But I love me some Christmas, so I persevere... and here's how I've been getting in the Christmassy spirit.


Holiday tunes - check. She & Him's Christmas album is a favourite, as is Brooke White's White Christmas - new fave!

Dorky patterned socks - check. I just really like penguins on skates, polar bears on sleds, and santas with candy canes, okay?

Chalk doodlings - check. (...la la la LA)

And... the mini tree with lotsa white, sparkle, and animals of course.

On that note, wishing you all a happy holiday with your friends, family and loved ones. I'm off to visit my family tomorrow and will be back in the new year!

I've been gettin' my doodle on over the past week determined that this year would FINALLY be the year I'd make my own holiday cards for friends + family. And I did. Horray!!

Handwritten Holiday Cards

 

I'm pretty please with how they turned out so this me channeling my inner elf to share my creations with you guys... since I like you and stuff. Here's the deets! There are 4 designs total that make cards sized 12 x 9 1/2 cm, which fit generously into A2 sized envelopes.

Put'em together with these supplies: 1. Card stock (I used plain white & kraft stock.) 2. Metal Ruler. 3. Cutting mat. 4. Blade. 5. Scorer. (P.S. If you don't have a scorer, the blunt side of a butter knife works well.)

 

Now, go print out the free templates! (Get yer scroll on to the bottom of this post for the download link.) And cut those bad boys out. Tip: Score the fold line of the cards before you get to slicin'... then you don't lose the centre fold mark. Tip No. 2: Only slice just past the crop marks, not to the edge of the paper. You don't want to end up with all of your sides snipped off and the crop marks gone too - then you won't know where to cut!

Handwritten Holiday Cards

Now the fun part... Fold, pen a little note to your buddies, stuff in a pretty envelope, and admire your handiwork. Easy peasy. (and made with love) Enjoy. I can't wait to give this out to friends and family.

... and break out the ole bunny ears and there ya have it. Unless piles of mini choco bar wrappers count as decorations? 'Cause I've got that covered, yo. best part of any holiday. Hands down.
Barring that, my October 31st is going to be filled with the following - I've got my candy, I've got my spooky tunes,*
I've got my ears... I'm a hippity hoppity happy little camper. How about you? Any crazy plans? In any case... HAPPY HAUNTING.
