For most entrepreneurs, financing tends to be one of the biggest challenges when launching a new business. Even if you expect your start-up and monthly operating expenses to be minimal, it may still be challenging to find the money you need. If a traditional business loan isn’t an option, you might want to consider simpler financing options that you can create on your own.

For example:

Take a look at your assets. If you own things, you can sell them. Jewelry, rugs, furniture, time-shares or second properties are just a few examples.

What about your car? If you drive a nice, late-model car, you can sell it and lease a less expensive one without a down payment.

Borrow against your home. If you have established equity in your home, it should be very easy to borrow against it. Keep in mind though that once the loan begins, you’ll have monthly payments. Or, you may want to consider refinancing your mortgage with a new one.

Friends and family. Friends and family may be willing to support your business start-up. If you do chose this option for financing, be sure to put your agreement in writing so that it’s official and there aren’t any miscommunications that can cause a problem down the road.

Borrow Against Your Investments. If you plan to continue working full-time while you start your business, consider borrowing against your 401(k) or other retirement plan.

Consider a low interest credit card. Credit cards are a quick and easy method of funding your start-up and can help build business credit at the same time. You can start with deferred payments or a minimum monthly payment until your business starts to generate income.

Regardless of the financing option you chose, be responsible and keep your financial security at the forefront of your mind. If you’re determined to succeed at your new venture, investing in yourself is the way to go!

Cryogenics is the study of the properties of matter at very low temperatures. (The word is derived from the Greek kryos, meaning “icy cold.”) The highest temperature dealt with by cryogenics is about -100 degrees C (-148 degrees F), and the lowest is the absolute zero temperature of -273.15 degrees C (-459.67 degrees F). It is a fundamental theorem of thermodynamics that absolute zero can be approached but can never actually be reached. In cryogenic studies the standard practice is to express temperatures in the lowest range by using the Kelvin scale, with Celsius-size degrees but with absolute zero at 0 K.

History

The study of cryogenics began about 1877, when Swiss physicist Raoul Pictet and French engineer Louis Cailletet separately liquefied oxygen for the first time. Cailletet accidentally achieved this in his laboratory through an adiabatic expansion process, whereas Pictet used the cooling produced by the Joule-Thomson effect.

In 1883 a third cooling mechanism, known as cascading, was pioneered by Karol Olszewski and Zygmunt von Wroblewski in Poland, who were able to produce quantities of liquid oxygen by this method. The liquefaction of oxygen, which occurs at 90 K, was soon followed by the liquefaction of nitrogen at 77 K. In 1898 a British professor, James Dewar, who succeeded in liquefying hydrogen gas, achieved a major advance in cryogenics. Liquid hydrogen, which boils at 20 K, presented a severe handling and storage problem.

Dewar solved this problem by devising a double-walled vacuum storage vessel now known as the Dewar flask. Even the near-perfect vacuum of the Dewar flask, however, is not impervious to radiation heat transfer, although it prevents thermal conduction and convection. Other insulation schemes, involving expanded foam materials and layered radiation shields, have been developed. These methods are commonly employed in cryostats for storing and transporting liquefied gas.

Dutch physicist Heike Kamerlingh Onnes first liquefied helium, the most difficult gas to liquefy, in 1908. Two isotopes of liquid helium, (4)He and (3)He, boil at temperatures of 4.2 K and 3.2 K, respectively. With no substances more difficult than helium to be liquefied, further attempts at chilling involve special heat-absorption techniques, such as the demagnetization of paramagnetic salts. Such methods have produced temperatures down to about 40 millionths of a degree Kelvin above absolute zero, using sodium gas.

Superconductivity and Superfluidity

It had been known for many years that the electrical resistivity of metals decreases with falling temperatures. Nevertheless, many were surprised when Kamerlingh Onnes discovered in 1911 that the resistance of pure mercury undergoes a sharp drop just below liquid helium temperatures and then vanishes. The same phenomenon of superconductivity was subsequently observed in other metals. The enormous potential value of electricity flow when resistive losses are zero is demonstrated by the superconducting electromagnets used in particle accelerator and fusion energy research as well as in magnetic resonance imaging devices in hospitals.

Other fields of application include electronics, where high-speed cryogenic computer memories and communication devices are in various stages of research and development. The cost of attaining very low temperatures, however, must be weighed against the advantages obtained. Thus great interest has centered on materials that can achieve superconductivity at somewhat higher temperatures, since the first discovery of such materials in 1987.

Closely related to superconductivity is the phenomenon of Superfluidity observed with liquid helium. Helium cooled below 2.2 K becomes an elusive superfluid that runs uphill, escapes many solid containers, and generally defies the ordinary principles of fluid mechanics. Such spectacular effects occur because the superfluid displays essentially none of the viscous tendencies characteristic of common fluids. The explanation of these effects depends on quantum physics, rather than classical physics, and remains under intensive study.

