All Six Cats Invited To NBA Draft Combine

All six of UK’s likely NBA Draft picks – Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb, Marquis Teague and Darius Miller – have been invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine. The event will be held in Chicago over the weekend of June 7-8 and a total of sixty players have been invited.

Over the course of the interview, Barnhart discussed his relationship with John Calipari, what fans can expect from the basketball schedule next season and the status of football coach Joker Phillips. The UK athletic director also touched on where the school currently sits in their goal of funding renovations to Commonwealth Stadium and pointed west to Frankfort for where the hitch and the plans sits.

Indiana Will Not Play Kentucky This Season

The series between Kentucky and Indiana, which has been played every year since 1969, has officially ended as of now, according to IU. The school released a statement saying they could not reach an agreement with UK on continuing the series, with the disagreement centered on where the rivalry games would be played. Hoosier coach Tom Crean said in the release, “We have a strong belief that this series should be played on campus and is something that should be beneficial for both teams.”

Terrence Jones Raps For Charity

Former UK star Terrence Jones was in Louisville last night to sign autographs and perform “Teach Me ‘Bout Kentucky” at Wick’s Pizza. The event was organized to raise money for the Down Syndrome Center of Louisville, Reece’s Rangers Foundation and the Stone Cold Willow Dental and College Fund.

Davis Added To Olympic Finalist Roster

Sports Illustrated is reporting that reigning National Player of the Year Anthony Davis has been added to the Olympic finalist roster by Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski. The roster, made up of 20 players, will compete for the final 12 spots on the London Olympic team.

The report, however, also notes that former Cat DeMarcus Cousins is not expected to be added as a finalist. The Sacramento Kings center is believed to be on the Select team, which will scrimmage with the Olympic group.
