Indeed it does, Barloef. But back when I complied this list, in July 2009, the Rijksoverheids weren’t implemented yet (Nov 2009, if I remember correctly).

I decided to keep the list as is, even if some typefaces aren’t that rarely seen anymore. This way, we can compared how the presence of some fonts might change over time.

Good to see Versa there as well, it has really beautiful brush-inspired letterforms. Although if you say underused, the Dutch government uses a Versa-based typeface Rijksoverheid (also designed by Verheul) so it does live on in some way as one of the most-used typefaces in the Netherlands at least.

So nice to see Biblon on your list. It’s sadly more forgotten than underused. I have it earmarked for an upcoming project. Really hope to see Štorm at just one more weight — an extra bold, perhaps.

Correction: I was only comparing the "9 Regular", "6 Regular", "9 Bold", "6 Bold", etc. in the left column on the site, and those are indeed identical* for some reason. However I took the time to compare settings from the "live" type tester, and -although the 9 and 6 do seem a bit too close- they're clearly not the same. So the fonts themselves must be OK, it's just that sometimes it seems the 6 isn't actually being used for samples.

* As was the case in the original specimen, which I do remember scanning at 600dpi and comparing closely.

I just saw this!
Indra, please have this problem every December.

BTW, what I don't get about Paperback is, why are the 9 and 6 masters seemingly identical? I first noticed that when they published their first specimen, and assumed the 6 simply wasn't ready in time. But on the website the two are still the same. What am I missing?

Indra, I just saw this. What a great problem to have! Thanks for sharing the "gory"** details.
And it's funny how some people's Sarcasm Detection Algorithm fails when it comes to $.

For the record, I'd call those counters too, but "open counters" (no matter what the aperture).

Yes, Craig, I mean aperture. I would have called the upper space inside “a” and the lower in “e” a counter too, but I’m no native speaker. Will correct, thanks.

I think this strategy of classification is pretty sound.

When you say "whether the counters are open or closed," are you talking about the apertures, or something else?
