server. the file will have the current version number. If the version number is not matching that means your software have update, redirect user to update link.

To do this take a new form, add a web browser on it. Set webbrowser’s visible property to false.

Now on form load event set web browser to visit your txt file or send current version to a PHP file as query. e.g. update.php?ver=1.0

Where new version is version of current software, where you can use any variable or any defined version in software meta data.You can use webbrowser1 to navigate to new version instead of launching your download in system default browser.

In PHP file you have to process the query and send download file accordingly to the added web browser which is more advanced.

Now , just give a link to “Check for updates” in the menu of our software and load the created form using

Form1.Show()

Make design and working changes as per your taste, the method/logic will be same.

Tip: Use ProgressBar to make the download look more professional.

I am posting screenshots and complete review of New Orkut Interface.

Let’s have a look at home screen.

It has got same status update box as facebook though you can not link a document or image/video.

Below that dropdowns and profile,scrapbook and other links are there.

You can change the colour theme so easily from the colour boxes you can see on top below search, Let’s change it to some other colour.

Instead of recent visitors’ names you will see their display picture, so if one won’t have own image as display picture you will have to roll over mouse to see the name, which is a drawback.

You will have the same orkut- Google ads pushing down your friend list.

As you can see the docs colour get changed to pink, the background remains typical orkut blue colour, which is bad thing. Also chat gadget colour is same.

Here you can edit your profile information by just double clicking it or by clicking edit button, which will be loaded in same page.(The page won’t get reload) You will be able to put HTML, so you can put images in about me.

Your friend list and community list have got a vertical scrollbar, so you can see all the friends and communities at one from same place but they wont get loaded at once, they will be loaded when you will scroll for it. This doesn’t slow orkut.

Updates have been improved much. You can comment on friend’s status, photos even videos. Though it is not that much good as Facebook’s live feed.

You can expand or collapse all modules by +/- sign which is a good thing.

As I told you can add new apps to top menu drop down, which is similar to “+” of Facebook.Below that Orkut suggestions for friends will be there.

Below that what’s new section is there where you can see New friend requests, Community join pending requests and on top of all upcoming birthdays.

The communities homepage and forums are same, just change of fonts. Also settings panel etc are same. The search has got two options search in orkut and in web, search in web will load the query in Google in new tab/window.

The orkut is now my orkut beta, There you got another drop down menu on top logo.

My PTZ Are Wrong/My Friend Count Isn’t Right

Most accounts should now be displaying the correct PTZ and friend count. You
may have to clear the cache of your internet browser. Then close your browser.
Re-open it and log in again. If you’re still seeing the wrong PTZ and friend
count, our tech team is addressing these accounts. Let us know if you’re still
seeing the wrong friend count display by this time next week.

If you ever notice your PTZ not going up after logging in or answering the
current day’s Dailies question, in most cases, this is a temporary display
problem. Your PTZ are counted and accurate in our database. They should display
correctly soon. We’re expecting PTZ from today’s Daily to be credited sometime
after 3am.

We generally add any missed daily, login, or referral PTZ that are documented
in our database as earned but not displayed to all account balances in the days
leading into our PTZ Place replenishment – if not sooner.

There is also an issue right now with members that have the “Remember Me” box
checked on their Lockerz sign in page. There is a chance that your PTZ will not
register if this box is checked. For the time being, it’s best to uncheck that
box and manually enter your email and combination with each login.

Nobody Is Getting My Invites

Right now, it appears that our system is just overloaded and these invites
should find their way to your friends and family soon – just not as quickly as
we’d all like. Also investigating the high number of fraud invites is also
slowing us down. Please let us know if your friends still haven’t received
their invites by this time next week. They should also check their SPAM folders
too. In the meantime, some members have had better luck inviting their friends
through Facebook. That is an alternative option for you until our email invite
system is working better.

When Is The Next Re-Stock/Why Is Everything “Fresh Out”

There will be a Z-List Only Prize Redemption some time in November. We will
message Z-Listers on the day of the event (not before) on the Lockerz Hallway
and email. Everyone else will also be able to redeem before the end of
November. Check daily on the Hallway for updates as we have them. The Hallway

When Will The Full Site Launch

There should be an announcement soon about the full site launch. We were hoping
to have the full site launched this month but we’re delaying the launch for a
few weeks. We feel that we need to improve the functionality of our existing
site first.

You may have noticed the “Coming Soon” sections of the site. The shopping bag
is the channel where Lockerz members will be able to purchase the most coveted
fashion, accessory and consumer brands and earn PTZ doing so. The TV icon is
where members will be able to earn PTZ by watching videos, listening to new
music and playing games.

Members will earn PTZ every time they watch a new video or listen to a posted
song or try a new game for the first time. If you love it, you’ll earn even
more PTZ if you buy and download it from Lockerz. There will be 15+ ways to
earn PTZ at Lockerz and many more ways to use your PTZ as well. You can use
your PTZ to either redeem prizes or get some killer discounts at our online
store.

How Do I Get My Z-List T-Shirt

If you have been a Z-lister since before October 27, and if you provided your
shipping and shirt size information, your shirt has been shipped by October 30.
If you haven’t provided your shipping and size information, please submit that
information on your settings page within your Lockerz account.

