The intimate bonding that happens between the mother and child is when she holds her baby in her arms and hugs it close to her body. This bond from childbirth to death is formed because of the magic of loving touch.

When you see couples fight in life, you will always find them far apart and arguing with each other. They are reluctant to even come close. They happen to come close only with some evil intent. But the first act of reconciliation happens only when they kiss, touch and hug each other. Everything seems settled once there is a loving touch. But till that moment it is war.

The chemistry of touch is well understood in the scientific world. It is said that just by touching your partner or family or friends who are at loggerheads with each other the bond of friendship gets restored.

The science of this loving touch is unique. Hormones which make you feel good are released the moment the touch is experienced.

Establishing oneness with each other is essential for humankind so we express touch or soothing words.
Such wonderful knowledge exists in this world and yet we never use it to establish the human bond of love and friendship. Man loves to fight and be always in anger and doubt.

Solve this by the loving human touch. A word of caution. Don’t try this on unknown people. Only people known to you may not object to it. The rest might consider it as an offence.

This world runs on fear. Fear is the greatest motivating factor in marketing anything to anyone. Fear is also that factor which can make you do or undo something that makes you fearful.

Fear has two sides to itself. One makes you afraid of taking any steps and the other makes you do all those things. Fear is the most important motivating factor or the worst demotivating one.
Fear of death is one of the greatest tools used by the insurance companies. Similarly the health care industry thrives on your fear.

Why is man afraid of anything at all? The answer is simply the term called ‘ignorance!’

A mother loves to put fear in the child when she doesn’t want him to do something stupid or risky. She says that there is a ghost in the kitchen when she doesn’t want her kid to go there to raid her food. But the child may fearlessly go there if she knew that there aren’t any ghosts there.

When an individual grows up he wants to keep pace with his childhood friends so that he doesn’t lose the rat race. The person ends up doing something’s due to the fear of missing out. Like joining the same college or stream of studies. He joins the companies or takes up so called safer professions.

Taking up a job or raising a family like the herd mentality developed over eons, man succumbs to the diktats of societal pressure. That’s fear of losing out in this relentless society.

Fear of becoming poor drives one to earn money. Money is the greatest motivator along with death.
Driven by paucity of money, man takes many rash or silly decisions. He seeks jobs that pay well, takes insurance and lives a rat race.

Humans are so fascinated with the mind. An entire library floor can be dedicated to the subject called The Mind.

But hey, let’s try to answer the basic question. Where do you think is the mind? Is it the brain or in your brain? Try figuring out where the mind resides.

It’s like asking the question- where is the thing called the computer? Is it the CPU? Or is it the entire stuff? Likewise, where is the Internet? These questions aren’t answerable.

Sometimes we point at the head and say that I am thinking in the mind! Does the mind exist in the body or outside it? Let’s just say that the mind exists within the body. There is no way in which we can suggest its existence since no one has actually seen the mind or caught it.

Some old books suggest that there is no such thing as the mind and yet some others insist that there is a mind.

Mind can take you on an entirely fruitless journey just like through the rabbit hole.

Now you have to know where the mind resides so that you can catch it and tame it. Once you tame this mind of yours, then you will be able to make it do what you please.

Pandemic created a plethora of problems for human beings. Not only was the health of man the concern, but the whole environment itself was affected badly. Everyone suffered even if they never contacted the covid virus.

Especially, the brain which shrunk miserably. Activities which were so common for humans came to a grinding halt. Man couldn’t move outside his house, couldn’t even go to office in a normal way. Everything happened through the electronic media. Whether it was house work, job work, grocery shopping, food or entertainment, everything was done electronically. The banks, merchants, markets and even doctors consultations happened remotely.

A certain part of brain that involves active life came to a screeching halt.
Humans became passive creatures, accustomed to sedentary lifestyle. Science teaches us that if we stop using certain parts of the body, they tend to stop functioning. Human Body has the unique ability to grow out of active usage and make those parts stop functioning.

Be it the soldiers on the fronts or policemen on city duties, IT professionals or the humble clerks in banks, bread winners at home or the maids which work in your kitchens, we should respect every job.

Sometimes people have to sacrifice their lives while performing their duties so does it make them martyrs?

Look at the army folks on one side who lay down lives for the country or the simple mother who sacrificed her everything for her baby.

Would you compare one to another? Both are doing their duties diligently.

Now look at the sweepers who clean our streets and colonies or the person who takes out our garbage!

Can we give less importance to them?

Imagine, these folks not turning up for work? The whole world would stink around us.

So we should respect even the smallest or the most insignificant job too.

When we do our duties, we should give it our full attention and efforts.

All jobs are dispensable and indispensable too. It’s what and how we make of it.

Let’s put all our hard work and effort in whatever we are doing and feel satisfied after giving it our all.

