The Runaway

An exciting scene on a muddy Saratoga morning. A Thoroughbred has grabbed the bit and won't stop for his rider (right) and the pony girl and her horse (left) have sprinted out to catch them. I was so impressed with the pony - he went from standing quietly to a flat-out gallop in seconds. No horses or riders were injured.

#2 for a while on Explore and FP too for a few hours!! A big thanks!!

The last to leave the studio!! I was kind of bored waiting for the last transfer of a P2 card.. so what else could i do!? A HDR of course!!
This one from 11 photos. Yes 11!! : )
Not going for a dramatic, tonemapped, painting look at all for this one.
But it's a very high dynamic range image although natural looking!!

I haven't done a lot of indoor HDR but i really like it and might wanna try a couple more soon.
Sorry to post and run but my little girl is sick as hell cause of those 1 year vaccine shots..

J'etais le dernier a partir du plateau et en attendant le dernier transfert de carte P2 je me suis dit pourquoi pas faire un HDR de tout ca!!
Ca m'a pris 11 photos pour couvrir l'ecart de stops de lumiere entre les spots et les ombres du plafond!! Le resultat ne donne pas trop dans le genre de peintures HDR mais reste que ca donne un resultat tres dynamique!!

J'aime bien les hdr d'interieurs et vais recommencer sous peu aussitot que ma petite fille ira mieux (maudits vaccins d'un an) et que le boulot me le permettra!! : )

A large storm front arrived offshore from Acadia National Park recently. This shows one of the very large waves as it crashed against 110 foot (33.5 meter) high Otter Cliff. To get an idea of the size, note the people in the upper right.

A Strange Creature Rises From The Deep

This deserves an explanation. Trixie puts the ball in the pool and bats it around until it sinks (it has a hole in it large enough for her nose). She then ducks her head under water to retrieve it and comes up holding the ball in her mouth with her nose in the ball. She keeps her eyes open the whole time. We think Trixie is a unique and utterly goofy girl!

(Double) Visions of Fall

That Maple tree again, this time double exposed. Done with what has become my "usual" technique of one exposure in focus, the second out of focus. Depending on how far out of focus the second exposure is, it can really change the effect of the photo, something I am still learning. I like the combination of this picture with the other of the same maple that I posted previous to this one, as they are the same roll of film, same day, same tree, and only moments apart. I like how it demonstrates that there are always different worlds out there to explore and sometimes finding them does not require different equipment, just altering our own perspective a bit.

Shot with my Nikon FM2n and Velvia 50 slide film, my Nikkor 28mm 2.8 lens and a little imagination.

I don't think most tassie tourists will get to see this view during their trip since it is not meant to be a hot touristy spot or is it located along a common highway. In fact I don't even know there is such a mountain call mount roland in tassie. Among those mountains (see below), I only know the famous cradle mountain. well, my geography fails so that explains it all haha! :P We just happen to take a detour through a small town & happen to come across this spectacular view. Really I should have done a pano! :S
