Bubbles, Pinwheels and a beautiful girl!!

I rarely get to visit with my niece, so when she traveled to Florida to spend time with my folks, we got to visit and I took the opportunity of course to snap a few photos.  Who are we kidding, I took a plethora of photos!!  Don’t you love that word???  Anyway, it was so nice to see her and the beautiful lady she has become.  It reminded me of how quickly time really passes.  It was so nice to spend time with her!  

Took a bit, but finally got her laughing!

One of my favorites for sure!!

I saw these pinwheels and immediately thought of my brother (Sam’s dad).  Very grateful for his sacrifice and continued service in our U.S. Military!

It was November 2010, Fall Preview Day at BCF the day they met.  He had just finished his first year and she was a prospective student.  They were introduced by……her dad!!  It wasn’t long and John and Ashley became a couple!  He popped the question December 7, 2011 and the 472 day countdown to ‘THE WEDDING DAY’ began.

She knew what she wanted in a wedding from the get go.  She even gave me a very precise timeline for the wedding day, and even more impressive, except for getting held up by a little rain during pre-ceremony pictures, everything ran perfectly and on time!!  It is not hard to see the love they have for each other and the love their families have for them.  Her dad, who introduced them, had the privilege of giving her away and marrying them.  There were happy tears and lots of laughter.

Thank you Ashley and John for trusting me to document your special day.  The ease at which you both carried yourselves was truly delightful.  I know that this is just the beginning and wish you both much happiness and love!

Semisonic, Closing Time

I am very excited to be a part of a monthly photo quote project with some awesome photographers across the land.  Hopefully it will  get me shooting at home more and stretch my creative side.

Ok, so I  admit I have no idea who Semisonic is and had never heard this quote before.  After a little research, I found it actually originated from a mid-1st century AD Roman philosper named Seneca (yes, I was looking for inspiration!!).  I tried to dig deeper than the obvious, though I will represent that too, and stretch a bit to think outside the box.  Well, I am not sure I did that, but I did realize that there is a ‘new beginning’ I would like to strive for.  So………here you go…..

So this is fairly obvious, blooming flower from buds, and well, a spectacular beauty!!!  I have had these orchids for over 5 years and they are severely neglected (there I admit it) but somehow still bloom at least a couple times a year.

And this one, well…….need I say more?  (oh, and this beginning is beginning, ummmmm tomorrow:))