Even though Krsna was considered to be the epitome of detachment and dispassion, He put everything in His endeavors.

What it means is to do all actions with 100% like Him is to be a perfect actor knowing fully well that its just a performance for the situation, meanwhile knowing that the Actor is not Him but just the greasepaint and clothes which are enacting it!

You too should do the same in your world.

To do all actions whether you like them or not, whether you feel detached or dispassionate about them or even if you hate or love doing it, you gotta put 100% in them while performing it.

Isn’t a relationship built after arranged marriage also with a person you don’t know from Adam?

Doing some of the most intimate acts without an ounce of love in it and later loving the same?

Every aspect of life comes in twos!

With victory comes defeat, with joy comes sadness and with tranquility comes anger!

Just as you cannot have a coin with a single face, you cannot have only one side of life.

The side facing upwards and the side facing downwards. 

When you are experiencing joy rising, the part called sadness is going downwards.

When anger rises the goodness in you goes down.

To maintain equanimity in yourself, throw the two faced coin and be even minded either ways.

The root cause of this instability is desires and ownership.

The desire to be happy makes us relinquish sadness and the cause of wanting victory is defeat!

This want, need and desire is that enticing coin with two faces.

Remember that which is destined to come to you will come to you.

Just continue to do what you have to do!

Throw that coin of delusion and duality away.

The mind is your best friend and worst enemy. If only I had learned to rein my mind faster, I wouldn’t have had to give this long pause pen the most beautiful experiences of my journey with my master – “KrsnaGuru.”

Life was extremely miserable with my master living with me in my friend’s place. I wasn’t comfortable at all. It was a big blow to my ego, and the misery doubled as it was a deflated ego. The idea of living and working in Singapore will be smoother was illusional. It was for the very first time in life; it hit me hard that life is not what I expect it to be. Same with people too. I was nowhere there to understand even the ‘S’ of spiritual.

When I look back in time, I realize the truth about what my Guru used to tell me. I was living in my la-la land, which is never going to be a reality of my life. It was due to my expectations of everyone that I suffered. I even to-date at times, face the same issues of having expectations from others how they need to behave with me. And the lessons keep coming dime a dozen to test me to see if I have risen or are still in the same place.

That is one time in life when I hated my master the most. I didn’t want him in my life. Having no choice, I had to take care of him as we are always taught – “Atithi Devo Bhava” means Guest is God, and here my guest was my Guru who is greater than any God in this world. I somehow managed to go ahead with life. He continued to teach me the most profound scripture – Avadhut Gita. I never understood a word of it. All I learnt was that I have to become an Avadhut – Free just like his Gurudev – Lord Dattatreya.

It was almost time for my Guru to head back to India. He preponed his tickets as he was extremely disappointed with is another student who never gave him that respect of him being her “Guru.” In that last week, he took me to one of the famous Chinese temples of ‘Guan Yin’ a temple dedicated to the Chinese Buddhist Goddess of Mercy – Kuan Yin. He was showing me around and teaching me the beautiful stories about the deities. He selected a few storybooks for me to read about the Buddhist philosophy. Even after the visit to the temple, I was still in that unhappy and shock state.

A day before my master was leaving, we headed out to buy somethings. We boarded the MRT and sat down. I perfectly remember the train was almost empty, and where we sat, there was nothing on the floor. My master started to share his feedback on me. He started telling me how good an individual I am, and he said, I had a heart of gold which no one has in this world, and he would vouch for that. As he continued and mentioned that he blesses me to evolve in my Spiritual world, I found a ‘Ten Cents’ at his feet. I picked, and he said, I have gained ten-cents of wisdom and will evolve in my spiritual world.

I have no clue what transformed my sad-heart within. It started to melt, and the tears in my eyes couldn’t stop flowing. An emotion which in our Spiritual world is called ‘Bliss,’ is what I had experienced. He touched my head and blessed me. An intense love gushed for my Guru from nowhere. The bitter feeling disappeared as though it was a bad dream. Since then, there has been no looking back no matter how many tests I might have to face every single day. I cannot stop loving him, and my love has only grown every single day having now gathered blessings of wisdom in the form of coins and currencies across the globe every time I have evolved in my spiritual world.

With the Grace of my Master, I have been able to pen this most wonderful experience in a string of words. Thank you for reading and do watch out for my next write-up about ”Arrogance of Knowledge.”

There is no truth in these things.

In the same way we also undergo troubles and scrapes in life, pass through superhuman ordeals and obstacles and come out unscathed!

So where is the truth in them when you know truth never changes ever?

Life is a dream and every moment is changing and unreal.

Sometimes its a nightmare too.

Know the truth about life now- Its unreal and soon you will wake up from your dream to reality which is the true Self.
