Chris and Jeff’s intimate Yosemite wedding at the Ahwahnee Lodge was a sweet and tight-knit affair. The 30 or so closest members of their family traveled from the Bay Area, Michigan and beyond to celebrate under the pines and that mammoth piece of granite known as Half Dome (which the couple climbed the day before their wedding). Not only are Chris and Jeff badass climbers and hikers, they have perfected the fine art of s’mores construction. Yes, these are my kind of people.

Getting work published is always an exciting thing but having an image appear in your favorite photography magazine is something else altogether. I am proud to report that one of my images was chosen to be featured in PDN Magazine’s New School Of Wedding Photography edition which should hit news stands this week. The image is from Sarah and Randy’s New Year’s Eve wedding at Wine and Roses. Bam!

San Francisco Wedding Photographer | Abby & Brad

I really enjoyed kicking sand with Abby and Brad during their engagement session in San Francisco a while back. During the session, I learned that Brad grew up on the border in South Texas which is where I cut my teeth as a professional photojournalist in 2003. It was really cool to talk about the border towns we lived in and to relive some of my memories there. I am photographing their wedding in Nevada City this summer and, while there won’t be sand to kick, I look forward to meeting up again in the mountains. See you guys soon(ish).

These are the people you don’t come across everyday, the Amys and Tims of the world. They are genuine and big-hearted and I count myself as privileged to have been present on their wedding day, cameras in tow. I am happy to know them and I hope these images give you a sense of their kindness.

Sarah and Randy traveled to Wine & Roses in Lodi, California (by way of Portland, Oregon) to celebrate their New Year’s Eve wedding with their nearest and dearest. This is one of my favorites.

On a related note, if you or someone you know is getting married in Washington, Oregon or coastal California, I am especially interested in photographing weddings in these locations and will consider picking up the travel tab to photograph your wedding. Some conditions apply so I hope you’ll get in touch to go over the details.

River Highlands Ranch Wedding Photography. Erin & Chuck

Back in August I photographed Erin and Chuck’s wedding at River Highlands Ranch near Grass Valley. They chose the venue because they wanted a country setting that would provide a contrast to their daily lives as San Franciscans where they live and work. They pulled off the amalgam flawlessly and by the end of the night, everyone was on their feet while Chuck went to work with his harmonica.
