Jug Suraiya has an excellent article in the TOI which brings a very valid point. Our politicians are actually made by us. It is us who voted them to power and it is us who will probably vote them again into power as well.

Our political class as a whole is certainly condemnable: insufferably arrogant, flagrantly self-serving and utterly derelict in fulfilling its most basic duties and responsibilities to those who have voted it into existence. Which is us. And there lies the rub. In a democracy even a deeply flawed democracy likes ours where the ballot box should be renamed the bribery box we are as responsible for our political leaders as they are supposed to be for us but are not, as tragic evidence only too clearly shows.

Accountability, but at what cost?

Finally some accountability. But it has taken a terror drama as vivid as what happened in Mumbai for Mr. Shivraj Patil to spell out that he takes moral responsibility for all that has happened. I think he should address the nation and apologize for what has happened. Is it really not possible to instill a sense of responsibility in politicians? Is it the fact that nothing can be done to them for the 5 years they are in power which causes this? May be we will be better off, if capability decides who gets to be in the cabinet rather than loyalty.

After installing KDE 4.0, this is exactly what I felt! Looks like one needs to wait multiple releases before moving towards KDE4.Luckily Hardy Heron will have both KDE3.5 and KDE4 flavours to chose from.
