Scared Scriptless hosts Yippee Kayak tonight, Friday, July 18 and tomrrow night at the Wildberry Theatre in Anchorage.

Returning to Alaska for the Last Frontier Theatre Conference, director Mark Lutwak visits from Hawaii. Next week Lutwak will redirect Cyrano (previously performed at Cyrano’s Off-Center Playhouse in December 2007) in Valdez on Friday, June 20. Stage Talk hosts Mark and Jean will also take part in the conference, so there will no Stage Talk next Friday on KSKA.

The Music Machine has been teaching music and movement to Anchorage’s youth since 1982. Director, Janet Carr-Campbell talks about upcoming auditions in May and performances at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts this August. Plus, TBA Theatre presents an all original adaption of the classic fairytale, Hansel and Gretel the Muscial. Hear from TBA’s artistic director, Shane Mitchel, who wrote the musical and winner of UAA’s Subway Starving Artist Award, Meg Fowler, who designed the unique set. Hansel and Gretel the Musical opens tonight, May 9th at APU’s Grant Hall.

The story of Little Women is Louisa May Alcott’s most famous novel, interweaving the lives of the March girls. Kaitlyn Miller who plays “Jo”, Alora Zulliger who plays “Amy” and the assistant director, Marcia Dean Beck are the guests on this weeks edition of Stage Talk. Presented by Valley Performing Arts, Little Women opens tonight, May 2 at the Machetanz Theatre in Wasilla.

Artistic director of Alaska Theatre of Youth, Christian Heppinstall stops by this week, along with Amy Caron from Waves of Mu, now playing at Out North in Anchorage. The Alaska Theatre of Youth celebrates its 25th birthday this year and will present The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, April 25 - 27 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Waves of Mu will be at Out North through Saturday, April 19 and then Caron and her crew will travel to Homer, Alaska for three performances at the Bunnell Street Gallery, April 25 - 27.
