Real Dark Matter (Jul 11)

Real Dark Matter by Dedede-Daimyo
The second form of KDL2's final boss; Dark Matter also appears in KDL3 and K64. After shedding his samurai cloak and armor, DM reviles his true self to Kirby as they duke it out in space. In both of the times he is battled, DM shoots black lightning out of his eye and lets loose the orange/purple orbs from his back which home-in on Kirby. The Rainbow Sword can reflect these orbs back at DM in DL2. However, in DL3, Kirby gains the superior Love-Love Stick, composed of all the heart-stars gained throughout the game, and used that to delete Dark Matter. Zero is the driving force behind DM, but I never made him, because he would just be a giant waste of clay. DM has the ability to possess people and things, which is the biggest threat he poses. His relative is Miracle Matter, and possibly Dark Nebula.
> Japanese Guru man here again! In this installment, I have a theory that will blow Dark Matter's origin out of the water. Deeply hidden in the lore of Japanese monsters, there is a creature called the "Bakkubea-do" (Backbeard/Bugbear) based on the concept of the Boogieman in the West. Anyway, its traditional appearance is that of an immense, floating black ball with a single eye in the center. This may seem common, but it also has protrusions on its backside, more root/branch-like than the orbs of Dark Matter, but serve the same purpose, as they go after its prey. The Back Beard is said to be the ruler of all Western monsters, in contrast with the Yokai of Japan. As such, it is rumored to be made of the smog from burning fossil fuels. The similarities don't end there; besides being the manifestation of fear, its most prominent trait is its ability to hypnotize people who stare into its eye, not unlike how Dark Matter possesses others. I may just be putting too much thought into it, but you got to admit that the similarities between the two are uncanny. A picture of the Back Beard, for comparison <http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/kitaro/charactor/images/img_backbeard.jpg>

The first form of Dark Matter. If Kirby has collected all of the Rainbow Drops scattered throughout the islands of Kirby's Dreamland 2, Dark Matter will escape to the sky from the defeated King Dedede. Combining the Drops into the flying Rainbow Sword, Kirby will ascend to the sky himself, to do battle with the dark menace. Dark Matter can slash with his sword, but he also fires off dark orb projectiles, which Kirby can reflect back at the Swordsman for an effective counter attack. One would wonder exactly why Dark Matter goes through the trouble of dressing up in such attire and why does he use a sword to fight Kirby? It all seems pretty unnatural for this supernatural being. Perhaps, like Meta Knight, Dark Matter at first wishes to challenge the pink one to a fair duel, but upon losing, shows his true colors...

Sweet Stuff by Dedede-Daimyo
Lots of Sweet Stuff going around these days... The big boss of Ripplefield in Dreamland 2 is an insane anglerfish with an electrified lure. Like Acro, Sweet stuff is battled under water. Also like the orca, this anglerfish is indeed FEMALE! Yes, the female species of this fish is actually quite large, while the male is less than 100 times smaller in comparison. Anyhoo, Sweet Stuff is able to materialize Tinsel, the infamous cycloptic starfish, along with Gordo and Squishy to run in to Kirby. However, Kirby can send them, save Gordo, right back at 'er with a blast of his bubble gun. She can also fire damaging vibrations and electro-balls from her glowing lure; these cannot be utilized and must be avoided. As with all underwater levels, the aid of Kine levels the playing field. She cameos in KDL3 as part of Ado's painted boss battle. And now, a looming Darkness approaches...

I should have uploaded this back when this IF Contest was going on. But I forgot!

Berroll's name comes from "barrel roll," but there's no barrels around at all. It's also partially derived from "bear," but again Berroll doesn't have much in common with bears aside from those nubby claws.

I made a pretty dumb mistake with Berroll- rather than inhaling stars and crap, you should have just been able to inhale his ball at key moments! Sort of like with Mr. Frosty's ice cubes and Captain Stitch's spikes.

Ice Dragon by Dedede-Daimyo
The big bosses continue~! Ice Dragon is the refrigerated reptilian ruler of iceberg island in Kirby's Dreamland 2. Despite his heavy appearance, ID is able to hover in battle by rapidly spinning his tail. When he lands, the shock-wave causes sharp icicles to fall from his cave's ceiling. Also by spinning his tail, ID can whiz toward Kirby, while he releases an icy fire from his gaping maw. Another use for his tail, Ice Dragon can send a frozen stalagmite along the floor in Kirby's direction. This guy was somehow popular enough to cameo in KDL3 as one of Ado's killer paintings, again in K64 as one of Adeleine's attack arts, and at least twice during the entire run of the anime. This guy gets around! (with the aid of his tail) :D
