OK , I know it has been way to long in blog days since I made a post or an update. I did get me a Tumblr blog so that I would have a place for the RSS Feed from this and my other blogs, my Twitter and other content all to be posted in one place to make it a little easier to find. I know with me having so many and all, it can at times be a chore bookmarking them all. I am happy to say that I will be making a website for My Samsung Epix, I know I posted about this ages ago in blog years, but now I get to make one for my college class, which I think is very kool. I get to work on something I wanted to do anyway, and get a grade and college credit for it at the same time. The school thing is what is taking up most of my time, who knew college would be so time consuming . This Tumblr page will as I said give me one central place to have the RSS feeds and even maybe my delicious links if the testing of that goes well. I am testing out tons of apps now, so that when I get into the coding of the webpages, all will be in XHTML, done in Dreamweaver CS4, I will have plenty of pages worth of content. The minimum is ten pages, but I am thinking I can knock that out without issue since I pretty much test any and every app I get my hands on that works with my Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 . So for any of you that care to see my content, you can just bookmark the Tumblr blog and then if you see anything you deem worthy of a read you can click the link from there and it will take you straight to the content you desire.

One last note, on my blog at blog.kstudent.com I added the disqus comment system. If you do not know what this is, it is just a way for you to not have to make an account and be more interactive on the site. On here I use IntenseDebate, I figured since the content is Identical on the two blogs, the only difference is the version and plugins I use this would be a good way to tell what comment plugin would encourage the most interaction. So with that I must grab a bite to eat and get some sleep as I have class to work on tomorrow, keep checking in with me. My term is ten weeks so at the end of it I should have one helluva site for WinMo and apps for the SmartPhones.

My Foundations in Information Technology class is going well. The “manual” we are having to write, adding more parts to each week is now at 33 pages and 6,998 works and counting. That includes the cover page and three pages of sources from my research. I thought I had jumped in way over my head after the first week or two in this class, but the further along I get the better I feel about things.

I got my personal Facebook page up now, only have a few friends on it as of now so is a case of art imatating life I guess. I have had my Twitter up, but I do more with the business twitter than mu personal one. Just for the He#% of it my personal twitter is @KStudent and the business is @almobile . I do not know if any of you care to even know that but I am putting it out there cause hey…. this is MY Blog lol. Freedom of speach is a wonderful thing.

I have been playing with the new Dreamweaver CS4 and the rest of the goodies in my Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium and you can click the link to see what all it has. I just have 2 comments on it.

In the Foundations class we are writing a computer repair manual adding a little more to it each week as we read and discover more about the world of repairing Windows Desktops for the most part but some of it applies to about any type or brand of PC. Upon first hearing about this I thought “how in the h*%$ am I suppsed to write a manual on stuff that I barley know and on some I do not know at all”? After voiceing my concerns to the professor he shed some new light on it for me and instructed me to “think of it more as a manual for yourself tgo have in the future of the things you learned and researched while in this class”. That made more since to me than how I had taken it as writing a manual for a future employee to do things I could not yet fully do.

In non school related new my baby boy Gauge is now almost 6 months old and growing so fast. He is doing all most 6 month old babys do, sitting up on his own, slobbering alot and just making me a proud and happy daddy.

I have been using my Samsung Epix Smartphone now for abot 5 months, it is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional based system and I have to say I have had very little to complain about other than the irritating ascending ringtone that you could not turn off. I did find a patch for that on a great site for any other Epix users MySamsungEpix.com . I have also been packing it down with TONZ of apps, most from PocketPCFreeware.mobi, a mobile friendly site that you can go to right in your phones browser and download the apps atraight to your phone, nothing annoys me more than having to “teather” the phone to my laptop, is that not why they made the phone WiFi capable in the first place??

Ok I guess that is enough ranting and raving for one night or post, and I do kind of need to get back to the school work at hand. I am happy I got the chance to do this update, with school and everything else in life it gets hard to keep a blog “up-to-date”. The upcoming term I am taking a composition class and web design 247. The comp class I am not to thrilled about but plan to do my best in it. The web design class I am ready for as we learned a lot of the basics in 117, and now I wanna know the not so basics. I want to code the code least coded, write the site least written and do the tasks that take a few brain freezes and a walk away and return or two.

I am overall happy with my start at Kaplan University, I as many of you that will read this I’m sure, was very skeptical on how much I could possibly learn from an “Online University”. Is this just a joke or waste of my time I wondered. Well I have learned a good bit and have just a little over 10 weeks under my belt.

On a personal note my baby boy is doing great almost is 5 months old and is very healthy and happy. My wife is doing well aside from the normal blues of mothers whom have to return to work and leave that bundle of joy at home for any amount of time , but she is handling it like a trooper.

Well I have blabbed enough and school starts oficially at 10:59p.m. Central time tommorow night so I should go ahead and get some rest, because if last term is any indicator I will be living on 3 to 6 hours of sleep tops for the next 10 weeks and 10 days off past me by quicker than I can comment.
