A few details:

Pip is SO. MUCH. FUN. We are loving having him around! He loves to play with us, follow us around, eat with us, and sleep with us. He is obedient (for the most part), very friendly, sweet, and suddenly very vocal. He is meowing A LOT. When he can’t find us, he meows. When he is hungry, he meows. When he wants to play, he meows. When we leave the house, he meows (starting the SECOND we close the door). When he can’t remember where the litter box is and he has to go, he meows. It’s pretty cute now, but I need to figure out how to quiet him a bit because I know it’s going to get old really quick. :)

He is also such good company for me when I’m home alone. Kenny has been working away from Logan a couple days a week right now and it’s so nice to have Pip hanging around so I’m not all alone. It also gives me an excuse to take breaks from work to play with him.

Anyway. Pip is very fun. I adore him. And pretty sure he adores me too. :)

I love my job.

My two favorites:

We got a kitten!! Isn’t he CUUUUTE??? We are so in love with him.

We picked him up on Sunday and are having so much fun. Here is what we have learned about him so far:

- He LOVES to play. And sleep. His life pretty much revolves around those two things.

- He is a cuddler. He sleeps as close as possible to us and prefers to be right in front of our faces. Last night I woke up to him snuggled up in the curve by my neck. :) He also likes to bury himself in between blankets and the sheets on the bed.

- He worries if he can’t see one of us and meows until he tracks us down.

- He is brave! He adapted to his new home right away and has explored every inch of the house.

- He is all black except for one little white patch under his chin that looks like a bow-tie. I love it.

- He is intrigued by the iPad and tries to catch anything that is moving on it. This makes it really hard to watch anything. :)

- He pets us! He will lay down close to one of us, look us in the eyes, and reach out gently with his paw to touch our faces or arms.

By the way, Kenny insisted on a French name for him. So even though we call him Pip, his full name is Pépinot, from one of our favorite movies, The Chorus. :) But for some reason I find myself calling this cat not only Pip, but Pippers, Pippy, Pippo, and my favorite, Pip-squeak. I can’t help it! Look at this face!

We are in love. :)

We thought we had made the important decisions and the hard part of choosing was over. Going to law school at Notre Dame felt so right and good, so we moved forward with that, even though we were pretty sad to be wait-listed from UC Davis.

Then last week Kenny got an email saying that Davis had accepted him. We got the letter and packet in the mail two days later with a little handwritten note from the dean that said “Come to Davis, Kenneth!”

Ugh. That was the first reaction from both of us. Although I think Kenny’s reaction might have included a swear word. :) The thing we wanted to happen more than anything finally happened. . . so why were we upset by it? Over the last few days we have talked the situation up and down and over and over, trying to justify why we might be able to make Davis work, even though all of our plans have been settled for Notre Dame and it felt so right. We questioned ourselves and tried to figure out what it all meant and what to choose.

But Notre Dame still feels right. And it’s been me pushing that even more than Kenny, which I would NEVER have thought would be the case. :) When I think of going to Davis, I feel fear more than anything else. When I think of Notre Dame, I feel at ease and calm.

So it’s been an interesting twist. :) But after a week of lots of unsure feelings and questioning ourselves, we realized that we already made the right decision and we just need to trust ourselves and the answers we’ve already received. And I’m so grateful for the guidance in making this decision and the calm that comes from knowing we’re doing the right thing.

Remember how we are supposed to move out of our house at the end of the month? Well the other night as Kenny and I laid in bed, I suddenly realized that I wasn’t ready quite yet. I am in love with this house and it hurts my heart a little bit to leave. I thought I was ready but I’m not. So. . . we are staying an extra couple of weeks!

Speaking of things changing, I only have two more days of work next week. TWO MORE DAYS of working where I’ve been for three years, where I’m comfortable, where I actually kind of like to be these days. I never would have expected to feel a little bit sad to be finished. I am pretty thrilled to be a FULL-time photographer though. :)

This weekend we have exciting things happening. Tomorrow Kenny is running the Ogden marathon! This is his fifth one and since the last time he ran the Ogden one he was two minutes away from qualifying for Boston, we’re hoping he beats that this time. Not that he’d run the Boston marathon, but just because that’s awesome. :) ALSO we are bringing something home on Sunday that we’ve been waiting and waiting for. . . but you’ll hear about that next week!

The Providence reception:

Another week, another iPhone self portrait. :) Ha! I mentioned last week how crazy busy things were — well, things were even crazier than I anticipated. A full time schedule at work, plus a full load of photography work to be doing, plus two portrait sessions, plus back to back weddings over the weekend and two separate trips to Centerville. Plus Kenny started his new (exhausting) job in Coalville so I didn’t see him for four and half days which was the WORST!

Needless to say, we both needed a break. So today. . . we are catching up. On sleep, time with each other, and time to relax and take a break from the stress. We declared that nothing productive was allowed to be done today and that life can begin again tomorrow.

Sometimes, you just a need a day off. :)

Really really busy. Which means that all I have time for this project right now is a grainy iPhone self portrait. :)

I’m spending lots of time in front of my computer editing and editing and editing (1.5 weddings and 4 portrait sessions to go!). Plus I took a bunch of extra shifts at work this week for a co-worker on vacation (I thought we could use the extra money). Plus we’re trying to cram in as much social time with our friends before we move (in THREE weeks). Plus I got Kenny’s sickness (it was inevitable).