Please make sure that your full name, shipping address, t-shirt size, and phone
number are filled out correctly in your account settings. Including your
country which can be selected in the drop down menu.

If you’re outside the U.S., we DEFINITELY need your phone number to ship a
t-shirt to you as it’s required by our shipping company.

In the ‘STATE’ field, if you don’t have a state (or Province) in your address,
please enter your two character COUNTRY CODE. Your order will not go through
without this field filled in. You can look up your country code in the
following link (http://www.theodora.com/country_digraphs.html) and enter it in
the State field.

It typically takes 14-21 days for U.S. Z-Listers to receive their t-shirt.
There is a 3-4 week wait for international shirts. Once we receive all of your
information we can generally ship your shirt within one week.

Do You Ship To My Country

We are now shipping PTZ Place prizes internationally to every country in the
drop down menu in account settings! All U.S. and global shipping is FREE!

Every package sent internationally will be labeled as a “gift.” This should
eliminate or significantly reduce any import duty or tax in the vast majority
of countries. However, Lockerz cannot be responsible for paying any further
fees or tariffs imposed by a recipient’s local government.

For our Brazil members, your country does not allow “gifts” to be shipped
without fees or tariffs. We are in the process of creating an alternative
shipping and distribution strategy for you to solve this problem. This will
delay your order by up to 21-30 days but it should be worth it!

PTZ Catch Game Problems

There are two glitches with the PTZ Catch game. Some members can’t get the game
to completely launch and others play the game but immediately lose any PTZ
earned from playing. We will be crediting any account affected by the glitch
where PTZ were lost with 25 PTZ within the next few weeks. Those that were
unable to play the game at all will have another opportunity to play. It may be
helpful if you make sure your browser is accepting cookies, clear your cache,
close your browser, reopen your browser, make sure you have the latest version
of Flash installed on your computer (http://get .adobe.com /flashplayer) and
try logging in again. The game should launch for you then if you haven’t been
able to play before.

Login/Display Problems

Please try the following steps if you haven’t already: 1) Please make sure your
browser is accepting cookies. 2) Clear your internet cache and close your

refreshes or attempts to login while the site was down.

Please let us know if you continue to have a problem accessing the site or
viewing parts of the site after taking the above steps. Our tech team can then
look into that issue. It would also be helpful to know what web browser you use
and what specific error messages you’re getting when you can’t sign in. But try
those basic suggestions first.

Can’t Reset My Password

Apparently our Password Reset process is broken right now. Our tech team has
identified a temporary fix but it’s a bit cumbersome. We will get back to you
very shortly to walk you through the temporary process. We’ll be able to get
back to you more quickly if you send us another email with “Password” in the
subject. That email would then be routed directly to our tech team who can
contact you and hopefully get you back on Lockerz soon!

Can’t Change My Email

There is an error message right now when members try to change their email
address in account settings. Again our tech team is working on this problem.

Status Of My Order

Everything is being processed, packed, and shipped from our warehouse. When
your item ships, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation which should provide
you with a target date of arrival and a tracking number. Sometimes the tracking
number might not be there but you can just email us here and we should be able
to look up the status of your order by next week. Our fulfillment center
updates us once a week on the status of orders.

Download links for the desktop backgrounds and electronic codes for the Amazon
Gift Cards will be emailed to you soon. Please let us know if you still haven’t
received these by the end of the week – especially if your PTZ have already
been deducted.

Can I Delete My Account

If you would like to delete your account, please email change@lockerz.com and
put “Delete” in the subject. We will only honor delete requests if they come
from the email address associated with the email address of the account in
question. Even though we will disable your account, we welcome you back at any
time in the future.

Can My Brothers, Sisters, or Parents Join?

Any member of your household can have their own individual Lockerz account with
a valid email address. Just as long as it’s one membership per person and it’s
a legitimate account created by that member and not you. So anyone in your
family can join in on the fun at Lockerz!

Now, keep in mind, we do monitor IP addresses for suspicious activity. If it’s
just a few family members there won’t be a problem. We usually recommend no
more than five accounts from one household or IP address. More accounts might
raise a red flag and cause your invites to be questioned.

As a part of that Facebook added a twitter like feature in feed to link your friends’ profile anywhere in Facebook. In twitter to link anyone’s twitter account we put @ and instead of plain text you will see link to the account, same in Facebook the linking is limited to the persons who are in your list or page/group of which you are a fan.

Facebook has named this feature as tagging. Unlike twitter if you copy paste a name with @ sign from somewhere the account wont get linked, you must have to type it or some portion of it and then choose a name from dropdown. Hope Facebook team will correct it someday. Also Facebook removes @symbol once it is linked and posted successfully.

Orkut introduced feature called “Promote” through which you can promote anything you want very easily and more attractive catchy way. The promote got a place above your homepage’s top 9 friends where you were able to see Google advertisements (remove ads). Every time you will refresh homepage combination of available promotes and advertisements will be shown.

You can create as many promotes you want to create, but content must be family viewable, should not be spam else orkut will ban you.

Promote works on many social network (friends’ network) levels. This means if your friends likes your promote they can promote it in their friends. So here you got more benefit. I can say if you get good number of promotes, you can get great benefit to your product selling or getting traffic to website.