Other Applications

Large-scale cryogenic operations are currently being used to transport energy in the form of liquefied natural gas. The processing, handling, and preservation of food by cryogenic means is a major industry, providing both frozen and freeze-dried foodstuffs. Other applications of modern cryogenics are in chemical synthesis and catalysis, gas separation, metals fabrication, and miscellaneous uses ranging from fire fighting to the drilling of oil wells.

Liquid hydrogen plays a role in high-energy physics studies and, along with liquid oxygen, powers rocket engines for space research. Present laboratory studies are directed toward characterizing material properties at cryogenic temperatures.

Related research in solid-state physics has shown a superconductivity effect in Organo-metallic compounds. Other research examines the phenomena of cryogenic heat transfer and boiling and explores the potential of low-temperature magnetohydrodynamics (MHD).

Each day there is something new to be learned. Science, technology and medicine are three industries that develop at a very rapid rate. They all impact our lives positively and are essential elements of our existence and daily survival. There are other fields of study that develop each day and present us with more and more information that help us in one way or another. So, the question “Why do people need information?” is one that many of us have been asking since the dawn of time. The long and short of it is that we all need knowledge, and for us to get knowledge we have to read and observe and gather information. Information is readily available to us through books (both online and offline), brochures, journals, newspapers, flyers, radio and television programs, and even our cellphones and tablets. The amount of information that is available on just about anything and everything can fill all the libraries in the world thousands of times over. Now that is a lot of information from which we can gain much needed knowledge.

But the fact of the matter is that we will never be able to read all the books and articles that are published in our lifetime due to the sheer volume that is available and the fact that more and more books are made each day. So try as you may, you will only be able to read a little bit on different topics or we may just have to concentrate on information relating to specific fields that are of interest to us. Even then, we may at some point become overwhelmed with the amount of information available. But suppose it is a situation where you do not have time to read a book or do a search online for information you need right now? Say, for example, your pet cat got sick overnight, the animal clinic is closed, and your vet is away on vacation, what do you do then? Or let’s say that you have a rash on your hand for a few days now and two different doctors give you two separate diagnoses. Where could you turn to for a third opinion? For answers to questions like those, and more, you can get instant help from Online Experts. They will be able to answer your questions that relate to pets, health, automobiles, homework, home improvement, law, tech support, and so on. This avenue saves you a lot of time you would have otherwise spent digging up the information you need yourself.

There are many people today who do not like to read much. They prefer if someone tells them what they need to know in simple and easy steps. If you are one of those people, or even if you do like reading but find yourself in a bind and looking for a book on what you need to know is almost impossible right then and there, getting your questions answered online is a quick way to find what you want. So, there are easy ways to access information, and then there are easier ways. Reading is the best way to gain information, so make sure you do that each day, and remember that if you need to know something right away, you can consult Online Experts who will be more than happy to assist you in resolving your issue.

With the cost of living rising daily and more and more expenses being added to our budget, making ends meet has become a daunting task for many of us. The job we may have now no longer pays enough to cover our expenses. Because of the state of the economy, millions of persons have been forced to take on extra jobs that aid in bringing in much needed extra cash. This at times leads to a lot less sleep for those persons and at times tends to raise stress levels. Many of these extra jobs are generally away from home and at times involve extensive traveling. Despite those odds, many have been able to find an extra job that allows them to remain at home, spend more time with their families, and get a good sleep at nights. It cuts out extra commuting and can be done at ones own leisure. The business of blogging is that extra job I am making reference to. The great thing about blogging is that when you blog you profit in many ways.

For one thing, blogging does not really take a lot out of you. Depending on what you blog about, you may need to do little, if any, research. Many people blog about things they do or are used to. Some blog on specific niches or they may blog on a number of niches. There is a large amount of persons who earn money blogging about interesting products and services. One of the easiest blogging jobs one can do now involves setting your prices per blog, choosing the advertisers you want to blog for, and start getting paid when the advertisers make their payments. Blogging is not a get rich system, so do not expect to become a millionaire overnight. What it is is a system that brings in some extra cash that helps to make ends meet. Of course, many persons have gone into full-time blogging, but most people still keep their present job and blog on the side. If you need some extra cash to pay your bills and make purchases, blogging is a nice work from home job that you should seriously consider embarking on.

There comes a time when we may write a PHP script for a program or website and then encode or encrypt it using a method that we are comfortable with. Some time later, maybe years in fact, we need to make changes to the script only to find out that we have somehow misplaced the original source code of the files. What do we do then? It would not be practical to try and re-write the entire source code from scratch since we may not remember all the elements that we added to the original script, and there may be hundreds of files to deal with. In such a case, you will need the services of a PHP decoder or decrypter. The service offered would simply involve you sending your file, or files, to the decrypter who would then decrypt them and send them back to you.

Some of the infamous forms of encryption that can be decrypted include Ioncube, Zend, PHPIon, CodeLock, PHP Lockit, Source Guardian, TrueBug, Zorex PHP Crypt, SourceCop, Byterun, Swyer PHP, PHP Cipher, CNCrypto, Kallisto, and Eugen. So if your file was encrypted using any of those encoders, you may be able to regain access to your source codes so that you can edit your files with ease. That being said, instead of giving yourself a headache as to what you are going to do if you cannot locate your original source code files, send them to a PHP decoder so that your files can be decoded and you can get on with updating your files from their original source code.

Let’s daydream for a minute.

Imagine that you’ve finally taken the entrepreneurial leap, left your 9-5 job in Corporate America and launched your own business. Your company is a tremendous success and, less than one year later you have more work than you can handle. You’re working 12-hour days and inevitably falling short somewhere. Doesn’t sound like a dream anymore, right?

I was faced with this situation several years ago after I started my Homeowner Referral Network (HRN) business. I launched Home Remedies of NY, Inc. from an old farm table in my basement with just a refurbished fax machine, computer and a phone line. And, after just one year in business, I had more work than I could handle. I was fielding calls from homeowners outside of my operating area, from contractors across Long Island who wanted me to represent them and from other entrepreneurs who were interested in partnering with me. After a few months of working 10-hour days, I was overwhelmed and had completely lost the work-life balance I had tried so hard to achieve.

My entrepreneurial mistake is not that uncommon. Many new business owners are so enthusiastic and passionate about their business that they become the core of it and ultimately, the business can’t operate without them.

Consider this scenario . . .

You’re a world-class baker and all of your friends and family are encouraging you to start your own baking business. After months of soul searching, you decide to fulfill your entrepreneurial dream. You leave your 9 to 5 job and set up shop as “Suzie’s Cupcakes”. After a few months in business, word catches on that your cupcakes are the best in town. Soon, you’re receiving orders for more cupcakes that you can make in a week, let alone a day. You’re in your kitchen at 5am and work ‘round the clock to fill the orders. While it may seem like you’re in the bakery business, you’re not. You’re in the business of “making cupcakes”.

Now, consider this scenario. Your cupcakes are a huge hit and there’s a line out the door. But, you’re not there. Why? Because you’ve documented your proprietary cupcake recipe, copyrighted it, trademarked your business name and the name of your world-class cupcake and now have a staff of people who work at your bakery and make them for you. You may now be out on the road promoting your products to other stores or maybe even consulting with people who want to launch franchises of your bakery because it’s been so successful. Or, maybe you’re just sitting on a beach relaxing somewhere with your family?

Why are these two scenarios so different? Because your business doesn’t rely exclusively on you anymore. You’ve duplicated yourself.

This is the basis of the franchise model and the solution I found for my own business. In order to expand my HRN and continue to maintain a work-life balance, I decided to “duplicate myself”.

When my HRN business took off, I was faced with two options:

Expand and try to handle all of the work on my own.

Expand by teaching others how to do what I do.

After evaluating both my options, I went with the second.

Over the course of several months, I met with attorneys and business consultants and set out to document my business model so that I could teach other entrepreneurs how to launch contractor referral businesses in neighboring communities. My plan was that, once they were up and running, I would refer work to them and share the contractor commission. That way, I would be able to satisfy the demand for my services in a larger market area without having to do all of the work on my own.

I tested the waters with a small ad in the Business Opportunity Classifieds section of The New York Times:

Home improvement contractor referral business. Investment $5K. For additional information, contact…

Within 2 weeks I had a list of 22 prospective HRN business owners!

Over the next 6 months, with the help of a friend from the Wharton Business School, I wrote The Complete Guide To Owning And Operating A Successful Homeowner Referral Network© which outlined every aspect of my business from my contractor screening process, commissions and invoicing to a market segmentation study, promotional campaigns, homeowner and contractor sample dialogues and liability issues. The process was beneficial to me personally because it forced me to analyze my company with a very critical eye and systemize all of my operating procedures that I had taken for granted.

In less than one year, the first HRN was up and running on Long Island and now–almost 15 years later–there are 300+ HRN’s like mine operating all over the country!

My business would have never achieved the level of success it has today if I hadn’t figured out how to duplicate myself. If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur who dreams of launching a business of your own, keep in mind that while passion may drive you to start your own business, creating a plan to duplicate yourself is what will help you sustain it.

Art is a fun past-time activity that many of us enjoy. From we were small, many of us liked to draw things like animals, plants, buildings, and so on. We weren’t all “great artists” but we know what it was we were drawing and no one could ever tell us that was not what we were drawing. Our art was plastered on the walls in our homes, the walls at school, on paper, or even on the ceiling. In any case, it was a fun time in our lives, our childhood. Today, our children are no different. They are always looking for ways to express themselves artistically. You can help them along this path by giving them their very own Art Easel. It’s an affordable way to let them express themselves somewhere other than on the walls or floor. It is easy to setup and lightweight. You can put it anywhere you desire, allowing your child or children to use it any time they wish.

Help them along the road to becoming great artists by giving them an Art Easel today. They will be happy you did!
